What an irony! Will Utusan Malaysia agree that it should be charged in court under the Sedition Act for inciting hatred by peddling the lie DAP wants to abolish the system of constitutional monarchy and turn Malaysia into a republic?
Today, the UMNO mouthpiece Utusan Malaysia carried the front-page headline “Akta Hasutan perlu dikekalkan – MASIH RELEVAN” quoting two former Inspector-Generals of Police, Tun Hanif Omar and Tan Sri Musa Hassan who want the Sedition Act to be continued, not to curb freedom of speech but to avoid tensions and feelings of ill will between races and religions.
Three days ago, in the Mingguan Malaysia weekend column, Awang Selamat, which is the name for Utusan Malaysia’s editorial voice, violated the Sedition Act and incited racial and religious sentiments with the dastardly lie that the DAP wants to do away with the system of constitutional monarchy by turning Malaysia into a republic!
This is a downright, malicious and seditious lie. Read the rest of this entry »
Netizens advised to check veracity of messages and video clips before they circulate them on the social media – as the video clip of a “fanatic” making the rounds of social media was definitely not that of Maszlee Malik
Since yesterday, a video clip of a “fanatic” had been circulated on the social media with the suggestion that receipients should forward it to as many as possible so as “to reach Tun before he became the education minister”.
The “he” was meant to be Maszlee Malik, the Education Minister-designate except that the person in the video clip was not Maszlee at all.
The person in the video clip was definitely making extremist and fanatical attacks on the Chinese and Indians in Malaysia, and about the marginalistion of the Malays in Malaysia – a theme which was false, divisive and dangerous but so ubiquitous in the last general election campaign, which could only disunite and polarize Malaysia further, when we should all be doing our utmost to put the politics of race, hate and fear behind us to usher in a New Malaysia where all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or political affiliation, are united and can feel proud of be a Malaysian – both inside and outside the country.
We are in the information age, but we should be aware of its promises and perils. Read the rest of this entry »
Najib should set a good example of clean and honest politics instead of being the chief exponent of politics of fear, race and lies as Malays will continue to exercise political power in Malaysia whether UMNO is defeated in 14GE or not
The Prime Minister and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s fall-back to the politics of race, fear and lies in Lipis yesterday is an indication of his growing desperation that UMNO will be ousted from Putrajaya by a Malay tsunami in the 14GE with the election of a new Pakatan Harapan Federal Government with Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as the seventh Prime Minister and Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the Deputy Prime Minister – with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
In Lipis yesterday, Najib claimed that under the Pakatan Harapan, “absolute power rests in the hands of DAP”, portraying the 14th General Election as a fight between UMNO-led Barisan Nasional and DAP-led Pakatan Harapan.
Najib knows in his heart of hearts that what he said that “absolute power rests in the hands of DAP” or that Pakatan Harapan is “DAP-led” are not true, and that Pakatan Harapan operates on the principle of genuine consensus of the four component parties unlike Barisan Nasional where, to borrow the language of Tan Sri Shahrir Samad, what UMNO wants UMNO gets and what UMNO wants UMNO takes. List of UMNO/BN slander will be as thick as Encyclopaedia Brittanica and challenge to a Najib-Kit Siang public encounter where each could cite 5 – 10 lies, fake news and false information over the past five years the other must be held personally responsible
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Najib Razak on Wednesday, 25 April 2018
The Prime Minister and UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib said that today that if he were to list down the slander from the opposition since the last general election, it would be as thick as the Kamus Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.
In a blog posting this morning, the BN chairperson noted how he and his family often fall victim to the opposition’s slander.
I have the greatest sympathy for Najib when he and his family fell victim to slander, but how could he be certain that Opposition leaders were responsible for them?
I myself have fallen victim to slander but can I hold him personally responsible?
My response to Najib blog is that if I am to list down the slander from UMNO/Barisan Nasional quarters since the last general election, it would be as thick as Encyclopaedia Brittanica, putting the Kamus Dewan to shame. Read the rest of this entry »
Regret at Najib’s “makhluk” language and call for decent, honest and civil campaigning for the 14th General Elections
It is most regrettable that even before the official start of the 14th General Elections Campaign on Nomination Day on April 28, the Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional Chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has already resorted to gutter politics using the “makhluk” language when referring to opponents.
At the PRIMA groundbreaking ceremony in Teluk Intan on Wednesday, Najib warned that a makhluk (creature) who had “a penchant for creating fake news” was contesting in Teluk Intan against the Minister President of Gerakan Mah Siew Keong, clearly referring to Perak DAP chief Ng Kor Ming, who will be carrying the DAP/Pakatan Harapan standard in Teluk Intan in the 14GE. Will Najib, as Chairman of Barisan Nasional, assume full responsibility for the fake news on the 1MDB scandal by BN and 1MDB in the past few days and turn himself in to the police for having committed offences under the Anti-Fake News Act?
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Financial Scandals on Monday, 16 April 2018
As Chairman of Barisan Nasional, will Datuk Najib Razak assume full responsibility for the fake news on the 1MDB scandal by Barisan Nasional and 1MDB in the past few days and turn himself in to the police for having committed offences under the Anti-Fake News Act, with the draconian penalties on conviction of a maximum of RM500,000 fine, six years jail or both.
For instance, the Barisan Nasional strategic communications team, which is headed by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datu Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, said that that Najib had returned most, if not all, of the RM2.6 billion donation he received in 2013.
This a double lie, for Najib had not returned most, and definitely not all, of the RM2.6 billion Donation to Saudi royalty he received in 2013.
The BN strategic communications team made this claim in response to the FaceBook posting by former Cabinet Minister, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, asking the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to clarify if it had known about caretaker prime minister Najib Razak’s infamous RM2.6 billion donation, and how the department had dealt with it at the time.
In an open letter to IRB on her Facebook, Rafidah said she had once been asked about the alleged donation from the Arabs, and if the prime minister had ever been taxed on the amount that had been deposited into his private bank accounts.
She said: “I have no idea… My friends and I became very curious. We would like to ask, and can IRB please clarify and explain to the people at large, is the donation given to the prime minister, and transferred into his personal account, taxable?” Read the rest of this entry »
Will the “turtle egg” UMNO Minister and Utusan Malaysia be arrested and charged under the Anti-Fake News Act for peddling the lies that Malay special rights and uniqueness of Islam would be eliminated in Malaysia if DAP and Pakatan Harapan win the 14GE?
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Pakatan Harapan on Friday, 13 April 2018
The world’s first Anti-Fake News Act has come into force in Malaysia on Wednesday, after receiving the Royal Assent on April 9 and gazetted two days later.
Although the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman denied that enforcement of the Anti-Fake News was a strategy for the government to win the 14th General Election (GE14), arguing that it is a law to protect the people in general, the test of the pudding is in the eating.
In today’s UMNO daily, Utusan Malaysia, the “turtle egg” UMNO Minister disseminated the fake news that every vote for the DAP is akin to give power to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) pact to eliminate Malay special rights and the uniqueness of Islam.
These are lies and fake news because all Pakatan Harapan basic documents, including Pakatan Harapan 14th General Election Manifesto, had been most clear and specific in giving unconditional support to Article 153 on Malay special rights and Article 3 on Islam as the official religion of the Federation. Will those who spread the lies and fake news that DAP is stooge of Mahathir or Mahathir is stooge of DAP be investigated, arrested and prosecuted under the Anti-Fake News Act?
It is the height of utter contempt for press freedom that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak used the launch of the inaugural National Journalists Day in Kuala Lumpur yesterdy to announce that the Anti-Fake News Act had come into effect.
It is rubbing the noses of Malaysian journalists, particularly those who have opposed the Anti-Fake News Bill, revelling in their discomfiture and failure to defeat the Anti-Fake News Bill.
Press freedom groups in Malaysia, as well as global watchdogs, had decried the bill as Putrajaya’s move to crack down on freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
Among others, concerns were raised over a mandatory ‘take down’ order which could be enforced against any alleged perpetrator of fake news.
Yes, Najib has won, but at what further price of Malaysia’s international repute and esteem – as Malaysia will now be scorned and looked askance in the international community not only as a global kleptocracy but also as a rogue democracy. Read the rest of this entry »

Today is last sitting of the 13th Parliament which was elected on 5th May 2013, as Parliament is expected to be dissolved tomorrow to pave the way for the 14th General Election although there is speculation that the dissolution of Parliament will only take place next Wednesday.
Since last Wednesday, I have attended Parliament daily, but for the last six parliamentary sittings, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker could not see me, and I could not participate in the parliamentary debates nor my votes counted in parliamentary voting.
After being elected to Parliament for 10 terms spanning 45 years from 1969 to 2018 except for the 10th Parliament, I have become a parliamentary “ghost” since last Wednesday, when I was suspended for six months for the second time during the present Parliament for asking the very legitimate question as to where the Speaker, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, derived powers to impose an embargo on the Election Commission’s Constituency Redelineation Report after it was tabled in the House on 22nd March 2018 – denying MPs the right to consult constituents and the Malaysian people on the Election Commission’s Report and to get public feedbacks before parliamentary debate on the Report. Is Arul Kanda’s definition of being professional one of going all over the country and even overseas to tell fake news about the 1MDB scandal?
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Financial Scandals on Wednesday, 4 April 2018
The 1MDB Chief Executive officer, Arul Kanda Kandasamy’s retort last month that he was a professional and not a politician in response to my challenge to him to stand in the forthcoming general election on the 1MDB ticket instead of organizing roadshows throughout the country on the 1MDB without the 1MDB scandal being answerable to Parliament.
Is Arul Kanda suggesting that the auditors in the Big Three in the auditing world, namely Ernst & Young, KPM and Deloitte, who had quit or ceased to 1MDB from 2009 to 2016, are all not professional enough by him?
Is Arul Kanda’s definition of being professional one of going all over the country and even overseas to tell fake news about the 1MDB scandal as he did in his recent interview with Indonesian magazine, Tempo? Read the rest of this entry »
Has Arul Kanda Kandasamy being paid superlative remuneration as 1MDB Chief Executive Officer to weave fantastic stories and fake news about the 1MDB scandal?

I read the 1MDB’s Chief Executive Officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy’s interview with Indonesia’s news magazine Tempo on the ties between 1MDB and the tycoon-fugive from justice, Jho Low, with amazement.
Arul now claims that Low was actually PetroSaudi Interntional (PSI)’s broker to negotiate a joint venture deal between PSI and 1MDB in September 2009, which I am hearing for the first time.
If so, why why didn’t the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak or anyone in 1MDB or the Malaysian Government make such a claim in the past eight years, and why has such a claim only surfaced now – in April 2018, after the billion-ringgit Equanimity luxury superyacht was impounded by the Indonesian authorites in Bali on the request of FBI in late February?
Has Arul Kanda Kandasamy being paid superlative remuneration as 1MDB Chief Executive Officer to weave fantastic stories and fake news about the 1MDB scandal?
The United States Department of Justice, it its largest kleptocratic litigation to forfeit 1MDB-linked assets in the United States, United Kingdom and Switzerland, alleged that a total of US$4.5 billion was misappropriated from 1MDB by high-level officials of the fund and their associates, including “Malaysian Official One (MO1)”. Today is the ninth anniversary of Datuk Seri Najib Razak as Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Parliament is expected to be dissolved in three days’ time on Friday, April 6, 2018.
All patriotic Malaysians are given an opportunity in the 14th General Election which should be held in a month’s time to ensure that Najib will not be able to mark his 10th anniversary as Prime Minster of Malaysia on this day next year.

Fully endorse Anwar Ibrahim that two of the earliest decisions of the new Pakatan Harapan Malaysian Government will be making the Election Commission a truly independent body and repealing the Anti-Fake News law if it is passed next week
Posted by Kit in Election, Elections, Fake News, Parliament on Sunday, 1 April 2018
I have the honour to announce that the DAP and Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Rasah parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election will be the DAP Negri Sembilan State Secretary Cha Kee Chin and the candidate for the Negri Sembilan State Assembly seat for Seremban Jaya (formerly Senawang) will the incumbent State Assemblyman P. Gunasekaran.
The 14th General Election is a matter of days away, and everybody is expecting Parliament to be dissolved next week, either before or after the last parliamentary sitting on Thursday on April 5.
I fully endorse the announcement by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, whom the Pakatan Harapan has designated as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia, that two of the earliest decisions of the new Pakatan Harapan Malaysian Government after winning the 14th General Election and forming the new Malaysian Government with Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister and Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Deputy Prime Minister will be making the Election Commission a truly independent body and repealing the Anti-Fake News law even if it is passed in Parliament next week.
The Constituency Redelineation Report of the Election Commission, which came into effect in less than 24 hours after it was bulldozed through Parliament on Wednesday (when I became a parliamentary “ghost” after being suspended for six months from Parliament for asking from where the Speaker, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, had the powers to embargo the Election Commission Report for public discussion and feedback after the Report was tabled in Parliament the previous week).
It was a monstrous work of constituency gerrymandering, going against the two fundamental principles of the Malaysian Constitution providing for an independent and non-partisan Election Commission and ensuring free and fair elections, which will give Malaysia a new international epithet apart from being a global kleptocracy – a democracy which has become a rogue state! Will Najib heed the patriotic voice of reason from his brother Nazir to defer the Anti-Fake News Bill?
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Parliament on Friday, 30 March 2018
Will the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, heed the patriotic voice of reason of his brother, Nazir Razak, for the Anti-Fake News Bill to be deferred?
All right-thinking Malaysians are one with Nazir in abhorring fake news, especially those based of lies and falsehoods maliciously aimed at inciting hatred or ill-will, but the Anti-Fake News Bill is not the answer to the problem of combating such fake news.
I have myself been a victim of fake news and false information for decades, demonizing me as anti-Malay, anti-Islam; cause of May 13 riots in Kuala Lumpur in 1969 when I was never in Kuala Lumpur during the relevant period; a communist; agent of foreign powers having been accused of being agent of CIA, M16, KGB and Australian Intelligence; that I have received RM1 billion from Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to allow the entry of PPBM into Pakatan Harapan, received RM100 million from Malaysian tycoon Robert Kuok, financed a news portal with RM40 million donation, received more than a billion ringgit from Israeli sources, and other monstrous and evil lies. The Anti-Fake News Bill is in fact a Save Najib from 1MDB Scandal Bill which will criminalise all news about 1MDB scandal in Malaysia available worldwide and punishable as “fake news”
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Financial Scandals, Parliament on Thursday, 29 March 2018
The 13th Parliament is treated with utter contempt in this last parliamentary meeting and the world is watching how a Parliament in a global kleptocracy is reduced into a farce and charade.
Yesterday, the constituency redelineation report of the Election Commission was rammed through Parliament, without giving MPs any time or opportunity whatsoever to get public feedback or seek public consultation on the Election Commission’s new constituency redelineation proposals, which made a mockery of the constitutional principles of one man, one vote, one value and an independent Election Commission which commands the confidence of Malaysians – just to maintain Malaysia as a global kleptocracy.
Today, Parliament is asked to pass the Anti-Fake News Bill which is nothing but a Save Najib from 1MDB Scandal Bill, which will criminalise all news about the 1MDB scandal in Malaysia which is available worldwide and punishable as fake news with excessive penalties of RM500,000 fine, 10 years jail or both.
I have been a victim of fake news and false information for decades, demonizing me as anti-Malay, anti-Islam; cause of May 13 riots in Kuala Lumpur in 1969 when I was never in Kuala Lumpur during the relevant period; agent of foreign powers one and the same time, agent of CIA, M16, KGB and Australian Intelligence; having received RM1 billion from Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to allow the entry of PPBM into Pakatan Harapan, received RM100 million from Malaysian tycoon Robert Kuok, financed a news portal with RM40 million, received more than a billion ringgit from Israeli sources, and other monstrous and evil lies.

Will Najib be the first to be charged under the Anti-Fake News Act 2018 for the fake news that he has been cleared by Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of any wrongdoing in the 1MDB scandal when it is passed by Parliament?
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Financial Scandals, Najib Razak on Tuesday, 27 March 2018
We have before Parliament a most monstrous and pernicious Anti-Fake News Bill, which undermines the Federal Constitutional guarantees on fundamental liberties in particular Article 10 on freedom of speech and expression, which will destroy the Malaysian Dream of all Malaysians down the generations that Malaysia will mature into a normal democracy.
On top of the epithet of a kleptocracy, Malaysia will be known worldwide as a democracy which had regressed into an autocracy, although retaining the external trappings of a parliamentary democracy.
It is no wonder that the Anti-Fake News Bill 2108 is unanimously regarded by all journalists worth their salt as the biggest ever threat to press freedom once it becomes law.
In fact, even former information minister Tan Sri Rais Yatim is shocked by the wide-ranging implications of the Anti-Fake News Bill, calling on the public to scrutinize it, which is clearly impossible if the Bill is to be rushed to become law before the 14th General Elections as one of the ultra-weapons against the Pakatan Harapan and civil society and to save the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s political life.
Rais has presciently warned of the wide implications of the Anti-Fake News Bill on the government, groups, NGOs and individuals, pointedly asking what would happen if “fake news” came from the government. Read the rest of this entry »
DAP will hold nation-wide forum in each State on whether Najib had been cleared of wrongdoing in PAC report over 1MDB and Najib is welcome to attend every such forum or to send a representative

I was totally flabbergasted by the baseless claim of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, yesterday that he had been cleared of wrongdoing in the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) Report over 1MDB.
I believe that I one of the few MPs who had read the full PAC report on 1MDB, but I did not find any part which exonerated Najib from the 1MDB scandal.
Had I read the wrong PAC report?
I challenge the PAC Chairman, Datuk Hasan Ariffin or any PAC member to collaborate Najib’s claim, and if neither the PAC Chairman nor any Barisan Nasional MP on the PAC is prepared to do so, we can see the falsity of Najib’s claim, making it as the No. 1 Fake News in the country. Najib’s claim that he was cleared of wrongdoing in PAC report over 1MDB is the most blatant, greatest and worst fake news concocted by Malaysian Government

Yesterday, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak concocted the most blatant, greatest and worst fake news in Malaysia when he claimed that he was cleared of wrongdoing in the Public Accounts Committee Report (PAC) over the 1MDB scandal.
I challenge the Prime Minister to quote chapter and verse in the PAC Report on 1MDB which was tabled in Parliament in April 2016 which cleared him of any wrongdoing in the 1MDB scandal, and which had continued to make world headlines about kleptocracy in 1MDB in the past three years.

I have been a victim of UMN/BN “fake news” for the last four decades – UMNO leaders accuse me of being anti-Malay while MCA leaders accuse me of being anti-Chinese and had sold out the rights of the Chinese to the Malays

“Fake News” is the latest fashion of the day. The present preoccupation with fake news was started by Donald Trump, the President of United States, and it has been taken up with gusto by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, not so much to combat fake news, but to provide the circumstances and wherewithal to concoct and peddle fake news with immunity and impunity while suppressing truth and embarrassing news emanating from the Opposition and civil society.
What Najib, just like Trump, is doing is to launch a “fake anti-fake news” campaign!

Is Malaysia destined for “greatness” under Najib’s premiership – to be regarded worldwide as a global double kleptocracy?

Is Malaysia destined for “greatness” under the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, to be regarded worldwide as a global double kleptocracy?
Yesterday, the DAP MP for Taiping, Nga Kor Ming, offered Najib free legal services to sue international news weekly, the Economist, for its 8th March, 2018 article: “Stop, thief! Malaysia’s PM is about to steal an election”.
I fully endorse this offer of free legal services from DAP, and Najib can choose anyone of the following nine DAP lawyer-MPs to defend his reputation and that of the nation – Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong), Nga Kor Ming (Taiping), Ngeh Koo Ham (Beruas), M. Kulasegaran (Ipoh Barat), Lim Lip Eng (Segambut), Thomas Su (Ipoh Timur), Teo Nie Ching (Kulai), Ramkarpal Singh (Bukit Gelugor), Chong Chieng Jen (Bandar Kuching).
But it is almost a full week, and there has been thunderous silence from Najib, with no response whatsoever from Najib on the Economist’s article calling him a thief who is to steal the 14th General Election – or the MSNBC television host Rachel Maddow who called Najib a thief in the Rachel Maddow Show programme on March 9 because of the international multi-billion 1MDB money-laundering scandal.
