Ex-menteri besar being wooed to head the state, which has been led by opposition PKR since 2008
Malaysia’s ruling party Umno and Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) are working out a pact to take over Selangor in the next general election, a move that could shake up voting patterns nationally.
Prime Minister Najib Razak and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang have been in near-daily contact for several months, with plans afoot to cooperate in Selangor at a general election due within a year, sources say. Closer ties between the Umno president and his counterpart from the opposition Islamic party have so far been to champion the interests of the Malay-Muslim majority for their mutual benefit.
But coming to an arrangement in Malaysia’s richest state could prove a launch pad for further agreements between the two parties nationally. And it could well turn the tide against the Pakatan Harapan opposition alliance, which is already seeing some discord after influential former premier Mahathir Mohamad was unveiled as its chairman last month.
However, both Umno and PAS still need a credible candidate to head the state. Read the rest of this entry »
Isa Samad should not have been forced to wear orange-coloured MACC lock-up uniform when taken to court for remand, but he should also not continue to hold the post of SPAD Acting Chairman
Posted by Kit in Corruption, UMNO on Wednesday, 23 August 2017
It is wrong, improper, unconstitutional and most humiliating and demeaning to force Tan Sri Isa Samad to wear the orange-coloured MACC lock-up uniform when he was brought to court for remand proceedings as it breached a detainee’s fundamental liberty under the Federal Constitution.
I call on the MACC to immediately cease all such unconstitutional and demeaning practices especially as a member of the MACC advisory board, Datuk Mohd Noor Abdullah, a former Court of Appeal judge, yesterday stressed that a detainee’s fundamental liberty included being presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Mohd Noor Abdullah should find out from the MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Dzulkfli Ahmad whether the MACC proposes to immediately cease such demeaning practices, abuses of power and violation of the constitution, failing which he should requisition for an emergency meeting of the MACC advisory board to put a halt to such improper, unconstitutional and demeaning practices. DAP will be able to help Pakatan Harapan win the Kedah state government if DAP contests in Kulim and Gurun
In the past week, I had discussed the possibility of Pakatan Harapan (PH) winning 113 parliament seats in Peninsular Malaysia with the help of a Malaysian tsunami which will rid the country of BN’s 60 year rule and allow us to start on a clean slate under a new government.
This Malaysian tsunami will take place if 10% of Malays and 5% of non-Malays were to switch their votes from the BN in the 13th General Election in 2013 to PH in the forthcoming 14th General Election and that voters make a clear distinction between supporting PH and rejecting PAS.
Under these circumstances, even with PAS playing the role of a spoiler, PH will not only win the majority of parliament seats in Peninsular Malaysia, it will also win control of the state governments in Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Johor in addition to retaining Penang and Selangor with even larger majorities compared to GE2013.
Under this scenario however, the outcome in Kedah will be a 18-18 deadlock between the Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, with PAS unable to win a single seat in Kedah although PAS candidates will be responsible for BN winning 14 of the 18 seats because of split votes.
DAP will be able to help Pakatan Harapan break this 18-18 deadlock so that PH can win the Kedah state government if DAP contests in Kulim and Gurun state assembly seats as well as to mobilise support for Pakatan Harapan candidates in Central and Southern Kedah, instead of just being focused on the two state assembly seats in Alor Setar. The ruckus and pandemonium at the 1MDB “Nothing to Hide 2.0” forum has served to further highlight Najib’s prevarications and dishonesty on the 1MDB scandal which caused Malaysia to be belittled world-wide as global kleptocracy overnight
The ruckus and pandemonium at the 1MDB “Nothing to hide 2.0” forum at Shah Alam on Sunday has served to further highlight the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s prevarications and dishonesty on the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal which caused Malaysia to be belittled world-wide as a global kleptocracy overnight.
If the 1MDB “Nothing to hide 2.0” forum, where the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak dared not turn up although he was invited to share the panel with former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, had not been sabotaged, it would just be a footnote in the long saga of multifarious activities and events by loyal and patriotic Malaysians to ensure full accountability and responsibility for the 1MDB scandal.
Now the 1MDB “Nothing to hide 2.0” forum has been elevated as one of key events to demand full accountability and responsibility for the 1MDB scandal, as it has further highlighted both Najib’s role and his evasion of responsibility and full accountability for the kleptocratic scandal.
I fully share the outrage of decent and rational Malaysians at the sabotage of the 1MDB “Nothing to Hide 2.0” forum, and particularly the planned attacks on the 92-year old former premier.
The news portals and social media conveyed many of these outrages. Read the rest of this entry »
Why the tape recording of the Mahathir-Zahid meeting in 2015 has yet to be publicly played?
With the velocity of the Mahathir-Zahid spat showing no let-up, but increasing in intensity with each passing day in the past week since it was triggered by the Deputy Prime Minister and Acting UMNO Deputy President, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi, an UMNO Johore State Assemblyman, Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid Jumat has warned against playing “strip poker” with Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
I do not know what is this UMNO “strip poker” but as is customary wont in UMNO politics nowadays, the DAP is always accused of either masterminding or capitalizing from these UMNO-related political gymnastics or acrobatics. Read the rest of this entry »
14th General Election is around the corner and UMNO faces the possibility of historic triple losses in next polls
The 14th General Election is around the corner.
Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi, let slip this possibility when he spoke at the Merbok UMNO AGM in Sungai Petani last night and continued the Zahid-Mahathir spat started by the Deputy Prime Minister striking the first blow by taking a dig at the 92-year-old’s Indian heritage.
Zahid told.Umno Merbok to hold on to the Merbok parliamentary and Tanjung Dawai state seats and reclaim the Bukit Selambau state seat if they wished to enjoy rewards.
He said: “I have heard requests for allocations for a hostel, canteen and water pipe upgrade here. I promise to return in six months with gifts if you can retain Merbok and Tanjung Dawai and take back Bukit Selambau.
“In GE11, we made a clean sweep of all three but in GE12, we lost all three seats and the state of Kedah along with that. Don’t let it happen again.”
This would mean that the 14th General Election would be all over in six months’ time, pointing to general polls this year rather than next year. Read the rest of this entry »
Najib would have been found guilty in any consumer court for making false representations when he claimed that UMNO does not practise the politics of fear but spread the politics of hope
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said in Perak today that UMNO does not practise the politics of fear as it spreads the politics of hope.
If the Prime Minister can be dragged to the Consumers Courts, Najib would be found guilty of making false representations claiming that it is practising the politics of hope when it is most guilty of practising the politics of fear!
For instance, Najib said in Perak today that DAP dominates Pakatan Harapan, and what is even shocking, that former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and two former Deputy Prime Ministers, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin have become my stooges and puppets, answering my every “beck and call”.
Could this be true? Read the rest of this entry »
Today calls for celebration: I have become the most powerful person in Malaysia but how come I do not know about it?
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Financial Scandals, Parliament, UMNO on Tuesday, 25 July 2017
Today calls for celebration. I have become the most powerful person in Malaysia, but how come I do not know about it?
I am honoured that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, had used the international conference on 13th Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (IMKL) to announce that I am the most powerful person in Malaysia who could do what even the Prime Minister himself could not do – to make two former Deputy Prime Ministers, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the longest-serving former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, as my stooges and puppets to do my every beck and call, although I am “hiding” at the back to “dupe the Malays”.
What immediately come to mind is whether the Malays are so easy to “dupe” after some six decades of UMNO government in Malaysia, and if so, whether it is an indictment and confession of the failure of UMNO government and policies that after 60 years of UMNO rule, it is so easy to “dupe” Malays in the country, “hiding” in the back?

Pribumi Bersatu is more Malaysian than UMNO, as former wants Malays to unite and work with other citizens as Malaysians, while the latter wants Malaysians to remain Malays, Chinese and Indians and is even trying to polarize the next elections as a battle between the Malays and Chinese
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Chairman Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad’s statement yesterday that his party cannot offer the DAP to use its logo as Bersatu must remain a Malay party if the DAP is de-registered which would render the party’s parliamentary and state assembly candidates unable to use the Rocket logo is being exploited by many quarters against the DAP.
Mahathir defended his stance as necessary in order to appeal to the Malay electorate.
He argued that Harapan’s past approach under its predecessor Pakatan Rakyat in 2013 failed to gain sufficient Malay support.
He said: “Whether we like it or not, the Malays are still very communal, which was why they are supporting Umno.
“If they see a multi-racial party, they will not support it. They (Pakatan Rakyat) got a lot of support from the Chinese but little Malay support and without it, you can’t win.”

Pakatan Harapan would have to achieve two political tsunamis in the 14GE to save Malaysia and to start the country’s journey as a normal democratic country
Posted by Kit in DAP, Najib Razak, UMNO on Monday, 24 July 2017
It was one week of political turmoil for UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers but one week of awakened new hope, confidence and expectation for Malaysians who want political change to save Malaysia from sliding down the trajectory of a failed and a rogue state.
UMNO/BN political leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers never expected that the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council meeting on July 14 would achieve the impossible, not only deciding on the new Pakatan Harapan structure, logo and leadership line-up but in effect announcing the Mahathir-Anwar reconciliation after almost two decades of political enmity.
This caused consternation among UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers who had hewn to the propaganda script of lies, fake news and false information about DAP leaders being the puppet-masters pulling the leaders of other Pakatan Harapan leaders, like Mohamad Sabu, Rafizi Ramli, Nurul Izzah, Wan Azizah, Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin Yassin and Dr. Mahathir Mohamdd on the puppet strings, doing the DAP leaders’ every beck and call.
This was why the Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak reacted to the new political scenario post-Pakatan Harapan announcement by trying to champion the DAP, demanding to know the reason for the absence of the DAP leaders among the top three Pakatan Harapan leaders and whether the DAP had been sidelined and marginalized.
But after a week of confusion, chaos and consternation about the UMNO/BN propaganda script that should be used against the DAP and Pakatan Harapan, the UMNO/BN “masters” reverted to the old propaganda script, as illustrated by the speech of the Wanita UMNO Chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in Gelang Patah that Tun Dr. Mahathir’s appointment as chairman of Pakatan Harapan was a mere “drama” staged by DAP “to obscure the Malay voters’ eyes from seeing truth” and that “Lim Kit Siang is hiding at the back” but the “real de facto leader for Pakatan Harapan”. Free advice to Najib and his propagandists – be consistent and credible or all their propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information will come to nought like MCA complaining about losing support of 85 per cent of Chinese voters in 13th General Election
Posted by Kit in Elections, MCA, Najib Razak, Pakatan Harapan, UMNO on Sunday, 23 July 2017
I want to give the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his propagandists a piece of free advice, that they should be consistent and credible or their propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information will come to nought like MCA complaining about losing the support of 85 per cent of Chinese voters in the 13th General Election.
The highly-oiled-and-financed UMNO/BN propaganda machinery suffered a paroxysm of doubt, uncertainty, contradiction and loss of direction when the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council on 14th July announced the new Pakatan Harapan structure, logo and leadership line-up, achieving what Najib’s kitchen Cabinet had thought impossible – the Mahathir-Anwar reconciliation after almost two decades of bitter political enmity.
The path-breaking Pakatan Harapan announcement, which reignited hopes among Malaysians that it is possible to dream and slog for political change in Putrajaya in the forthcoming 14th General Election, was a major blow to the UMNO/BN propaganda offensive of lies, fake news and false information built around the fairy tale DAP leaders and I myself in particular are the puppet-masters in Pakatan Harapan, and somehow, strong characters and personalities like Mohamad Sabu, Rafizi Ramli, Azmin Ali, Nurul Izzah, Wan Azizah, Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin Yassin and Mahathir Mohamad have suddenly all become my stooges and puppets, at my beck and call!
This was why the Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak thought he had found a chink in the Pakatan Harapan armour and was the first to jump out to champion the DAP, demanding to know the reason for the absence of the DAP leaders among the top three Pakatan Harapan leaders, whether the DAP had been sidelined and marginalized.
Various variations of this theme for a propaganda counter-attack by the UMNO/BN leaders and propagandists were tried out in the ensuing days, but they were trapped by the contradiction between claiming DAP leaders were the puppet-masters in Pakatan Harapan and alleging that DAP leaders had been sidelined and marginalized in Pakatan Harapan.
After a week of propaganda contortions and gymnastics, UMNO leaders and propagandists decided that it was more prudent and safer to return to the original propaganda theme that the DAP leaders had always been the dominant leaders in Pakatan Harapan.
This was why the Wanita UMNO Chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil came to Gelang Patah with the pronouncement that Tun Dr. Mahathir’s appointment as chairman of Pakatan Harapan was a mere “drama” staged by DAP “to obscure the Malay voters’ eyes from seeing truth”. Read the rest of this entry »
Sad reflection on Najib not so much on Sarifuddin that the propaganda offensive against Mahathir and Pakatan Harapan leaders have reached a new low, scraping the bottom of the barrel, in personal attacks
Posted by Kit in Mahathir, Najib Razak, Pakatan Harapan, Politics, UMNO on Thursday, 20 July 2017
After 52 years in politics, I thought no propaganda offensive and lies, however bizarre or outlandish, would have surprised me but I was wrong.
I refer to the scurrilous attack by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s aide, Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad on former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, playing on Mahathir’s description of himself as “top dog” of Pakatan Harapan and claiming that in reality the “top dog’s leash in Kit Siang’s hand”.
In my 52 years in Malaysian politics, I had faced six Prime Ministers – Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak, Tun Hussein Onn, Tun Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib himself, but I had never descended to the gutter level of making personal attacks on anyone or them, always respecting the highest offices in the land and the personalities involved.
The term “top dog” may not be the most apt and correct term, but it must be regarded as an absolute “No No” in Malaysian politics to have to raid the animal kingdom to lower the bar in personal attacks on political opponents, especially a former Prime Minister who had been the longest-serving premier in the nation’s history!

Window for Najib to hold 14GE this year closing as UMNO/BN leaders panic over serious challenge by Pakatan Harapan, after finalizing new structure and leadership line-up, to topple Najib and UMNO/BN in Putrajaya
It was panic stations for UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers for the last three days.
They just did not believe that it was possible for Pakatan Harapan leaders to resolve their differences and for the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council to conclude its Thursday night meeting fruitfully and productively, with a midnight media conference and announcement of the new Pakatan Harapan structure, logo and leadership line-up.
UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers never believed that a reconciliation between Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim was at all possible!
This was why in the initial panic responses, UMNO/BN leaders and propagandists forgot their false but carefully contrived “black ops” demonization campaign of lies, fake news and concocted stories to picture DAP has the evil force dominating and running the Pakatan Harapan with me as the “dictator of dictators” who had made the leaders of PKR, Amanah and Pribumi Bersatu, namely Mohamad Sabu, Azmin Ali, Rafizi Ramli, Nurul Izzah, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad into my stooges and puppets, completely at my “beck and call” and obedient to my every directive and wish.
The Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak, was so shocked that he shot off an immediate statement demanding an explanation for the absence of the DAP leaders in the top three positions in the Pakatan Harapan, asking whether the DAP had been sidelined.
How can the DAP be sidelined, when according to the “black ops” propaganda campaign of the UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers for the past few years, the DAP was the mastermind of every action and step among the Opposition parties – presumably including every action taken by PAS leaders when PAS was in Pakatan Rakyat before the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang buried Pakatan Rakyat at the June 2015 PAS Muktamar? Reply to Salleh – DAP neither sidelined nor do we dominate Pakatan Harapan, which is coalition of political equals based on the operational principle of consensus, unlike Barisan Nasional which is founded on UMNO hegemony
Posted by Kit in Media, Pakatan Harapan, UMNO on Friday, 14 July 2017
The Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Salleh Said Keruak was mystified by the Pakatan Harapan leadership council decision yesterday on the structure of Pakatan Harapan and asked about the absence of the DAP leaders in the top three positions in the Pakatan Harapan line-up.
He asked: “Was DAP sidelined or the line-up was deliberately done to make as if the coalition is dominated by the Malays?”
It is neither.
DAP is neither sidelined nor do we dominate Pakatan Harapan, which is coalition of political equals based on the operational principle of consensus, unlike Barisan Nasional which is founded on UMNO hegemony.
For quite some time, the main thrust of UMNO/BN propaganda of UMNO leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers was to purvey the lies, fake news and false information that DAP dominated Pakatan Harapan and that I am a “dictator of dictators”, exercising dictatorship not only in DAP but also in Pakatan Harapan; and that Malay leaders like Mohamad Sabu, Azmin Ali, Rafizi Ramli, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Tan Sri Muhyiddin and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad have sold their soul and were just my stooges and puppets.
This serves the UMNO grand strategy of a propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information to poison the Malay ground with the fear that if UMNO is defeated in the next general election, the Malays will suffer as the Chinese will grab the political power from the Malays.
These are all lies – for Malaysia can only start anew and find greatness if UMNO is defeated; and if UMNO is defeated, the Chinese will not grab the political power of the Malays as Malay political power in Malaysia is assured, with the Prime Minister from Pakatan Harapan a Malay and not a Chinese or non-Malay. Khairy should ask Najib at Cabinet tomorrow to appoint another Minister to be responsible for TN 50 if Khairy does not have the courage to get the Najib administration to give proper accountability on international 1MDB money-laundering scandal

I am still waiting for the UMNO Youth Leader and Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, to reply to my statement yesterday and explain in clear terms his call that Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and I should retire from politics.
I will await Khairy’s elucidation before responding to his call.
But Malaysians want to know why Khairy has suddenly gone so quiet, and in particular, why he has yet to respond to the lament by Tunku Makhota Johor, Tunku Ismail Ibrahim who asked “What’s happening to a country I used to respect? A country that I was once proud to call my home”.
In fact, Tunku Ismail Ibrahim’s lament reminds me of the concern of another Johorean, former Deputy Prime Minister, Tun Musa Hitam, when he launched his autobiography, “Frankly Speaking” in April this year.
Musa warned that Malaysia was going downhill slowly, but the situation could get worse quickly.
He said there was a great distraction in the current Malaysian political scenario that was causing a loss of focus on the wellbeing of Malaysians. Read the rest of this entry »
Cabinet meeting tomorrow should send all Cabinet Ministers for re-education as Salleh’s blog is a shocking revelation of the abysmal educational standards of Malaysian Ministers
The Cabinet meeting tomorrow should send all Cabinet Ministers for re-education as the blog of the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak on Sunday entitled “What a dictatorship really means” is a shocking revelation of the abysmal educational standards of Malaysian Ministers.
How many of the 36 Ministers would be shocked by Salleh’s blog because it would reveal not only the abysmal educational standards of the blogger Minster but the other Ministers as well?
I believe that the majority of the 36 Ministers would not be shocked at all or see no reason why anybody should be shocked. This is the very reason why all the Cabinet Ministers needs to undergo a “re-education” programme.
There have often been complaints of declining educational standards today as compared to yesteryears, and Salleh’s blog provides the strongest proof of such inexorable decline of educational standards in Malaysia over the decades.
Salleh’s three-paragraph blog on “What a dictatorship really means” is full of fake and false history in every paragraph, which may be the proper background and credentials for one who is to preside over a massive black-ops propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information against political opponents. A major failure by UMNO “demonizers” as their black propaganda that DAP is anti-Malay and anti-Islam getting no traction among ordinary Malays and Muslims in East Coast simply because they are lies, fake news and false information
I have returned from a three-day 1,200-km “Jelajah Raya di Pantai Timur” in Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri in the East Coast states.
I had at least three objectives.
Firstly, I was on a mission of moderation. There is no point in Malaysia preaching the wasatiyyah principles of moderation, justice, compassion, balance and excellence to other countries in international conferences when Malaysians are allowed to disregard these very wasatiyyah principles at home. I weep for Najib – with 1MDB billions, can’t he find smarter and more intelligent propagandists, publicists and cybertroopers?

I weep for Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and President of UMNO/Barisan Nasional. With his 1MDB billions, can’t he find smarter and more intelligent propagandists, publicists and cybertroopers?
There is an idiom that “If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys”. But what happens if you get the same results despite loaded with tons of money?
The latest attack on DAP by Najib’s army of propagandists and publicists, rushed out to the media late last night and directed at the DAP Director of Political Bureau and MP for Kluang, Liew Chin Tong, provides one such classic example.
I was taken aback by the “gutter” contents of the statement, which I will not dignify as Chin Tong has ably responded to it, except to refer to the last two sentences in the statement, viz:
“We are now in the 21st Century. Dictators are relics of the past – although the opposition, even though it claims to speak for democracy, now has not one but two dictators leading it.”
May be I should congratulate Najib for being able to find a “genius” who could think of a country, a political system or a political party with two “dictators” – making nonsense of the meaning of a dictator. Read the rest of this entry »
Three instances where Hadi and his hardline mainstream leaders in PAS were caught red-handed as foremost apologists for UMNO kleptocracy and emulating UMNO propaganda campaign of demonization against DAP and Pakatan Harapan

Nobody would have thought that PAS would one day become the foremost apologist for UMNO kleptocracy and emulated UMNO propaganda campaign of demonization against the DAP and Pakatan Harapan.
But the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang and his hardline mainstream leaders in PAS were caught red-handed in three such acts in the past one week.
It started with Hadi’s Open Letter to All Political Parties on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfriti, joining forces with UMNO propagandists to divert the agenda for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri “balek kampong” discussions from 1MDB mastermind Jho Low’s gift of US$27.3 million pink diamond necklace and other multi-million US dollar gifts to the “wife of MO1”, the handing over of multimillion US dollar gifts by Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and American actor Leonardo DiCaprio to US Department of Justice (DOJ) investigators to alleged “foreign interference” in Malaysian domestic affairs by US DOJ’s kleptocratic suits to forfeit US$1.7 billion 1MDB-linked assets from US$4.5 billion 1MDB international money-laundering scandal. Why UMNO leaders like Razali and Zainal treat Najib’s wasatiyah principles of moderation, justice, balance and excellence with contempt in Ramadan month by telling lies and support extremist behaviour?
Posted by Kit in nation building, UMNO on Thursday, 15 June 2017
We are past the midpoint of the Ramadan month and it is most regrettable that this holy month for Muslims in Malaysians to be better Muslims – just as we want non-Muslim Malaysians to be better Buddhists, better Christians, better Hindus, better Sikhs and better Taoists so as to become better Malaysians – had been marred by various incidents contrary to the values of peace, tolerance, mutual respect, goodwill and solidarity we want to inculcate among the diverse races and religions in the country.
There was firstly the voice of intolerance, distrust and even hate demanding that non-Muslims should be excluded from all buka puasa events.
Then there was the disgraceful episode at the Bazaar Ramadan Kluang where DAP MP for Kluang Liew Chin Tong was roughed up on a visit of goodwill and solidarity.
In the holy month of Ramadan, gutter politics and the politics of lies, falsehood and incitement of hatred reached new depths when Selangor DAP leader and municipal councillor Young Syefura Othman, or better known as Rara, was demonised on the social media for her visits to Ramadan bazaar in Cheras while DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Seputeh, Teresa Kok, had to lodge a police report over a false press statement released under her name in connection with a “Jerusalem’s Jubilee” event in Melaka, when she had no idea what the event was all about!
