UMNO leaders must learn to be responsible Malaysian leaders and stop making baseless accusation against political opponents as anti-Malay or anti-Islam, when in my 52 years in politics, I have never accused any UMNO leader as anti-Chinese, anti-Indian or anti-Buddhism, anti-Christianity or anti-Hinduism

Tomorrow, Malaysians celebrate Deepavali.
For six decades, we have failed to leverage as inheritors of the greatest civilizations in the world to build on their strengths and achievements instead of being blinded by their faults and vices.
We inherit the greatest accomplishments of mankind represented in the great civilizations in human history which meet in confluence in Malaysia, and we should be a shining example to the world of unity in diversity.
Let us benefit from the unique character and strength of Malaysia as a plural nation of diverse races, religions, cultures and languages and not be wracked by worsening racial and religious polarization in the country.
It is no use issuing Deepavali messages every year about the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil when we continue to practice and preach the politics of distrust and hatred based on a most irresponsible exploitation of the politics of race and religion.
UMNO leaders should learn to be more responsible Malaysian leaders and stop making baseless accusations against political opponents as anti-Malay or anti-Islam when in my 52 years in politics, I have never accused any UMNO leader as anti-Chinese, ant-Indian or anti-Buddhism, anti-Christianity or anti-Hinduism. Time for Reset of Nation Building Direction and Policies
For the past 60 years, the theme of Deepavali messages had been one on the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance but after six decades of Malaysian nation-building, the country has backslided on many fronts instead of making steady progress towards greater unity, harmony, justice, higher quality of life and prosperity for all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region.
Instead of becoming a shining example to the world of how a nation of diverse races, religions, languages and cultures can unite and live in harmony to build a world-class nation in every field of human endeavor, we have fallen short of the Merdeka and Malaysia Dream in the past six decades, and even worse, plumbing the worst of human instincts and depravity to be regarded as a global kleptocracy and the makings of a rogue state by the rest of the world.
The plight of the Indians and Hindus is a case in point. Read the rest of this entry »
Is Annuar Musa accusing the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak and Hussein Onn as anti-Islam because they upheld secularism as the bedrock principles of Malaysian Constitution and nation-building?

Is the UMNO Information Chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa accusing the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein Onn as anti-Islam because they upheld secularism as the bedrock principles of the Malaysian Constitution and Malaysian nation-building?
In his misnomer campaign of “Dialogue for All” in Kota Bahru on Saturday, Annuar launched a ferocious attack on the DAP, accusing DAP of being anti-Islam because the DAP constitution “clearly stated” that DAP was fighting for secularism, and secondly, alleging that the DAP feared an UMNO-PAS pact because the party did not want to see Malays and Muslims united.
I said Annuar’s national roadshow “Dialogue for All” is a misnomer as it would be more properly named as “Fake News for All”!
For Annuar’s edification, the DAP Constitution referred to the Merdeka Constitution 1957 as “a secular document, instilled with the principles of democracy, freedom, rule of law and respect of human rights; and imbibed with the ideals of accountability, equality, justice and human dignity” – a stand which had been taken by the nation’s first three Prime Ministers.
In accusing the DAP as being anti-Islam for taking such a stand, let Annuar declare whether he is also launching an attack on the first three Prime Ministers who were also UMNO Presidents for three decades from 1951 to 1981?
Or could Annuar differentiate the stand of the first three Prime Ministers from that of the DAP with regard to the Merdeka and Malaysian Constitution as a “secular document” laying down the bedrock principles of the Constitution and nation-building in Malaysia? Read the rest of this entry »
Before Annuar continues with his tirades and lies about the DAP being anti-Islam, he should ask himself whether he is worthy to be a “warrior of Islam” when he is a walking example of the “curse of kleptocracy” in Malaysia?

Before the UMNO Information Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa continues with his tirades and lies about the DAP being anti-Islam, he should ask himself whether he is worthy to be a “warrior of Islam” when he is a walking example of the “curse of kleptocracy” in Malaysia?
In recent years, Malaysia has suffered from the curse of the “kleptocratic culture” which has resulted in Malaysia becoming the object of world-wide scorn and ridicule as a “global kleptocracy”.
The most egregious example of this curse of kleptocratic culture is undoubtedly the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal.
Although not as egregious as the 1MDB scandal, the MARA and Felda/FGV scandals rank high on the list of corruption scandals constituting the “curse of kleptocratic culture” in the country which will be the subject of root-and-branch investigations by a Pakatan Harapan Federal Government if Pakatan Harapan can topple UMNO/BN in the 14th General Election. DAP and Pakatan Harapan government will make Malaysia a model for the world of how people of diverse races, religions, cultures and languages can unite and create a harmonious, democratic, progressive and prosperous nation and not to allow a Taliban state as advocated by a few

The UMNO Information Chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said in an UMNO “Dialogue Perjuangan For All” in Kota Bharu on Friday night that Pakatan Harapan will not be able to uphold and defend Islam in the country because the opposition coalition has been dominated by DAP.
Annuar cannot be more wrong.
DAP will uphold and defend the real values and true teachings of Islam and those of other great religions whether Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism or Sikkhism which are to promote peace, honesty, justice, freedom and solidarity.
A DAP and Pakatan Harapan Federal Government will make Malaysia a model for the world of how people of diverse races, religions, cultures and languages can unite and create a peaceful, harmonious, democratic, progressive and prosperous nation and not to allow a Taliban state as advocated by a few.
It is an indictment of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s nation-building policies that moderation and inclusiveness are suffering attacks and setbacks with the rise of extremism, bigotry and intolerance, to the extent that the Sultan of Johore had to declare publicly that Johore is not a Taliban state. Top 10: Apa lagi rakyat mahu?
P Gunasegaram
Malaysiakini
5 Oct 2017
QUESTION TIME | BN and its component parties are fond of saying how much the rakyat should be grateful to them for achieving independence, forging harmony between the races, and fostering peace and economic development, amongst others.
They, especially Umno, even say that Malays are ungrateful if they do not support the ruling party which they claim has brought them immense development and progress over the years, much better than other Third World countries.
But they fail to realise that Malaysia was already relatively well-developed a long time ago with Malaysia and Singapore having the highest living standards in Asia after Japan way back in the 70s. So, on a relative comparison with other countries which were not corrupt, Malaysia has actually declined.
Thus the ruling party and the opposition have to understand what is it that the rakyat – the majority of the people whose income makes it difficult for them to enjoy decent standards of living – really want from the government. It’s not very difficult, you just have to stop and think.
Apa lagi rakyat mahu? What more do the people want? That question implies they already have a lot and want more. But that’s not true, they don’t have enough. What they want are the basics first from which all else follows. Here are 10 – there are more of course, but these provide a flavour.
At the end of each item, I am going to rate the government between 0 and 10 – 0 for worst and 10 for best and then total them all up for an overall score out of 100. You can rate them too and get your own score. Anything less than 50 is an emphatic failure. Read the rest of this entry »
Declare and Observe October 14 as Anti-Kleptocracy Day in Malaysia until the world stops regarding Malaysia as a global kleptocracy
Posted by Kit in Corruption on Saturday, 14 October 2017
Today is the day Pakatan Harapan has chosen for the “Sayangi Malaysia, Hapuskan Kleptocrasi” rally in Padang Timor, Petaling Jaya for Malaysians regardless of race, religion, region, politics, age or gender to show their love for and loyalty to Malaysia through an united opposition to Malaysia being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy.
Befitting the occasion, October 14 should be declared and observed as Anti-Kleptocracy Day in Malaysia until the world stops regarding Malaysia as a global kleptocracy.
For 13 years, the world had celebrated 9th December as the International Anti-Corruption Day to commemorate the passage of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption on 31st October 2003. Read the rest of this entry »
Thanks Ismail Sabri, for helping me win a small bet that an UMNO leader wannabe will jump on Zaid’s article as proof that I want to be Prime Minister of Malaysia
Thank you, Sabri Ismail Yaakob for helping me win a small bet that an UMNO leader wannabe will jump on Malaysiakini’s report “Zaid: Kit Siang would make a better PM than anyone in UMNO” as proof that I want to be Prime Minister of Malaysia.
We were not referring to the UMNO “washouts” like the UMNO Information Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who left MARA under an unresolved kleptocratic cloud and dare not even answer my five questions surrounding his credibility and integrity, or the Director-General of UMNO propaganda mouthpiece in the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, JASA, Datuk Mohamad Puad Zarkashi, but the “up-and-coming” UMNO leader wannabes who fancy themselves scaling tne top UMNO leadership hierarchy, and Ismail Sabri is clearly one of them! MCA should requisition a Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting to thrash out once and for all whether the UMNO/BN propaganda attack is going to be Mahathir is Lim Kit Siang’s stooge or Lim Kit Siang is Mahahtir’s stooge!
Posted by Kit in Corruption, DAP, Mahathir, Najib Razak, UMNO on Friday, 13 October 2017
I have just read the report on Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad’s blog suggesting that BN should make a decision regarding him and myself, decide who bought who, whether Mahathir has bought me or I had bought Mahathir.
UMNO leaders like the UMNO information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa keep repeating the claim that DAP dominates Pakatan Harapan, but MCA makes the very opposite allegation, accusing me of selling myself and DAP to Bersatu instead.
This is a most ridiculous scenario, and only those who cannot catch up with the times would make such a colossal blunder. Let me tell the UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders and propagandists that we are in the information era where information travels at the speed of light and not in the stone age or bullock cart era, where it is possible to restrict access to information.
Furthermore, it also highlights the Machiavellian and treacherous character of those responsible for the propaganda and information war of UMNO/BN that they are prepared to say different things to different audiences.
This is one basic difference between the Pakatan Harapan and the Barisan Nasional Coalitions, where the four component parties in Pakatan Harapan, whether DAP, PKR, Amanah or Pribumi Bersatu say the same thing and deliver the same message regardless of audience or location, while the Barisan Nasional component parties are utterly dishonest and hypocritical, with UMNO saying one thing to Malay audience but the MCA saying a completely different versio to the Chinese audience.
This itself would be a powerful reason why the time has come for the UMNO/BN coalition to be replaced, for Malaysia cannot succeed or progress if its leaders say different and even contradictory things to the people depending on the audience, circumstance and location. Read the rest of this entry »
To Malaysia’s eternal shame, we are singled out and named in the new book “The Corruption Cure” as the nation which the United States government is combatting in the fight against global kleptocracy
Posted by Kit in Corruption, International, Najib Razak on Friday, 13 October 2017
It is to Malaysia’s eternal shame that we are singled out and named in the new book, “The Corruption Cure” by Robert Rotberg as the nation which the United States government is combatting in the fight against global kleptocracy.
This is to be found in Page 288 of the book, which reads:
“Under President Obama and his two attorneys general, the U.S. has intensified its attack on corporate, sovereign wealth fund, and individual corruption because it is wrong, but also because the Department of Justice believes that such corruption is a major cause of global instability, a severe hindrance to economic development everywhere, a major creator of poverty, and a critical abuse of national social contracts. Funds pilfered abroad – as in the Malaysian government sovereign wealth fund case, where more than $3 billion was misappropriated – also distorts real estate markets and the overall American economy (witness Miami and New York). For all those reasons and more, corruption is a ‘threat to American national security’”.
Reading this paragraph, I find it most ironical and indignant that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak could speak about Malaysia strengthening the American economy when he visited US President Donald Trump at the White House on Sept. 12.

UMNO is the country’s biggest manufacturer of “fake news” through its owned or controlled “mainstream media” especially Utusan Malaysia – will it direct them to stop publishing “fake news”?
Yesterday, the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak called on Malaysians to defend the nation from false news.
I instantly responded in a tweet: “Only time so far I agree with Salleh”.
However, I had added a caveat: “I oppose all fake news, whether against DAP and Pakatan Harapan or Umno/BN leaders.
“Will Salleh/MCMC (Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission) oppose all fake news, even those against DAP/Harapan leaders?”
In response, Salleh thanked me for backing his call on Malaysians to help counter fake news and information but did not specifically address the issues I raised, deflecting them with a very officious position that MCMC would make a similar stand on the fake news which targets the opposition.
He said: “The law is clear. If a report is lodged with MCMC, the necessary action would be taken.”
In the country today, the biggest manufacturer of “fake news” is none other than UMNO/BN through its owned or controlled “mainstream media”, led by UMNO-owned Utusan Malaysia.
For over 40 years from 1965, I did not exist as far as Utusan Malaysia was concerned, as all my statements, speeches and activities were blacked out in its pages, but in the past ten years since the 2008 General Election in March 2008, I became “big news” in Utusan Malaysia, with my photographs and reports getting huge play in the Utusan Malaysia, but not true news, but fake news. Will Najib give an assurance that the Malay Rulers’ statement of concern on national unity and harmony will not suffer the same fate as their previous statement two years ago on 1MDB scandal, which was virtually ignored and disregarded
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Financial Scandals, Najib Razak on Thursday, 12 October 2017
Will the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, give an assurance that the Malay Ruler’s statement of concern on national unity and harmony two days ago on Oct. 10, 2017 will not suffer the same fate as their previous statement two years ago on the 1MDB scandal, which was virtually ignored and disregarded.
The only reference, and a most indirect one, made by the Prime Minister to the Malay Rulers’ statement of concern on the 1MDB scandal was some three months later in Najib’s 2016 New Year Message on 31st December 2015 where Najib told Malaysians that his RM50 billion 1MDB and RM2.6 billion donation twin mega scandals had been resolved and were no more issues.
Najib could not be more wrong, as the past 21 months have shown that the 1MDB and Najib’s RM2.6 billion donation twin mega scandals have continued to haunt and hound Malaysians from various corners of the world.
As result, Malaysia has won the dubious distinction of being known worldwide as a “global kleptodcracy”! Read the rest of this entry »
Why the pin-drop silence from Prime Minister and Cabinet the last two days on the Malay Rulers’ statement of concern on national unity and harmony
Posted by Kit in Constitution, Parliament, Religion on Thursday, 12 October 2017
The Malay Rulers should be lauded for their expression of concern over the eroding unity and harmony in Malaysia, in light of racially controversial issues that have taken place of late.
Malaysians are entitled to ask why the pin-drop silence from the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the Cabinet in the last two days and whether the concern of the Malay Rulers was top of the agenda of the weekly Cabinet meeting yesterday, and if not, why not; and if yes, the outcome of such Cabinet deliberations. Annuar and the UMNO stooges are all wrong – DAP will not be the Pakatan Harapan party with the largest bloc of MPs from the 165 parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia
When UMNO Supreme Council member and Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Deputy Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman made a false accusation against Tun Mahathir and tried to claim that Mahathir was “injected with DAP’s blood”, everyone including UMNO leaders must be wondering what blood Tajuddin had been injected with because there is not a more foul-mouthed political leader today than Tajuddin who seemed to have no trace of “adab orang Melayu” at all.
Would UMNO Information Chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa agree with Tajuddin’s analogy of “blood injection” for the improper conduct of UMNO leaders to the extent that they have become the very personifaction not only of kleptocracy but “global kleptocracy”?
Has Annuar been affected by “injected blood” for his ongoing campaign to demonise me and Mahathir, especially in his speech yesterday alleging that the “formidable” and “invincible” politician had been “tamed” by me and that I deserved the title of “political dictator”?
As there is neither logic nor coherence in Annuar’s speech, it may be a good idea for Annuar to go for a blood test! Read the rest of this entry »
Five questions for Annuar Musa before I respond to his latest fulminations against me and Tun Mahathir
Posted by Kit in Corruption on Tuesday, 10 October 2017
UMNO Information Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa claimed that I had “brought to heel a formidable politician” like Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, alleging that the former Prime Minister and UMNO President, “who appeared invincible in the world of politics”, had succumbed to my “sweet words”.
But before I respond to Annuar’s latest fulminations, let me ask him five questions and I hope he will respond promptly without any hesitation or doubt.
The five questions for Annuar are:
First, how many cases of corruption and abuses of power in his capacity as MARA Chairman and other MARA portfolios had he been investigated by MACC and the outcome of these investigations.
Second, does the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has to give the green light before the MACC could arrest and prosecute him for corruption as MARA Chairman and other MARA responsibilities.

Kassim Ahmad: The passing of a great Malay intellectual
Rosli Dahlan
Free Malaysia Today
10th October 2017
Today, we mourn the passing of a great Malay intellectual, a towering Malaysian who stood firm in his belief to his last breath. At 10am on Oct 10, Kassim Ahmad passed away in Kulim Hospital after slipping into a coma two days ago.
Kassim was known as a non-conformist thinker, who was seen as being highly critical of the religious authorities, and more recently of Jabatan Agama Wilayah Persekutuan (Jawi).
His books were banned and Jawi considered him to be a heretic. It is unknown to many that Kassim who was born on Sept 9, 1933 was the son of an Islamic religious teacher, Ahmad Ishak. Kassim’s religious knowledge therefore was not skin deep.
On Feb 16, 2014, Kassim was invited to speak at the Perdana Foundation in Putrajaya. The topic was “Hadis: Satu Penilaian Semula” and “Hadis: Jawapan kepada Pengkritik”.
The media reported about his speech. And following the media coverage, Jawi proceeded to persecute Kassim relentlessly. On March 26, 2014, Jawi officers raided Kassim’s house in Kulim, Kedah. Read the rest of this entry »
Discovery – Salleh Said Keruak is another “one trick pony”

Abdul Rahman should not be a “one trick pony”
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Media, Pakatan Harapan, Politics on Tuesday, 10 October 2017
Yesterday, the Director of Barisan Nasional Strategic Communications and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan returned to his theme that I will become the Prime Minister if the Opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan wins the next general election in his interview with Channel News Asia.
Abdul Rahman, who is described as “a rising star and a loyalist to Prime Minister Najib Razak” – a description which will be disputed by many who see him as a “falling star”- said neither Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad nor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will lead the country in event of an opposition victory.
He said: “If Pakatan Harapan were to win the next general elections, Lim Kit Siang will be the next Prime Minister, not Tun Dr Mahathir as Lim Kit Siang is always suggesting.
“He (Lim) needs to use Tun Mahathir to win the elections.
“Tun Mahathir can forget about the job. Anwar Ibrahim can forget about the job. It will be Lim Kit Siang. And therefore to understand Malaysian politics, focus on this guy.” Read the rest of this entry »

The crucial role of education in liberating citizens is encapsulated in the wisdom of the Greek philosopher Epictetus (Discourses): “Only the educated are free!” Having been born a slave, he knew a thing or two about freedom.
Teachers are liberators! No surprise that I have a high regard for them, quite apart from the fact that both my parents were teachers. Consider that as a physician, the best that I could do is to return my patients to their pre-illness state. With a good teacher, there would be no limit to the achievements of her students.
Munshi Abdullah wrote, “Antara mereka yang berguru dan mereka yang meniru, jauh beza-nya!” (Between those who are taught and those who parrot, is a vast difference!) Those who parrot could only repeat after you; those who are taught, and taught well, pave their own path. Others can then follow in their path.

CANCELLED BEER FEST IN MALAYSIA: IF NAJIB IS COURTING ISLAMIC HARDLINERS, ARE HIS RIVALS ANY BETTER?
BY BHAVAN JAIPRAGAS
South China Morning Post
8 OCT 2017
As Islamic hardliners grow more influential, political parties hesitate to offend the voting bloc of religious Malays, and the cancelled Oktoberfest-inspired event is likely a sign of things to come
Compared to the millions-strong boozy crowd of Munich’s fabled, month-long Oktoberfest, the now-cancelled Better Beer Festival in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur would have been a decidedly flat affair.
Planned for this weekend in a shopping centre and with just around 6,000 people expected to attend, the latest installation of the country’s biggest annual craft beer event would have posed little threat to public order, and was likely to have gone unnoticed in the international media.
But now its abrupt cancellation – compelled by Islamic hardliners seeking blanket alcohol prohibition – has sparked a fresh political maelstrom for both Prime Minister Najib Razak and his chief opponent, the 92-year-old ex strongman Mahathir Mohamad.
Two other Oktoberfest-related, beer-themed events in shopping malls are also likely to be banned in areas the opposition controls. Read the rest of this entry »
