We must highlight “Ketuanan Malaysia” instead of “Ketuanan Melayu” if we are to return to the nation-building principles and policies embedded in the original Constitution and Rukun Negara and as agreed by the nation’s founding fathers if we are not to be left behind in the sands of time

An ethnic Indian may become the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom to replace Boris Johnson.

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is at present the front-runner in a race that has been reduced to four Conservative leaders – one man and three women. One of the women, Kemi Badenock is an ethnic Nigerian.

Ongkili and the two Pairin brothers must explain their 72-hour eerie and inexplicable silence on the proposal for a Council of present and former Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Minsters, Sabah Assembly members and Parliamentarians to resolve the 50-year Nightmare of Sabah Illegal Immigrants with voting rights

(Versi BM)

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office on Sabah and Sarawak, Maximus Ongkili and the two Pairin brothers, Joseph and Jeffrey, must explain their 72-hour eerie and inexplicable silence on the proposal for a Council of present and former Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Minsters, Sabah Assembly members and Parliamentarians to resolve the 50-year Nightmare of Sabah Illegal Immigrants with voting rights.

Is their silence because the trio think that the proposal would not resolve the Nightmare of Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights, and if so, why? Read the rest of this entry »

I am prepared to work with Najib Razak for the good of the country not for a portion of the 1MDB riches but first of all he must condemn the 1MDB scandal and declare his stand against Malaysia becoming a kleptocracy

(Versi BM)

In my six decades of political life, I have always been guided by the view that human personalities must not be seen in pure black and white but in different shades of grey.

There are no angels among men and women but it is wrong see anyone as the very embodiment of evil. Read the rest of this entry »

AG’s confirmation of Jho Low’s RM1.5 billion offer attempting to settle the 1MDB charges against him is final evidence that the 1MDB scandal exists and not a fairy tale – what more evidence does UMNO, MCA and MIC leaders need?

(Versi BM)

The Attorney-General Chambers’ (AGC) confirmation that fugitive business person Low Taek Jho had attempted to reach a settlement with the government over the 1MDB charges with a RM1.5 billion offer is final evidence that the 1MDB scandal exists and not a fairy tale.

Let me ask the UMNO, MCA and MIC leaders: what more evidence do they need? Read the rest of this entry »

Why I declined to be in the Pakatan Harapan Cabinet

(Versi BM)

There is at present an aggressive demonization campaign to make Malaysians believe that the 22-month Pakatan Harapan Government was responsible for all the woes and crisis of the country.

But is this so. Read the rest of this entry »

Ongkili and the two Pairin brothers must co-operate with all Sabah political leaders, whether in government or opposition, to resolve the 50-year Nightmare to Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights before the 60th anniversary of formation of Malaysia on Sept. 16 next year

(Versi BM)

The PBS President and Federal Minister in charge of Sabah and Sarawak, Maximus Ongkili and the two Pairin brothers, Deputy Chief Minister Jeffrey Pairin and the Huguan Siou or Kadazandusun Murut paramount leader, Joseph Pairin, must co-operate with all Sabah political leaders, whether in government or opposition, to resolve the 50-year Nightmare of Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights before the 60th anniversary of formation of Malaysia on Sept. 16 next year.

It is most regrettable that Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) yesterday completely ignored the 50-year Nightmare of the Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights when it formed three committees yesterday to empower the party.

Call for a Council comprising Sabah Chief Minister and ex-Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Minister and ex-Deputy Chief Ministers, current and former Sabah State Assembly members and MPs to resolve the 50-year nightmare of illegal immigrants with voting rights before 60th Anniversary of formation of Malaysia on 16th September 2023

Before this forum, I was told that former Sabah Chief Minister for nine years (1985 – 1994) and former Deputy Chief Minister for 14 years (2004-2018) was one of the earliest Colombo Plan scholars from Sabah.

But look at what has happened to Colombo. The residences of the Chief Minister and Cabinet Ministers of Sri Lanka were burnt by enraged supporters and the Sri Lanka President had to flee the country for his life. Read the rest of this entry »

What Malaysia can learn from Sri Lanka?

(Versi BM)

It is painful and humiliating to see the agony of Sri Lanka – how a country which some seventy years ago during my school days was regarded as a “jewel” of
South Asia had embarked on the road to ruin and destruction, ending as a bankrupt nation and a failed state, with the people burning not only the residences of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers, but the President had to flee his presidential residence and the country to escape the wrath of the people after a more-than-72-hours stand-off with immigration personnel at the airport.

What is the lesson Malaysia can learn from Sri Lanka?

Will Zahid sack Prime Minister Ismail Sabri from UMNO if the Registrar of Societies (ROS) does not approve the UMNO constitutional amendment to further postpone UMNO party election until after the 15GE?

(Versi BM)

The question that is being asked by politically-aware Malaysians is whether the UMNO President, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the former UMNO President and former Prime Minister, Najib Razak, will sack Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri from UMNO if the Registrar of Societies (ROS) does not approve the UMNO constitutional amendment to further postpone UMNO party election until after the 15th General Election.

UMNO Secretary-General Ahmad Maslan said yesterday that apart from complying with the ROS and hold its internal election as required, UMNO has a ‘Plan B’ if the ROS rejects the UMNO constitutional amendment, although he declined to reveal what ‘Plan B’ is. Read the rest of this entry »

Ongkili should not get the wrong end of the stick – he should realise that resolving the 50-year nightmare of Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights is the first and most important step to fulfil MA63 conditions for Sabah

(Versi BM)

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Maximus Ongkili should not get the wrong end of the stick – he should realise that resolving the 50-year nightmare of Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights is the first and most important step to fulfil the MA63 conditions for Sabah.

Ongkili has been a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Sabah and Sarawak affairs for more than two years. Read the rest of this entry »

More Malaysians apart from Abang Johari and Daim Zainuddin should speak up on what went wrong in six decades of Malaysian nation-building which is related to the question whether Malaysia can be saved to become a world-class great nation before Malaysia’s Centennial instead of becoming a failed state like Sri Lanka

(Versi BM)

Yesterday Sarawak Premier Abang Johari and former Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin spoke up on what went wrong in six decades of Malaysian nation-building which is related to the question whether Malaysia can be saved to become a world-class great nation instead of becoming a failed state like Sri Lanka.

Abang Johari said UMNO Deputy Chairman Mohamad Hasan’s proposal about a New Malaysia should never be brought up as what is needed is the implementation of the conditions enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 which was fundamental to the establishment of Malaysia and the results of the Inter-Governmental Committee report. Call for an overall review of Federal-State relations in Malaysia to effect greater decentralisation and confer greater autonomy from Putrajaya to all state governments, not just Sarawak and Sabah

I agree with the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar that the proposal by the UMNO Deputy Chariman Mohamad Hassan to have a new Malaysia Agreement is “nonsense” as the existing Malaysia Agreement 1963, known as MA63, is a commitment that had been agreed upon by all quarters for the formation of the Federation of Malaysia.

I also agree with Wan Junaidi that what is being demanded by Sabah and Sarawak now is not to renegotiate the existing agreement but the fulfilment of matters that have already been agreed upon. Read the rest of this entry »

Has Tok Mat bitten off more than he could chew?

(Versi BM)

Has UMNO Deputy President Mohamad Hasan bitten off more than he could chew in his interview with Asia Times, which is not helped by the explanation of the newest UMNO Supreme Council member, Isham Jalil, that Tok Mat was merely preparing himself for the worst-case scenario in Najib Razak’s corruption trlal.

Tok Mat is correct about the right of everyone to a fair trial but this cannot hide the fact that his protest that he had been misquoted as saying that Najib should go to jail for his role in the 1MDB scandal is not confirmed by anyone listening to the full tape recording. Visit to Serendah gives me hope Malaysians are not indifferent to the need to save Malaysia for our children and children’s children by ensuring that Malaysia does not become failed state before Malaysia’s Centennial in another four decades

Firstly , why was I here when about four months ago I announced my political “retirement”. Read the rest of this entry »

Seeking help from Ongkili for access to the 5,000 missing pages in the Report of Royal Commission of Inquiry on Illegal Immigrants in Sabah given voting rights as well as from Joseph Pairin

(Versi BM)

I have written to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office in charge of Sabah and Sarawak affairs, Maximus Ongkili, for help to have access to the 5,000 missing pages in the Report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on Illegal immigrants in Sabah given voting rights.

Every effort must be made to end the 50-year Nightmare of the Illegal Immigrants in Sabah given voting rights before the 60th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia on 16th September 2023! Read the rest of this entry »

Will the “war” in earnest in UMNO for immediate general election reverse the national trajectory in the last half-a-century to losing out to more and more countries?

(Versi BM)

The “war” in earnest has started in UMNO for immediate 15th general election instead of the general election being held next year.

This could be seen from the utterances from the Deputy UMNO President, Mohamad Hassan who, because of his denial, had elicited Asia Times to reiterate its stand that Tok Mat had said in an interview that former Prime Minister and UMNO President, Najib Razak, must pay his dues if he loses the final appeal at the Federal Court. My “grudge” again Joseph Pairin Kitingan is that he had not contributed to the resolution of the 45-year nightmare of illegal immigrants in Sabah with voting rights although PBS returned to Barisan Nasional in 2002

(Versi BM)

I have no personal grudge against Joseph Pairin Kitingan. If any, my “grudge” against him is that he had not contributed to the resolution of the 45-year nightmare of illegal immigrants in Sabah with voting rights although PBS returned to Barisan Nasional in 2002.

I would have thought that the resolution of the nightmare of illegal immigrants in
Sabah with voting rights would have been one of the main conditions for PBS’s return to the Barisan Nasional in 2002, but clearly it was not.

Triple tragedy of PBS on its failure on the 45-year nightmare of the illegal immigrants in Sabah who could cast votes

(Versi BM)

The PBS President, Maximus Ongkili was right when he raised at the PBS annual delegates assembly last week that a “BN party” was responsible for a citizenship-for-votes scheme and that efforts must be undertaken to remove unqualified individuals from the voter list.

But this has only highlighted the triple tragedy of PBS. Read the rest of this entry »

Time for Joseph Pairin Kitingan to speak up as what he had done in four years from 2014-2018 as Chairman of the Working Committee on the Report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into illegal immigrants in Sabah to resolve the longstanding nightmare of Sabah illegal immigrants with voting rights

(Versi BM)

It would appear that there are many “cavemen“ in high places in Sabah over the long-standing nightmare of illegal immigrants in Sabah on the electoral rolls.

A former Cabinet Minister was asked by a former Prime Minister whether he was “living in a cave for the past 10 years” for asking the PBS President, Maximus Ongkili to name the Barisan Nasional party which had depended on “Project IC” – the citizenship-for-voters scheme. At least half a dozen of Sabah Chief Ministers would not be Sabah Chief Ministers if not for the illegal immigrants problem in Sabah

(Versi BM)

At least half a dozen of Sabah Chief Ministers would not be Sabah Chief Ministers if not for the illegal immigrants problem in Sabah.

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Maximus Ongkili stirred a hornet’s nest when he accused a Barisan Nasional party for being involved in a citizenship-for-votes scheme where the beneficiaries were the pendatang tanpa izin (PTI) because “they did not want PBS to be the government in Sabah”.
