In the September 2021 Bloomberg Covid Resilience Ranking released yesterday, Ireland tops the world and the rest of the Top Ten nations are Spain, Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, UAE, France, Switzerland., Canada and Norway.

With daily new Covid-19 cases down to 10,959 cases, the next targets are to descend to four-digit numbers and to go lower than the 4,000 cases Malaysia was supposed to be in three months ago
The daily new Covid-19 cases was down to 10,959 cases yesterday – the lowest for two-and-a-half months since 13th July 2021.
This is the best news for Khairy Jamaluddin since he was sworn in as the new Health Minister on August 30, as before July 13, the daily new Covid-19 cases were in four-digit numbers.

Yesterday, Malaysia sets two new dubious records in the Covid-19 pandemic.
Firstly, we “improved” our world ranking to No. 20 among nations with the most cumulative total of Covid-19 cases with 13,899 daily new Covid-19 cases and secondly, we passed the 25,000-mark for Covid-19 deaths, as we have a cumulative total of 25,159 deaths after yesterday’s daily 228 Covid-19 deaths.

Why has Malaysia’s daily new Covid-19 cases increased from 3.5 times to 5.7 times that of Indonesia in the 26 days Khairy Jamaluddin had been the new Health Minister?
Yesterday, Malaysia recorded 14,554 new daily Covid-19 cases and 250 daily Covid-19 deaths, while Indonesia recorded 2,227 new daily Covid-19 cases and 144 Covid-19 deaths.
This is the 37th consecutive day that Malaysia had more daily new Covid-19 cases than Indonesia since August 18, 2021, and except for two days since Sept. 6, 2021, Malaysia had more Covid-19 daily deaths than Indonesia for 16 days. Congratulations to Khairy Jamaluddin, the Health Minister, for bringing down daily new Covid-19 cases to below 14,000 cases yesterday – the first time since two months ago – and now to surmount the next hurdle to bring down daily new Covid-19 cases to below 4,000 cases as four months ago and which was supposed to be one of the three thresholds for transiting from Phase One of the National Recovery Plan announced by the former Prime Minister on 15th June 2021.
There is also the good news of daily Covid-19 deaths plunging from 487 deaths (including 161 Brought-in-Dead BID deaths) on Tuesday to 116 Covid-19 deaths (with only 29 BID deaths) yesterday.

I have grave reservations that Muhyiddin Yassin, the person responsible for the losing war against the Covid-19 pandemic and the millions of Covid-19 cases and tens of thousands of Coivid-19 deaths is Chairman of the National Recovery Council.

I have this morning received an email from a scholar tracking Covid-19 data, reinforcing doubts and queries about the recent data about Covid-19 deaths which must be clarified by the new Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin.

There is no guarantee that the confidence-supply-reform (CSR) memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri and Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties will successfully usher Malaysia into a new political landscape.
The CSR MOU has evoked a whole spectrum of reactions, from a G25 spokesman and a former Treasury secretary-general in the early nineties who said there was now hope that the country will progress towards a smooth pandemic recovery as he was more confident about the country moving ahead compared to just a few days ago and saw light at the end of the tunnel to the other extreme that saw the CSR MOU as giving a life-line to those who wanted Malaysia to continue in the trajectory towards a kleptocracy, kakistocracy and a failed state.
