The next two tests to determine whether the Anwar unity government can last the full term of five years are:
- The May/June meeting of Parliament; and
- The general election in the six states of Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
15th Parliament should realize Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman’s aspiration for Malaysia to be “a beacon of light in a difficult and distracted world” by being a role model to the world for inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance, and harmony

Surprised that there are casinos in Middle East, and UAE is building a casino which will be one of the ten biggest casinos in the world
The reports of the Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister, Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah telling PAS there was nothing wrong with setting up a casino in Sarawak and that “Sarawak not just for Muslims” sent me on an Internet search and I was surprised to learn that there are casinos in the Middle East and that UAE is building a casino which will be one of the ten biggest casinos in the world when it is opened in 2026.

The three week meeting of Parliament in May/June will be a make-and-break session for the Anwar unity government.
I wish Hadi Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri — does he agree that Malaysia should be model for the world of inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisational understanding, tolerance, and harmony

I was sitting down to write my Hari Raya Aidilfitri message to Malaysians, Muslims and non-Muslims, when I read PAS President, Hadi Awang’s ferocious attack on the DAP and me.
Is there a replacement for Vision 2020 and Bangsa Malaysia, which had inspired and united Malaysians for over a decade, to inspire and unite Malaysians for the next three decades to world-class standards and achievements?

Is there a replacement for Vision 2020 and a Bangsa Malaysa, which had inspired and united Malaysians for over a decade, to inspire and unite Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, for the next three decades to world-class standards and achievements?
It is sad and tragic that Vision 2020 and Bangsa Malaysia have failed, but it is sadder and more tragic that the creator of Vision 2020 and the concept of Bangsa Malaysia has repudiated them, relapsing to very racist rhetorics which could only end up in Malaysia becoming a divided, failed, and kleptocratic state in the future.

The IPSOS survey that two-thirds of Malaysians believe the country is on the right track five months after 15th General Election is a positive development and an external vote of confidence in Anwar unity government, matching last December’s parliamentary vote of confidence in the Anwar unity government.
Parliament in the May-June meeting should lead the nation with a motion to save Malaysia by a reset and return to the original nation-building principles of a plural Malaysia to become a model state to the world of inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisational understanding, tolerance, and harmony instead of ending up as a divided, failed, and kleptocratic state

I fully support the idea of the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, in Kuantan yesterday that Malaysians have been offered an opportunity to save Malaysia which must not be missed or Malaysia will end up as a failed state.
Let the Cabinet make history tomorrow by doing a quartet — declassifying the reports of the CEP, IRC, and the Hishammuddin special committee on management of foreign workers, as well as lifting the ban on the book “The Golden Son of the Kadazan”

Let the Cabinet make history tomorrow by doing a quartet by declassifying the reports of Council of Eminent Persons (CEP), the Institutional Reform Committee (IRC), and the Hishammuddin Yunus special committee on management of foreign workers, as well as lifting the ban on Bernard Sta Maria’s book “The Golden Son of the Kadazan”.
I want Anwar Unity Government to succeed which means I want UMNO to be stronger than both PAS and Bersatu
I do not believe that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s pardon would be able to rejuvenate Umno after the party’s defeat in the last two elections not because I fear Najib.
Future of Malaysia — to be a model state for the world of a successful plural nation or be to a divided, failed, and kleptocratic state

All Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, should be concerned about the future of Malaysia — is it to be a model state for the world as a successful plural nation or to be a divided, failed, and kleptocratic state.
There is not a day since my retirement from front-line politics more than a year ago that I have not thought about the future of Malaysia
I declined DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke’s proposal that I become DAP mentor after I announced my retirement from front-line politics last March, partly because I believe that the DAP was in good hands under a younger generation of DAP leaders but also because I want to establish that when I expressed my views, it was not the DAP’s official views but the views of one person, Lim Kit Siang.
Another 45-year wrong to be immediately rectified by Saifuddin — lift the ban on “The Golden Son of the Kadazan”
The Home Minister, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail should be commended for his instruction for fresh investigations “on an urgent basis” into the claim that the National Registration Department (NRD) had seized the MyKad of an elderly cancer patient in Sarawak, Lina (Samuel), and his undertaking that he would expedite reissuing a MyKad to Lina if she is able to prove that she was born in Malaysia.
Lessons from the wrongful 47-year Official Secret classification of the Double-Six Nomad Crash investigation report
The investigation report into the Double-Six Nomad Crash should never have been classified under the Official Secrets Act and should have been made public 47 years ago in 1976 as its declassification reveals no public security aspect to justify its classification under the Official Secrets Act for nearly five decades.
Fighting corruption and restoring an independent judiciary are two key core principles which cannot be compromised by the Anwar unity government
I said yesterday that the chances of the Anwar unity government can last the full term of five years is positive, but it must not self-destruct by embarking on polices which are totally at variance with its core values and the principles of the original nation-building principles for a plural Malaysia which had the support of the first four UMNO Presidents.
Anwar Unity Government can self-destruct if it embarked on policies which are totally at variance with its core values

Yesterday, I expressed confidence that the Anwar Unity Government can survive for five years and graded the survival chances as follows:
- 90% it can survive for one year;
- 80% it can survive for three years; and
- 70% it can survive for the full term of five years.
Can Anwar survive five years as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia?

Can Anwar Ibrahim survive five years as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia?
This is a question which Malaysians must constantly ask themselves for the next five years, unless Anwar is toppled before five years.
Anwar has passed the three tests of the eight-week Dewan Rakyat meeting while the Perikatan Nasional leaders and MPs have failed in their efforts to try to topple the Anwar unity government and further polarise the nation through heightened and untruthful race and religious rhetorics

The eight-week meeting of the Dewan Rakyat ended last Thursday — with the 10th Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim passing the three tests of the eight-week Dewan Rakyat meeting while the Perikatan Nasiohal (PN) leaders and MPs failed in trying to topple the Anwar Unity Government and to further polarise the nation through heightened and untruthful race and religious rhetorics.
Malaysian politics have fallen to a new low when political leaders from the Opposition make preposterous allegations about Islamophobia and Malaysians selling organs to survive with no respect for integrity of information or truth
Malaysian politics have fallen to a new low when political leaders from the Opposition make preposterous allegations about Islamophobia and Malaysians selling organs to survive with no respect for integrity of information or truth.
PAS President Hadi Awang made the wild and preposterous allegation that the DAP was promoting Islamophobia but despite being repeatedly challenged, he has not been able for five months to offer an iota of evidence to substantiate his most serious allegation.
Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Wan Saiful should be referred to the Committee of Privileges for misrepresenting the “powers and privileges” of the Dewan Rakyat in exonerating Muhyiddin, Hadi, and Hamzah for playing truant at all the PMQTs during the eight-week Parliament from February to April

The PAS Deputy President, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has joined the former Bersatu Information chief, Wan Saiful Wan Jan to defend the indefensible to exonerate the truancy of the three Perikatan Nasonal (PN) leaders — Muhyiddin Yassin, Hadi Awang, and Hamzah Zainudin — from Parliament during the Prime Minister’s Question time (PMQT) for eight long weeks from February to April 2023.
