#kerajaangagal128 – A day of national shame when the daily increase of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia exceeds that of the United States of America
(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)
It is a day of national shame when the daily increase of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia exceeds that of the United States of America.
Yesterday, Malaysia had an increase of 5,293 new Covid-19 cases, while the United States of America, the world’s worst performing state with a cumulative total of 34.4 million cases and 617,166 Covid-19 deaths, had an increase of 4,422 new Covid-19 cases – some 1,500 cases less than Malaysia.

#kerajaangagal127 –PAS Ministers opposing the two conclusions of the Yang di Pertuan Agong and the Special Conference of Rulers meeting on Covid-19 pandemic is consistent with PAS’ reservations about the five nation-building principles of Rukunegara

So far, only two PAS Ministers have come out with public positions contradictory to the two conclusions of the Yang di Pertuan Agong and the Special Conference of Rulers meeting on Covid-19: firstly, Parliament and the State Assemblies should be convened as soon as possible, and secondly, there is no need for the emergency to extend beyond August 1, 2021.
It has not come as a surprise that PAS Ministers oppose the two conclusions of the Yang di Pertuan Agong and the Special Conference of Rulers meeting on June 16, 2021 as this is consistent with PAS’ reservations about the five nation-building principles of Rukun Negara. #kerajaangagal126 – It is not enough for Muhyiddin to promise to involve the Opposition in studying the reconvening of Parliament and whether it should be hybrid Parliament form, but he must give a commitment to convene Parliament before August 1

It is not enough for the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to promise to involve the Opposition in the study of the reconvening of Parliament and whether it should be held in hybrid Parliament mode, but he must give a commitment to convene Parliament before August 1 to assure the nation that the Executive is not sabotaging the hopes of the Yang di Pertuan Agong and the Rulers to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister’s undertaking will be meaningless if Parliament is only convened in September or October under Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan, subject to three conditions: an average of less than 2,000 Covid-19 cases daily, sufficient ICU capacity and up to 40 percent of the population fully vaccinated. We are fighting an invisible but lethal war against the Covid-19 pandemic and so far there have been more than 4,300 in Malaysia as a result of this war.
This is in fact a world war – for it has claimed more than 3.8 million lives in the whole word in the last 18 months.

#kerajaaangagal123 – The PMO’s three-paragraph statement had said more things than if it was a three-page statement
Posted by Kit in COVID-19, Emergency, Parliament on Sunday, 20 June 2021
The Prime Minister’s Office’s three-paragraph statement on the Conference of Rulers’ special meeting on Wednesday had said more things than if it was a three-page statement.
Four days have passed, and there are no indications that there will be any emergency Cabinet meeting on the two conclusions of the Conference of Rulers’ special meeting on Wednesday: first, that Parliament and the State Assemblies should be convened “as soon as possible” and second, there is no need for the extension of the emergency beyond August 1, 2021. #kerajaangagal122 – Ten things Malaysia should do to win the invisible but lethal war against Covid-19 pandemic
Malaysia has suddenly catapulted to be one of the world’s worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic.
Countries which have previously been regarded as the world’s worst performing nations have turned the corner and are addressing the Covid-19 pandemic in a more effective fashion as compared to Malaysia.

The Dewan Rakyat Standing Orders provide that the Prime Minister will decide, at least 28 days in advance, when the Dewan Rakyat should meet, which means that tomorrow Sunday 20th June 2021 is the deadline for the Prime Minister to convene Parliament on July 19 and comply with the Dewan Rakyat Standing Orders on the 28 days’ requisite notice.

The Minister co-ordinating Covid-19 vaccines, Khairy Jamaluddin announced yesterday that he had abandoned the objective to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19 by vaccinating 80 per cent of the population.

#kerajaangagal117 – Call for a one-year political moratorium which can be extended to two years where there is only one national priority – to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure that Covid-19 fatalities do not exceed 5,000 deaths

These are my personal views.
I have said that Malaysians can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel of the 18-month Covid-19 pandemic with the Conference of Rulers special meeting yesterday.
It now allows Malaysia, which has suddenly becoming one of the world’s top worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic while countries which had hogged the world limelight in the first 12 months of the pandemic have turned a corner and doing quite well in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with their national vaccination rollouts, an opportunity to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Malaysians have finally seen light at the end of the tunnel of the 18-month Covid-19 pandemic with the Conference of Rulers special meeting yesterday.
It has ended the various speculations and theories including those with dubious constitutional basis and legitimacy on how the country is to negotiate the constitutional impasse where no person seems to command a clear majority in Parliament while the country is faced with an existential threat by the Covid-19 pandemic – with Malaysia suddenly becoming one of the world’s top worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic while countries which had hogged the world limelight in the first 12 months of the pandemic have turned a corner and doing quite well in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with their national vaccination rollouts. The Prime Minister’s chief private secretary Marzuki Mohamad’s memorandum to all civil servants to utilise the Prime Minister’s legal name, Mahiaddin Md Yasin for all government documents raises the question whether Muhyiddin also known as Mahiaddin needs to take a new oath of office before the Yang di Pertuan Agong to be Prime Minister of Malaysia.
It also raises the questions whether Muhyiddin also known as Mahiaddin had been properly sworn in as Member of Parliament for Pagoh and Johore State Assemblyman for Gambir. Read the rest of this entry »
#kerajaangagal114 – Were MPs given priority for vaccination not to enable them to perform their constitutional role of check-and-balance of the Executive to ensure good governance but to provide the excuse for Ministers and Deputy Ministers to be vaccinated?

Under the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s National Recovery Plan, Parliament is scheduled to meet in September or October when the country enters Phase Three of the government’s Covid-19 exit plan, when there is an average of less than 2,000 Covid-19 cases daily, sufficient ICU capacity and up to 40 percent of the population fully vaccinated.
Two questions come to mind: Firstly, were MPs given priority for vaccination not to enable them to perform their constitutional role to perform check-and-balance role of the Executive to ensure that there is good governance, effective and efficient government and the rule of law but to provide the excuse for Ministers and Deputy Ministers to be vaccinated? The “flying car” Minister, who made everyone squirm when he opened his mouth when he was in Pakatan Harapan Government, is right this time – no need for a National Operations Council (NOC) but crucial to reconvene Parliament as soon as possible.
May be this was the reason why he was sidelined and excluded from the National Security Council; (NSC) meetings on the Covid-19 disaster, although he is the Minister in charge of the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma). Read the rest of this entry »
