We must reignite hope and confidence in the future as we hold in our hands the ability to reverse the national decline of the past half a century

I take this opportunity to announce my political retirement and I will not contest for any position, including the party CEC today – you should delete No. 39 from the CEC candidate list) – or any parliamentary or state assembly seat.
I have been with the party for 56 years – two days ago was the DAP’s 56th anniversary – and have seen it develop from a small opposition party which fought the first general election in 1969 into a major political party in the Pakatan Harapan coalition which won the 14th General Election in 2018 and formed the government in seven states.

Does Malaysia want to be the first nation in the world to have a kleptocrat to return to power as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia?
The biggest joke in the 14-day Johore general election is the statement by the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Hasni Mohammad that Singapore could be more developed if it was led by UMNO.
For the last 27 years from 1995 to 2021, Singapore ranked among the top 10 countries in the world in the annual Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) while Malaysia fell from the rank of 23rd position in 1995 to 62nd position in 2021. Malaysia is expecting to drop further in the TI CPI 2022.
If UMNO was in Singapore, there was no way for the island republic to be among the top 10 countries in the world in the last 27 years for integrity, transparency and accountability. Read the rest of this entry »
It will be a national catastrophe of the first magnitude if Malaysia is the first country in the world where a convicted kleptocrat can return to power as head of government, whether as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia

It will be a national catastrophe of the first magnitude if Malaysia is the first country in the world where a convicted kleptocrat can return to power as head of government, whether as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
I have said that something is very wrong with the moral compass of Johore voters if they do not regard Najib Razak’s “Apa Malunya BOSSku” campaign as merely a circus but support it and endorse Najib Razak’s return, though a convicted kleptocrat, as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

We saw Azrol Rahani in action when he spoke just now – an angry Malaysian at the many injustices and wrongs in Malaysia, whether about FELDA or the Malaysian society as a whole.
We need angry Malaysians of all ages to express their anger at the many injustices and inequalities in our society after six decades of nationhood and to demand reforms so that we can fulfil our aspiration to be a world-class great nation instead of becoming a kleptocracy, kakistocracy and a failed state, as in that eventuality, all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, will suffer. World is watching Johor state general election on March 12 not because Johor is important but whether a convicted kleptocrat can begin to return as 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia

The world is following closely the Johor State general election on March 12, 2022 not because Johor is important but whether a convicted kleptocrat can begin to return as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Before May 9, 2018, Malaysians who went overseas were reluctant to admit they were Malaysians to avoid questions on the billion-ringgit 1MDB scandal, which was well-known and infamous worldwide although the subject was censored in Malaysia and Members of Parliament were not allowed to debate the subject in the Malaysian Parliament and on Malaysia becoming a kleptocracy.

Election of Ng Kor Sim as State Assemblywoman for Jementah will make the International Women’s Day this year particularly significant and meaningful
The election of Ng Kor Sim as State Assemblywoman for Jementah will make the International Women’s Day this year particularly significant and meaningful.
I call on the voters of Jementah to have a high voter turnout on March 12, 2022 to achieve three objectives:

Kamal Hassan’s new book “Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay Muslim politics – the Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation” is proof that not all Malays support Najib Razak’s “Apa Malunya BOSSku” campaign

The third Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Prof. Emeritus M. Kamal Hassan’s new book, “Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay-Muslim Politics – the Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation” is proof that not all Malays support Najib Razak’s “Apa Malunya BOSSku” campaign.
Kamal said he is “disgusted, appalled and sickened” by the corruption and hypocrisy of Malay Muslim politics in Malaysia.
But former Prime Minister Najib is campaigning like a “conquering hero” in the Johore state general election. Read the rest of this entry »
Call on Johore voters to show that they have more stamina and perseverance to fight kleptocracy than Najib in his defence of kleptocracy and 1MDB scandal

I am worried about the voter turn-out in the Johore state general election on March 12, 2022 and would call on the voters of Johore not to fall into Najib Razak’s trap of not voting and let UMNO to win a landslide victory in Johore which will be a stepping-stone for Najib to return as 10th or 11th Malaysian Prime Minister in the 15th national General Election.
Najib is campaigning as the real leader of UMNO and Barisan Nasional and to return as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia by using the Johore state general election as a testing ground for his popularity.

Call on people of Johor to ensure a high voter turnout on March 12 to ensure DAP can retain all 14 State Assembly seats and Pakatan Harapan’s “big tent” can win some 30 seats to form the next Johore state government to continue institutional reforms started in the 14th general election

DAP started in the Johor state general election from a very low point. Many do not expect the DAP to retain half the 14 seats won in the previous general election and there were even those who expect the DAP to be wiped out completely in Johor on March 12, especially under the Covid-19 pandemic which had been rampaging for more than two years and the very restrictive SoPs.
The public morale of the DAP and Pakatan Harapan was low because for more than two years, the Malaysian public had been fed with the false information, fake news and negative propaganda that the 22-month Pakatan Harapan government was a failure and disaster, when in fact, it was the beginning of institutional reforms started in the 14th General Election in 2018 to make Malaysia a world-class great nation. Tony Pua has gone too far in attacking to the Foon Yew school board of governors but he was right in condemning Najib for using Foon Yew to exculpate his kleptocracy

The DAP MP Damansara Tony Pua has gone too far in attacking the Foon Yew school board of governors but he was right in condemning Najib Razak in using Foon Yew to exculpate his kleptocracy.
For the last few days, I have been saying that UMNO has forced the holding of the Johor state general election on March 12, 2022 not to defend the lives and livelihoods of the people to enable life and the economy to re-open after more than two years of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, but to force the early holding of the 15th General Election to enable Najib Razak to return as the 10th or 11th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
