According to the recent testimony by the head of the Oxford Vaccine Group, Professor Sir Andrew :Pollard to the United Kingdom all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on coronavirus, reaching herd immunity is “not a possibility” with the current Delta variant.

The British media reported the evidence of Pollard to the UK parliamentary group on

In the first eleven days of August, there had been 2,349 Covid-19 deaths when in the first month of the Emergency from January 11 – Feb. 10, 2021, there had only been 268 Covid-19 deaths!

The swift and draconian actions by the police against four persons over claims they insulted the Kedah Mentri Besar Mohammad Sanusi Md Nor have shocked and revolted Malaysians, in particular the way a 61-year-old senior citizen who had called Sanusi “stupid” for his remark about containers being used as a morgue had been arrested in Lenggeng in Negri Semibilan and dragged to Kedah for investigations. Yesterday, we broke the 11,000-mark for Covid-19 deaths and today we will break the 1.3 million-mark for cumulative total of Covid-19 cases.

At the present rate of Covid-19 deaths, breaking the thousand mark in five or six days, we will break the 15,000-mark for Covid-19 deaths by the 64th National Day on August 31, and going by the present rate of Covid-19 infections, we will reach the cumulative total of 1.5 million Covid-19 cases by August 21 or 22nd and by National Day on August 31, we may have broken the 1.7 million mark for cumulative total of Covid-19 cases.l Read the rest of this entry »

The single biggest issue of the Covid-19 pandemic is the high fatality rate with 360 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, but it was completely omitted by the Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in his live telecast yesterday.

When emergency was proclaimed on January 11, 2021 to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, there were 551 deaths from the first 12 months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The appointment of Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu as special adviser to the Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin with the status of Minister raises the question whether Muhyiddin is going to have a parallel Cabinet of Special Advisers with Ministerial status.

The Parliament lockdown since last Thursday is a great national disservice as Malaysia is heading towards half-a-million Covid-19 cases and 6,000 Covid-19 deaths in August resulting in Malaysia having a cumulative total exceeding 1.5 million Covid-19 cases and 15,000 Covid-19 deaths on the 64th National Day on August 31.

Parliament should be meeting to draft a new policy and strategy to avert these calamitous figures on August 31, but instead Members of Parliament were blocked from Parliament and the Parliament special meeting truncated, after being distracted from focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic with a major constitutional crisis. Federal government should buy up the 3.2 million doses of excess supply of Covid-19 vaccine held by Pharmaniaga to speed up and complete the national immunisation rollout before 64th National Day or latest by 54th Malaysia Day as the country is in a race of “vaccine vs Delta virus”

The MP for Tanjung Karang, Noh Omar told Parliament last Wednesday that government-linked company Pharmaniaga had 3.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine in excess supply in storage, which has not been denied.

The Federal Government should buy up the 3.2 million doses of excess supply of Covid-19 vaccine held by Pharmaniaga to speed up and complete the national immunisation rollout before 64th National Day on August 31 or latest by 54th Malaysia Day on Sept. 16 as the country is in a race of “vaccine vs Delta virus”.
