Three-day Police silence after a weak and unconvincing denial is as good as admission of guilt of running a troll farm in a digital age where there is a new culture and ecosystem based on speed

(Versi BM)

The three-day police silence after a weak and unconvincing denial is as good as an admission of guilt of running a troll farm in a digital age where there is a new culture and ecosystem based on speed.

The media giant Meta had implicated the Malaysian Police in attempts to manipulate public discourse by setting up a “troll farm”. Read the rest of this entry »

Police denial of “troll farm link” weak and unconvincing – call for public inquiry headed by a judge or former judge to investigate the serious allegation

(Versi BM)

The police denial of a claim by social media giant Meta that implicated it in attempts to manipulate public discourse by setting up a “troll farm” is weak and unconvincing.

I call for a public inquiry headed by a judge or former judge to investigate the serious allegation by Meta. Read the rest of this entry »

Zahid should not deny the undeniable and should explain why as Defence Minister in July 2011, he overturned the decision as recommended by the Navy to contract the six Dutch-made Sigma LCS and chose the Scorpene manufacturer’s six French-made Gowind LCS within three days without consulting the Navy, the end-user?

(Versi BM)

UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should not deny the undeniable but should explain why as Defence Minister in July 2011, he overturned the decision as recommended by the Navy to contract six Dutch-made Sigma Littoral Combatant Shiupt (LCS) and chose the Scorpene manufacturer’s six French-made Gowind LCS within three days without consulting the Navy, the end-user.

It is as clear as daylight that Zahid is responsible for the RM9 billion LCS scandal, and he should explain instead why he took three days on July 11, 2011 to overturn the Ministry of Defence decision of May 26, 2011 to contract the Sigma LCS and to go instead for the Gowind LCS, without first referring the matter to the Navy.

Call on Sarawak and Sabah to set up a joint MA63 Constitution Review Commission to review the fulfilment of MA63 for Sarawak and Sabah 60 years after the formation of Malaysia in 1963

We meet here especially in appreciation and honour of Chong Siew Chiang, whom I will name the Father of DAP Sarawak, for establishing DAP in Sarawak in 1978 to achieve the Malaysian Malaysian objective in pursuit of the Malaysian Dream.

Next year will be the 60th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia in 1963, and for the occasion, I propose that Sarawak and Sabah set up a joint MA63 Constitution Review Commission to review the fulfilment of Malaysia Agreement 1963 for Sarawak and Sabah.

The establishment of such a Joint Commission will be an important step to achieve the Malaysian Dream which should be the aspiration of every patriotic Malaysian.

The next national general election is not far off, but it will be a challenging one for Sarawakians and Malaysians, as the days of political hegemony by one political party is gone and a thing of the past.

Malaysians will have to learn to work together without sacrificing the basic principles of serving the national interest to promote unity, harmony, justice, democracy, good governance, prosperity and well-being of all Malaysians.

This is one aspect of the re-set of nation-building principles and policies which the country must undertake if Malaysia is to fulfil its potential to be a world-class great nation, instead of being overtaken by one country after another in the last half-a-century.

Malaysia is at the meeting-point of four great civilisations – Malay/Islamic, Chinese, Indian and Western – and there is no reason why we cannot leverage on the best virtues and values of these four great civilisations to build a great and world-class Malaysia.

But the journey to make Malaysia a world-class great nation is a marathon and not a sprint, it must be counted in decades and even centuries and not in days, months and years, which is why it is important that Sarawakians and Malaysians develop the long-term spirit of the long-distance runner to make Malaysia a world-class great nation.

(Speech by DAP MP for Iskandar Puteri Lim Kit Siang at a DAP Sarawak luncheon ‘”In Appreciation and Honour of Lim Kit Siang and Chong Siew Chiang” in Kuching on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1 pm)

If there is any person who must bear responsibility for the RM9 billion LCS scandal, that person must be Zahid who was Defence Minister at the time, and no one else

(Versi BM)

If there is any person who must bear responsibility for the RM9 billion Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) scandal, that person must be Zahid Hamidi, who was Defence Minister at the time and no one else.

Zahid was foolish to deny that he is responsible for the RM9 billion LCS scandal.

Why was the PAC report on the new RM9.13 billion financial scandal on the six Littoral Combatant Ships (LCS) presented to Parliament on the last sitting on Parliament on August 4 when it should be tabled in Parliament in the March meeting to allow for parliamentary debate and greater public scrutiny

(Versi BM)

One question which has nagged me is why the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on the latest financial scandal in Malaysia, the RMN9.13 billion scandal on the six Littoral Combatant Ships (LCS), was presented to Parliament on the last sitting of Parliament on August 4, 2022 when it should be tabled in Parliament in the March meeting of Parliament to allow for parliamentary debate and greater public scrutiny.

This was because the last meeting of the PAC on the six LCSs was on 8th March 2022, and it is a great remiss of parliamentary responsibility and duty not to ensure that the PAC report is tabled in Parliament in March 2022, as Parliament met for 16 days from 28th February to 24th March, 2022 – which meant that there were 16 days for the PAC Report on the LCS to be tabled in the March meeting of Parliament but it was not done. Is the Ismail Sabri government launching a cyberwarfare against its own people?

(Versi BM)

There has been thunderous silence for the last 24 hours from the Ismail Sabri government to the serious allegation by the tech giant Meta in its Quarterly Adversarial Threat Report which claimed that close to 1,000 Facebook and Instagram accounts as well as Facebook groups and pages have been removed for violating the platforms’ policy against coordinated inauthentic behaviour.

Meta said: “Such behaviour can be defined as the coordinated use of fake accounts to manipulate public debate for a strategic goal.” Read the rest of this entry »

After nearly 100 years, from pro-Malay to pro-Malay for Mahathir – I feel great sadness at such a retrograde step as it is a blow to Vision 2020 and concept of Bangsa Malaysia

(Versi BM)

I feel great sadness that after nearly 100 years in Malaysian politics, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has only moved from pro-Malay to pro-Malay when yesterday he announced a new “Malay” movement – Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) to fight UMNO in the 15th general election.

I feel great sadness because it is a retrograde step which is a blow to Vision 2020 and the concept of Bangsa Malaysia.

What is the MACC doing about the PAC report on LCS?

(Versi BM)

The Parliament Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had tabled its report on the Procurement of Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) yesterday in Dewan Rakyat.

It is sad to see how the Government had again failed Malaysians, with another mega scandal exposing a loss of RM6 billion. Read the rest of this entry »

Is the MACC aware how much money was spent from the 1MDB scandal in the 13th General Election in 2013?

(Versi BM)

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaffar told Parliament yesterday in reply to a question from DAP MP for Bukit Gelugor Ramkarpal Singh that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is currently reviewing a report on a Minister and two deputy Ministers for alleged misappropriation of funds.

This follows the testimony in June by the UMNO President, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in his own corruption trial that three UMNO MPs quit the party to save themselves from being investigated by the MACC. Read the rest of this entry »

Ministers and Deputy Ministers must undergo a course in parliamentary reform so that they won’t create dubious history by committing the most unparliamentary sin in the world as evading parliamentary questions as happened in the current meeting of Parliament

Ministers and Deputy Ministers must undergo a course in parliamentary reform so that they won’t create dubious history in the world by committing the most unparliamentary sin as evading parliamentary questions as happened in the current meeting of Parliament.

Prime Minister to be asked a Ministerial question tomorrow whether Idris Ahmad’s position on the Oktoberfest is the government’s official position, and if so, when the Cabinet took the decision

(Versi BM)

I have given notice to ask the Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri, a Ministerial question in Parliament tomorrow whether the position on the Oktoberfest as reflected in Idris Ahmad’s reply in Parliament last month was the Ismail Sabri government’s official position, and if so, when the Cabinet took the decision.

The question for Ismail Sabri’s answer during Ministerial question time is:

Time to debunk the sea of lies, fake news and false information which had been polluting the political arena in the last few years

(Versi BM)

The time has come to debunk the sea of lies, fake news and false allegations which had been polluting the political arena in the last few years.

The Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri tried to justify the Sheraton Move conspiracy at the Selangor Barisan Nasional convention on Sunday when he justified the Sheraton Move which unconstitutionally and undemocratically toppled the elected Pakatan Harapan government after 22 months on the grounds of DAP dominance in the Pakatan Harapan government.
