I am surprised to read the latest Bernama news that FELDA is highly offended by the FELDA Convention organized by Pakatan Harapan in Shah Alam next Sunday, March 19, declaring its objection and stressing that FELDA is no way involved in the forthcoming FELDA Convention.
In a statement, FELDA director-general Datuk Hanapi Suhada said FELDA had never given any permission to use the FELDA name for the Pakatan Harapan convention
Hanapi said: “Lately there are some quarters who are out to disturb the harmony and wellbeing of Felda settlers. The latest being Pakatan Harapan which plans to hold the ‘Konvensyen Felda, Kelangsungan Felda Melalui Pengupayaan dan Pendidikan’ (Felda Convention: Felda Continuity through Capacity Building and Education) in Shah Alam on March 19.
“The use of the Felda name in the title will confuse the settlers and the public at large.”
Hanapi said Felda viewed the matter seriously as there could be misrepresentation which could affect the harmony and wellbeing of settlers in its land schemes.
Hanapi claimed that since the authority was founded in 1956, Felda had never strayed from its core objective of raising the standard of living of its settler community in the 317 land schemes throughout the country.
This is a most extraordinary and even hysterical statement, reflecting a most petty and small-minded mentality.
I will be most surprised if Hanapi’s statement had the blessing of the new FELDA Chairman and MP for Johor Baru, Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad, which means that the veteran UMNO politician has changed considerably since becoming FELDA Chairman. Read the rest of this entry »

DAP stands fully united in support of the government to resolve the crisis with North Korea and the safe return of the nine Malaysians who are barred from leaving North Korea amidst the diplomatic row between the two nations.
Both North Korea and South Korea are presenting important lessons for Malaysia.
The lesson we must learn from the diplomatic crisis with North Korea is that Malaysians must stand united in support of the government’s dealings with foreign countries, as we must not give foreign countries any opportunity to exploit any internal differences for their benefit.
The lesson we must learn from the political crisis in South Korea following the impeachment of the South Korean President Park Geun-hye by the unanimous decision of eight judges of the Constitutional Court is quite different – that Malaysia must always uphold the rule of law and the sanctity of the Constitution if the country is not to be plunged into any political chaos. The biggest news today is not North Korea but South Korea, the unanimous decision by eight judges of South Korea’s Constitutional Court endorsing the decision of the South Korean Parliament to impeach and remove President Park Geun-hye from office over a graft scandal involving the country’s conglomerates.
Park becomes South Korea’s first democratically elected leader to be forced from office, capping months of paralysis and turmoil over the corruption scandal that also landed the head of the Samsung conglomerate in detention and on trial.
As Lee Tae-ho, who leads a movement to oust Park that has held mostly peaceful rallies in downtown involving millions, told a large gathering in Seoul earlier today: “We did it. We the citizens, the sovereign of this country, opened a new chapter in history.”
Park was stripped of her powers after parliament voted to impeach her but has remained in the president’s official compound.
The court’s acting chief judge, Lee Jung-mi, said Park had violated the constitution and law “throughout her term”, and despite the objections of parliament and the media, she had concealed the truth and cracked down on critics.
South Korea’s Constitutional Court ruling to uphold parliament’s Dec. 9 vote to impeach her marks a dramatic fall from grace of South Korea’s first woman president.
She no longer has immunity and could now face criminal charges over bribery, extortion and abuse of power in connection with allegations of conspiring with her friend, Choi Soon-sil.
What is significant and remarkable is that the Seoul market’s benchmark KOSPI index .KS11 and the South Korean won currency rose after the ruling by the Constitutional Court.
As a senior economist and analyst explained it, “the hope is that this will allow the country to have a new leader that can address long-standing challenges such as labor market reforms and escalated geopolitical tensions.”
What happened in South Korea – the ousting of South Korean President by Parliament and an unanimous decision by eight judges – is a sober reminder to Malaysians of the need to restore rule of law and separation of powers in Malaysia where we can also impeach the Prime Minister if he runs afoul of the law and the Constitution. UMNO propagandists concocting a third demonization campaign against me, alleging that I am stooge of Singapore PAP as they found that two earlier lies about me being “anti-Malay” and “anti-Islam” are not as effective as they had hoped
In the past three months, I had never in my life been so “famous” in the UMNO/BN owned or controlled mainstream media, as almost every day, my picture would appear and there would be a write-up about me, appearing either in New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian or TV3 – all trying to put in the worst possible light.
There was for instance a standing instruction for decades in one of the major newspaper groups that my picture was never to appear in their dailies.
Why have I become so “famous” in the past three months when for over 50 years of my political life, I had been mostly blacked out by the UMNO/BN owned or controlled mainstream media, making me into a “non-person” as in Stalinist Soviet Union – with all the concoctions, falsehoods and lies about me?
This is really all not about me, but about the UMNO propagandists, cybertroopers and leadership – their fear that they might be ousted from Putrajaya in the forthcoming 14th General Election expected this year, probably in September.
If UMNO feels strong and invincible, they would not waste time on their political competitors, whom until recently they regard as “lightweights” and unable to threaten their political power base.
It is precisely because they had a fright of their lives in the 13th General Election, when they were nearly sent to the Opposition benches as UMNO/BN had only won 47% of the popular vote but because of the undemocratic and unjust redelineation of constituencies which gave them control of 60 per cent of the parliamentary seats, that enabled Datuk Seri Najib Razak to continue as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, albeit the first minority Prime Minister in Malaysian history.
In the 14th General Election – which is going to the “mother of all general elections in Malaysia” – UMNO leaders know that despite general public disappointments and disillusionment with the electoral process, there is nonetheless the great possibility that UMNO/BN may be voted out of power, UMNO/BN leaders are pulling out all the stops to carry out unethical, dishonest, unprincipled and unscrupulous tactics and stratagems against the Opposition, such as the politics of lies, hate and fear to defame DAP and myself as anti-Malay and anti-Islam so as to frighten the Malay electorate. The UMNO Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Dr. Asyrah Waijdi Dusuki is up to great mischief yesterday when he made the false and insidious allegations that the DAP is anti-Islam and is seeking to strike fear among Malaysians, especially non-Muslims, by portraying a Bill to enhance the Shariah courts to be the pathway to hudud implementation.
Let me ask Asyrah a direct question: Is he seriously suggesting that those who oppose PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill motion to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 are anti-Islam?
In that case, I want to further ask Asyrah whether he is accusing the PBB President, Datuk Abang Johari Openg, and the four PBB Muslim Ministers, Nancy Shukri, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department; Datuk Fadillah Yusuf, Minister for Works; Datuk Wan Junaidi, Minister for Natural Resources and Environment; and Rohani Abdul Rahman, Minister for Women, Family and Community Development as anti-Islam as the Sarawak Chief Minister had last month reaffirmed the directive of his predecessor, the late Adenan Satem, to all the Sarawak BN Federal Ministers and the 25 Sarawak Barisan Nasional MPs to reject Hadi’s private member’s bill motion?
Is Asyrah further accusing the former Sarawak Chief Minister, Adenan Satem for being anti-Islam for having issued such a directive to all the 25 Sarawak BN MPs last November?

Tonight’s good crowd at the Bersatu Pribumi Ceramah Perdana is a good beginning for a nation-wide movement to “Save Malaysia” from now to the next General Election expected to be held this year, probably in September.
I call on all patriotic Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics, to unite in the 14GE to “Write History, Create Miracle” to “Save Malaysia” from kleptocracy and hurtling towards a failed and rogue state.
I said in Parliament in November that kleptoracy is a government of 3Ps – Pencuri, Perompak and Penyamun.
I do not think any patriotic Malaysian, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics, want Malaysia to become a kleptocracy and they become citizens of 3P kleptocracy.
I had put a question at the current meeting of Parliament asking the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as to what steps the government has taken to cleanse and restore the good name and reputation on Malaysia from being regarded as a global kleptocracy.
Unfortunately, instead of answering one of the most important questions confronting Malaysians today, my question was rejected by the Speaker, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia as violating Standing Order 23(1)© which states that “a question shall not contain any argument, interference, opinion, imputation, epithet or misleading, ironical or offensive expression nor shall a question be frivolous or asked seeking information on trivial matters”. Yesterday, I called on MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers to stop making confusing, contradictory and misleading statements on PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill motion to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355) and to take a clear-cut and unequivocal stand firstly, that they oppose any government priority to Hadi’s private member’s bill motion for it to be debated and voted in the present meeting of Parliament; and secondly, they oppose any Federal government take-over of Hadi’s bill after the passage of Hadi’s private member’s bill motion.
All that the MCA Deputy President and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong could say was to make the ridiculous and baseless allegation that I was using “dirty tactics” to trap MCA and the other BN component parties.
I do not know whether to express sympathy or commiseration with the MCA Deputy President that the MCA and non-UMNO Ministers who feel and are behaving like mouse caught in a mousetrap of their own making, especially when they dare not even blame the UMNO leadership for putting them in such an unenviable plight.
MCA leaders like Wee can only blame themselves if they feel “trapped” on Hadi’s private member’s bill motion, all because of their lack of political principles.

MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers have been making confusing, contradictory and misleading statements on PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill motion to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355).
All the three MCA Ministers – MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Deputy President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and MCA Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chua – and the Gerakan President Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong have said that they would resign as Ministers if Hadi’s private member’s bill is passed by Parliament.
This is an empty threat as Hadi’s private member’s bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355) will never be passed by Parliament, as after Hadi’s private member’s bill motion (which is equivalent to the first reading of the private member’s bill), the UMNO/BN Government will take over Hadi’s Bill.
This has been clearly announced by the UMNO Minister in the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom who said that the Barisan Nasional government will take over Hadi’s bill from there, and it would become a government bill from second reading stage onwards.
As the International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has said publicly, from that stage, BN component parties will not be able to object to amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355) as the bill has been taken over by the Federal Government, and all the BN component parties are compelled to support the bill as part of the ruling coalition. When I issued a statement on 17th February to ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi to explain why security at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was so lax that it could become playground for foreign agents to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s half-brother, Kim Jong Nam, 46, I had not expected to hit the bull’s eye.
The events of the subsequent fortnight showed that without the knowledge of the Malaysian authorities, Malaysia had in fact long been the “playground” of North Korean secret agents and assassins to the extent that they could carry out the dastardly assassination of Kim Jong Nam by the use of one of the world’s deadliest nerve agents VX, which is among the most dangerous chemicals ever created by man and classified by the United Nations as a weapon of mass destruction. Malaysia’s Election Commission is one of the most inefficient in the world as I had been calling for automatic registration of voters as far back as 1971 – 46 years ago, when I first entered Parliament.
Today with all the technological advancements of Information Technology, there are still over four million eligible voters who have not been registered as voters on the electoral roll – which means that if these over four million eligible voters do not register in the next three weeks in March, they are unlikely to be able to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the 14th General Elections if held in September this year.
I just cannot understand why our IT expertise and capability is so backward that the Election Commission needs six months to process voters registration so that an eligible voter could vote in an election.
If other countries can have top-class IT systems which allow voters to register today and cast their vote tomorrow, why is the Election Commission’s IT system so antediluvian that it needs six months before a Malaysian voters can register and have the right to cast their vote in an election. UMNO Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has said that he is confident that UMNO’s allies in Barisan Nasional will finally accept UMNO’s explanation and understand the government’s decision to give priority to Hadi’s private member’s bill on RUU 355 and not only to support it, but to take one step further, for the Barisan Nasional government to take over Hadi’s private member’s bill after Hadi’s private member’s bill motion had been passed by Parliament.
Recently, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said that Hadi’s Private Member’s Bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355) enabled the government to circumvent the due constitutional process, as requiring consensus from all states, the National Islamic Council and the Rulers’ Conference.
This is what Jamil said: “You can’t bring it to the Rulers Conference if you don’t have consensus from 14 states, but a private member’s bill requires only one state or one person to table it.”
Jamil said that when Hadi’s private member’s bill motion moves to the second reading stage, it would be taken over by the government and read out by him.
Furthermore, the International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said that BN component parties will not be able to object to amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355) once the bill is taken over by the Federal Government, as the BN component parties are compelled to support the bill as part of the ruling coalition.
From these statements from the three UMNO leaders, it is crystal clear that the Barisan Nasional Federal government will give priority to Hadi’s private member’s bill motion in the current meeting of Parliament to be debated and voted on after the debate on the Royal Address, although MCA, Gerakan, MIC and Sabah/Sarawak BN parties claim that they oppose Hadi’s private member’s bill motion as violating the Malaysian Constitution and the Barisan Nasional consensus principle. We, G25, anxiously appeal for a promise from each honourable Member of Parliament to not support/cancel the debate on PAS’ private motion to amend Act 355, which will now be debated in Parliament.
We hope the honourable MPs would ponder upon and note that any amendment to Islamic laws should be done within the framework of the Federal Constitution.
Specifically, Article 4 provides for the superiority of the federal law and civil courts over state Islamic enactments and syariah courts.

Utusan Malaysia is a real disgrace to Malaysian journalism.
There is not a word of my reply to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s “Ali Baba” attack on the DAP although it devoted almost half a page in words and pictures to Najib’s attack on me.
Utusan Malaysia virtually carried in full Najib’s speech in Sindumin, Sabah on Saturday repeating the lie that I had reached a secret deal with Tun Mahathir where Mukhriz will be the Prime Minister and I the Deputy Prime Minister, and using that to mount further attacks on me, alleging that I would be the “most powerful individual”, that the Deputy Prime Minister would be deciding who is to be the Prime Minister if Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu succeeds in ousting UMNO/BN from Putrajaya and the Federal Government; and that this is a “ali baba” arrangement.
I have been in Malaysian politics for 51 years, but I had never asked any of the first five Prime Ministers – Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak, Tun Hussein, Tun Mahathir and Tun Abdullah – to see a psychiatrist, until yesterday when I asked Najib to see a psychiatrist.
This is because Najib is building a monumental structure of arguments based on a Big Lie – that Tun Mahathir and I had reached a secret deal where Mukhriz would be Prime Minister and I would be Deputy Prime Minister if Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu wins Putrajaya in the 14GE. There is no such agreement, as I had never discussed with Mahathir the questions as to who would be Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister if Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu defeat UMNO/BN in the 14th GE – and the purported secret meeting between Mahathir and myself on 3rd December 2016 never took place.

I am very intrigued why the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has decided to pull out all the stops and launched into an unrestrained and unjustified attack on me when in Sindumin, Sabah yesterday.
What is the cause?
Has Najib given the “green light” for the holding of sudden Sabah state general elections and he is setting an example of the wild and unrestrained attacks which BN Sabah leaders should launch against the opposition in an attempt to preserve UMNO/BN power in Sabah state?
We will know soon enough whether there will be snap polls in Sabah.
However, even the imminence of a snap polls for the Sabah state assembly could be no justification for the unprincipled and baseless attacks which Najib launched against me in Sabah yesterday.
Najib said that I would be taking up the position of Deputy Prime Minister should UMNO/Barisan Nasional are ousted from Putrajaya and there is a change of Federal power in the 14th General Elections.
Apart from the truth that UMNO/BN may be ousted from Putrajaya and Federal power in the forthcoming general elections by Pakatan Harapan plus Bersatu, the rest of Najib’s attacks on me are a tissue of lies and falsehoods.
Why should a Prime Minister of a country stoop so low as to indulge in such lies and falsehoods in attacking the Opposition? DAP pledges if Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu succeed in forming next Federal Government in Putrajaya, FELDA would not be closed down but will instead be strengthened so that FELDA settlers can get a new deal of justice and prosperity

UMNO Ministers and leaders have been trying to exploit the four-day visit of King Salman of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia as proof that there was nothing hanky-panky about the RM2.6 billion in the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s personal banking account in 2013, and even claiming that Salman’s silence could only mean confirmation that the RM2.6 billion in Najib’s personal banking account had come from Saudi Arab royal circles.
These claims are of course nonsensical and preposterous, and as I said in Johor Baru four days ago, the most significant thing about King Salman’s visit to Malaysia was not what was said or done by the Saudis, including the signing of the US$7 billion (RM31 billion) agreement by Saudi Aramco to take a 50 per cent stake in Petronas’ Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project in Pengerang but what was not said about the RM2.6 billion “donation” in Najib’s personal bank accounts.
I am not surprised that an UMNO leader said that this was my most “dungu” (idiotic) remark to date, for what intellectual capability can one expect from the UMNO leadership when an UMNO Minister could tell ten lies in a short five-paragraph statement while the UMNO Information leader could tell more than eight lies in another short statement, and both of them dared not accept my challenge to a joint media conference for me to point out their lies one by one?
UMNO leaders who claim the Saudi Arabia’s King Salman’s visit to Malaysia is a sort of vindication of Najib’s innocence in the RM2.6 billion donation scandal have too low an opinion of both King Salman and the Malaysian public.
There is no way that Salman is unaware of Najib’s RM2.6 billion donation and RM52 billion 1MDB scandal is Najib’s greatest Achilles’ heel. Just google-search “1MDB” and you will get 3.7 million results in 2.8 seconds.
The reason why Salman could not say RM2.6 billion in Najib’s personal banking account was his donation is very simple – the Saudi Arabian king knows that the US Department of Justice (DOJ) legal suit to confiscate US$1 billion 1MDB-linked assets, is a public document in black and white, and it had traced in detail the “to and fro” “money trail” of the so-called RM2.6 billion “donation”, establishing beyond a shadow of doubt that they could not be a donation from Saudi Arabian royal circles. Yesterday in Sandakan, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak asked a rhetorical question, that if Malaysia is a failed state, whether King Salman of Saudi Arabia would have come to Malaysia with a large aircraft with a huge entourage?
If Salman’s entourage is an indication of the success of the countries visited by the Saudi King, it would mean that Indonesia is more than twice successful than Malaysia as Salman came to Malaysia with an entourage of 600 while he visited Indonesia with an entourage more than twice that number, i.e. 1,500!
It is of course silly to use the size of the Salman’s entourage as a yardstick to measure the success of the countries visited by the Saudi King.
I have never said Malaysia is a failed state. But unless we pull up our socks, we are in the trajectory of hurtling towards a failed and rogue state. Read the rest of this entry »

Malaysian financier Jho Low is alleged to be the mastermind behind the convoluted labyrinth of offshore vehicles involved in pilfering billions from 1MBD. Has he done too good a job at hiding the assets?
U.S. prosecutors allege that billions were pilfered from Malaysia’s 1MDB. Instead of financing the country’s development, prosecutors allege that millions were spent on luxury hotels like the Park Lane in New York, fine art by Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet, a recording catalogue and even financing for the Hollywood blockbuster «The Wolf of Wall Street».
The scandal has engulfed Swiss banks, many of whom acted as a pass-through in Singapore for money to move elsewhere, though the scandal has also reached Zurich itself.

Puad has confirmed that he is not fit to be Deputy Education Minister or JASA director-general

I always had doubts about the communication skills or language comprehension of Mohd Puad Zarkashi and wondered how he could be a Deputy Education Minister in the first Najib administration and now the director-general of the propaganda outfit in the Communications and Multi-Media Ministry, JASA.
My doubts about Puad’s intellectual capability has been confirmed from a WhatsApp “JASA Update” message put out this morning, as follows:

Najib has still to fully honour his 2015 pledge to 750,000 pensioners that he would be the person of last resort to resolve all their legitimate complaints and grievances re the sudden, unethical and cruel halt of supplies of medicines and equipment by private hospitals and pharmacies

Yesterday, I asked the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to honour his pledge in April 2015 when launching the Government Pensioners’ Foundation that pensioners should “come to me if you need help” by intervening and resolving within 24 hours the sudden, unethical and cruel halt of supplies of medicines and medical equipment to 750,000 pensioners by the private provider, OratisRx Sdn Bhd.
The 750,000 pensioners were caught by complete surprise when private hospitals and pharmacies were given less than 24-hour notice by OratisRx Sdn. Bhd on 27th February 2017 to stop all medical supplies to the pensioners as “any claims of repayment for supplies after February 27 2017 are invalid and not the responsibility of OratisRx Sdn Bhd”!
My call to the Prime Minister had some effect, for it compelled the PSD to issue a late-night announcement that pensioners can still obtain medication from public hospitals after the termination of the Electronic Medical Automation Supply System (e-MASS) that allowed pensioners to get medication from private hospitals and pharmacies.
