I will contest the DAP Central Executive Committee election in June this year and am prepared to be defeated in a party election where I have given over 55 years of my life in pursuit of the Malaysian Dream.
I am not aiming for any front-line leadership position.
I want to reiterate that DAP does not advocate any de-Chinese, de-Malay, de-Indian, de-Kadazan or de-Iban policy. We stand for the very opposite, as we want Malaysians to accept that Malaysians will have multiple identities – ethnic, religious, linguistic, cultural, regional – but first and foremost that they are all Malaysians. The lessons from the 22-month Pakatan Harapan government

Pakatan Harapan must learn the lessons from the 22-month Pakatan Harapan Government whose five-year mandate was cut short by the Sheraton Move conspiracy which brought in a backdoor, undemocratic and illegitimate government.
Some of these lessons are:
- Serious about implementing election pledges.
Early in the Pakatan Harapan Government, it was the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad who said that the manifesto was not a bible.
As a result, even if 80 or 90 per cent of the election pledges had been implemented in the five-year mandate, damage had been done. It was worse when the five-year mandate of the PH government was cut short in 22 months by the Sheraton Move conspiracy.
DAP does not advocate any de-Chinese, de-Malay, de-Indian, de-Kadazan or de-Iban policy, but the very opposite, to accept that Malaysians will have multiple identities but first and foremost that they are all Malaysians

In the DAP’s 55-year history, it had the victim of many lies, falsehoods and baseless allegations.
The DAP had been falsely accused of being anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Royalty when throughout our history, DAP had remained committed to the Malaysian Dream for the country to become a world-class great nation which is only possible if all Malaysians regardless of race, religion or region are united under the Malaysian Constitution and Rukunegara to build a harmonious, just, democratic, progressive and prosperous plural nation. Five years ago, on June 18, 2016, Pakatan Harapan lost badly in two parliamentary by-elections – one in Sungai Besar and the other in Kuala Kangsar.
The Pakatan Harapan candidate in Sungai Besar by-election, Azhar Abdul Shukor of Amanah lost by a majority of 9,191 votes while in Kuala Kangsar, Ahmad Termizi Ramli of Amanah lost by a majority of 6,969 votes. Read the rest of this entry »
Is the failure of 30-year Vision 2020 for an united Bangsa Malaysia, with a developed, democratic, ethical, liberal, scientific and caring society, a failure of extremism or a failure of moderation in Malaysia?

Malaysia needs a government which is dedicated to fulfilling the Malaysian Dream to restore the national aspiration to become a world-class great nation

There is a lot of thunder and lightning on the Malaysian political scene and the country is undergoing unprecedented number of political intrigues and conspiracies.
But they are not wrestling with the most important issue in Malaysia – which is how to establish a government which is dedicated to fulfilling the Malaysian Dream to restore the national aspiration to become a world-class great nation.
When we achieved Merdeka in 1957, our economy, education, judiciary and civil service, and in some sports, were among the best in the world, but the past six decades we have slipped behind one country after another in these fields while Malaysia had become infamous in areas which would have embarrassed our founding fathers – like becoming “kleptocracy at its worst”!

No reason or excuse for Muhyiddin to refuse to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong to convene Parliament when the third Covid-19 wave is finally coming under control after eight long months – making it one of the longest Covid-19 waves in the world!

I received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Kuala Lumpur this morning – together Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution.
The registration and vaccination against the Covid-19 pandemic must be speeded up so that the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia can be ended as early as possible to allow normality and economic recovery to be launched by the last quarter of the year.
Parliament should be convened to decide that the Covid-19 national vaccination campaign should be accelerated and completed by Malaysia Day on Sept 16. 2021 through an “all-of-government” and “whole-of-society” anti-Covid-19 strategy and approach. Read the rest of this entry »
DAP had never been extremist unless the Malaysian Dream where every citizen is Malaysian first before his or her ethnic, religious or other identities is “extremist”

DAP had never been extremist unless the Malaysian Dream where every citizen is Malaysian first before his or her ethnic, religious or other identities is “extremist”.
The Malaysian Constitution and the Rukun Negara are the basis of the Malaysian plural society, based on constitutional monarchy, federalism, parliamentary democracy, the separation of powers, the rule of law, good governance, public integrity, respect for human right, religious freedom and tolerance.
How far we have veered from these moderate and middle-of-the-road practices is illustrated by the sad fact that we have now Cabinet Ministers who do not subscribe to the nation-building principles spelt out in the Constitution and the Rukun Negara. Read the rest of this entry »
How can we rekindle and re-motivate the hope and inspiration in the Malaysian Dream for the country to be a world-class great nation by ensuring that the 15th General Election to fulfil the high but dashed hopes of the 14th General Election for reform and salvation?

Since the launching of the Theatre Impian in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur last Sunday, I have been waking up at 3 am, 4 am or 5 am with the question – how can we rekindle, re-inspire, re-energize and re-motivate hope and inspiration in the Malaysian Dream for the country to be a world-class great nation by ensuring that the 15th General Election fulfil the high but dashed hopes of the 14th General Election for reform and salvation?
How do we restore the hope and the inspiration in the 14th General Election when Malaysians at home and abroad made the superhuman effort to ensure that their every vote counted and stood tall in the world by performing the political miracle of effecting a peaceful and democratic transition of power for the first time in six decades? Is the Shah Alam High Court decision to quash a preventive detention order which was signed last year by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin who was also acting as home minister at the time using the “glamour name” Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin rather than his government gazetted MyKad name Mahiaddin Md Yasin an example of kakistocracy at its worst?

Emergency Proclamation and Suspension of Parliament not science-based but politics-based decisions purportedly to combat Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia
Posted by Kit in COVID-19, Muhyiddin Yassin, Parliament on Friday, 2 April 2021
The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is considering lifting travel restrictions for those who have completed their Covid-19 vaccination and have been issued a digital certificate proving this.
The Prime Minister is on the right track but all Malaysians are asking why the Prime Minister is not considering convening Parliament and the State Assemblies to mobilise the whole country in a national mobilisation effort for an “all-of-government” and “whole-of-society” strategy and approach in the war against Covid-19 pandemic to bring the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia – one of the longest Covid-19 waves in the world – under control?
In the last three days, the daily increase of new Covid-19 cases have returned to four-digit figures. i.e. 1178, 1483 and 1133 cases, after falling to triple-digit figure for the first time in nearly four months when it registered 941 new cases on March 29. Read the rest of this entry »

I fully agree with Parliamentary Opposition Leader and head of Pakatan Harapan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Pakatan Harapan should focus on the 15th General Election and not obsessed with the numbers game as to who can win the majority in Parliament to become Prime Minister.
When visiting the “Malaysian Dream” Theatre Impian in Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Anwar said Pakatan Harapan should be moving forwards, strengthen the idealism of the people and focus on getting the machinery ready for the battlefield in the next general election to champion the aspirations of the people. Malaysia has descended into a hypo-kakistocracy (hypocrisy-kakistocracy) with the statement by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, that he had advised UMNO Ministers not to quit.
Muhyiddin said he had advised the UMNO Ministers to remain in the Cabinet to take into account the people’s interest and the country.

Malaysia is losing out on private investment because the effort to pursue the Malaysian Dream has slackened in the past year

I was very happy yesterday for my hopes that in March itself Malaysia can break the four-digit daily increase of new Covid-19 cases have come true following the report that the latest daily increase of new Covid-19 cases was 941, the first time new daily increase of cases had fallen below the 1,000 mark since Dec. 9 – falling on the third last day of the month.
But we have still not brought the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia – already one of the longest Covid-19 waves in the world – under control, and my hope is that we can reduce the triple-digit daily increase of new Covid-19 cases to double-digit figures next month in April. Most shocking that Hadi still opposes giving the right to vote to those above 18 years old when I had called for such a right to be given to 18 year-olds in Parliament fifty years ago

I am thoroughly shocked that the PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang still opposes giving the right to vote to those above 18 years old when I had called for such a right in Parliament 50 years ago on Human Rights Day on 10th December 197l.
This means that when Hadi voted for the constitutional amendment in 2019 giving voting rights to Malaysians above 18 years old, it was not a genuine vote of support.
Supporting the delay in the implementation of the 2019 parliamentary unanimous vote for the constitutional amendment to give the right to vote to those above 18 years in the next general election, Hadi said voting needs maturity and that voters who are not mature will pick an immature government. The 55 years in Malaysian politics since the end of 1965 had been quite a journey in pursuit of the Malaysian Dream.

Muhyiddin owes Tan KS and Mani Vannan apology for not allowing them home quarantine to perform their filial duties and the continuation of Dua Darjat disease

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin owe airline pilot Tan KS and Mani Yannan apology for not allowing them home quarantine to perform their filial duties while Deputy Federal Territories Minister Edward Santhara was able to benefit from the “Dua Darjat” abuse of power and undergo home quarantine after his controversial New Zealand trip.
Can the Prime Minister give an assurance to all Malaysians that all Dua Darjat abuse of power in the war against Covid-19 pandemic would cease?
