Four reasons why Sarawak should unite behind DAP candidates and not split their votes in the Sarawak general election on Dec. 18

(Versi BM)

I am at the Sibu Airport to rush back to Kuala Lumpur for the voting in Parliament on the 2021 Constitution Amendment Bill to end 45 years of injustices to Sarawak and Sabah caused by the 1976 Constitution Amendment Bill which resulted in Sarawak and Sabah not enjoying the rights and interests intended in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

There are four reasons by the voters of Sarawak should unite behind DAP and Pakatan Harapan candidates and not split their votes in the Sarawak general election on Dec. 18, 2021. Read the rest of this entry »

Karim said those seeking independence for Sarawak can’t be blamed but he does not realise that the widespread unhappiness of Sarawakians is caused by the failure of the Sarawak government leaders 45 years ago

(Versi BM)

Recently, a GPS Minister, Abdul Kafim Rahman Hamzah, a vice president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (a mainstay of GPS) said that the people who seek independence for Sarawak cannot be blamed for such sentiments, in view of the record of lot state rights but he did not realise that the widespread unhappiness of Sarawakians is caused by the failure of the Sarawak government leaders 45 years ago.

This is why I am interrupting my campaigning for DAP and Pakatan Harapan candidates in the Sarawak state general election and returning to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow as Parliament will be debating and voting the 2021 Constitution Amendment Bill to undo 45 years of injustice to Sarawak (and Sabah) caused by the 1976 Constitution Amendment Bill which was passed by Parliament on 13th July 1976 by 130 votes in support and nine votes in opposition. Proposal for a High-level Conference of 4,500 Longhouse heads in 2023 to mark the 60th Anniversary of formation of Malaysia to find out why Sarawak is rich but the Ibans remain mired in poverty with poor and backward infrastructure facilities

I have just visited two longhouses in the Dudong state assembly constituency and I am shocked by the bitter complaints from the longhouse residents about their poverty and their poor and backward infrastructure facilities.

Sarawak is very rich and has produced a very wealthy person known all over the world, but the people, in particular the Iban community, are mired in poverty with poor and backward infrastructure facilities. Why is this so? Read the rest of this entry »

Sarawak general election must prove that the Pakatan Harapan campaign for a world-class great Sarawak and Malaysia for a clean and better future is still the best vision for our children and children’s children and not a “hopeless cause”

Next week, two books on the recent history of Malaysia will hit the bookstores in the country – the first, “Capturing Hope – The Struggle Continues for a New Malaysia” by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will be available tomorrow while the second, “Final Reckoning – An Insider’s View of the Fall of Malaysia’s Barisan Nasional Government” by Romen Bose, the former political communications adviser to Najib Razak when he was Prime Minister of Malaysia, which will be available in all bookstores on Tuesday.

Both these books provide an invaluable insight into the past tumultuous decade, both the 22-month Pakatan Harapan government and the Najib government which was toppled by a democratic vote of the people of Malaysia in the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018, in particular how Najib averted a plot to arrest him while Prime Minister over the 1MDB scandal at a Cabinet meeting a day earlier by the sacking of Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Attorney-General Gani Patail in the final “Week of Long Knives” in July 2015. Only Ismail Sabri would give the Cabinet 90 pct score on their 100-day report card when it had not even reached a pass mark of 50 pct score

Election Commission should relax the Sarawak General Election SOPs to ensure that the holding of “clean, free and fair election” is not curbed on the specious ground of preventing the spread of Covid-19 infection

(Versi BM)

The Election Commission should relax the Sarawak General Election SOPs to ensure that the holding of “clean, free and fair election” is not curbed on the specious ground of preventing the spread of Covid-19 infection.

Everybody agrees that in the Sarawak general election, everyone must not take their eyes off from the Covid-19 pandemic and must do everything possible to prevent Covid-19 infections, but this should not be used as an excuse to prevent the holding of a “clean, free and fair” general election.

Three bad news for Malaysia in one day – when will the fall of Malaysia end?

(Versi BM)

Three bad news for Malaysia in one day – when will the fall of Malaysia end?

Firstly, there was the report that Malaysia’s mobile internet connection experience is at the bottom at the global and regional level, according to several global research reports.

Among 100 countries, Malaysia ranked lower than Asean neighbours Vietnam, Thailand, and even poverty-stricken Laos when it came to “Best Mobile Experience” related to 4G LTE wireless broadband speeds, based on global independent data company Tutela’s report recently. Read the rest of this entry »

Some fallacies about the Malacca general election result of Nov. 20

(Versi BM)

There are many fallacies about the outcome of the Malacca general election of November 20, 2021.

Firstly, that it was a landslide victory of UMNO and Barisan Nasional, when it was landslide victory of seats but not of votes – as although the BN won two-thirds majority of the state assembly seats, it won only an infinitesimal increase of 0.55 per cent of the 2018 votes cast to secure 38.39% of the votes in the Malacca general election last Saturday. The most ominous implication of the Malacca general election is that Najib may become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia

(Versi BM)

The most ominous implication of the Malacca general election is that Najib Razak may become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia in the national 15th General
Election.

Is this what Malaysians deserve, to get rid of the man who made Malaysia infamous as a “kleptocracy at its worst” and to receive him back four years later as a saviour of the nation freed of all corruption charges as if to install a model kleptocracy for the world? Read the rest of this entry »

One lesson of the Malacca general election

(Versi BM)

There are many lessons to be drawn from the Malacca general election last Saturday but it is counter-productive to zero in on any personality by putting all the blame and faults on him, in this case the Pakatan Harapan leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

First, there is a need for a change of political mindset by all political leaders. Read the rest of this entry »

Is Malacca general election the stepping stone for Najib to become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia?

The Facebook video of Najib Razak raises many questions, chief of which is whether the Malacca general election is to be the stepping stone for Najib to become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

From his Facebook Video, Najib was evidently speaking as the commander-in-chief of the UMNO campaign in the Malacca general election and the question automatically arises whether the Malacca general election will be a stepping stone for Najib to become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia. UMNO leadership will be tempted by Malacca general election results to rush to hold the 15th General Election for the country as early as possible, even early 2022

The UMNO leadership will be tempted by the Malacca general election results to tear up the confidence-supply-reform (CSR) memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Prime Minister Ismail Sabri and Pakatan Harapan to rush for the 15th General Election for the country to held as early as possible, even early 2022.

This is because based on the Malacca general election results, UMNO and BN will be able to take over the Federal government on its own, and may regain two-thirds majority in Parliament and even free the top UMNO leaders from corruption charges if the 15th General Elections is held in early 2022. Malacca General Election the most extraordinary of the 22 general elections in my experience – an election where physical campaigning is banned

(Versi BM)

The Malacca General Election is the most extraordinary of the 22 general elections in my experience in the last 56 years – an election where all forms of physical campaigning are banned.

I have gone through 12 national general elections, nine Sarawak state general elections and countless by-elections but this is the first time that we have an election where there are no public rallies, ceramahs, talks and walkabouts – which put the Opposition parties at a great disadvantage.

Nobody can be certain what would be the outcome of the Polling Day tomorrow. Read the rest of this entry »

Call on Malacca voters to represent Malaysians to vote against PN and BN tomorrow for the loss of nearly 30,000 lives and nearly 2.6 million Covid-19 cases as well as for Malaysia having the longest Covid-19 wave in the world

(Versi BM)

Tomorrow is Polling Day for the voters of Malacca for the Malacca general election.

I call on Malacca voters to represent Malaysia to vote against both the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the loss of nearly 30,000 lives, nearly 6,000 Brought-in-Dead covid-19 deaths and nearly 2.6 million Covid-19 cases, as well as for Malaysia having the longest Covid-19 wave in the world lasting over 14 months since the Sabah state general in September last year. I have been guided all my life by Wen Tianxiang’s immortal words “All men are mortal but my loyalty will illuminate the annals of history forever” and have never compromised my loyalty to Malaysia to make it a world-class great nation

(Versi BM)

Two days ago, I visited the Sam Tiong Keng temple in Semabok, Malacca which is in the Banda Hilir state constituency where we are fielding Malacca DAPSY Deputy Chief Leong Chau Yan.

I was in for a surprise as the main historic figure the temple was dedicated to was Wen Tianxiang, the poet-politician of the Southern Song dynasty, who chose death instead of betrayal of his loyalty to Kublai Khan and the Yuan dynasty.

I have been guided all my life by Wen Tianxiang’s immortal words “All men are mortal but my loyalty will illuminate the annals of history forever” and have never compromised my loyalty to Malaysia to make it a world-class great nation. Read the rest of this entry »

Call on the people of Malacca to use the Malacca general election on Saturday to launch a “Centennial Save Malaysia Campaign“ for Malaysia to stop the regression of past half-a-century and to become a world-class great nation by 2057

(Versi BM)

Thirty-seven years ago in 1984, the UMNO Malacca State Government wanted to demolish Bukit China with 12,500 graves of various communities – mostly
Chinese but there are also Malay and Portuguese graves – for commercial development to build shopping complexes and condominiums.

DAP launched a “Save Bukit China campaign” and united not only the people of Malacca, of also of Malaysia, comprising all races and religions, to preserve the Bukit China cemetery hill as a Malaysian national heritage site. Read the rest of this entry »

Will Malacca general election polling day on Saturday 20th November see daily new Covid-19 cases and Covid-19 deaths in Malaysia return to pre-emergency days of January 11, 2021 of less than 2,232 cases and four deaths or will it have more Covid-19 cases and deaths than Nomination Day on 8th November?

(Versi BM)

In another three days is the Malacca general election – a general election which the DAP and the Pakatan Harapan do not want but will have far-reaching implications and consequences for the political future not only Malacca, but of Malaysia.

One question Malaysians want to know is whether the Malacca general election on Polling Day on Saturday, 20th November 2021 will see daily new Covid-19 cases and Covid-19 deaths return to the pre-emergency days on January 11, 2021 of less than 2,232 cases and four deaths or will there be more daily Covid-19 cases and Covid-19 deaths than Nomination Day on 8th November?

Does Ismail Sabri’s “Keluarga Malaysia” includes a ban of gambling and liquor in Malaysia and withdrawal of support for the five Rukun Negara nation-building principles?

(Versi BM)

I have said that Ismail Sabri, the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia, is the weakest Prime Minister in Malaysian history, and this is confirmed by Kedah Mentri Besar’s action banning gambling in Kedah.

Ismail Sabri should clarify whether his “Keluarga Malaysia” includes a ban on gambling and liquor in Malaysia and the withdrawal of support for the five Rukun Negara nation-building principles of belief in God, loyalty to King and country, supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law and courtesy and morality. Let Malacca general election be the start of a new journey for Malaysia to become a world-class great nation by 2050

(Versi BM)

We are now close to the finishing line for the Malacca general election on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

There are only four days left before Malacca voters cast their vote in a general election they do not want, but which will have a far-reaching effect on the future of Malaysia – determining whether the Malaysian Dream could be realised in 2050 to become a world-class great nation, instead of continuing to lose out to one nation after another like in the past half-a-century.
