15th General Election is a battle between the past and the future – a kleptocracy, kakistocracy and a failed state ala-Sri Lanka on Malaysia’s Centennial versus Malaysia as a world-class great plural nation on Malaysia’s Centennial

The die is cast.

Parliament has been dissolved for the holding of the 15th General Election.

The 2023 Budget, though the biggest in nation’s history, is no game-changer to resolve the economic crisis, raise the quality of education, ensure that Malaysia will not be a poor performer in another global pandemic or make Malaysia a world-class great nation

(Versi BM)

For several days this week, the foremost question in the minds of Malaysians is whether Parliament will be dissolved for the holding of the 15th general election despite the economic crisis and the worst monsoon and floods season threatening the country.

This speculative frenzy did not end with the tabling of the 2023 Budget by the Finance Minister, Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz yesterday as Malaysians are back to the question whether Parliament will be dissolved on Monday. Read the rest of this entry »

Will Malaysia have another week of ignominy where the topmost question in the country is whether Parliament will be dissolved or not?

(Versi BM)

Will Malaysia have another week of ignominy where the topmost question in the country is whether Parliament will be dissolved or not?

It is no credit to either the ninth Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri or to Malaysia that the question whether Parliament will be dissolved or not has paralysed the government, with Ministers sleep-walking in Parliament for a week not knowing whether they are coming or going. During his audience with the Yang di Pertuan Agong, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri should not raise the subject of dissolution of Parliament unless he has secured Cabinet approval for dissolution especially as Ministers of his coalition Cabinet have publicly declared their opposition

Will Parliament be dissolved tomorrow or day after?

(Versi BM)

The single question engrossing the minds of Malaysia is not whether Malaysia is on the precipice of facing the greatest monsoon and floods disaster because of climate change, likely to cause more than 54 human lives and property damage of some RM6.5 billion as last year, or the economic crisis faced by Malaysians because of increase of food prices and depreciation of the ringgit, or the tabling of the 2023 Budget on Friday, but whether Parliament will be dissolved tomorrow or day after.

I will be surprised if Parliament is dissolved tomorrow or Friday, for it will mean that we have a Prime Minister who has not only served the shortest tenure of 14 months, but the most irresponsible Prime Minister in the nation’s history who has abdicated his responsibility to Malaysians to help them weather the worst monsoon and floods season in history and to cushion them from the economic crisis of rising prices and depreciation of the ringgit. Ismail Sabri will be guilty of parliamentary contempt in allowing Parliament to debate bills which will not become law with the dissolution of Parliament

(Versi BM)

I received a message today which read:

“Latest source: 6th October parliament dissolved; 5th November GE.”

Yesterday, a PKR MP asked me in Parliament whether Parliament will be dissolved. Read the rest of this entry »

Call on Ismail Sabri to declare that Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara will meet from Oct. 3 to Dec. 7 as planned that there will be no attempt on his part to dissolve Parliament in between

(Versi BM)

Dewan Rakyat meets today under a cloud – whether Malaysia will become a joke in the world with the convening of the parliamentary session where the primary questions are not the economic crisis facing the country as a result of rising prices and a depreciating ringgit, and the forthcoming monsoon and floods season which claimed 54 lives and caused RM6.5 billion damage to property last year, but whether Parliament will be dissolved although there is no motion of vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister in the current session.

Parliamentarians regardless of party must safeguard the dignity and good name of the Malaysian Parliament and not allow 36 UMNO MPs to bring Parliament into disrepute because its “Court Cluster” leadership wants UMNO leaders to escape jail sentences for corruption charges. If Parliament is not dissolved in the next two to three weeks, then the 15th general election will be next year

(Versi BM)
If Parliament is not dissolved in the next two to three weeks, then the 15th general election will be next year.

The top UMNO leadership, which is now meeting in Kuala Lumpur on this question, wants the15GE to be held immediately, regardless of the problems of the people in terms of rising prices and depreciation of the ringgit, and also in utter disregard of the threat of the monsoon and floods season, which has started in some parts of the country and cost 54 human lives and damaged RM6.5 billion of property last year.

The “court cluster” in UMNO are the only ones who want 15GE to be held during monsoon and floods disaster even if they cost greater damage than last year which suffered RM6.5 billion property losses and sacrificie of 54 human lives

(Versi BM)

UMNO President, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, has claimed that the floods are a “narrative and myth” spun by the opposition to avoid the 15th general election (GE15) from being held soon as the coalition has lost Malay support.

The “court cluster” in UMNO, represented by Zahid, are the only ones In the country who want the 15th General Election to be held during the monsoon and floods disaster even if they cost greater damage than last year which suffered RM6.5 million property losses and sacrifice of 54 human lives. Ismai Sabri should not trifle with his own 2023 Budget by dissolving Parliament before the Budget was debated and passed by Parliament

(Versi BM)

One of the possible scenarios making its rounds in the country is that the 2023 Budget will be presented to Parliament on Friday, October 7 and Parliament will be dissolved on Monday, 10th October 2022.

If this happens, the 2023 Budget when presented to Parliament on Oct. 7 will be the non-budget of the year. Ismail will also be following in the footsteps of one of the worst parliamentary examples of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister in 1999. Read the rest of this entry »

UMNO leaders are getting very desperate and blatant – they attack the judiciary for Najib going to jail instead of condemning corruption and they want early general election even to “wade through floods” to tell the world that 1MDB scandal is not a corruption scandal

(Versi BM)

UMNO leaders are getting very desperate and blatant – they attack the judiciary for the former Prime Minister Najib Razak going to jail instead of condemning corruption and they want early general election even to “wade through floods” to tell the world that 1MDB scandal is not a corruption scandal.

The UMNO President Zahid Hamidi made “twists and turns” trying to explain his speech at the launch of the BN machinery in Kuala Lumpur last Saturday on UMNO’s preparedness to “wade through floods” in the 15GE. Read the rest of this entry »

Call on Zahid to withdraw his statement that UMNO leaders are prepared to “wade through floods” if 15GE held during monsoon and floods disasters to prove that UMNO is still a responsible and people-oriented party

(Versi BM)

I call on the UMNO President, Zahid Hamidi, to withdraw his statement that UMNO leaders are prepared to “wide through floods” if the 15th General Election is held during monsoon and floods disasters to prove that UMNO is still responsible and people-oriented party.

The first four UMNO Presidents, Onn Jafaar, Tunku Abdul Raman. Razak Hussein and Hussein Onn would never have said such a thing and regard the loss of 54 lives and RM6.5 billion losses to property as happened last year because of monsoon and floods catastrophe as an irrelevant trifle which should be disregarded, and shows how different is UMNO today under Zahid Hamidi from the UMNO in its founding years. Just as Hasni Mohammad failed as a mind-reader when he failed to become Johore Mentri Besar after the Johore state general election early this year, he would fail as a mind-reader a second time when he said I was preparing to contest in the Bakri parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election.

Will Ismail Sabri be the second “backdoor” Prime Minister whose advice to the Yang di Pertuan Agong to dissolve Parliament during the monsoon and floods season is rejected by the King?

Will the Yang di Pertuan Agong for the first time in Malaysian history withhold consent to a request for the dissolution of Parliament if the Prime Minister,Ismail Sabri, is so irresponsible as to request a dissolution of Parliament regardless of the heavy costs to property and lives in a monsoon and flood season?

Holding of 15GE when there is monsoon and massive flood disasters will be valid and proper reason for the Yang di Pertuan Agong to refuse dissolution of Parliament unless there is a vote of no-confidence motion in Parliament

(Versi BM)

UMNO President Zahid Hamidi is very insistent that the 15th General Election be held this year, even UMNO leaders have to wade through flood waters – but Zahid did not say what UMNO leaders are going to do if flood waters are too high for them to wade through.
