For the first time, the UMNO President Zahid Hamidi’s desperate hurry for the dissolution of Parliament for the holding of immediate 15th General Election seem to be close at hand and the possibilityy of Parliament being dissolved after Oct. 7 after the 2023 Budget had been presented to the Dewan Rakyat cannot be ruled out.
The example of Parliament being dissolved after the Budget was presented but before it was passed by both Houses of Parliament and given the Royal Assent had happened once before in 1999, but I had said that the Prime Minister Ismail Sabri should not following this wrong and bad example which tantamount to the Prime Minister misusing his powers. The two books launched today have sombre titles, “Malaysia Towads GE15 and Beyond” and “Dark Forces Changing Malaysia” , but they contained important question marks as the final decision has not been taken and as last page of the book on “Dark Forces” put it: GE 15 will decide the future of the nation – a Malay-Malaysia or a Malaysian-Malaysia.
The jailing of former Prime Minister, Najib Razak and the corruption conviction of his wife, Rosmah Mansor, and the contribution of the recent irrational, extremist and bigoted utterances of Hadi Awang, may bring about a sea-change in Malaysian politics.

One of the chief talking points in Malaysia today is when the next 15th General Election will be held – from as soon as in a month’s time to some time next year.
If Prime Minister Ismail Sabri dissolves Parliament after the Finance Minister has tabled the 2023 Budget in Parliament on Oct. 7, 2023, he would be following the sole example of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in dissolving Parliament in the midst of the parliamentary debate on the 2000 Budget on Nov. 10, 1999 for the 10th General Election on 29th November 1999. The triumph of social media disinformation and internet lies in the May 9 Philippines Presidential election, resulting in the landslide victory of Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the son and namesake of the late Philippines dictator and kleptocrat, must be a lesson for Malaysia.

Does Malaysia want to be the first nation in the world to have a kleptocrat to return to power as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia?
The biggest joke in the 14-day Johore general election is the statement by the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Hasni Mohammad that Singapore could be more developed if it was led by UMNO.
For the last 27 years from 1995 to 2021, Singapore ranked among the top 10 countries in the world in the annual Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) while Malaysia fell from the rank of 23rd position in 1995 to 62nd position in 2021. Malaysia is expecting to drop further in the TI CPI 2022.

The world is following closely the Johor State general election on March 12, 2022 not because Johor is important but whether a convicted kleptocrat can begin to return as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Before May 9, 2018, Malaysians who went overseas were reluctant to admit they were Malaysians to avoid questions on the billion-ringgit 1MDB scandal, which was well-known and infamous worldwide although the subject was censored in Malaysia and Members of Parliament were not allowed to debate the subject in the Malaysian Parliament and on Malaysia becoming a kleptocracy.

The third Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Prof. Emeritus M. Kamal Hassan’s new book, “Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay-Muslim Politics – the Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation” is proof that not all Malays support Najib Razak’s “Apa Malunya BOSSku” campaign.

I am worried about the voter turn-out in the Johore state general election on March 12, 2022 and would call on the voters of Johore not to fall into Najib Razak’s trap of not voting and let UMNO to win a landslide victory in Johore which will be a stepping-stone for Najib to return as 10th or 11th Malaysian Prime Minister in the 15th national General Election.
Najib is campaigning as the real leader of UMNO and Barisan Nasional and to return as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia by using the Johore state general election as a testing ground for his popularity.

DAP started in the Johor state general election from a very low point. Many do not expect the DAP to retain half the 14 seats won in the previous general election and there were even those who expect the DAP to be wiped out completely in Johor on March 12, especially under the Covid-19 pandemic which had been rampaging for more than two years and the very restrictive SoPs.
The public morale of the DAP and Pakatan Harapan was low because for more than two years, the Malaysian public had been fed with the false information, fake news and negative propaganda that the 22-month Pakatan Harapan government was a failure and disaster, when in fact, it was the beginning of institutional reforms started in the 14th General Election in 2018 to make Malaysia a world-class great nation. The ulterior motive of the UMNO masters is clear. Although none of the UMNO “court cluster” is a candidate in the Johor state general election, it is obvious that the UMNO “court cluster” are calling the shots as they want early 15th General Election so that they can escape punishment and go to jail for their corruption and their abuses of power when they were in government.

Last week, Malaysians heard of how one of the two protagonists of the 1MDB scandal spent millions of ringgit in one night from 1MDB funds throwing an extravagant 31st birthday party attended by superstars, who were paid “celebrity charges” for attending his lavish bash -: Leonard DiCaprio (US$250,000), Paris Hilton (US$100,000), Megan Fox ($US250,000) and Kim Kardashian (US$50,000).
Invoices were produced to show that Jho Low’s Las Vegas party costs US$3.6 million.
