Let all Malaysians ponder the question: “Apa Lagi Malaysia Mau?”

I wish all Muslims in Malaysia Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

This is an auspicious occasion for non-Muslims in Malaysia to join their Muslim compatriots to commemorate a national celebration to underline a greater national unity, harmony and solidarity built over 56 years of Malaysian nationhood.

Recent events particularly in the past three months have given rise to valid and legitimate concerns about the success of Malaysian nation out of the diverse races, languages, religions, cultures and territories in the country in the sixth decade of Malaysian nationhood.

Immediately after the recent 13th general elections, Utusan Malaysia bannered a front-page headline: “Apa Lagi Cina Mau?”

This question should not have been asked, just as questions like “Apa Lagi Melayu Mau?”; “Apa Lagi Indian Mau?”, “Apa Lagi Kadazan Mau?” or “Apa Lagi Dayak Mau?”

It may be understandable for such questions to be asked in the first decade of nationhood, but something is very wrong when such questions are asked in the sixth decade of nationhood.

The right question to be asked should be: “Apa Lagi Malaysia Mau?”

And the answer would include good governance; successful battle against corruption in public life; public safety and low crime; economic justice, progress and prosperity for all and a world-class educational system from primary, secondary to university levels.

Something is very wrong in Malaysian nation-building with the recurrence of national controversies from jibes like “Balik Cina”, “Balik India” or even “Balik Indonesia”.

This is time for national reflection by all Malaysians who love this country and who have no intention to migrate to another country how to make Malaysia more united, harmonious, resilient, developed and prosperous for all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation.

Let all Malaysians ponder the question: “Apa Lagi Malaysia Mau?”

    First of all, Pak Lah
Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin.

Sorry for all those unkind words about yr Zzzz…. sleepy-head and calling you all kinds of funny names. At least I am not like Tun M. I know yr reasons now … and I apologise though I think you should have resigned earlier if you knew you could not function so well.

Anyway, let bygones be bygones. I still like you as one of nature’s friendliest gentleman. Forget about Tun M. He isn’t a close second or third, fourth, fifth….. actually, I don’t see him in the queue at all.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Pak Lah.

Your citizenship is that of Malaysian. And it will defeat the purpose of Princess Hang Li Po, Admiral ZhengHe and all the goodwill ambassadors sent from China to Malaysia or is it Malaya. Reality is even Malays are leaving for greener pastures.

Here are what “Apa Lagi Malaysia Mau?”

    1) Less squabbles on race/religion issues.
    2) More focus and input on remedying the country’s ills such as corruption, rising national debt, deteriorating public safety and declining education standards.
    3) More effort to reinvigorate our drooping economy and speed up vision 2020 so as to narrow the wealth gap between the various races and thus reducing racial polarization.

    “Apa Lagi Malaysia Mau?”
Scale down expectations of what to expect or desire if you believe what Lee Kuan Yew said in his new book launched yesterday, One Man’s View Of The World. See The MalaysianInsider’s report of 7th Aug here-
    http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/its-malay-rule-so-no-difference-if-bn-or-pakatan-in-power-argues-lee-kuan-y
in which the elder statesman is clearly dismissive of Pakatan Rakyat.

According to TheMalaysianInsider’s report- “The general view in Kuala Lumpur is that despite the sometimes very public run-ins with the Barisan Nasional-led government (BN) here, the PAP government in Singapore still prefers the status quo in Malaysia. It is more comfortable dealing with BN, having invested more than four decades building up links at different levels.”

It is true that Pakatan Rakyat cannot change everything even if it took power. But the society would change slowly after that. If UMNO is allowed to continue without break, then there cannot be any hope for a change at all. AAB wanted to make changes but failed. What more for others who had no wish at all to change? That is why MCA should cease to be a member of BN. But the running dogs there are only interested in their own future, starting from the person who has declared his candidacy for President. I wish him ill.

The ones who are most confused about what they want frankly is UMNO. Its true, they want their cake and eat it too. 51% of Malaysian was pretty clear about what they want in the last GE. The rest consist of people who are unsure but the most unsure want are those shouting the loudest. They are shouting the loudest because they don’t understand it one bit and all they see is that they can’t keep eating cake and keeping it.. Beyond that they really don’t have what it takes to understand…

its hopeless to try and educate the most confused. What is left is to educate those who don’t shout, those confused by them but don’t act stuipidly because they are sense something isn’t right and hence kept civil.

Malaysians want to welcome the rightful tenant of Putrajaya, the PR.
    That’s our most profound wish.

Malaysia was formed to unite the races in order to develop the country together. It was given a written Constitution that radically departed from and rejected the underpinnings of feudalism of the Tanah Melayu era. The nation, named “Malaysia” superseded the existence of the old unviable “Tanah Melayu”. Constitutionally, “Tanah Melayu” was defunct.

Then, the country was not a single entity but comprised of different countries, each with its own ruler, often at war with one another. The “Tanah Melayu” political structure was a system of feudal elitism where the ordinary Malays were treated as slaves, and the arbitrary unwritten dictates of the elites were often the law. Ordinary Malays were not accorded the privileges of getting an education, for to the elites, an educated population was a dangerous proposition. The only education that the ordinary Malays was exposed to was a corrupted form of religious edict or fatwa that enjoined obedience and slavish deference towards the ruling elite and to enforce the belief that the ruling elite are the infallible representatives of Allah who cannot be faulted for their behaviors and actions.

All these feudalistic characteristics were swept away when Malaysia was formed constitutionally. Even though Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy, the king does not played a pivotal role in the administration of the country. He is only a figurehead or nominal head without any real power. Where an ordinary citizen was deprived of holding political office in a feudal “Tanah Melayu” setup, in the present “Malaysia” any citizen can aspire to hold a political office, even as high as a prime ministership. This was proven when an immigrant from Kerala, an ordinary subject without a single drop of blue blood in his veins, was catapulted to the highest office of the land and ruled Malaysia for 22 years.

Yet this immigrant who is the beneficiary of the formation of Malaysia is mindlessly leading an agitation of going back to the feudal “Tanah Melayu” supremacist system and abolishing the rationale of a united multiracial Malaysia. If there is any element of sedition against the Constitution, this ungrateful immigrant from Kerala has committed the highest form of subversion against Malaysia. He has an infamous history of stirring troubles: from the incitement of May 13; the slander against the monarchy; the sponsor of the insidious Project IC of selling the country to foreigners in order to cling to political power; the murder of the parent UMNO and the fathering of an illegitimate child named UMNO Baru; the assassination of his appointed heir, Abdullah Badawi; and finally to the Machiavellian manipulation and blackmailing of the present prime minister, Najib Razak.

For all his attempt to poison the multiracial fabric of Malaysia, the majority of urban Malays have wise up and rejected his dangerous frolic with naked power.

In celebrating this religious festivity, I hope that Malaysians will take some time to ponder the following:

    1) Greater Klang Valley has a population of 6 million people, about 1/3 of the overall population of Malaysia, which makes DBKL budget bigger than the budget of the smallest states, yet KL does not have local election.

    2) Out of 21 election petition by Pakatan Rakyat, none has made it to hearing stage at the moment while a potentially kangaroo court is being conceived to hear petitions in Kelantan with a view that BN will wrestle back Kelantan from PAS through by-elections.

    3) 33 shootings so far in Malaysia, mostly fatal, and not a sign of repentance on the part of the police and Home Ministry that the time is now to beef up MACC and implement IPCMC.

    4) Dr M and Perkasa is still at it, bathed in an orgy of racial and religious bigotry.

Malaysians must surely wonder why despite a healthy majority voting against BN, they are still in power, and what we can all collectively do to set things right. Perhaps a bit of divine intervention is in order.

The evidence provided by Badawi’s interview AND Mahathir’s respond to LKY’s book PROVES BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that MAHATHIR IS SIMPLY A CLASSIC SOCIOPATH.. Ask any clinical pyschologist with a backbone and they will tell you the signs are classic..

NAJIB DON”T HAVE A CLUE when he said that it will take time to reform UMNO. THE DANGER IS THAT UMNO RUNS OUT OF TIME..Mahathir’s followers are CULT FOLLOWERS – they don’t care what the evidence are of Mahathir’s guilt and perversion. IF MAHATHIR DIES, these crazies will MAKE HIM A GOD. THEN THE PROBLEM BECOME EVEN WORST – it become a RELIGION..

  16. #19 by silat88 on Saturday, 10 August 2013 - 5:33 pm

it is not if Mahathir dies but when, the sooner the bettah like now.
He thinks he can live on forever. good luck with dat.
Unlike the respected Mr Lee- no one outside of Malaysia thinks much of the mad doctor.
As for the MCA goons – brain drain reasons – YES we left because of the policies of the government fixation over 1 race dominating. I am living testimony of it and LOVE it.
no more putting up with crap.
