Why none of the leaders of MCA, Gerakan, MIC or the other BN component parties dare to claim that the seized RM114 million are BN assets and not just UMNO assets?

One question which Malaysians are asking all over the country is why none of the leaders of MCA, Gerakan, MIC or the other Barisan Nasional component parties dare to claim that the RM114 million in 26 currencies seized by the Police from the Pavilion Residences are Barisan Nasional assets and not just UMNO assets?

This question reflects the nature for the so-called Barisan Nasional coalition, where one party is the hegemon and the other 12 component parties are mere minnows.

But other questions about the UMNO claim for the return of RM114 million in 26 currencies seized by the Police on the ground that they were being transferred to the new UMNO leadership following Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s resignation as UMNO President cry for answer from the new UMNO leadership, viz:

1. Why is the new UMNO leadership headed by Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein keeping strangely silent on this issue – is the UMNO claim made on behalf of the UMNO Supreme Council or a by a proxy on behalf of Najib?

2. If the claim is made by UMNO, does UMNO know how much of the RM114 million in 26 currency belonged to UMNO?

3. If this claim is not made with the sanction or authority of the new UMNO leadership, will the UMNO leadership repudiate such a claim – or it dare not say whether the claim is made with or without its authority and approval?

4. Will the new UMNO leadership demonstrate that it is now committed to the principles of integrity, transparnecy and accountability, and ask the police to investigate the source of the RM114 million in 26 currencies seized from the Pavilion Residences, whether they were legitimate or not, and whether any money was given in return for certain projects awarded to them?

UMNO has still to clarify whether its claim is limited to the RM114 million in 26 currencies from 35 bags seized by the police, or whether it extended to the 35 bags with jewellery and watches and the 284 boxes of designer handbags.

Be that as it may, these ill-gotten gains will be an acid test whether UMNO can break from its kleptocratic past and start anew as a clean and honest political party dedicated to the principles of integrity, transparency and accountability or whether there is way that UMNO can reform itself.

How much is UMNO claiming from the multi-million ringgit items seized by the police from the Pavilion Residences linked to Najib?

UMNO is seeking the return of funds which the police have seized, on the ground that they were being transferred to the new UMNO leadership following Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s resignation as UMNO President.

This is most intriguing, Does UMNO know how much it is claiming from the items seized by the police from the Pavilion Residences linked to Najib as belonging to UMNO, and if it is unable provide a list to enumerate the details on the total amount claimed, how can UMNO lay any claim to the funds seized by the police?

What about the 35 bags with jewellery and watches – is UMNO laying a claim to them on the ground that they belonged to UMNO?

What about the 284 boxes of designer handbags – is UMNO laying a claim to them as well? Read the rest of this entry »

Zahid, you are wrong. You are not starting off as a good Opposition Leader and must learn to be constructive and honest

Let me tell the UMNO Acting UMNO President, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi – You are wrong. You are not starting off as a good Opposition Leader and must learn to be constructive and honest!

Zahid said on Tuesday that he believed that Barisan Nasional would be able to make a comeback against a government that is built on “hatred”, saying:

“A government that is built on hatred, on issues that (BN) could not respond to due to poor communication, or not being grounded in reality – eventually that government will be punished by the people.”

Speaking after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting on Tuesday, Zahid said BN can look to other countries where long-time parties were defeated but managed to make a comeback.

Firstly, Zahid should not follow the example of Datuk Seri Najib Razak who has not woken up from the bubble of his own making despite his disaster of a fortnight ago in the political earthquake of May 9, 2018.

Zahid was in fact describing what the UMNO/National Front had degenerated into when entering the 14th General Election, as it was a government “built on hatred” and not “grounded in reality”, and why it was punished by the people in the May 9 political earthquake! Read the rest of this entry »

Najib is showing signs of panic over likely outcome of the 14th GE

I am surprised that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak is showing signs of panic over the likely outcome in the 14th General Election on May 9.

I think he is rattled by the unexpected fall-outs over UMNO becoming an illegal political party, as all informed Malaysians cannot accept the contention that the Registrar of Societies have the power to extend for another 12 months until April 19, 2019 for UMNO Supreme Council elections to be held.

As veteran UMNO leader, Tan Sri Rais Yatim, had said, the Registrar of Societies is not the ultimate authority to determine or usurp the power of Umno’s constitution.

Rais has rightly asked: “Can the RoS do away with a party’s constitution and give rights that are not in the constitution?”

There is no good lawyer in the country who will contend that the RoS has powers to give another 12-month extension after April 2019, as clearly any such extension by the RoS is unlawful, unconstitutional and invalid. Read the rest of this entry »

Could the 14GE on May 9 be subsequently declared by the courts as illegal, null and void as a result of the UMNO/BN government’s flouting of the rule of law on UMNO as an illegal political party from April 20?

An intriguing question has arisen in the run-up to the 14th General Election, with nomination fixed this Saturday, 28th April 2018 and Polling on Wednesday, 9th May, 2018.

Could the 14GE on May 9 be subsequently declared by the courts as illegal, null and void as a result of the UMNO/BN government’s flouting of the rule of law on UMNO as an illegal political party from April 20?

The 16 Umno members who had taken legal action to challenge the validity of Umno as a political party for postponing the party election had been sacked summarily from UMNO, and they have announced filing contempt proceeding to challenge their sacking from UMNO.

The action filed by the 16 is on the basis that the Umno Supreme Council had breached Article 10.16 of the party’s constitution in delaying its party elections until next year.

I have discussed with senior lawyers on the matter, and they are quite unanimous in the view that the law is very clear that UMNO is today an illegal political party. Read the rest of this entry »

UMNO has become an illegal political party because Najib was indecisive and hesitant as when to hold 14GE, which involves very high personal stakes for him

UMNO has become an illegal political party because Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Prime Minister and President of UMNO, was abnormally indecisive and hesitant when to hold the 14th General Election, which involves very high personal stakes for him.

Under the UMNO party constitution, UMNO is required to hold UMNO Supreme Council elections once every three years, but the UMNO Supreme Council has the power to give an 18-month extension under special circumstances, like preparing for the 14th General Election.

The last UMNO triennial elections were held on Oct. 20, 2013, which means that UMNO Supreme Council elections must be held by Oct. 19, 2016 to comply with the three-year requirement or by April 19, 2018, if there is a 18-month extension decided by the UMNO Supreme Council.

On June 26, 2015, Najib announced that the UMNO Supreme Council had decided to put off party elections due in October 2016 by 18 months.

He said:

“According to Article 10.16 of the Umno constitution, the supreme council has the right to postpone elections for its supreme council, divisions and branches.

“This postponement cannot exceed 18 months from the date the elections were supposed to be held”, i.e. by 19th April 2018. Read the rest of this entry »

Double standard treatment of the case of UMNO/BN as illegal political parties is the last straw why the UMNO/BN must be replaced by Pakatan Harapan as Malaysian and Johore state governments on May 9

The double standard treatment of the case of UMNO/BN as illegal political parties is the last straw why the UMNO/BN must be replaced by Pakatan Harapan as the Malaysian Government in Putrajaya and Johore government in Nusajaya in the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018.

On the eve of dissolution of Parliament on April 7, 2018, PPBM (Bersatu) was issued with a 30-day provisional dissolution order by the UMNO/BN Government through the Registrar of Societies (RoS), forbidding Bersatu from holding any political activities.

Where were the concepts of justice, good governance and the rule of law when in fact, it was UMNO/Barisan Nasional which should be issued with a provision dissolution order by the Registrar of Societies as UMNO had violated its own party constitution on election of UMNO Supreme Council elections?

DAP was harassed for five years on the baseless ground that the DAP was an illegal political party based on the false and baseless premise that our Central Executive Committee elections in December 2012 was improper and defective, when it was in fact fully proper, legal and in accordance with the DAP constitution. Najib’s UMNO/BN has no respect for rule of law

The controversy over the legality of UMNO and Barisan Nasional, and whether the BN logo of daching can be used in the 14th General Elections, shows that the UMNO/BN of Najib Razak no more respects the rule of law.

The position of UMNO/BN, both of which have become illegal political organisations since yesterday as UMNO, the backbone of BN, is because UMNO has violated its own party constitution in not holding UMNO Supreme Council elections for 54 months.

Under Clause 10 of the UMNO party constitution, UMNO is required to hold UMNO Supreme Council elections once every three years, but the UMNO Supreme Council has the power to give an 18-month extension under special circumstances, like preparing for the 14th General Election.

As UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said at a media conference on June 26, 2015:

“According to Article 10.16 of the Umno constitution, the supreme council has the right to postpone elections for its supreme council, divisions and branches.

“This postponement cannot exceed 18 months from the date the elections were supposed to be held.” Read the rest of this entry »

RoS should have issued a 30-day provisional dissolution order to both UMNO and Barisan Nasional even before issuing such an order to PPBM on eve of dissolution of Parliament

The Registrar of Societies should have issued a 30-day provisional dissolution order to both UMNO and Barisan Nasional even before issuing such an order to PPBM (Bersatu) on the eve of dissolution of Parliament early this month.

Beginning today, UMNO has become an illegal political party.

It has violated its own party constitution which requires that election for the UMNO Supreme Council should be held once in three years. Read the rest of this entry »

Regret at Najib’s “makhluk” language and call for decent, honest and civil campaigning for the 14th General Elections

It is most regrettable that even before the official start of the 14th General Elections Campaign on Nomination Day on April 28, the Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional Chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has already resorted to gutter politics using the “makhluk” language when referring to opponents.

At the PRIMA groundbreaking ceremony in Teluk Intan on Wednesday, Najib warned that a makhluk (creature) who had “a penchant for creating fake news” was contesting in Teluk Intan against the Minister President of Gerakan Mah Siew Keong, clearly referring to Perak DAP chief Ng Kor Ming, who will be carrying the DAP/Pakatan Harapan standard in Teluk Intan in the 14GE. Only political party in Malaysia whose conduct is “What I want, I get; what I want, I take” is UMNO, resulting in UMNO hegemony in Barisan Nasional and Malaysia becoming a rogue democracy and global kleptocracy

I am here to announce that the DAP/Pakatan Harapan State Assembly candidate for Stulang, Johore is the incumbent, Andrew Chen Kah Eng.

The Johor Bahru MP, who is FELDA Chairman and former Minister, Tan Sri Shahriri Abdul Samad, in challenging me to contest against him in his parliamentary constituency, said “What DAP wants, DAP gets; what DAP wants, DAP takes”.

Shahrir is sorely mistaken, as in Malaysia, there is only one political party which conducts itself along the line, “What I want, I get; what I want I take” and that party is UMNO of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, resulting in UMNO hegemony in Barisan Nasional and Malaysia becoming a rogue democracy and a global kleptocracy.

In the past few days, we have seen several example of this “What I want, I get; what I want, I take” mentality in the political arena – the latest being yesterday’s provisional dissolution order of the Registrar of Societies to Bersatu, which provoked very strong language from former Wanita UMNO leader and former Minister, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz who described it as “despicable” “unconscionable” and “irresponsible”, and causing her to ask Najib why he is so fearful of the former Prime Minister that he must resort to every possible heavy-handed action in the playbook to prevent Bersatu from contesting in the 14th General Election.

She asked: “What has happened to justice, openness and democracy in this country?”

The provisional dissolution order to Bersatu is only one of five strategies which the UMNO/BN leaders and strategists have resorted to recently to enable UMNO/BN to steal the 14th General Election from the people of Malaysia.

The other strategies include the Election Commission’s Constituency Redelineation Report, the Anti-Fake News legislation and the continued deluge of lies, false information and fake news about Pakatan Harapan and civil society leaders.

When he was in Johor two days ago, Najib urged UMNO/BN leaders to go all-out to counter the Opposition’s lies – a call for more lies, false information and fake news against the Opposition.

I challenge Najib to a live-telecast public event where Najib can cite ten lies I have told about UMNO/BN in the past three years, while I will also cite ten lies which Najib had told about the DAP and the Opposition in the past three years.

Is Najib prepared for such a public encounter to prove who had been telling lies, false information and fake news in the past three years?

NS Mentri Besar’s half-apology most disappointing – hope Mohamad Hasan will still make amends with outright unconditional apology without any “Ifs” or “buts” or other wishy-washy justification

I had great admiration for the Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar, Datuk Mohamad Hasan as one of the few UMNO leaders who dared to face up to reality and truth and not to live in the world of fantasy like many UMNO leaders.

This was proven when he broke away from the mainstream UMNO mythology holding the Malays to ransom by warning that that Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the 14th General Election.
Mohamad Hasan provided the best rebuttal to UMNO leaders’ warnings that the Malays will perish if UMNO is defeated in the forthcoming general election in his speech at the opening of the Sembrong Division UMNO delegates’ conference in Kluang on 26th August last year.

Mohamad said Umno must woo the Malay voters to get the support of the majority of the people so that BN wins the 14th general election. Read the rest of this entry »

Will there be an Umno implosion?

Three latest news have reinforced the question: Will there be an UMNO implosion?

First was the call by the National Patriots Association President Brig-Gen (R) Mohamed Arshad Raji asking the Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan to apologise over his speech in Rembau inciting youths to “take physical action” against those who allegedly slander the government.

Arshad said that if politicians continue to make inflammatory speeches, then the next election will not be free of violence. Read the rest of this entry »

What are the reasons for UMNO leaders going bersek in making gratuitous, false and baseless attacks on tycoon Robert Kuok, even resorting to lies and falsehoods?

I cannot help thinking of the Greek saying “Those whom the Gods wish to destroy they first make mad” when I followed the mounting crescendo in the gratuitous attacks by UMNO leaders on tycoon Robert Kuok in the past three days.

I am utterly shocked that an UMNO Minister could even denounce Kuok as a “pondan”; “ayam betina”; “coward with no testicles”; challenged him to return to Malaysia to contest in the coming general election and even to surrender his Malaysian citizenship.

What are the reasons for UMNO leaders going bersek in making gratuitous attacks against tycoon Robert Kuok, even resorting to lies and falsehoods? Read the rest of this entry »

Call on Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan leadership to make a commitment to conduct fair, clean and honest politics, including not peddling fake news or disrupting activities of opposing political parties

I find the explanation of the UMNO/BN MP for Johor Baru, Tan Sri Shahrir Samad to the latest blackmark to Malaysian democracy, the disruption of the visit of Pakatan Harapan leaders to Kampong Bakar Batu in Johor Baru on Saturday night, to be most lame, pathetic and disappointing.

Is “kampong customs” all that Shahrir can say to defend the rude and thuggish behavior of UMNO members who disrupted the Pakatan Harapan programme, which involved the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Johor Secretary and former three-term Johore State Assemblyman for Kempas, Datuk Osman Sapian, the PKR Johor Information Chief, Akmal Nasir, AMANAH Johore Baru deputy chairman Muadz Jamaluddin, two DAP Johore State Assemblyman namely Andrew Chen Kah Eng (Stulang) and Cheo Yee How (Pengkalan Rinting) and myself?

Can Shahrir explain what are these “kampong customs” which justify rude and thuggish behavior against the peaceful and democratic political visit of Pakatan Harapan leaders?

What is even shocking is the fake news that was immediately manufactured and peddled on Whatsapp yesterday by UMNO cybertroopers who accused Andrew Chen of attacking the Kampong Bakar Batu Malays as “sangat biadap dan kurang ajar” for the incident, when Andrew Chen had never said such things.

I call on both the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan leaderships to make a commitment to conduct fair, clean and honest politics, including not peddling fake news or disrupting activities of opposing political parties. Read the rest of this entry »

Najib and Hadi have formed an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truths”

The surreal world of “fake news” and “post-truths” have finally come to Malaysia, with the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang showing his hand.

Hadi’s propaganda offensive in the past few days, echoing Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s baseless attacks on the DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, the dominant power in Pakatan Harapan with all other leaders, whether Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail or Mohamad Sabu as mere DAP puppets and stooges, marks an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truth”.

Undoubtedly, the Najib-Hadi duo would have top any “Fake News Award” in Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »

If Mahathir cannot help create a wave of change among the rural Malay voters for the 14GE in the remaining 100 days, then no other political leader could accomplish this “Mission Impossible”

The UMNO/Barisan Nasional is clearly rattled and panicking from the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council decision on January 7 to announce Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as the Pakatan Harapan Prime Minister-designate, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the Deputy Prime Minister-designate, and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The most important lesson of the 13th General Election of May 5, 2013 is that unless we can ensure a political tsunami in both the urban and rural areas, it will be impossible to bring about political change in Malaysia through the democratic process. Read the rest of this entry »

No anger or outrage but only pity and contempt that the MCA leader has sunk so low as to spread the atrocious lies of UMNO and PAS leaders that I want to be Prime Minister

I should feel angry or outraged but I have only pity and contempt for the MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai that he has sunk so low as to spread the atrocious lies of UMNO and PAS leaders that I want to be Prime Minister.

Even a person of minimum political sense would know that this canard has been used by UMNO leaders for quite some time to scare and railroad the Malay electorate to vote for UMNO in the next general election, as the centerpiece of their campaign of lies, fake news and false information that if UMNO is defeated in the next general election, the Malays and Islam would perish in Malaysia.

There is no need for me to repeat what I had said before that in my 52 years in politics, the thought of becoming Prime Minister has never entered my mind.

Let me reiterate my three basic political positions:

Hadi has jumped on the Najib bandwagon spreading the lies that I want to be Prime Minister and that if UMNO loses, the Malays and Islam will perish in Malaysia

PAS President Datuk Seri Hadi Awang has jumped on the Najib bandwagon, spreading the lies that I want to be Prime Minister and that if UMNO loses in the next general election, the Malays and Islam will perish in Malaysia.

The UMNO mouthpiece, the New Straits Times, today reported Hadi’s comments from Marang on the UMNO-generated controversy that “DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang could end up becoming the prime minister in the event the opposition wins the General 14th General Election”, quoting Hadi as saying that PAS most definitely oppose a non-Muslim leader becoming prime minister.

Hadi said: “Our priority is to ensure that a Muslim leads the country.

“That is important. We must ensure this country remains under the leadership of a Muslim.”

In the past week, both the UMNO owned and controlled printed and online media had been trying to generate a controversy over the dual theme of Najib’s speech at the recent UMNO General Assembly and which was repeated ad nauseam during the five-day UMNO Assemblies,, that I want to be Prime Minister and that if UMNO loses in the next general election, the Malays and Islam will perish in Malaysia but with no success.

Now Hadi is trying to salvage UMNO to keep alive the dual lies of Najib and UMNO, that I want to be Prime Minister and that if UMNO loses, Malays and UMNO will perish in Malaysia? Read the rest of this entry »

JASA Director-General is paid higher than a Minister because he must be a person who is no respector for the truth and must be in the forefront to tell lies to defend Najib and “global kleptocracy”

Last month, Parliamentary Opposition Leader Datin Seri Dr.Wan Azizah Wan Ismail asked in Parliament why the Director-General of of Special Affairs Department (Jasa) is paid more than the monthly salary of Ministers, including the Communications and Multimedia Minister, to whom the JASA Director-General is supposed to be answerable to.

This answer has been given by the JASA Director-General Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi in his response to my criticisms of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s summing-up speech at the UMNO General Assembly on Saturday.

It is clear that the reason why the JASA Director-General is paid higher than a Minister, including the Minister of Communications and Multimedia to whom he is not answerable to as he is accountable only to the Prime Minister is that the Jasa DG must be a person who is no respector for the truth and must be in the forefront even to tell lies to defend Najib and Malaysia’s infamy and ignominy as a “global kleptocracy”.
