Many public interest issues have been raised by the disclosure of the nine audio tapes released by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission but among the biggest is that after a week, none of the protagonists, whether former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, his wife Datuk Seri Rosmah Mansor, former MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad or Baling MP Datuk Seri Azeez Abdul Rahim had denied their veracity or claimed that they were doctored or fake tapes.
In fact, Najib had indirectly confirmed the authenticity of the tapes when he claimed that the infamous “Can I advise you something” audio tape wasn’t “Rosmah scolding me, it was a normal chat” between husband and wife or his ridiculous claim that the tapes on his conversation with the United Arab Emirates crown prince Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan on July 22, 2016 to intervene for his stepson Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz proved that he had not been lying about the 1MDB scandal.
The resolution of these many public interest issues raised by the disclosure of the nine audio tapes, including the shocking disclosure of a prime minister involved in the high crime of treason participating in an obstruction of justice, is one of the greatest challenges facing Malaysia in the new year.

The Tanjong Piai parliamentary by-election is in fact the most despicable and unprincipled by-election campaign waged by the Muafakat Nasional, comprising firstly PAS and UMNO and now, MCA.
In the Malay areas, Malays were told that the Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was my puppet, that the Malays and Muslims have lost their rights and position in Malaysia. But in Chinese areas, the Chinese were told that I was nothing but Mahathir’s stooge and that the Chinese had lost their rights and position in Malaysia.
In this era of social media, when lies, fake news and hate speech can be spread in a matter of seconds, both the Malay and Chinese voters would have voted against Pakatan Harapan if they do not have the time and opportunity to verify the truth or otherwise of these lies, fake news and hate speech, which include the monstrous lie that I was not born in Batu Pahat in 1941 but came to Malaysia from China in 1957 when I was 16 years old.
The Muafakat Nasional of PAS, UMNO and MCA, is not competing with Pakatan Harapan as to which coalition have the best policies to make Malaysia a successful top world-class nation of unity, justice, freedom, excellence and integrity, as all that PAS, UMNO and MCA want is to wreck and destroy the Pakatan Harapan Government, although they have nothing constructive to propose, in particular about the future of Malaysia.

Today, November 11, 2019 is an important date in the journey to fulfill four of the five pillar-promises of Pakatan Harapan pledge of a New Malaysia and public support must continue until the goal of a New Malaysia is achieved.
Today, the judiciary made two important decisions, viz: firstly, the Federal Court denied the application of leave to challenge the constitutionality of the existence of Chinese and Tamil primary schools; and secondly, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered former Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak to defend himself against all seven charges in relation to SRC International Sdn Bhd., placing the onus on the defence team to prove reasonable doubt in the cases established against Najib failing which the former premier would be convicted.
The four pillar-promises in the 14th General Election Pakatan Harapan Manifesto which these two judicial developments helped to advance are:
· Reduce the people’s burden;
· Institutional and political reforms, which includes transforming Malaysia from a global kleptocracy into a leading nation of integrity in the world, and the restoration of the important principles of the rule of law and an independent judiciary;
· Spur sustainable and equitable economic growth; and
· Create a Malaysia that is inclusive, moderate and respected globally.
The High Court decision today on Najib’s first of several corruption trials is an affirmation that Malaysia’s trajectory to transform itself from a global kleptocracy to a leading nation of integrity in the world is on course, although Malaysia is still a long way to achieve its goal. Pakatan Harapan would have lost the Tanjong Piai parliamentary by-election if polling had been held last week.

Tanjong Piai had a special guest today, BOSSku, who came without his outriders not to campaign for the people of Tanjong Piai but for his own agenda – to claim innocence in the 1MDB scandal and the hope to be Prime Minister again
Monday on November 11 will be an important date for BOSSku and Malaysia, for the Kuala Lumpur High Court will be deciding whether he walks free or will be ordered to enter his defence for seven charges of abuse of power, corruption and money-laundering involving RM42 million of funds from SRC International.
Already, many Malaysians are very upset why the former Prime Minister is still not in jail and is free to roam all over the country, but the Pakatan Harapan in our pledges in the last general election to rebuild the nation and fulfil the hopes of Malaysians committed ourselves to five pillar-promises, one of which is to carry out “institutional and political reforms”.
This means the restoration of the important principles of the rule of law and an independent judiciary.

Next week will be an important week for Malaysia in determining whether Malaysia is to make a complete break from the past of global kleptocracy and to become a top world-class nation of integrity.
On November 11, the Kuala Lumpur High Court will decide whether the former Prime Minister, Datuk Najib Razak walks free or will be ordered to enter his defence on seven charges of abuse of power, corruption and money-laundering involving RM42 million of funds from SRC International.
On November 16, the voters of Tanjong Piai will cast their votes in the parliamentary by-election to demonstrate whether Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, will continue to support the Pakatan Harapan government’s New Malaysia objective to become a top world-class nation of integrity although this mission will take more than one general election cycle of at least one decade or more to accomplish.
Recently, the global anti-corruption movement, Transparency International (TI), which releases the prestigious annual Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) ranking and score for the nations in the world since 1995, celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Pakatan Harapan has a very uphill battle in the Tanjong Piai parliamentary by-election on November 16, 2019.
The MCA is confident that its candidate, Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng can win the by-election with a majority of over 5,000 votes.
I call on the Tanjong Piai voters to send out a strong message of long-term support of the Pakatan Harapan objective to build a New Malaysia of unity, excellence and integrity because despite the historic vote of 509 in the 14th General Election 18 months ago for a change of government, it is not easy to undo decades of corruption, injustices, abuses of power and wrongs in a matter of months or years.
Although the MCA is fielding a candidate in Tanjong Piai by-election, the real battle in Tanjong Piai is between the Muafakat Nasional of UMNO and PAS on the one hand and the Pakatan Harapan on the other and the MCA candidate is only an agent of Muafakat Nasional of UMNO and PAS.

It was a marvel yesterday to see the Members of Parliament of Muafakat Nasional and Barisan Nasional, in the presence of BOSSku, the former Prime Minister, responding as a united bloc during the end of the second reading debate of the 2020 Budget in Parliament to claim that the 1MDB scandal had not been proven and therefore could not be taken as having happened.
The Tanjong Piai voters have a national duty on the by-election voting day on 16th November to prove both the Muafakat Nasional and Barisan Nasional wrong as the 1MDB scandal is not fake news but the most shameful chapter in Malaysian history which not only brought infamy, ignominy and iniquity to the nation as a global kleptocracy but denied funds which could have been spent for the benefit of the people.
It is most shocking that Muafakat Nasional and Barisan Nasional leaders could still claim that the 1MDB scandal is still unproven, although the country had to tighten its financial belt so as to pay some RM9 billion towards the 1MDB debt over the last two years, while the 1MDB debt now stands at some RM50 billion.
If Malaysia does not have to pay billions of ringgit to pay off the 1MDB debt in the past two years, as well as billions of ringgit towards 1MDB debt interest payments in the coming years, these billions of ringgit could be released to build more roads, schools and hospitals to improve the quality of life of all Malaysians.
The united stance of the Muafakat Nasional and Barisan Nasional MPs yesterday continuing to deny that the 1MDB scandal is unproven is all the more shocking as it flies in the face of the truth, both nationally and internationally. Read the rest of this entry »
Another Malaysian first in the world but which Malaysians have nothing to be proud about

Malaysia has achieved another first in the world but it is something which Malaysians have nothing to be proud about.
Two days ago, Malaysian ‘billionaire’ and fugitive financier from justice, Jho Low reached a settlement deal with the United States Department of Justice and agreed to surrender US$1billion in funds he and his family had misappropriated from Malaysian investment fund 1MDB.
As Jho Low himself said his personal blog page:
“I am very pleased to confirm that a landmark comprehensive, global settlement has been reached with the United States government, which fully and forever resolves in their entirety each of the U.S. government’s civil, criminal, and administrative actions or proceedings relating to the defendant assets at issue in the Central District of California.
“The historic agreement builds on a series of successful prior agreements negotiated with the U.S. Department of Justice and is the result of good faith discussions between the parties.
“Importantly, the agreement does not constitute an admission of guilt, liability or any form of wrongdoing by me or the asset owners. We believe all parties consider this resolution, which is subject to final court approval, to be a successful and satisfactory result.”
Jho Low is not only the first Malaysian, but the only person, in the world who could surrender US$1 billion in funds, although his action “does not constitute an admission of guilt, liability or any form of wrongdoing by me or the asset owners”.

Desperation has caused the UMNO-PAS conspirators to change tactics – abandon the “no confidence motion” strategy and to try to cause the downfall of Pakatan Harapan government by targeting DAP and AMANAH.
This is why unlike the previous parliamentary meetings, there was no speculation before the present Budget parliamentary meeting to float the possibility that there would be a “no confidence motion” to remove Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister.
The “no confidence motion” line was earlier decided as the strategy to destabilise and topple the Pakatan Harapan government after the historic decision of a democratic and peaceful transition of power on 9th May 2018 where contrary to pre-election UMNO propaganda and warning, I was not only not the Prime Minister, I did not play any official government role and was not even in the Cabinet.
The earlier strategy to plot for a new combination and permutation of parliamentary numbers to secure sufficient parliamentary support to carry out a “no confidence motion” against Mahathir as the Prime Minister, or at least the fevered speculation that this was afoot, did not materialise and was quite an abject failure. Today is the day I feel most ashamed as a Malaysian – to find a Malaysian listed internationally among the world’s top kleptocrats who may even be the world’s No. 1 Kleptocrat!
After viewing again the documentary “The Kleptocrats” which tells “the wild story of the world’s biggest white-collar heist” which followed reporters and law enforcement agents as they track “an audacious scam – one that involves embezzlement, corruption, film stars, politicians and crooks”, I browsed the Internet on sites on kleptocracy and corruption.
As Nazir Razak recounted in the documentary ”The Kleptocrats” that he fell off the chair one morning in July 2015 when he was holidaying and having breakfast in a Los Angeles hotel and picked up a copy of Wall Street Journal which exposed the RM2.6 billion deposit in Najib Razak’s personal banking accounts, I almost fell off the chair when I read the Wikipedia page on “kleptocracy”, where Najib was listed among the world’s 11 top kleptocrats, and may even be the world’s No. 1 Kleptocrat when all the facts and truth about the 1MDB scandal and all the other scandals in his regime are revealed.
According to Wikipedia, which is used by netizens worldwide, Najb is in the company of the 10 leading kleptocrats of the last three decades compiled by Transparency International in 2004, viz: former Indonesian President Suharto, former Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos, Former Zairian President Mobutu Sese Seko, Former Nigerian head of state Sani Abacha, former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, Former Haitian President, Jean-Claude Duvalier, former Ukranian Prime Minister Paylo Lazarenko, former Nicaraguan President Arnold Aleman and former Philippines President Joseph Estrada. It has been another week of shame for Malaysia – as in the past week, Malaysia has been advertised internationally as the country which is home to “the biggest fraud of the century” because of the 1MDB scandal with the emphasis on “true crime” and “current affairs” to promote the documentary “The Kleptocrats”.
Such an advertisement on the “THE MULTI-BILLION $CANDAL THAT SHOOK HOLLYWOOD AND THE WORLD” appears in the international media, whether South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, Straits Times in Singapore or Sydney Morning Herald Australia, and many others.
In Malaysia, the criminal trial of the former Prime Minister, Najib Razak, over 25 charges of abuse of power and money laundering of RM2.28 billion from 1MDB funds, facing up to 20 years in jail if convicted, entered into its 16th day in the High Court of Kuala Lumpur yesterday while another High Court judge has fixed Nov 11 to announce the verdict whether Najib’s defence on seven charges of abuse of power, corruption and money-laundering involving RM42 million of funds from SRC International after 58 days of prosecution case and 57 witnesses needs to be called.
It is not exactly a time when Malaysians came hold their heads high in the world, although there is a silver lining in the dark clouds – as Malaysia is probably the only country in the world which had toppled a kleptocratic regime by peaceful and democratic means on May 9, 2018 and put the former Prime Minister and some of his kleptocratic cronies on trial. Two films every Malaysian should see are “M for Malaysia” and “The Kleptocrats -Billion Dollar Whale” to learn or to be reminded of the existential threat Malaysia faced during the 14th General Election.
If there had been no historic and miraculous change of government on May 9, 2018, Malaysia would have continued in the trajectory pursued for close to a decade to become a failed, rogue and kleptocratic state, and no power on earth could have saved future generations of Malaysians, regardless of race or religion, from the status of serfs in having to repay the tens and hundreds of billions of debt conceived and implemented by “maestros” of unimaginable scams and money-laundering schemes to exploit the loopholes of the international banking and financial system.
If there had been no change of government, the re-elected Prime Minister would have made Malaysia the Venezuela of South-east Asia and the Sick Man of Asia.
Venezuela is in the thick of a terrible political, socio-economic and humanitarian crisis. Once one of the 20 richest countries in the world and the richest in Latin America with free education and free medical services for her citizens, it is now poor, backward, broken and bankrupt state, with over 10 per cent of Venezuelans (3.4 million) having left the country in despair.
The humanitarian crisis in Venezuela has affected the life of the average Venezuelan on all levels. By 2017, hunger had escalated to the point where almost seventy-five percent of the population had lost an average of over 8 kg (over 19 lbs) in weight, and more than half did not have enough income to meet their basic food needs. All Malaysians should heed the call by Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah on his installation as Yang di Pertuan Agong to refrain from inciting misunderstanding by raising matters that can undermine and destroy harmony in the country.
Klepto-theocracy which misuses Islam to support thievery, corruption, intolerance, bigotry, lies and falsehoods is one example of a campaign which is against the call by the Yang di Pertuan Agong to Malaysians to ensure that unity and harmony are the pillars and strength of the nation.
Sultan Abdullah rightly warned that “Playing with fire will burn not only oneself but also the whole village”.
Opposition parties should compete with Pakatan Harapan parties as to who have the best answer to the challenge of building Malaysia into a top world-class nation where there is unity, freedom, justice, excellence and integrity and respected by the international community, instead of inciting suspicion, distrust and hatred among Malaysians, pitting race against race, religion against religion and virtually regarded as an outcast by the world community.
It is most regrettable that even up to now, there are important personalities and opposition parties who still do not feel contrite or remorseful that in the past few years, Malaysia had been the object of international ridicule and contempt for becoming a global kleptocracy, to the extent that the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) had filed the largest kleptocratic litigation to forfeit US$1.7 billion out of US$4.5 billion of 1MDB-linked assets, a scandal which the United States Attorney-General Jeff Sessions had condemned in an international forum as “kleptocracy at its worst”! When I read the report of the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad saying in Ankara on the need for Muslim countries like Malaysia, Turkey and Pakistan to pool their resources to make Islamic civilisation great again, the question that immediately struck me was:
Is it possible to make Islamic civilisation great again based on klepto-theocracy which misuses Islam to peddle lies, falsehoods, distrust, suspicion, hatred and which supports thievery and corruption?
This thought was prompted by another report which I had read – the reply of the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi to PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim which again confirmed Mahathir’s earlier remark about UMNO leaders becoming “dumb and dumber” over the years.
Zahid had earlier insinuated that Mahathir was my stooge and was only doing my bidding. In his reply to Anwar, he insinuated that Anwar has become my stooge. This would mean I have two stooges – Mahathir and Anwar.
How “dumb and dumber” can an UMNO leader get?

I must thank the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi for the latest proof of the meaning of “klepto-theocracy” – the political alliance based on misuse of Islam to support thievery, corruption, intolerance, bigotry, lies and falsehoods.
After the UMNO Supreme Council meeting yesterday, Zahid said that UMNO will not “open the door” of negotiation and co-operation with any party that has a relationship with DAP.
He said: “There will be no negotiation any party in the Pakatan Harapan coalition as long as they share the power with DAP.”
The question Zahid should ask is who will co-operate with a party which is headed by a President who is making history in having a total of 87 criminal charges related to corruption?
Or the further question, who will co-operate with a political coalition whose advisor was the person who had brought infamy, ignominy and iniquity to Malaysia because of the international 1MDB scandal, condemned in an international conference by the US Attorney-General as “kleptocracy at its worst” and who is on trial for 42 criminal charges relating to corruption, abuse of power and money-laundering? I have been asked what is the meaning of this term “klepto-theocracy” which I been using for the past week.
In a nutshell, klepto-theocracy is a political doctrine in Malaysia which misuses Islam to support thievery, corruption, intolerance, bigotry, lies and falsehoods.
A most recent example of this new political hypocrisy is about the declaration of assets, with the PAS, UMNO, MCA and MIC MPs in both Houses of Parliament opposing the motion requiring MPs to publicly declare their assets.
The PAS President said declaring assets is a communist, socialist concept that may have been dreamt up by DAP while the PAS Deputy President said it was unIslamic to declare assets, until it was pointed out that the latter had in 2015 dared the then Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to declare his assets!

I have instructed my lawyers, Ramkarpal Singh of Karpal Singh & Co. to accept service of the RM10 million plus defamation suit by the former Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.
When I read of Apandi’s suit in media yesterday, I have not received Apandi’s statement of claim.
Apandi is asking for RM10 million damages, as well as other damages, for one line in my statement of May 6 during the Sandakan by-election this year where I had asked him to explain why he “aided and abetted” in the 1MDB scandal.
I will contest Apandi’s suit, but it is a matter of relief that Malaysians now will have the opportunity to get answers why Apandi had been totally inactive as Malaysian Attorney-General after the US Department of Justice’s (DoJ) filed its largest kleptocratic forfeiture suit (US$1.7 billion out of US$4.5 billion 1MDB-linked assets) over the 1MDB scandal.

Tickled by Annuar Musa’s teaser – why not Najib? Kit Siang lost elections but remains DAP adviser

I am quite tickled by the teaser from the UMNO Secretary-General Annuar Musa – Why not Najib? Kit Siang lost elections but remains DAP adviser!
It has only confirmed that Annuar Musa is not a very bright chap.
In defending Najib Abdul Razak’s appointment as chairperson of the BN advisory board, Annuar said the embattled former premier is very much an asset to the coalition.
He said although BN lost the 14th general election under Najib, it does not mean he does not have useful experience to share.
He said: “We have to remember that Lim Kit Siang has been DAP adviser for many years. How many times has DAP lost in the past 13 general elections? Lim stayed on as their adviser.
“So this is a non-issue. Just because someone has lost once, this doesn’t mean the person is disqualified from becoming an adviser.”
Clearly, it is asking too much to expect Annual Musa to have the IQ to understand that I had never led DAP to any electoral loss because I was a global kleptocrat, as was Najib’s case. Read the rest of this entry »
