It is a day of national shame when the daily increase of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia exceeds that of the United States of America.

Yesterday, Malaysia had an increase of 5,293 new Covid-19 cases, while the United States of America, the world’s worst performing state with a cumulative total of 34.4 million cases and 617,166 Covid-19 deaths, had an increase of 4,422 new Covid-19 cases – some 1,500 cases less than Malaysia.

We are fighting an invisible but lethal war against the Covid-19 pandemic and so far there have been more than 4,300 in Malaysia as a result of this war.

This is in fact a world war – for it has claimed more than 3.8 million lives in the whole word in the last 18 months.

The Attorney-General Tan Sri Idris Harun should resign if he could not convince the Prime Minister to avoid a constitutional crisis and co-operate with the Yang di Pertuan Agong and the Rulers and convene Parliament before August 1 to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.

#kerajaaangagal123 – The PMO’s three-paragraph statement had said more things than if it was a three-page statement

The Prime Minister’s Office’s three-paragraph statement on the Conference of Rulers’ special meeting on Wednesday had said more things than if it was a three-page statement.

Four days have passed, and there are no indications that there will be any emergency Cabinet meeting on the two conclusions of the Conference of Rulers’ special meeting on Wednesday: first, that Parliament and the State Assemblies should be convened “as soon as possible” and second, there is no need for the extension of the emergency beyond August 1, 2021. #kerajaangagal122 – Ten things Malaysia should do to win the invisible but lethal war against Covid-19 pandemic

Malaysia has suddenly catapulted to be one of the world’s worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Countries which have previously been regarded as the world’s worst performing nations have turned the corner and are addressing the Covid-19 pandemic in a more effective fashion as compared to Malaysia.

Time is closing in for the Muhyiddin government to call for an emergency Cabinet meeting to comply with the Dewan Rakyat Standing Orders with the requisite 28 days’ notice and to convene Parliament on July 19, 2021 and avoid any constitutional crisis in the country.

The Dewan Rakyat Standing Orders provide that the Prime Minister will decide, at least 28 days in advance, when the Dewan Rakyat should meet, which means that tomorrow Sunday 20th June 2021 is the deadline for the Prime Minister to convene Parliament on July 19 and comply with the Dewan Rakyat Standing Orders on the 28 days’ requisite notice.

#kerajaangagal119 – Has the Prime Minister and Cabinet abandoned the objective to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19 or is it just the position of Khairy Jamaluddin?

The Minister co-ordinating Covid-19 vaccines, Khairy Jamaluddin announced yesterday that he had abandoned the objective to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19 by vaccinating 80 per cent of the population.

Is this the position of the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) or is it just Khairy’s position? Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal117 – Call for a one-year political moratorium which can be extended to two years where there is only one national priority – to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure that Covid-19 fatalities do not exceed 5,000 deaths

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

These are my personal views.

I have said that Malaysians can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel of the 18-month Covid-19 pandemic with the Conference of Rulers special meeting yesterday.

It now allows Malaysia, which has suddenly becoming one of the world’s top worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic while countries which had hogged the world limelight in the first 12 months of the pandemic have turned a corner and doing quite well in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with their national vaccination rollouts, an opportunity to win the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Malaysians have finally seen light at the end of the tunnel of the 18-month Covid-19 pandemic with the Conference of Rulers special meeting yesterday.

It has ended the various speculations and theories including those with dubious constitutional basis and legitimacy on how the country is to negotiate the constitutional impasse where no person seems to command a clear majority in Parliament while the country is faced with an existential threat by the Covid-19 pandemic – with Malaysia suddenly becoming one of the world’s top worst performing nations in the Covid-19 pandemic while countries which had hogged the world limelight in the first 12 months of the pandemic have turned a corner and doing quite well in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with their national vaccination rollouts. #kerajaangagal114 – Were MPs given priority for vaccination not to enable them to perform their constitutional role of check-and-balance of the Executive to ensure good governance but to provide the excuse for Ministers and Deputy Ministers to be vaccinated?

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Under the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s National Recovery Plan, Parliament is scheduled to meet in September or October when the country enters Phase Three of the government’s Covid-19 exit plan, when there is an average of less than 2,000 Covid-19 cases daily, sufficient ICU capacity and up to 40 percent of the population fully vaccinated.

Two questions come to mind: Firstly, were MPs given priority for vaccination not to enable them to perform their constitutional role to perform check-and-balance role of the Executive to ensure that there is good governance, effective and efficient government and the rule of law but to provide the excuse for Ministers and Deputy Ministers to be vaccinated? #kerajaangagal112 – The Cabinet should decide tomorrow to collectively tender a national apology for causing at least 4,000 tragedies in mishandling the Covid-19 pandemic which resulted in nearly 700,000 Covid-19 cases and 4,000 Covid-19 deaths

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

The United States, the worst nation in the Covid-19 pandemic in the last 18 months with a cumulative total of over 34 million Covid-19 cases, have greatly slashed its Covid19 numbers, and in the last three days, its daily increase of new Covid-19 cases were 11,061, 7,685 and 10,005 new Covid-19 cases respectively, wyghich represent a huge reduction of 96.4%, 97.5% and 96.7% respectively from the peak of daily increase of 305,073 new Covid-19 cases on January 8, 2021.

Even India, which in April and May had taken over from the United States as the worst nation in terms of the caseload of Covid-19 cases and deaths, have sharply reduced its daily increase of new Covid-19 cases, falling from the peak of daily increase of 414,433 new Covid-19 cases on May 6, 2021 to 81,005, 68,400 and 62,597 cases respectively in the last three days representing a sharp fall of 80.5%, 83.5% and 84.9% respectively from the daily peak on May 6. The “flying car” Minister, who made everyone squirm when he opened his mouth when he was in Pakatan Harapan Government, is right this time – no need for a National Operations Council (NOC) but crucial to reconvene Parliament as soon as possible.

May be this was the reason why he was sidelined and excluded from the National Security Council; (NSC) meetings on the Covid-19 disaster, although he is the Minister in charge of the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma). Read the rest of this entry »

#kerajaangagal109 – Is the Covid-19 exit plan Muhyiddin’s distraction ploy from the SIEC issue?

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

Why should the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin be now talking about a National Recovery Plan in preparation for the country to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic?

Is it Muhyiddin’s distraction ploy from the Special Independent Emergency Committee (SIEC) issue triggered by his de facto Law Minister, Takiyuddin Hassan as to whether SIEC would be the only authoritative body to advise the Yang di Pertuan Agong whether to extend the emergency on August 1, 2021? #kerajaangagal103 – Can Hamzah impose his will on the Muhyiddin Cabinet that Parliament can only meet when herd immunity against coronavirus is achieved?

(Tatal ke bawah untuk kenyataan versi BM)

It is most intriguing why the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is keeping so quiet on the bizarre idea of the Home Minister, Hamzah Zainuddin that the Malaysian Parliament can only meet when herd immunity against Covid-19 is achieved by the end of the year.

Hamzah first came out with this bizarre idea last Friday on 4th June and it was regarded as quite a looney one. I had observed that it was fortunate that Hamzah’s idea had not “infected” the rest of the world or it would be the death knell for democracy. Read the rest of this entry »
