MCA confident of winning big in 14GE but MCA Leadership’s Chinese New Year video unable to get the viewership of Teresa Kok’s fifth Chinese New Year video

The MCA leadership is confident of winning big in the forthcoming 14th General Election, which may be held after the Chinese New Year but definitely within the 75-day window from March to mid-May.

Whether the MCA will win big in 14GE will be known on Polling Day, but what is immediately known is that the MCA leadership’s Chinese New Year video featuring the MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Deputy President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and MCA Secretary-General Datuk Ong Ka Chuan – all three Cabinet Ministers – as well as the entire MCA national leadership is unable to garner the viewership of DAP Deputy Secretary-General and MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok’s fifth annual Chinese New Year video. Najib caught on the horns of a dilemma – to call for 14GE before or after the proposed unprecedented opening of the sixth session of the 13th Parliament by Yang di Pertuan Agong on March 5

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak is caught on the horns of a dilemma – whether to call for the 14th General Election before or after the proposed unprecedented opening of the sixth session of the 13th Parliament by the Yang di Pertuan Agong on March 5.

UMNO/BN leaders are getting increasingly panicky at the growing possibility that they may be ousted from Putrajaya, effecting the first change of Federal Government in the nation’s 61year-history.

It is not only UMNO/BN leaders who are guessing as to when Parliament will be dissolved for the 14th General Election to be held, I believe Najib himself does not know and is daily agonizing over the decision.

Although Najib is projecting a confident self, even claiming that UMNO/BN can regain two-thirds parliamentary majority in the 14GE, he is daily agonizing over the question as to when he should dissolve Parliament for the 14th General Election, although the window for the 14GE has been narrowed to 75 days from March to mid-May.

Should Najib dissolve Parliament before the unprecedented opening of the sixth session of the 13th Parliament by the Yang di Pertuan Agong on 5th March for a 20-sitting parliamentary meeting till April 5? Read the rest of this entry »

How pitiable and pathetic – MCA leaders appealing to the Chinese community for SOS against a fictitious DAP plot to “destroy” MCA

How pitiable and pathetic – MCA leaders appealing to the Chinese community for SOS against a fictitious DAP plot to “destroy” MCA.

This is a most desperate move of the MCA leadership to beg for Chinese support as their attempt to appeal for Chinese votes for the forthcoming 14th General Elections.

I was surprised to read the headline of the exclusive interview of the MCA Deputy President, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong in the front-page Sin Chew Daily today: “Wee Ka Siong: Beg Chinese community not to let MCA be destroyed”.

It has never been the intention of the DAP since our formation in 1966 to “destroy” the MCA, just as it is not our intention to destroy UMNO, Gerakan, MIC or any other political party, but to challenge these parties to better represent the best citizenship interests of Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region.

If Kuomintang of Taiwan, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan and the Indian National Congress can make a political comeback in their respective countries after being ousted from their governmental positions, why can’t MCA or UMNO for that matter do the same after they are defeated in the forthcoming general election? Najib has not yet called general elections because he is not confident UMNO/BN will be re-elected despite the mountain of fake news and false information UMNO/BN had spread about Pakatan Harapan

Despite the outward show of confidence, the fact is that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has not yet called general elections because he is not confident that UMNO/Barisan Nasional will be re-elected as the Federal Government despite the mountain of fake news and false information which UMNO/BN had spread about Pakatan Harapan.

The stakes for Najib are unbearably high, for if he loses the general election, he will not only lose the Prime Ministership, the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB kleptocratic money-laundering scandal which had been swept under the carpet will be exposed to intense national and international scrutiny, with all the attendant consequences.

Today Najib has come to northern Johore, for he knows that Johor, which had been a fixed deposit state for the ruling coalition over half a century until the 13th General Election, will be a critical state to determine whether he could be returned to Putrajaya as Prime Minister in the next general election.

If Najib had called for national election after the Sarawak state general election in April 2016, or after the two Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-elections in June 2016, or even last year, the chances of Najib winning the 14th General Election would have been quite high

But Najib has missed the opportunity in his procrastination in calling for general elections in 2016 or 2017.

Najib is hoping that the gerrymandering from the redelineation of electoral constituencies would provide him with a sure formula for UMNO/BN to be returned to Putrajaya, even with a two-thirds parliamentary majority which UMNO/BN had lost in the last two general elections in 2008 and 2013.

But if there is a political tsunami, not only in the urban areas but also in the rural and Felda areas, then the redelineation of constituencies is not going to save Najib.

Najib is presenting a very bold front of being very optimistic about the next general elections, to camouflage the quaking he is feeling about the uncertain prospects for him and UMNO/BN in the next general election.

In Muar today, Najib talked about the need for a party that was strong on its own and not relying on parties that depended on other parties.

Was Najib referring to the other Barisan Nasional component parties, like MCA, MIC ad Gerakan?

In the Pakatan Harapan, all the four component parties of DAP, PKR, AMANAH and PPBM have their own respective strengths, and it is from the unity and solidarity of the four parties in Pakatan Harapan that we hope to create history by evicting the UMNO/BN coalition from Putrajaya for the first time in 61 years in Malaysia.

It is very different however from the other Barisan Nasional component parties.

For instance, all the three most important leaders of MCA depend on UMNO’s votes to get elected as MP and then to become a Minister, raising the question whether MCA is representing the Chinese in Barisan Nasional or whether they are representing UMNO to the Malaysian Chinese?

In Bentong, the parliamentary constituency of the MCA President and Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, the single biggest ethnic bloc of voters are the 46.1% Malay voters, as Chinese voters represent 42.4%, Indians 9.0% and Others 2.5%.

In Ayer Hitam, the parliamentary constituency of MCA Deputy President and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, the largest ethnic group of voters are the 57.6% Malay voters, with the Chinese 38.3%; Indians 3.9% and Others 0.2%.

In Tanjong Malim, the parliamentary constituency of the MCA Secretary-General and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Datuk Ong Ka Chuan, the largest ethnic group of voters are again the Malays 55.4% with Chinese 25.8%, Indians 13.2% and Orang Asli 5.6%.

In fact, in Malay voters represent the largest ethnic group in

six of the seven parliamentary constituencies won by MCA in the 13th General Election.

As MCA fits the bill of Najib’s attack in Muar, can the Prime Minister explain why he is assaulting the MCA?

In his speech in Muar, Najib called for the people to support UNNO/BN to support a progressive Malaysia.

Ifi Najib is genuine in wanting a progressive Malaysia, then let him do two things immediately:

(i) Ensure that PKR Vice President and MP for Pandan Rafizi Ramli is not jailed or disqualified as a Member of Parliament for doing a national service for exposing the RM250 million National Feedlot Corportion (NFC) scandal; and

(ii) Cleanse Malaysia of the international obloquy of being a global kleptocracy in the past three years, and clean up the Augean stable of corruption affecting Felda, MARA, Tabung Haji and other government outfits.

Najib has achieved what five former Prime Ministers in more than half a century had failed to do – made the stratospheric ascent to become known as a global kleptocracy, with all the infamy and ignominy of the appellation.

This is very sad, as yesterday was the birthday anniversary of Bapa Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman who, like Datuk Onn, Tun Razak, Tun Hussein, Tun Mahathir and I believe Tun Abdullah, would never have conceived that Malaysia would suffer the shame and humiliation of being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy.

Furthermore, never before in Malaysian history have so many people’s representatives whether Members of Parliament or State Assembly members been harassed and hounded, including being selectively prosecuted in the courts under the variety of repressive and undemocratic laws to take away their liberties as well as to remove them from the legislative chambers in the land.

Even 93-year-old Tun Siti Hasmah, wife of former premier Tun Mahathir, was not spared.

I fully agree with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that the sentencing of Rafizi Ramli to 30 months’ jail for blowing the whistle on the NFC scandal shows the country needs to change its leadership, as the present nation-building trajectory can only lead to a regressive, repressive, a failed and rogue state and not a progressive, prosperous and united Malaysia.

Najib and Hadi have formed an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truths”

The surreal world of “fake news” and “post-truths” have finally come to Malaysia, with the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang showing his hand.

Hadi’s propaganda offensive in the past few days, echoing Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s baseless attacks on the DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, the dominant power in Pakatan Harapan with all other leaders, whether Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail or Mohamad Sabu as mere DAP puppets and stooges, marks an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truth”.

Undoubtedly, the Najib-Hadi duo would have top any “Fake News Award” in Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »

If Pakatan Harapan can win Ayer Hitam, both the Johore State Government and the Federal Government in Putrajaya would have changed hands from Barisan Nasional to Pakatan Harapan

I have an observation to make about the Ayer Hitam parliamentary seat and its Member of Parliament and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Wee Ka Siong, the Deputy President of MCA which is a race-based political party claiming to represent the Malaysian Chinese.

This is an observation which applies equally to the MCA President and Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, with regard to his parliamentary seat of Bentong.

When Wee contested in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary seat in the 2004 General Election, it was a Malay-voter majority seat and the racial breakdown of the voters in the constituency were 55.5% Malays, 40% Chinese; 4.3% Indians and 0.3% Others.

In the past 14 years, Ayer Hitam has become an even more Malay-majority constituency, with a decrease in the percentage of Chinese voter and increase in the percentage of Malay voters. Read the rest of this entry »

Touched by David Choi’s apology to Taiping farmer Lee who was arrested and remanded in Kuantan for two days as a result of MCA Youth police report for sharing a video deemed insulting to deputy minister Chong Sin Woon

I am touched by the news report of the Pahang MCA division leader who was suspended from party positions for apologising to a Taiping farmer Lee who was arrested as a result of a MCA Youth police report for sharing a video deemed insulting to deputy education minister Chong Sin Woon, following the latter’s “deity” jibe after the Penang floods, and was brought to Kuantan and remanded for two days.

David Choi was stripped of all party positions in the Indera Mahkota division, including as its public complaints bureau chief, committee member, and GE14 operation room, banner and pamphlet chief.

It is reported that the MCA division will write to the MCA central disciplinary committee to decide on Choi’s party membership.

Very aptly, Choi said in Chinese: “Man doing, heaven watching”. Read the rest of this entry »

DAP will form “senior citizens” branches throughout the country to tap the resources, talents and experience of senior citizens to contribute to the nation-wide campaign to “Save Malaysia from kleptocracy” in contrast to MCA leadership which regards senior citizens as useless deadwood

I want to announce at the DAP kopitiam dialogue in Plentong this morning that the DAP will form a series of “senior citizens” branches throughout the country to tap the resources, talents and experience of the senior citizens, regardless of race or religion, to contribute to the nation-wide campaign to “Save Malaysia from kleptocracy” in contrast to the MCA leadership which regards senior citizens as useless deadwood.

I confess I was shocked last week when I saw the letter from the MCA Secretary General Ong Ka Chuan sacking a former Plentong village chief for nine years, Wong Kong Fook as a MCA member for being photographed with me during my visit to Plentong.

This is utterly mad, devoid of moral principles and standards, and something no sane or rational party or leader would do.

I welcome Wong Kong Fook who has “abandoned darkness, joined light” and has applied and been approved as a DAP member.

The three MCA Ministers and leaders, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (MCA President), Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong (MCA Deputy President) and Datuk Ong Ka Chuan (MCA Secretary-General) should publicly apologise for the crazy, irrational and morally unjustifiable expulsion of Wong Kong Fook, the former Johore village chief for nine years as a MCA member for being photographed with me.

In fact, all the senior citizen members in MCA throughout Johor and Malaysia should protest and demand unqualified apology from the MCA top leaders for the most unfair and shameful treatment of Wong Kong Fook. Read the rest of this entry »

Call on the three MCA Ministers and leaders, Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong and Ong Ka Chuan to publicly apologise for expelling a former Johore village chief for nine years as a MCA member for being photographed with me

The Greek saying: “Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad” came into me when I saw the a letter from the MCA Secretary General Ong Ka Chuan sacking a former Johore village chief for nine years as a MCA member for being photographed with me during my visits around the Johore state.

This is utterly mad, devoid of moral principles and standards, and something no sane or rational party or leader would do.

I call on the three MCA Ministers and leaders, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (MCA President), Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong (MCA Deputy President) and Datuk Ong Ka Chuan (MCA Secretary-General) to publicly apologise for the crazy, irrational and morally unjustifiable expulsion of the former Johore village chief for nine years as a MCA member for being photographed with me.

Both Tiong Lai and Ka Siong had been photographed with me at some function or other. Are Tiong Lai and Ka Siong going to be expelled from MCA as happened to this former Johore village chief for nine years, and who had a longer MCA membership history than Tiong Lai, or are there obviously double-standards in the MCA, one for the MCA leaders and Ministers and another for the MCA rank-and file? Liow Tiong Lai should publicly apologise for being caught red-handed a second time for telling a lie – this time about security/terrorist threat resulting in the City Hall ban on Better Beer Festival next month

I am calling this press conference to express my surprise that before I spoke at the DAP kopitiam dialogue here in Pekan Nenas, which I have just concluded, there was a report in the Malay Mail Online entitled “’No idea’ about security threat to beer festival, police says” quoting the Bukit Aman counter terrorism division chief, Datuk Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay, denying that there was any security or terrorist threat resulting in the Kuala Lumpur City Hall banning the Better Beer Festival next month.

The report read:

“KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 — The police today said that it has ‘no idea’ regarding an alleged security threat towards the scrapped Better Beer Festival, despite claims by MCA.

“MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai was reported by national news agency Bernama saying last night that the beer festival was cancelled due to security reasons as advised by the police.

“But Bukit Aman counter terrorism division senior principal assistant director Datuk Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay did not confirm such a threat existed.

“’No idea. You need ask [MCA leaders],’ Ayub told Malay Mail Online in a text message.”

But when I completed my speech just now, I found that the Malay Mail Online story is no more available, as it had been taken off.

MCA reduced to a party without political principles as well as a thoroughly indisciplined one whose President is not respected even by the other MCA leaders whether at national, state or local levels

MCA has been reduced to a political party without principles as well as a thoroughly indisciplined one by the proposed “Better Beer Festival” event in Kuala Lumpur next month.

The MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai seems to take his double role in the Merdeka video “Citizens” seriously, first opposing the Kuala Lumpur ban on the proposed “Better Beer Festival” but quickly caving in and even endorsing the ban after the Cabinet meeting this morning on the ridiculous grounds of “security”!

But the MCA is a thoroughly indisciplined political party, whose President is not respected even by the other MCA leaders whether at national, state or local levels, who continue to say the very opposite of the stand of Liow Tiong Lai, even blaming the DAP for “strengthening” PAS to successfully oppose the Better Beer Festival!

Have security and safety in Malaysia become so tenuous and perilous that the Better Beer Festival, which had been held for the past several years, have to be banned because of “security” reasons?

Is this the way to promote tourism and turn Malaysia into a tourists’ haven when even the Federal Government and the Police cannot guarantee the safety and security of a very localised event, like the Better Beer Festival, in the Federal capital?

Isn’t such a ban encouraging the extremists and fanatics to up their demands, even sending a signal to “Islamic State” supporters that Malaysia is a fertile ground for them to cultivate to spread their brand of bigotry, extremism and intolerance in Malaysia? Read the rest of this entry »

Five political disasters in one week – isn’t it enough?

What an anti-climax and a political disaster!

The much hyped-up media conference announcement this evening by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak which attracted not only national but world-wide attention proved to be an utterly inconsequential one of the former Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib rejoining UMNO, after leaving UMNO in 2013 to join PAS, and then leaving PAS in 2015 to join PKR.

May be, Najib should be congratulated for getting a better candidate to be Selangor Mentri Besar than the one Selangor UMNO/BN has at present, but whether “Mike Tyson” will inspire Selangor voters to give the Selangor Government mandate back to UMNO/Selangor is another question.

What is most deplorable is the “game” which UMNO propagandists and cybertroopers played on the media, to make then their “agents” to spread their ploy, naming various ex-UMNO personalities who would be returning to the fold, like Shafie Apdal, Tamrin Ghaffar, Khalid Ibrahim, etc. We are indeed seeing “swamp” politics of the most immoral and despicable variety now in Malaysia.

This is Najib’s fifth political disaster in a week. Isn’t it enough?

Which is Which – MCA’s Star Online’s two reports yesterday: “PM’s aide: DAP is ‘Top Dog’ in Pakatan” and “MCA: Dr M controlling Pakatan Harapan”

MCA’s Star Online carried two reports yesterday: “PM’s aide: DAP is ‘Top Dog’ in Pakatan” and “MCA: Dr M controlling Pakatan Harapan”.

Which is which?

The timeline for the first report was 11.56 pm yesterday while the time-line for the second report was 7.04 pm.

In the “PM’s aide: DAP is ‘Top Dog’ in Pakatan”, the press secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Sariffuddin Tengku Ahmad was quoted as saying that I am the “de facto leader cleverly pulling the strings and dictating Pakatan Harapan’s narrative and appearance” while in the report “MCA: Dr M controlling Pakatan Harapan”, the MCA publicity spokesman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker was quoted as saying that former premier Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is controlling Pakatan Haran despite Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia being the “newest” kid on the block and “calling the shots in the Opposition pact”.

With MCA and Gerakan joining more UMNO leaders “whistling in the dark” to hide their increasing panic, 14th General Election more likely this year than next

Since the seismic development on July 14, when Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council announced the Pakatan Harapan structure, logo and leadership line up, signifiying the final Mahathir-Anwar reconciliation after nearly two decades of political enmity, the past 16 days have seen increasing panic among UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders about the very real prospects of losing Putrajaya and the Federal Government in the forthcoming 14th General Election.

As a result, even MCA and Gerakan leaders are joining more UMNO leaders in resorting to “whistling in the dark” to hide their increasing panic, shouting from their rooftops that they are not panicking!

MCA President, Datuk Liow Tiong Lai, for instance, is suddenly putting up a bold front proclaiming in Penang that MCA is confident that there will be a change of support among voters in Penang as the people have lost confidence in the DAP for failing to fulfil their promises after taking over the state nine years ago while declaring to the 45th annual general meeting of the Young Malaysians Movement in Kuala Lumpur that MCA believes that the Chinese community is shifting its support back to Barisan Nasional.

Gerakan President Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong announced the Gerakan’s three candidates to contest the Segambut, Batu and Kepong parliamentary seats and declared that Chinese votes for Barisan Nasional are expected to improve to 30% in the 14th General Election from the 13.4% received in the 2013 polls.

It is indeed a great national tragedy and shame that at a historic period when the nation is on threshold of a possible change of Federal government in six decades, MCA and Gerakan leaders have fallen to such a parlous level that they could only indulge in “whistling in the dark” hoping to win more electoral seats depending on UMNO, instead of being focused on the great issues confronting the people and country. Najib would have been found guilty in any consumer court for making false representations when he claimed that UMNO does not practise the politics of fear but spread the politics of hope

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said in Perak today that UMNO does not practise the politics of fear as it spreads the politics of hope.

If the Prime Minister can be dragged to the Consumers Courts, Najib would be found guilty of making false representations claiming that it is practising the politics of hope when it is most guilty of practising the politics of fear!

For instance, Najib said in Perak today that DAP dominates Pakatan Harapan, and what is even shocking, that former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and two former Deputy Prime Ministers, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin have become my stooges and puppets, answering my every “beck and call”.

Could this be true? Read the rest of this entry »

MCA can be reduced from a 7/11 party into a ¾ (tiga suku) party in the 14GE if it continues to allow UMNO President to play footsie with Hadi on the RUU355 bill

MCA can be reduced from a 7/11 party (winning only seven parliamentary and 11 state assembly seats) in the 13GE into a ¾ (tiga suku) political party winning only three parliamentary and four state assembly seats in the 14GE if it continues to allow the UMNO President to play footsie with PAS President, Datuk Seri Awang Hadi on the RUU355 Bill.

Malaysians have been watching the stance of the MCA Ministers and Members of Parliament on Hadi’s RUU355 Bill for the past year, and whatever the MCA protestations and public postures, the undeniable fact is that MCA is part of the Barisan Nasional government coalition that has allowed Hadi’s RUU355 Bill, which goes against the very basis of the Merdeka Constitution 1957 and Malaysia Agreement 1963, to get thus far in Parliament.

In fact, without the consent and approval of the Barisan Nasional government and coalition, Hadi’s RUU355 Bill would not appear as the 10th item in the Parliamentary Order Paper when Dewan Rakyat reconvened yesterday.

The question is whether MCA Ministers and MPs will continue to shut their eyes, ears and mouths when the Prime Minister and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak continues the playing a long-running “footsie” with Hadi, allowing RUU355 Bill to take priority over all government business and presented to the House but no debate, then amended but postponed to the present meeting without general debate or voting? Free advice to Najib and his propagandists – be consistent and credible or all their propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information will come to nought like MCA complaining about losing support of 85 per cent of Chinese voters in 13th General Election

I want to give the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his propagandists a piece of free advice, that they should be consistent and credible or their propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information will come to nought like MCA complaining about losing the support of 85 per cent of Chinese voters in the 13th General Election.

The highly-oiled-and-financed UMNO/BN propaganda machinery suffered a paroxysm of doubt, uncertainty, contradiction and loss of direction when the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council on 14th July announced the new Pakatan Harapan structure, logo and leadership line-up, achieving what Najib’s kitchen Cabinet had thought impossible – the Mahathir-Anwar reconciliation after almost two decades of bitter political enmity.

The path-breaking Pakatan Harapan announcement, which reignited hopes among Malaysians that it is possible to dream and slog for political change in Putrajaya in the forthcoming 14th General Election, was a major blow to the UMNO/BN propaganda offensive of lies, fake news and false information built around the fairy tale DAP leaders and I myself in particular are the puppet-masters in Pakatan Harapan, and somehow, strong characters and personalities like Mohamad Sabu, Rafizi Ramli, Azmin Ali, Nurul Izzah, Wan Azizah, Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin Yassin and Mahathir Mohamad have suddenly all become my stooges and puppets, at my beck and call!

This was why the Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak thought he had found a chink in the Pakatan Harapan armour and was the first to jump out to champion the DAP, demanding to know the reason for the absence of the DAP leaders among the top three Pakatan Harapan leaders, whether the DAP had been sidelined and marginalized.

Various variations of this theme for a propaganda counter-attack by the UMNO/BN leaders and propagandists were tried out in the ensuing days, but they were trapped by the contradiction between claiming DAP leaders were the puppet-masters in Pakatan Harapan and alleging that DAP leaders had been sidelined and marginalized in Pakatan Harapan.

After a week of propaganda contortions and gymnastics, UMNO leaders and propagandists decided that it was more prudent and safer to return to the original propaganda theme that the DAP leaders had always been the dominant leaders in Pakatan Harapan.

This was why the Wanita UMNO Chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil came to Gelang Patah with the pronouncement that Tun Dr. Mahathir’s appointment as chairman of Pakatan Harapan was a mere “drama” staged by DAP “to obscure the Malay voters’ eyes from seeing truth”. Read the rest of this entry »

Are we in the last ten days or fortnight of the 44-year-old Barisan Nasional founded by Tun Razak in 1973 as a consensus-based political coalition if UMNO imposes hegemony by unilaterally taking over Hadi’s private member’s bill on RUU 355, whether on April 6 to 10?

Are we in the last ten days or fortnight of the 44-year-old Barisan Nasional founded by Tun Razak in 1973 as a consensus-based political coalition if UMNO imposes hegemony by unilaterally taking over PAS President Datuk Seri Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill on RUU 355, whether on April 6 (the last day of the present Parliamentary meeting) or on April 10 (extension of present Parliament)?

Will Barisan Nasional totally change its character in the next 10 to 14 days from a political coalition where there must be the 3Cs, consultation, consensus and consent from and with everyone of the 13 Barisan Nasional component parties before a policy, measure or decision can become Barisan Nasional government policy, measure or decision into one where the Barisan Nasional is only a coalition in name but accepts UMNO hegemony, where what UMNO leaders want and desire become the law in Barisan Nasional? Pieces falling into place – there is a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign to break Pakatan Harapan by demonizing DAP and me, hoping at least to break my spirit and force my retirement from politics

Pieces are falling into place – there is a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign to break Pakatan Harapan by demonizing DAP and me, hoping at least to break my spirit and force my retirement from politics.

The two pieces which finally convince me of such a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign were the latest attack from the MCA Deputy President and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Wee Ka Siong replete with lies and falsehoods and the uncharacteristic salvo from UMNO MP for Balik Pulau and Deputy Health Minister accusing me of being untrustworthy and a person not to be believed.

Before this, there were blasts from the UMNO Information chief, Annuar Musa culminating in taking hate politics to new height in Malaysia, offering RM10,000, which was upped to RM50,000 within 24 hours, for the “best” essay or social media posting that I am anti-Malay and anti-Islam and the “missing person” banners and posters which were put up in the Gelang Patah parliamentary constituency.

I have never seen such an outpouring, close to an avalanche, of demonization of myself as in the last three months in the UMNO/Barisan owned or controlled mass media, like the New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, Star, or TV3, when for the past half a century of my political activities, I was blacked out in these media, with clear directive given in one mainstream media that my photograph was never to be used.

Now I appear almost daily, if not in New Straits Times, then in Utusan, Berita Harian, Star or TV3, even with pictures – but there were no news, facts or truth, but downright lies, falsehood and fake news to demonise me, describing me as a devil, an hantu, puaka or even jembalang, as if I breathe fire or eat babies for breakfast; that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam, that I was the cause of the May 13 racial riots in 1969 (exactly 48 years ago) although I was never in Kuala Lumpur during that period and was in fact in Kota Kinabalu on that tragic day of May 13, 1969; that I am a communist; a stooge of Singapore PAP.

An example of such fake news and false information, is the weekend claim by the BN Strategic Communication Director and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Abdul Rahman Dahlan that there are DAP grassroots members and even leaders who want a change of DAP party leadership and that I should retire from politics. Liow’s admission that the Cabinet did not discuss Hadi’s private member’s bill or RUU 355 yesterday is a shocking confession of spineless misconduct and abdication of responsibility of the five MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers

The admission by the MCA President and the Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai that the Cabinet yesterday did not discuss the Federal Government-led Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act amendments is a most shocking confession of spineless misconduct and abdication of responsibility of the five MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers in Cabinet.

Are we going to repeat the rigmarole of previous Parliaments where UMNO Ministers gave priority to PAS President Datuk Seri Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill and greeted by dutiful dismay by MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers and MPs who feigned shock claiming that they did not know of such a move beforehand?

Is an UMNO Minister going to propose government takeover of Hadi’s private member’s bill in the current meeting of Parliament, and MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers going to jointly put up a farce that they had never agreed to such a parliamentary move in Cabinet and therefore need not assume any responsibility?

How can Liow claim that “there’s no new development on the RUU 355 Bill” when the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi announced last week that the government will take over Hadi’s private member’s bill at the current meeting of Parliament?

Liow and the other four MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers are really presenting real-life spectacle of the traditional monkeys with eyes that see not, ears that hear not and mouths that speak not! Read the rest of this entry »
