#kerajaangagal12 – four reasons why the Muhyiddin government has failed in the war against Covid-19 pandemic despite the emergency and suspension of Parliament on January 12

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Four reasons why the Muhyiddin Government has failed in the war against Covid-19 pandemic are, viz:

1. The daily increase of new Covid-19 cases which breached the 3,000-mark yesterday, recording an increase of 3,142 cases – the third time new daily cases had reached the 3,000 mark since Feb. 24.

#kerajaangagal11 – Call for public inquiry into the death of A. Ganapathy

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The mysterious death of A. Ganapathy warrants the establishment of a public inquiry to reveal its actual circumstances and cause.

I welcome the MIC proposal for an independent investigation into the death of A. Ganapathy, whose legs were amputated and later died after being detained by the police.

The RM50,000 fine for the Kota Bharu burger seller, Wan Mohd Faisal Wan Kadir is evidence of the prevailing kakistocracy under the Muhyiddin government

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The RM50,000 fine for the Kota Bharu burger seller is evidence of the prevailing kakistocracy under the Muhyiddin government.

Wan Mohd Faisal Wan Kadir, 38, who operates a stall in front his house at Kampung Rambutan Rendang, Kota Bharu, was visited by the police at about 11.10 pm two nights ago when he was completing some orders and was slapped with a RM50,000 fine for operating out of permissible trading hours under the movement control order (MCO) in Kelantan.

Under the MCO rules in Kelantan, eateries can only operate until 10pm.

Wan Faisal said: “At the time, there were no customers at the stall. Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal9 – Takyuddin’s statement after more than three months of emergency that Parliament will be convened when the right time comes either before or after the Covid-19 Emergency

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The shocking statement by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), Takiyuddin Hassan after more than three months after the declaration of emergency that Parliament will be called to convene when the right time comes either before or after the Covid-19 emergency ends, is evidence of kakistocracy and #kerajaangagal.

Takiyuddin is belabouring under a most wrong and fallacious notion that he controls Parliament and decides whether Parliament can convene or not, that he is more powerful and more important than the Parliament Speaker, who is reduced in his eyes to a mere factotum.

Does Takiyuddin realise that the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat ranks No. 13 on the protocol list, as published in the Federal Order of Precedence, while a Cabinet Minister – including the Minister of Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) – is lower down the list, ranked No. 16 in the protocol list? #kerajaangagal7 – Call for immediate and unconditional release of artist-activist Fahmi Reza as political satire is not a crime

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Malaysia is swiftly sliding down the abyss of oppression and authoritarianism – the latest example being the arrest of artist-activist Fahmi Reza.

I join the call for the immediate and unconditional release of Fahmi as political satire is not a crime.

What is most deplorable is the police break-in into Fahmi’s house and damage to the front-door during the arrest. Read the rest of this entry »

Second example of #kerajaangagal — Batu Pahat school segregating students for co-curricular activities based on race and gender

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Yesterday, I called on the Health Minister, Adham Baba, to stop his game of semantics and focus on checking the rise in the daily increase of Covid-19 cases and bring the third Covid-19 wave down to double-digit figures or resign!

Yesterday was the fourth day in a row where the daily increase of new Covid-19 breached the 2,000-mark, with 2,195 new Covid-19 cases, following daily increases of 2,148, 2,551 and 2,331 new cases the previous three days. The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases is 375,054.

How can we rekindle and re-motivate the hope and inspiration in the Malaysian Dream for the country to be a world-class great nation by ensuring that the 15th General Election to fulfil the high but dashed hopes of the 14th General Election for reform and salvation?

Since the launching of the Theatre Impian in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur last Sunday, I have been waking up at 3 am, 4 am or 5 am with the question how can we rekindle, re-inspire, re-energize and re-motivate hope and inspiration in the Malaysian Dream for the country to be a world-class great nation by ensuring that the 15th General Election fulfil the high but dashed hopes of the 14th General Election for reform and salvation?

How do we restore the hope and the inspiration in the 14th General Election when Malaysians at home and abroad made the superhuman effort to ensure that their every vote counted and stood tall in the world by performing the political miracle of effecting a peaceful and democratic transition of power for the first time in six decades? Which is worse – kakistocracy or kleptocracy?

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Is the Shah Alam High Court decision to quash a preventive detention order which was signed last year by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin who was also acting as home minister at the time using the “glamour name” Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin rather than his government gazetted MyKad name Mahiaddin Md Yasin an example of kakistocracy at its worst?

Muhyiddin was Johor Mentri Besar from 1986-1995, Cabinet Minister from 1995 to 2009 helming various Ministries from Youth and Sports, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Agriculture and Agro-based Industries as well as International Trade and Industry. Read the rest of this entry »

Emergency Proclamation and Suspension of Parliament not science-based but politics-based decisions purportedly to combat Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is considering lifting travel restrictions for those who have completed their Covid-19 vaccination and have been issued a digital certificate proving this.

The Prime Minister is on the right track but all Malaysians are asking why the Prime Minister is not considering convening Parliament and the State Assemblies to mobilise the whole country in a national mobilisation effort for an “all-of-government” and “whole-of-society” strategy and approach in the war against Covid-19 pandemic to bring the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia – one of the longest Covid-19 waves in the world – under control?

In the last three days, the daily increase of new Covid-19 cases have returned to four-digit figures. i.e. 1178, 1483 and 1133 cases, after falling to triple-digit figure for the first time in nearly four months when it registered 941 new cases on March 29. Read the rest of this entry »

Mahathir will not be Prime Minister for a third time but Malaysia has reached an unprecedented political situation where there is no one person who can command majority support of Members of Parliament

Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin is the first Prime Minister in Malaysia who cannot command majority support in Parliament.

Pakatan Harapan should focus on the 15th General Election and not obsessed with the numbers game as to who can win the majority in Parliament to become Prime Minister

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

I fully agree with Parliamentary Opposition Leader and head of Pakatan Harapan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Pakatan Harapan should focus on the 15th General Election and not obsessed with the numbers game as to who can win the majority in Parliament to become Prime Minister.

When visiting the “Malaysian Dream” Theatre Impian in Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Anwar said Pakatan Harapan should be moving forwards, strengthen the idealism of the people and focus on getting the machinery ready for the battlefield in the next general election to champion the aspirations of the people. Malaysia has descended into a hypo-kakistocracy (hypocrisy-kakistocracy) with the statement by Muhyiddin that he had advised UMNO Ministers not to quit

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Malaysia has descended into a hypo-kakistocracy (hypocrisy-kakistocracy) with the statement by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, that he had advised UMNO Ministers not to quit.

Muhyiddin said he had advised the UMNO Ministers to remain in the Cabinet to take into account the people’s interest and the country.

Muhyiddin is being quite hypocritical, when what he really meant was that the UMNO Ministers should remain to take into account Muhyiddin’s interest and survival and not that of the country. Read the rest of this entry »

Muhyiddin owes Tan KS and Mani Vannan apology for not allowing them home quarantine to perform their filial duties and the continuation of Dua Darjat disease

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin owe airline pilot Tan KS and Mani Yannan apology for not allowing them home quarantine to perform their filial duties while Deputy Federal Territories Minister Edward Santhara was able to benefit from the “Dua Darjat” abuse of power and undergo home quarantine after his controversial New Zealand trip.

Can the Prime Minister give an assurance to all Malaysians that all Dua Darjat abuse of power in the war against Covid-19 pandemic would cease?

(Media Comment by DAP MP for Iskandar Puteri Lim Kit Siang in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, 28th March 2021)

Muhyiddin said today the government will consider allowing interstate travel for Aidilfitri but the Health director-general raised the alarm yesterday about rising Covid-19 curve – why is there such conflicting messaging and kakistocracy?

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Today, in his constituency, the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government will study thoroughly whether the state inter-state travel and visits can be allowed in conjunction with Aidilfitri which falls in May.

But yesterday, the Health Director-General, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah sounded the alarm as the curve of Covid-19 infections began showing an upward trend and said on FaceBook: : “We need strong social responsibility and compliance to flatten the curve again.” Read the rest of this entry »

Malaysia has become almost a kakistocracy when the Cabinet is not bothered about the country’s performance in the Covid-19 pandemic or unconcerned about corruption and lack of professionalism in the police force

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Malaysia has become almost a kakistocracy when the Cabinet is not bothered about the country’s performance in the Covid-19 pandemic or unconcerned about corruption and lack of professionalism in the police force.

The Cabinet had two historic challenges yesterday – firstly, whether it will advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong to convene Parliament to spearhead a national mobilisation campaign to bring the Covid-19 pandemic under control by Malaysia Day on Sept. 16, 2021 and to be a better performer on the world stage in combating the Covid-19 pandemic; secondly, whether it will set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry on Police Integrity and Professionalism and to turn the Malaysian police into a world-class police force?

Malaysia must restore our moral high ground in international arena or we will continue to be regarded as illegitimate and Muhyiddin’s call to Myanmar military to release Aung San Suu Kyi and change course from violence to peace akin to the pot calling the kettle black

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin, has called on the Myanmar military to release Myanmese elected leader, Aung San Suu Kyi and to change course from violence to peace.

If Muhyiddin will not heed national and international calls for the convening on Parliament and the lifting of the emergency, why would the Myanmese military listen to his call?

A great honour that on the eve of 55th DAP anniversary, Karpal Singh who was DAP Chairman (2004-2014) and DAP MP (1978 – 2014) posthumously awarded “Datuk Seri Utama” for his services to Malaysians and nation

It is a great honour to the DAP that on the eve of our 55th anniversary, Karpal Singh, who was DAP National Chairman (2004-2014) and DAP MP (1978 – 2014) was posthumousl y awarded the Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri (DUPN) which carries the title “Datuk Seri Utama” in conjunction with the Penang Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas’ 82nd birthday celebration for the Tiger of Jelutong’s services to Malaysians and the nation. Karpal’s wife Gurmit Kaur received the award on behalf of her late husband.

DAP has come a long way since our registration by the Registrar of Societies on March 18, 1966.

We have had our many ups and downs, achievements and setbacks, but our goal had remained the same in the past 55 years – to create a world-class great nation out of the diversities of race, language, religion, culture and civilisation which meet in confluence in Malaysia to be “a beacon of light in a difficult and distracted world”. Muhyiddin government is putting the cart before the horses in asking for public feedback about the fake news emergency ordinance when public feedback should be sought before the gazette of the emergency ordinance

The Muhyiddin government is putting the cart before the horses in asking for public feedback about the fake news emergency ordinance when public feedback should be sought before the gazette of the emergency ordinance.

How can the government survey to gauge the public’s response to the fake news ordinance serve any purpose or contribute to the removal of the deficit of public trust and confidence when instead of putting the horses before the cart, the government is putting the cart before the horses? Why is the Attorney-General evading the question whether he would prosecute anyone under the emergency ordinance on fake news for alleging that the emergency was declared because Muhyiddin had lost the majority in Parliament

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Why is the Attorney-General Tan Sri Idris Harun evading the question whether he would prosecute anyone for alleging that the emergency was declared because the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had lost the majority in Parliament.

This question has become pertinent because of two contradictory statements by Cabinet Ministers: firstly, the assurance by the Communication and Multimedia Minister Saifuddin Abdullah yesterday that the government will differentiate between criticism and fake news; and secondly, the statement by the de facto Law Minister, Takiyuddin Hassan in an earlier joint press conference with Saifuddin that it would be a criminal offence under Emergency (Essential Powers) (No. 2) Ordinance 2021 for anyone to allege that Muhyiddin had an emergency declared because he had lost majority in Parliament and would be liable to be fined up to RM100,000, jailed up to three years or both.
