#kerajaangagal80 — Call on all Malaysians to unite as one people to be disciplined, to avoid the 3Cs and practise the 3Ws, so that the MCO 3.0 is the last MCO in Malaysia in the war against Covid-19 pandemic and prove that we can learn from the United States and India to become a better performing nation after being a failure in Covid-19 pandemic

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

I could not believe my eyes when I checked the world-o-meter table for the Covid-19 cases for each country yesterday.

The United States, which was the world’s worst nation in the Covid-19 pandemic for over a year as to have a cumulative total of over 34 million cases and over 600,000 fatalities, was recording a daily increase of over 100,000 new Covid-19 cases for three months and a daily fatality of over 2,000 deaths also for three long months.

It reached its daily peak of new Covid-19 cases on January 8, 2021 when it registered 304,248 cases and its daily peak of fatalities on 12th January 2021 when it registered 4,482 deaths.

Yesterday, the United States registered a daily increase of 7,750 cases — a drop of 97.5% from its peak of 304,248 cases on January 8, and a daily increase of 124 new
Covid-19 deaths — a drop of 97.3% from its peak of 4,482 deaths on 12th January 2021! Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal79 — Convene Parliament to evoke the Dunkirk Spirit among Malaysians to unite and prevail over the Covid-19 crisis

The lament of the Health Director-General Noor Hisham Abdulalh that there is heavy traffic out of Klang Valley before the total lockdown on Tuesday despite the inter-district travel ban and the fear that the health system is facing paralysis is part of a larger problem — the inability of the Muhyiddin government to restore public trust and confidence and the failure to have a “whole-of-society” strategy and approach in the 17-month war against Covid-19 pandemic.

We have not been able to evoke the “Dunkirk spirit”, the nation’s ability to come together with courage and resourcefulness to get through a crisis, because the government has become a kakistocracy and the government leaders do not inspire the people with trust and confidence. #kerajaangagal77 — After Tajuddin’s sacking, who will next get sacked for Malaysia’s failure of an emergency in the 17-month war against Covid-19 pandemic compelling a total lockdown of the country?

After Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s sacking as Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chairman, who will next get sacked for Malaysia’s failure of an emergency in the 17-month war against Covid-19 pandemic compelling a total lockdown of the country?

When Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was sworn in as Prime Minister on March 1, 2020 after the Sheraton Move conspiracy toppled the democratically-elected Pakatan Harapan government in 22 months, there were 29 Covid-19 cases and zero
Covid-19 deaths. Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal76 — CITF should consider incentives to accelerate the national vaccination rollout to ensure that vaccination does not become the nation’s Achilles’ Heel in the Covid-19 Pandemic when it is definitely a game-changer although it may not be the silver bullet to end the pandemic

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The public unhappiness, frustration and anger was palpable and tangible in the many MySejahtera technical difficulties faced by the people seeking an appointment to receive Astra Zeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday.

Although the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) has apologised for the confusion and technical hitches, it has yet to regain public trust and confidence.

The question is whether the CITF has learnt any lesson from the poor website architecture on Tuesday, as no head is rolling over the technical and system problems of the MySejahtera app. Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal75 — Arifai Tarawe acted rightly in withdrawing RM10 million suit against FMT

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The outgoing Gombak police chief Arifai Tarawe acted rightly in withdrawing the RM10 million suit against FMT for such an action is consistent with the police claim that it has nothing to hide over A. Ganapathy’s death.

Arifai, who is due to be transferred to Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department on June 21, should ensure that there will be an inquest into A. Ganapathy’s death in police custody.

#kerajaangagal74 — Arifin Zakaria should ask the Independent Special Committee on Emergency 2021 to consider whether it should ask the Prime Minister to end the emergency not only because the emergency is a failure but because it is not a solution to combat Covid-19 pandemic

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

In response by the query by the Pakatan Harapan presidential council, the Independent Special Committee on Emergency 2021 said it has agreed to several “criteria and threshold” in reviewing whether the state of emergency should be continued or not.

However, the committee did not elaborate on the details of the criteria and threshold they agreed to.

#kerajaangagal73 — Full endorsement of Deputy Speaker, Azalina Othman’s reiterated call for the reconvening of Parliament

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

I fully endorse the Deputy Speaker, Azalina Othman Said’s reiterated call today for the recovening of Parliament.

I also full endorse her seven-point recommendation on standing operating procedures (SOPs) for Parliament in the war against Covid-19 pandemic, viz:

  1. To minimise Covid-19 risks: Ensure that all parliamentary staffers are vaccinated including all MPs and senators.
  2. To minimise unwarranted “drama” in Parliament: No “no confidence” in Parliament during the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic and no early general election unless pandemic is controlled and herd immunity of at least 50 percent is achieved.

#kerajaangagal72 – Vaccines may not be the silver bullet to end the Covid-19 pandemic but it is undoubtedly a game-changer as seen by the examples of USA and UK

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Malaysia is having the worst of both worlds in the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the first 12 months of the pandemic, when the United States and the European nations were the worst-hit nations, Malaysia climbed from the ranking of No. 83 in November 2020 to be ranked No. 42 among nations with the most cumulative total of Covid-19 cases. Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal71 – As Tajuddin will quit when UMNO says so, does this mean that UMNO supreme council does not think Tajuddin’s conduct was insensitive enough and UMNO’s political considerations must prevail?

I am rather intrigued by the statement by the former UMNO leader and Prime Minister who said that Tajuddin Abdul Rahman will apologise for his gaffes and being insensitive at a press conference yesterday on the LRT accident but will resign as Prasarana chairperson “as soon as the Umno supreme council orders all Umno members to let go of their positions at an appropriate time”.

Does this mean that the UMNO supreme council does not think that Tajuddin’s gaffes and insensitivity at his infamous press conference was insensitive enough, and that what was more important were UMNO supreme council’s “political considerations” and UMNO’s political considerations must prevail?

#kerajaangagal70 – The Yang di Pertuan Agong should host an All-Party All-NGOs Conference on the Covid-19 Pandemic to avoid Malaysia from becoming an international poster boy of a nation losing the war against the Covid-19 pandemic

Before Hari Raya Aidilfirtri, Malaysians were sorely offended when the Indonesian Government used Malaysia, together with India, in its admonishment as two countries Indonesians should not emulate for the mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic in its advice to Indonesians to stay home and to take precautions about Covid-19 in the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays.

Now Malaysia has together with India become the two international poster boys of failure in the handling of Covid-19 pandemic, although this is unfair to India, as it had been on a sharp decline since its peak of daily increase of 414,422 new Covid-19 cases on May 6, which fell 53% to a daily increase of 195,815 new Covid-19 cases on 14th May 2021.

#kerajaangagal69: What a contrast – Noor Hisham warning Malaysians to be prepared for the worst in the Covid-19 pandemic while the worst country in the world in the pandemic, the United States with 34 million Covid-19 cases and over 600,000 Covid-19 deaths, looking forward to the end of the pandemic!

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

What a contrast – the Health Director-General Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah warning Malaysians to be prepared for the worst in the Covid-19 pandemic while the worst country in the world in the pandemic, the United States with 34 million Covid-19 cases and over 600,000 Covid-19 deaths, looking forward to the end of the pandemic!

This is the extent of the failure of Malaysia in the mishandling of the war against the Covid-19 pandemic in the last 17 months – akin to the horrible Light Rail Transit (LRT) collision in Kuala Lumpur because a negligent driver drove the LRT in the wrong direction, resulting in three passengers suffering brain haemorrhage, a systemic failure which should never have happened. #kerajaangagal67 – Khairy should approve the two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Penang to give Yong Chee Kong a chance to redeem himself and deliver on his claim

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The minister-in-charge of Covid-19 vaccination, Khairy Jamaluddin should approve the two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Penang to give businessman Yong Chee Kong a chance to redeem himself and deliver on his claim.

Yesterday, Yong clarified that the formal letter on behalf of him to the Penang state government pledging to donate two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine was written by a staff member from his company and not by Penang DAP as he had said earlier and he made an apology over the matter.

Yong said that if he could get the approval letter from the government for the two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, his “boss” was still willing to donate the vaccines to the people of Penang. Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal66 – Malaysia beating the world’s top ten countries with the most cumulative total of Covid-19 cases on Sunday in the category of “confirmed cases per million” is a great dishonour and shame for the country

Malaysia beating the world’s top ten countries with the most cumulative total of Covid-19 cases on Sunday in the category of “confirmed cases per million” is a great dishonour and shame for the country.

These statistics are available on the Our World In Data website. For Sunday, 23rd May 2021, the “daily confirmed cases per million” for Malaysia and the top 10 countries with the most cumulative total of Covid-19 cases are as follows: Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal65 – Muhyiddin should be mindful of the 18-rung freefall of Malaysia’s press freedom index and remind his bloated Cabinet to follow his example of tolerating critics including those who call him “stupid”

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, should be mindful of the 18-rung freefall of Malaysia’s 2021 press freedom index and remind his bloated Cabinet to follow his example of tolerating critics including those who call him “stupid”.

It is most unfortunate that the clampdown on press freedom has happened under the charge of the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Saifuddin Abdullah, who had always presented himself as a liberal and open-minded person who would be in the forefront to champion press freedom instead of doing the very opposite. #kerajaangagal64 – Police should learn from the Prime Minister to be less stiff and stuffy or are the Police going to charge social media users for sedition if they had called the police “stupid” in the “Nilai3 in Selangor” incident?

The Police should learn from the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to be less stiff and stuffy or are the Police going to charge social media users for sedition if they had called the police “stupid” in the “Nilai3 is in Selangor” incident?

Muhyiddin said in a special telecast last night that people can scold the Prime Minister “stupid” in the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, that it’s okay and he would say it on television.

But can the people scold the police “stupid” when they were “stupid”? Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal63 – Prime Minister Muhyiddin has presided over a war of failure against the Covid-19 pandemic for 15 months, from 29 Covid-19 cases and zero death on March 1, 2020 to 512,091 Covid-19 cases and 2,249 deaths – is this not enough evidence to demand a new start in the war?

The Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said he was prepared to take abuse from the public amid frustration over measures against Covid-19 but urged people to play their part in bringing the pandemic under control.

He said: “They can blame the government. They can scold the prime minister. I accept. Scold ‘stupid prime minister’, it’s okay. I can say it on television. Read the rest of this entry »
