Will Najib set a “wasatiyyah” example instead of leading a campaign of lies and falsehoods against the Opposition in the run-up to the 14GE?

Will the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak set a “wasatiyyah” example and not lead a campaign of lies and falsehoods against the Opposition?
It is most unfortunate that in his UMNO Presidential Speech on Thursday, beating the war-drums for the impending 14th General Election, Najib spearheaded a campaign of lies and falsehoods against the Opposition.
He accused DAP of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam, that “DAP yang terang terang Anti-Melayu dan Islam, sebagai tercatat dalam perlembagaan DAP, langsung tidak meyebut Islam sebagai Agama Persekutuan”. Another Najib argument why the DAP is anti-Malay and anti-Islam is DAP’s commitment for a secular Malaysia.
Present at the 71st UMNO General Assembly opening were the leaders of the other 12 Barisan Nasional component parties, such as MCA, MIC, Gerakan and the Sabah and Sarawak component parties.
Is Najib aware that his baseless attack on the DAP as anti-Malay and anti-Islam applies in equal measure to the 12 other BN component parties, as his criticism that “tercatat dalam perlembagaan, langsung tidak sebut Islam sebagai Agama Persekutuan” applies to all the other 12 BN component parties as well?
Is Najib accusing the other 12 component parties of Barisan Nasional of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam just because of this? Read the rest of this entry »
Will UMNO General Assembly ignore three years in a row what the United States Attorney-General Sessions described yesterday as the world’s “kleptocracy at its worst” – the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal?

Will the 71st UMNO General Assembly ignore three years in a row what the United States Attorney-General Jeff Sessions described yesterday as the world’s “kleptocracy at its worst” – the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal?
At the opening speech for the Global Forum on Asset Recovery in Washington DC yesterday, US Attorney-General Sessions described the 1MDB scandal as “kleptocracy at it worst” when referring to United States government efforts in combatting corruption on the global level.
No other kleptocracy rated the prominence given by Sessions to the 1MDB scandal. Read the rest of this entry »
If not Dzulkifli, who ordered the MACC to arrest Shafie Apdal and 10 other Warisan leaders?
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Najib Razak, Sabah, UMNO on Saturday, 21 October 2017
I had not expected my retort to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, to take effect so fast.
On 28th September, I had replied to Dzulkifli who said a day earlier that people were watching me to judge my commitment and seriousness towards fighting corruption and abuse of power.
I observed that I had been watched by the people for the 52 years I had been involved in politics, and reminded Dzulkifli that the people were watching him whether he will be the head of the world’s first “kleptocratic” anti-corruption agency.
I never expected that the people’s “watch” on the MACC Chief Commissioner would within a month become a supreme test, which caused Dzulkifli to disappear from the public limelight in past 12 days except for a highly problematic statement four days ago, although he was dominating the public limelight almost on a daily basis previously.
Let us focus on the four-day remand of the Parti Warisan Sabah president, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal on his 60th birthday, in connection with MACC investigations into alleged misappropriation of at least RM1.5 billion in rural development funds intended for Sabah and the MACC arrest of Shafie’s two younger brothers and a number of other Warisan leaders. Najib doesn’t have GE14 in the bag

Malaysia’s 14th general election (or GE14) looms large. Some pundits predict that the election will be held sometime between November 2017 and March 2018. This is supposedly the best window for Prime Minister Najib Razak to lead Barisan Nasional (BN) to another victory.
But calling for a general election amid allegations of an epic financial scandal involving the prime minister himself is not an easy task. The 1MDB scandal, the subject of investigations in six countries, has badly affected Najib’s popularity. What the Prime Minister badly needs is a real feel-good factor that will overcome all these misfortunes. But this will be hard to come by. Read the rest of this entry »
Is Annuar Musa accusing the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak and Hussein Onn as anti-Islam because they upheld secularism as the bedrock principles of Malaysian Constitution and nation-building?
Posted by Kit in Corruption, UMNO on Monday, 16 October 2017
Is the UMNO Information Chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa accusing the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein Onn as anti-Islam because they upheld secularism as the bedrock principles of the Malaysian Constitution and Malaysian nation-building?
In his misnomer campaign of “Dialogue for All” in Kota Bahru on Saturday, Annuar launched a ferocious attack on the DAP, accusing DAP of being anti-Islam because the DAP constitution “clearly stated” that DAP was fighting for secularism, and secondly, alleging that the DAP feared an UMNO-PAS pact because the party did not want to see Malays and Muslims united.
I said Annuar’s national roadshow “Dialogue for All” is a misnomer as it would be more properly named as “Fake News for All”!
For Annuar’s edification, the DAP Constitution referred to the Merdeka Constitution 1957 as “a secular document, instilled with the principles of democracy, freedom, rule of law and respect of human rights; and imbibed with the ideals of accountability, equality, justice and human dignity” – a stand which had been taken by the nation’s first three Prime Ministers.
In accusing the DAP as being anti-Islam for taking such a stand, let Annuar declare whether he is also launching an attack on the first three Prime Ministers who were also UMNO Presidents for three decades from 1951 to 1981?
Or could Annuar differentiate the stand of the first three Prime Ministers from that of the DAP with regard to the Merdeka and Malaysian Constitution as a “secular document” laying down the bedrock principles of the Constitution and nation-building in Malaysia? Read the rest of this entry »
Thanks Ismail Sabri, for helping me win a small bet that an UMNO leader wannabe will jump on Zaid’s article as proof that I want to be Prime Minister of Malaysia
Thank you, Sabri Ismail Yaakob for helping me win a small bet that an UMNO leader wannabe will jump on Malaysiakini’s report “Zaid: Kit Siang would make a better PM than anyone in UMNO” as proof that I want to be Prime Minister of Malaysia.
We were not referring to the UMNO “washouts” like the UMNO Information Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who left MARA under an unresolved kleptocratic cloud and dare not even answer my five questions surrounding his credibility and integrity, or the Director-General of UMNO propaganda mouthpiece in the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, JASA, Datuk Mohamad Puad Zarkashi, but the “up-and-coming” UMNO leader wannabes who fancy themselves scaling tne top UMNO leadership hierarchy, and Ismail Sabri is clearly one of them! MCA should requisition a Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting to thrash out once and for all whether the UMNO/BN propaganda attack is going to be Mahathir is Lim Kit Siang’s stooge or Lim Kit Siang is Mahahtir’s stooge!
Posted by Kit in Corruption, DAP, Mahathir, Najib Razak, UMNO on Friday, 13 October 2017
I have just read the report on Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad’s blog suggesting that BN should make a decision regarding him and myself, decide who bought who, whether Mahathir has bought me or I had bought Mahathir.
UMNO leaders like the UMNO information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa keep repeating the claim that DAP dominates Pakatan Harapan, but MCA makes the very opposite allegation, accusing me of selling myself and DAP to Bersatu instead.
This is a most ridiculous scenario, and only those who cannot catch up with the times would make such a colossal blunder. Let me tell the UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders and propagandists that we are in the information era where information travels at the speed of light and not in the stone age or bullock cart era, where it is possible to restrict access to information.
Furthermore, it also highlights the Machiavellian and treacherous character of those responsible for the propaganda and information war of UMNO/BN that they are prepared to say different things to different audiences.
This is one basic difference between the Pakatan Harapan and the Barisan Nasional Coalitions, where the four component parties in Pakatan Harapan, whether DAP, PKR, Amanah or Pribumi Bersatu say the same thing and deliver the same message regardless of audience or location, while the Barisan Nasional component parties are utterly dishonest and hypocritical, with UMNO saying one thing to Malay audience but the MCA saying a completely different versio to the Chinese audience.
This itself would be a powerful reason why the time has come for the UMNO/BN coalition to be replaced, for Malaysia cannot succeed or progress if its leaders say different and even contradictory things to the people depending on the audience, circumstance and location. Read the rest of this entry »
UMNO is the country’s biggest manufacturer of “fake news” through its owned or controlled “mainstream media” especially Utusan Malaysia – will it direct them to stop publishing “fake news”?
Yesterday, the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak called on Malaysians to defend the nation from false news.
I instantly responded in a tweet: “Only time so far I agree with Salleh”.
However, I had added a caveat: “I oppose all fake news, whether against DAP and Pakatan Harapan or Umno/BN leaders.
“Will Salleh/MCMC (Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission) oppose all fake news, even those against DAP/Harapan leaders?”
In response, Salleh thanked me for backing his call on Malaysians to help counter fake news and information but did not specifically address the issues I raised, deflecting them with a very officious position that MCMC would make a similar stand on the fake news which targets the opposition.
He said: “The law is clear. If a report is lodged with MCMC, the necessary action would be taken.”
In the country today, the biggest manufacturer of “fake news” is none other than UMNO/BN through its owned or controlled “mainstream media”, led by UMNO-owned Utusan Malaysia.
For over 40 years from 1965, I did not exist as far as Utusan Malaysia was concerned, as all my statements, speeches and activities were blacked out in its pages, but in the past ten years since the 2008 General Election in March 2008, I became “big news” in Utusan Malaysia, with my photographs and reports getting huge play in the Utusan Malaysia, but not true news, but fake news. Annuar and the UMNO stooges are all wrong – DAP will not be the Pakatan Harapan party with the largest bloc of MPs from the 165 parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia
When UMNO Supreme Council member and Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Deputy Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman made a false accusation against Tun Mahathir and tried to claim that Mahathir was “injected with DAP’s blood”, everyone including UMNO leaders must be wondering what blood Tajuddin had been injected with because there is not a more foul-mouthed political leader today than Tajuddin who seemed to have no trace of “adab orang Melayu” at all.
Would UMNO Information Chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa agree with Tajuddin’s analogy of “blood injection” for the improper conduct of UMNO leaders to the extent that they have become the very personifaction not only of kleptocracy but “global kleptocracy”?
Has Annuar been affected by “injected blood” for his ongoing campaign to demonise me and Mahathir, especially in his speech yesterday alleging that the “formidable” and “invincible” politician had been “tamed” by me and that I deserved the title of “political dictator”?
As there is neither logic nor coherence in Annuar’s speech, it may be a good idea for Annuar to go for a blood test! Read the rest of this entry »
Discovery – Salleh Said Keruak is another “one trick pony”
I only came across the blog of the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak on “Kit Siang camouflaging his true ambitions” after I had issued my statement “Abdul Rahman should not be a ‘one trick pony’” on Abdul Rahman’s interview with Channel News Asia yesterday.
Suddenly I realized that there was not one but two “one trick ponies”, and both are from Sabah. Read the rest of this entry »
I have been in politics for 52 years and the thought of becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia had never entered my mind
Posted by Kit in Constitution, DAP, UMNO on Sunday, 8 October 2017
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakatan Harapan, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad today blogged that I had publicly stated that I had no ambitions to become Prime Minister of Malaysia.
I have been in politics for 52 years and I have stated more than once that the thought of becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia had never entered my mind.
If I had never thought of becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia when I was in my twenties, thirties and forties, why should I be thinking of becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia when I am in the seventies?
I am also on public record as saying that although the Malaysian Constitution provides that any Malaysian can be a Prime Minister, I do not see any non-Malay becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia during my lifetime.
In the United States, a black man Barack Obama became the President of the United States – but this took place some 230 years after the establishment of the United States in 1776.
I hope that Malaysia would not need 230 years before a non-Malay become Prime Minister, but I do not expect a non-Malay to become Prime Minister in the 21st century, but whether there will be a non-Malay Prime Minister in the 22nd century from 2,100 to 2,199 or 23rd century from 2,200 to 2,299 will depend on whether the politics of identity will not continue to be so primordial and elemental as a political force in the Malaysian political landscape as today.
But the political reality that for the next hundred years, the Prime Minister of Malaysia will be a Malay will not affect the UMNO strategists and propagandists from stepping up their campaign of lies and fear to hold the Malays to ransom by warning that Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the 14th General Election. Syed Saddiq should be a model for young Malays and young Malaysians to be true to our Malaysian Dream for the country to be show-case to the world of an united, successful, progressive, prosperous, plural nation of diverse races, religions, languages and cultures

Is Parti Bumiputra Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to be believed when he said that he turned down the bribe of a place in Oxford University and RM5 million in return for leaving Bersatu.
The UMNO information chief, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said Syed Saddiq is not worth RM5 million and that he has a long way to go in politics.
I believe Syed Saddiq is telling the truth.
I do not believe the “movers and shakers” in UMNO today regard Annuar is now worth RM5 million, and this is why Annuar is desperately trying to make himself useful with his nation-wide “4 All” UMNO dialogue programmes.
RM5 million is not a small sum to ordinary Malaysians, but it is just pittance to those who have found that UMNO is the “goose that lays the golden eggs”. Read the rest of this entry »
Were there “fireworks” in the Cabinet this morning with Education Minister Mahdzir demanding public apology from Adnan for leading students astray or was there Ministerial camaraderie laughing at the “great fun” at the Putrajaya school?
Were there “fireworks” in the Cabinet this morning as a result of the outrageous episode at SK Putrajaya Presint 14 (1) yesterday, where in honour of the visit by the Federal Territories Minister, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, hundreds of pupils and teachers were required to participate in a “class decoration and performance” competition with the theme “Umno and Independence”, where Umno flags were draped all over the primary school’s compound and the pupils brandished Umno flags and crooned the party’s anthem.
At one point, a banner with the words “Hidup Umno, Hidup Melayu. Dulu, Kini dan Selamanya” (Long Live Umno, Long Live Malays. Before, Now and Forever) appeared on stage.
There would be “fireworks” in the Cabinet this morning if we have an upright, honest and dedicated Education Minister who take his education portfolio seriously, and who will not brook any Minister trespassing into his portfolio to corrupt the minds of young Malaysians, and a Cabinet of Ministers who have not lost the basic value of being able to distinguish between right and wrong – and what Tengku Adnan did yesterday were positively wrong, no question about it.
Such an Education Minister and Cabinet of Ministers would have “fried” Tunku Adnan for his gross misdemeanours at the SK Putrajaya Presint 14 (1) requiring the student and teachers to stage such a vaudeville and even worse, his open begging of teachers to join UMNO! Read the rest of this entry »
Five political disasters in one week – isn’t it enough?
Posted by Kit in Corruption, MCA, Politics, UMNO on Sunday, 17 September 2017
What an anti-climax and a political disaster!
The much hyped-up media conference announcement this evening by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak which attracted not only national but world-wide attention proved to be an utterly inconsequential one of the former Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib rejoining UMNO, after leaving UMNO in 2013 to join PAS, and then leaving PAS in 2015 to join PKR.
May be, Najib should be congratulated for getting a better candidate to be Selangor Mentri Besar than the one Selangor UMNO/BN has at present, but whether “Mike Tyson” will inspire Selangor voters to give the Selangor Government mandate back to UMNO/Selangor is another question.
What is most deplorable is the “game” which UMNO propagandists and cybertroopers played on the media, to make then their “agents” to spread their ploy, naming various ex-UMNO personalities who would be returning to the fold, like Shafie Apdal, Tamrin Ghaffar, Khalid Ibrahim, etc. We are indeed seeing “swamp” politics of the most immoral and despicable variety now in Malaysia.
This is Najib’s fifth political disaster in a week. Isn’t it enough?

Najib knows he is not telling the truth because he knows that never in the nation’s history is UMNO/BN coalition more likely to be turned out of Putrajaya than in the 14th General Election
Posted by Kit in Elections, Najib Razak, UMNO on Saturday, 16 September 2017
The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak knows that he is not the telling truth when in his speech to an artificial crowd at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today, he said that the Chinese community must realise that it is highly unlikely that Pakatan Harapan will be able to capture Putrajaya in the next general election.
Najib said the political reality is that the Malays only have two parties representing them, UMNO and PAS and that Pakatan Harapan is not being supported by the Malays.
Najib knows that he is not telling the truth because he knows that never in the nation’s history is the UMNO/BN coalition more likely to be turned out of Putrajaya than in the 14th General Election.

For first time, Najib’s right-hand man has admitted that UMNO/BN could lose the Federal government in forthcoming 14GE
Posted by Kit in Corruption, Elections, Malays, Najib Razak, UMNO on Tuesday, 5 September 2017
I thank the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak for his candour in admitting that Malaysians are now on the cusp of major political changes with the possible defeat of UMNO/BN and the formation of a Pakatan Harapan Federal Government in the forthcoming 14th general election because of three factors:
• UMNO has lost the support of the majority of Malays in the country.
• UMNO losing support of the majority of the 1.6 million civil servants in the country.
• the highest percentage of UMNO members (at present, 3.5 million UMNO members) in UMNO history likely to vote against UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and UMNO in the 14GE.
What are the reasons and causes for UMNO losing the support of the Malays and facing the prospect of losing the majority support of 1.6 million civil servants and the highest percentage of UMNO rank-and-file voting against the UMNO President and UMNO in UMNO history?

Pakatan Harapan parties must be prepared for three-cornered electoral tests in the 14GE, including in Selangor, and start explaining to PAS members why a vote for PAS is a vote for UMNO
Today’s 14th general election preparations meeting for DAP Johor in Batu Pahat may be the last pre-election meeting as we do not know when the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak will dissolve Parliament, followed by the dissolution of the various State Assemblies, leading to the 14th General Elections – whether on his return from his shameful and humiliating visit to the White House and US President Trump on Sept. 12 in his capacity as a “kleptocrat” and “MO1”; or after Najib’s 2018 Budget presentation in Parliament on Oct 27; or the beginning of next year by May when the puasa month for Muslims next year begins.
Be that as it may, the 13th Parliament is already in the final fifth year and three months, and the dilly-dallying about dissolution of Parliament and the calling of the 14th General Election stem from the weakness and not from the strength of Najib and UMNO/BN government.
Pakatan Harapan parties must seize the political initiative and momentum sparked off by the seismic political milestone on July 14 when the four Pakatan Harapan parties of DAP, PKR, Amanah and Pribumi Bersatu decided to put their differences aside and get their act together, announcing the structure, logo and new leadership line-up of Pakatan Harapan.
There is no doubt that the July 14 decision of Pakatan Harapan reignited the hopes and expectations of the people, regardless of race, religion or region, on the possibility, however how difficult, of political changes in the country.

In the forthcoming 14th General Election, UMNO/BN likely to lose Johor Baru as the sole state capital won by UMNO/BN candidates
Posted by Kit in Johor Bahru, Johore, UMNO on Wednesday, 30 August 2017
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak boasted at the opening of the Johor Baru UMNO division delegates’ conference last Friday that UMNO is a political party that can also flourish in Malaysia’s urban areas.
He said the party’s success in Johor Baru, for example, proved that the nation’s largest Malay-based political party continues to receive the people’s support even though the city had undergone a rapid urbanisation process.
He said: “I’m very impressed with the success of Johor Baru Umno because in the political history of our country, if there is an urbanisation phenomenon, demographic change and rapid development in any city, sooner or later, the (administration of the) city will be transferred from Umno or BN to the opposition.
“There is no state capital that has remained as Umno-BN constituency, but congratulations to Johor Baru Umno for being able to balance the urbanisation process and retain Umno-BN’s power.
“Based on this fact, if anyone should say that Umno is a ‘village people or rural folks political party’, then Johor Baru Umno has proved them wrong.
“The support for Umno does not necessarily come from rural areas only because the party can indeed flourish in urban areas.”
From recent electoral trends in the last three general elections since 2004, Najib’s boast may be debunked in the forthcoming 14th General Election. Read the rest of this entry »
PAS under Hadi and the five “tembikai” leadership only want PAS candidates to be “suicide bombers” to ensure victory of UMNO candidates in 14GE to protect Najib as Prime Minister

In the “Mood of the Nation Ahead of GE14” survey from August 11 to 15, the Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE), it was found that an united Opposition comprising Pakatan Harapan and PAS can control seven states and the federal territory in peninsular Malaysia and gain 59% of the national popular vote.
The seven states are Penang, Selangor, Kelantan, Kedah, Perak, Pahang and Malacca.
Furthermore, Barisan Nasional will lose its two-thirds majority in the almost all remaining states.
IDE chief executive director Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman who presented the results of the survey which involved 4,486 respondents said the respondents were asked which party they would vote for if GE14 was held six months from now.
He said:
“If you obtain 52% of the popular vote (which Pakatan Rakyat did in the 13GE) you are still not secure, like what happened in Perak.

The best rebuttal to UMNO leaders’ claim that Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the 14GE comes from the Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar
UMNO leaders have been trying to hold the Malays to ransom by warning that Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the 14th General Election.
The best rebuttal to UMNO leaders’ warnings that the Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the forthcoming general election is from the Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan in his speech at the opening of the Sembrong Division UMNO delegates’ conference in Kluang yesterday.
Mohamad said Umno must woo the Malay voters to get the support of the majority of the people so that BN wins the 14th general election.
He said Umno could no longer think that the Malays needed it but instead it was Umno that needed the Malays in order to survive.
He said: “The Malays now have many choices such as PAS, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu). We (Umno) cannot be complacent saying that the Malays need us.”
Mohamad failed to mention DAP, as the DAP is party which will defend the uphold the interests of all Malaysians, whether Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans or Orang Asli.
In Penang and Selangor, which have been ruled by Pakatan governments after the routing of the UMNO/BN in the 2008 and 2013 General Elections, the Malays have been better cared for than in previous UMNO/BN administrations.
But what is most significant is that the myth of the equation that UMNO is Malay and Malay is UMNO, and that UMNO has to remain in power as the party is the only one that Malays can count on to uphold and fight for their rights, has been debunked by none other than their own Mentri Besar of Negri Sembilan.
