#kerajaangagal109 – Is the Covid-19 exit plan Muhyiddin’s distraction ploy from the SIEC issue?

Why should the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin be now talking about a National Recovery Plan in preparation for the country to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic?
Is it Muhyiddin’s distraction ploy from the Special Independent Emergency Committee (SIEC) issue triggered by his de facto Law Minister, Takiyuddin Hassan as to whether SIEC would be the only authoritative body to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong whether to extend the emergency on August 1, 2021? #kerajaangagal108 – Takiyuddin’s backtrack is not good enough when Muhyiddin continues to keep his silence on whether the SIEC will be the only authoritative body, and not the Cabinet or designated Minister, to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong on whether to extend the emergency on August 1

The de facto Law Minister, Takiyuddin Hassan, has backtracked from his stand that it is the Cabinet’s responsibility to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong whether or not the emergency should be extended, but this is not good enough so long as the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddihn Yassin keeps his silence on whether the Special Independent Emergency Committee (SIEC) will be the only authoritative body, and not the Cabinet or designated Minister, to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong on whether to extend the emergency on August 1, 2021.
I would advise the entire 19-member Special Independent Committee headed by Arifin Zakaria to ask for a meeting with the Prime Minister and secure an assurance from him that it is the SIEC and not the Cabinet or designated Minister who will advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong on whether to extend the emergency on August 1 and that that this issue would not be the crown of all Covid-19 SOP flip-flops, U-turns and double-standards by the Perikatan Nasional government. In the era of 24/7, the 24-hour silence of the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on a vital constitutional issue like the extension of the emergency is a most extraordinary thing.
Is it because the Prime Minister is out of his depth on the constitutional issue and uncertain of the import of what he said in his national telecast on January 12, 2021 about the Special Independent Committee to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong on whether the emergency proclamation of January 11, 2021 is to be extended or ended, or whether it is because this is the crown of all SOP flips-flops, U-turns and double-standards by the Perikatan Nasional Government in the last 18 months since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic or is it because the Prime Minister could not get the Attorney-General to advise him on this vital constitutional issue on a Sunday? The de facto Law Minister, Takiyuddin Hassan is talking bunkum.
Where is the Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin? Does he understand what he announced in his national telecast on January 12, 2021?

Malaysia seems to moving towards a serious constitutional crisis.
The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, should not move the goalpost from his national telecast on January 12 that the Special Independent Committee and not the Cabinet or the designated Minister will advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong on whether the emergency declared on January 11 will be extended on August 1, 2021.

#kerajaangagal103 – Can Hamzah impose his will on the Muhyiddin Cabinet that Parliament can only meet when herd immunity against coronavirus is achieved?
Posted by Kit in COVID-19, Parliament on Saturday, 12 June 2021
(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)
It is most intriguing why the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is keeping so quiet on the bizarre idea of the Home Minister, Hamzah Zainuddin that the Malaysian Parliament can only meet when herd immunity against Covid-19 is achieved by the end of the year.
Hamzah first came out with this bizarre idea last Friday on 4th June and it was regarded as quite a looney one. I had observed that it was fortunate that Hamzah’s idea had not “infected” the rest of the world or it would be the death knell for democracy. Read the rest of this entry »
#kerajaangagal102 – Muhyiddin must make clear whether Hamzah’s bizarre idea that Parliament can only meet when herd immunity against coronavirus is achieved represents government policy

Clearly, the Home Minister, Hamzah Zainuddin has not given up his bizarre idea that Parliament will only sit after the country has achieved herd immunity against Covid-19 virus.
Today, he poured cold water on a proposal to set up a hybrid Parliament during the emergency and publicly humiliated not only the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Parlaiment), Taikiyyuddin Hassan, who announced the proposal for a hybrid Parliament, but also the Dewan Rakyat speaker, Dewan Negara president, the Dewan Negara deputy president, both deputy speakers of the Dewan Rakyat, and Parliament’s chief administrator who are currently studying the proposal. #kerajaangagal101 – the series of #kerajaangagal hashtag media statements will end when Parliament is convened

When I started on the #kerajaangagal hashtag media statements on Sunday, 18th April 2021, I had no idea how many such statements I would be writing.
But I found no difficulty whatsoever in writing #kerajaangagal media statements, sometimes two or even three a day, as examples of a failed and kakistocratic administration, especially in the mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic, were aplenty. Read the rest of this entry »
#kerajaangagal100 — why the bloated Muhyiddin Cabinet is the most irrelevant and inconsequential in Malaysian history?
Posted by Kit in Muhyiddin Yassin, Parliament on Thursday, 10 June 2021
(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)
In his apologia yesterday for the failed kakistocratic Muhyiddin government, the principal private secretary to the Prime Minister, Marzuki Mohamad, tried to explain why the National Operations Council (NOC), as proposed by some quarters, is not suitable in Malaysia’s current fight against Covid-19 and its efforts to revive the economy.
He claimed that there is at present “a working and functioning Cabinet” which convenes every Wednesday and many decisions are made not only related to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also in regards to the country’s administration, economic management, people’s welfare, finance, security, defence, education, international relations and other matters related to the overall governing of the country. The convening of a special Conference of Rulers on June 16 on the Covid-19 pandemic initiated by the Yang di Pertuan Agong deserves the support of all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or politics, as the worsening Covid-19 situation in Malaysia must be the concern of all, including the royalty.
In the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, all will agree that the worst countries in handling the Covid-19 pandemic were the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Spain, Brazil and Mexico.

Malaysia must learn from China and the United States on how to accelerate and complete the national vaccination rollout by Malaysia Day on Sept. 16, 2021 by bringing vaccine to the people rather than people to the vaccine.
The Minister co-ordinating vaccines Khairy Jamaluddin has said that Malaysia breached its target of administering 150,000 daily Covid-19 vaccinations yesterday, comprising 105,722 for first doses and the remaining 45,587 receiving their second doses.

It is more than ten days since the announcement by the Home Minister, Hamzah Zainuddin contradicting the Minister co-ordinating vaccines, Khairy Jamaluddin, of operations against undocumented migrants for breach of the Covid-19 SOPs but the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had been very quiet on this important issue which could decide whether the national vaccination rollout would be a failure or whether Malaysia could achieve herd immunity against Covid and break the back of the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Feb 16, Khairy said undocumented foreign nationals will not be arrested when they come forward for Covid-19 vaccinations, adding that this assurance was crucial in ensuring herd immunity was achieved. Read the rest of this entry »

The Muhyiddin Cabinet should heed the signal from the Pahang Istana that Members of Parliament and State Assembly persons have an Important role to play to bring the Covid-19 pandemic under control.
It is the most powerful repudiation of the very self-serving view that Parliament should not be reconvened unless the country achieves herd immunity against Covid-19, especially in a situation where no one authority, whether the Prime Minister,
Muhyiddin Yassin or the Minister co-ordinating vaccines, Khairy Jamaluddin dare to make public their time-line for the country achieving herd immunity. Read the rest of this entry »
