Are some UMNO leaders super-quick in repudiating Najib Razak but for the wrong reasons?

The suggestion by the Johore state assembly speaker Puad Zarkasi that UMNO and BN cannot have a poster boy who is over perasan (self-engrossed) and lembik (weak) raises the question whether some UMNO leaders are super-quick in repudiating Najib Razk but for the wrong reasons.
Puad said on his Facebook that having a “poster boy” could backfire and suggested for Umno and BN to capitalise on the time-tested BN logo instead. Read the rest of this entry »
Country is divided between those who asked “What’s next for Najib” and those who asked “What’s next for Malaysia?”
Posted by Kit in Najib Razak, nation building on Wednesday, 24 August 2022, 7:24 am
August 23, 2022 has proved to be a critical day for Malaysia – which divided the country between those who asked “What’s next for Najib” and those who asked “What’s next for Malaysia”?
Those who asked “What’s next for Najib” have pledged that the “Malu Apa BOSSku” movement will fight on, not realising that the “Malu Apa BOSSku” phenomenon is a Malaysian abomination and had actually done a great disservice to Najib himself. Read the rest of this entry »
After three horror stories in its 88-year history, RMN deserves a 65th National Day relief with the establishment of a RCI into the RM9 billion LCS scandal
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Defence, Najib Razak, PAS on Tuesday, 23 August 2022, 7:46 am
I congratulate the Defence Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, for going through with the declassification of two documents on the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal – the report of the Special Committee on the Procurement, Governance and Finance (JKSTUPKK) and the report from a forensic audit on the LCS project 2010- 2014 carried out by Alliance IFA (M) Sdn. Bhd., although there were redactions in these two reports which were not only unnecessary but clearly against the principles of accountability and transparency.
The JKSTUPKK report, the forensic audit report 2010-2014 in the LSC scandal and the earlier Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on the LCS scandal were three horror stories for the RMN – the most serious blow the RMN had suffered in its 88-year history. Read the rest of this entry »
In tribute of Dr. Chen Man Hin (6): Sublime life leaving footprints on the sands of time
The outpouring of support and solidarity for Dr. Chen Man Hin at his passing in Seremban reminds me of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem which I had studied in school:

Is Najib prepared to take an oath that he has nothing to do with the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal?

Former Prime Minister Najib Razak has lapsed into silence on the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal after he realised that he had made a strategic mistake by being in the forefront in the first week the Public Accounts Committee report on the LCS scandal was tabled in Parliament on August 4, 2022.
He was even more outspoken than the current Defence Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein and the Defence Minister when the disastrous RM9 billion LCS procurement was decided upon in 2011 – Ahmad Zahid Hamidi the current UMNO President. Read the rest of this entry »

This document was classified for 50 years and was declassified on 24th February 2020.

In tribute of Dr. Chen Man Hin (4) – “A Tower of Strength in a Time of Darkness”
Posted by Kit in DAP, nation building on Saturday, 20 August 2022, 5:19 pm
In the early years of DAP, nobody could predict that DAP would be able to survive the onslaught of the UMNO-Barisan Nasional political behemoth, which exercised political hegemony for several decades.
In fact, in the early seventies, a deputy prime minister declared that DAP was “one foot in the grave” and everyone expected the DAP to expire soon after.
But a determined and idealistic band of Malaysians was committed to the Malaysian Dream where every Malaysian, regardless of race, religion and region, is an equal Malaysian citizen and where it is possible to unite all Malaysians despite our ethnic, linguistic, religious and cultural diversity, to make Malaysia a world-class great nation.

Why is UMNO now hostile to the PAC report on RM9 billion LCS scandal when earlier the Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein had promised to act based on the PAC’s recommendations on the LCS scandal?
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Defence, UMNO on Saturday, 20 August 2022, 7:34 am
The Malaysian public are now very confused: why is UMNO now hostile to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal when earlier that Defence Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, had promised to act based on the PAC’s recommendations on the LSE scandal?
The latest development of the LCS scandal saw the current and former PAC chairmen trading barbs, with Johore UMNO deputy chief and former PAC Chairman Nur Jazlan Mohamd accusing his successor Wong Kah Woh of abusing his position to benefit Pakatan Harapan with Wong responding that the PAC was a bipartisan body and all of its reports were produced based on consensus. Why are UMNO and BN leaders completely unconcerned about the RM9 billion LCS scandal, which turned a “dream project” into a national nightmare?

UMNO has urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AG) to respond to a document purported to be the leaked MACC investigation paper on the judge who had convicted former Prime Minister Najib Razak.
According to the UMNO Secretary-General Ahmad Maslan, the document had been circulating online and is an offence under Section 220 of the Penal Code.

Hishammuddin should explain why the Defence Ministry has reduced from two LCS to one LCS which must be completed and delivered with no additional government funds

Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said yesterday that ongoing construction of the first littoral combatant ship (LCS 1) will not involve new allocations from the government.
Hishammuddin said additional allocations for Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS) to complete the remaining five LCS will only be considered after completion of LCS 1 in reportedly another two years, despite an initial targeted date in 2019. Read the rest of this entry »

Hishammuddin should resign as Minister of Defence if he cannot convince the Cabinet to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the RM9 billion Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) scandal

I congratulate the Defence Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, for his undertaking in the Dewan Negara yesterday during the debate on Senator Lim Hui Ying’s motion of urgent, definite public importance on the RM9 billion littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal to propose the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the LCS scandal at the next meeting of the Cabinet, which is in a few hours ttime.
Hishammuddin should resign as Minister of Defence if he cannot convince the Cabinet to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the RM9 billion LCS scandal, as it would show that his views and proposals as Defence Minister on defence matters are utterly irrelevant and not taken seriously by other Ministers in the Cabinet. Open Letter to the Minister of Defence, Hishammuddin Hussein on Ten Reasons why there is an urgent need for a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the RM9 billion Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) scandal
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Defence, Hishammuddin on Tuesday, 16 August 2022, 8:01 am
I am writing this Open Letter to the Defence Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, on ten reasons why it is necessary to have a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal and why he should present the RCI proposal to the Cabinet tomorrow, although views had been expressed that an RCI is not needed now but only action by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
The ten reasons are:
(1) Although the all-party Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had done a great job in opening up on the subject of the RM9 billion LCS scandal, not all the facts of the scandal had been unearthed. For instance, the origin of the RM9 billion procurement, its development and the rationale for the various important decisions taken in the scandal resulting in the massive scale and prolongation of the scandal are not known. Former Prime Minister Najib Razak has made a most extraordinary statement – not denying that he was the “hidden hand” behind the RM9 billion littoral combatant ship (LCS) scandal but asking for proof that he was the “hidden hand”.
Najib said those blaming him for the failed procurement of the six LCS should show proof he interfered with the ships’ design or took money from the project.
