The Red Bean Army is again in the news in Parliament.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi told Parliament during question time yesterday that “the Red Bean Army and its ilk” will face criminal and civil action for spreading lies through the Internet.
Many questions come to mind.
Firstly, does the Home Minister with his intelligence and background really believe that a “DAP-funded Red Bean Army” of 3,000 cybertroopers really exist, and is this belief backed up by the Police? Will the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar speak up?
Secondly, why the government has not taken any action for the principal lie that the DAP funded the so-called Red Bean Army of 3,000 cybertroopers with a budget of RM100 million to RM1 billion in the past six years, as it should not require much professionalism for the cyber-cops to expose the quackery and buffoonery of this tall tale of fiction, especially as Concorde Hotel, which is the haunt of top UMNO/BN leaders, had been pinpointed as one of the major centres of operation of this mythical cyber-army?
This was why last week I led a team of DAP MPs to visit Concorde Hotel, and all we found was the place crawling with UMNO leaders and operatives and the only discovery was that there was not only no sign of Red Bean Army, but the exorbitant ice-kacang in Concorde Hotel had no red beans at all!
Thirdly, has the Home Ministry greater expertise on information technology than the Communications and Multimedia Ministry when the Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister admitted to Parliament last Thursday that it does not know who the Red Bean Army is or whether there is a Red Bean Army despite all the allegations flying around both in cyberspace and the Barisan Nasional-controlled media.
Fourthly, and most interesting of all, why the UMNO/BN’s “fatal obsession” with the Red Bean Army tale.
After last week’s discovery that there is not only no sign of Red Bean Army in Concorde Hotel, a haunt of UMNO leaders and operatives, but there is even no red bean in the hotel’s exorbitant “ice kacang”, the fiction of a DAP-funded Red Bean Army of 3,000 cybertroopers is the subject of widespread jokes, scorn and derision.
What Zahid did yesterday was a desperate attempt to prevent the tall tale of DAP-funded Red Bean Army from dying a “laughing death”.
Clearly, the “fatal obsession” of Umno/BN to the tall tale of “DAP-funded Red Bean Army of 3,000 cybertroopers” is related to a secret agenda reaching high into Umno/BN circles to justify an allocation of RM350 million in the next five years to fight the fictitious Red Bean Army.
This is why the tall tale of the “DAP-funded Red Bean Army of 3,000 cybertroopers with a budget of RM100 million to RM1 billion in the past six years” must be salvaged and rehabilitated or there would be no case for a RM350 million allocation for the army of Umno/BN cybertroopers for the next five years.
We have hence come to the cause for UMNO/BN’s RM350 million “fatal obsession” with the fictitious Red Bean Army caper.

Either
1. Someone in UMNO has a fetish for red beans? or
2. It is the RM 350 million they are after and DAP has provided an easy excuse? or
They are just paranoid, chasing every shadow that they see?
Rakyat, you take your pick.
They stole GE 13 from us.
Shall we fight or stomach these nonsense for another 5 years?

It is worth RM 350 MILLION to someone or people even if they go about (or sit idly at home) looking for ghosts or beans. Think about it.
Cowgate involved ‘only’ RM 250 million.

Think of the spill-over effects – unproductive employment to ghost chasers, lawyers, hangers-on, MPs etc etc.

They just wrote off RM163m for Shahrizat family alone..What is RM350m spread over a group of loyal supporter that is willing to go rabid for them..
Also if you compared to what they spend on APCO, FBC media, even Ng Yen Yen’s facebook page, the price of RM350m to perpetuate a lie is cheap to them..Ng Yen Yen is probably going to REPEAT even BIGGER waste just as much as Malaysian Tourism Board’s chairman alone..
Najib’s “tranformation” – lie EVEN MORE than Mahathir ever did..

RM350 million for UMNO-BN to counter the so-called Red Bean Army while DAP spends about RM1 billion to sustain them, enough fund or not? The asking of RM350 million by Zahid from the Govt does not jive! That’s only about one third strength.
Zahid, realistically speaking, you need a minimal of RM1 billion to flatten the Red Bean Army and probably a bit more (over and above the fund) to wipe them off!
Where’s you logic and common sense, Zahid?

Why the hell did i post that chomping and munching mantis clip above? See comment #5.
Ah yes. Now, I remember.
Well of course, it has something to do with the red bean army thingy. Obvious. Isnt it? No? Oh never mind that. Just read on. My meaning will become clear.
Look. Its about umno’s greed alright. Ever eating and munching and chomping away. Unsatiable. Always. Eaten alive.
You want support? No problem. Just pay money. Need attendance? Easy. Money pls. Change allegiance? OK. How much can you pay? Want some online postings? Alright but money first.
Money for this. Money for that. Money for everything. Lu tolong gua, gua tolong lu. Easy. Simple, everything revolves around money.
This is umno’s culture ala “satu umno-style – oh sexy lady”. Oh. Errr sorry got carried away.
Anyway.
The culture is so deeply ingrained in umno. So deep that umno just could not fathom how anyone would want to post anything in support of dap without receiving money from dap.
To umno, money is a necessity. Without money nothing gets done. So by this logic, dap must have paid ppl like us to post comments here.
So there you go. The Big Bang that created the red bean army – the evidence of the army.
I bet my bottom dollar, the red bean army zahid spoke of consist of those ppl who post remarks here. That includes all of us here.
Time to press the panic button, folks.

Dear Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi, shouldn’t Utusan and its ilk also be made to face criminal and civil action for spreading lies through the mainstream media? Why practice double standards?

Grossly unprincipled politicians/leaders had been very successful in their building career in an environment where dishonesty, deceptive and manipulative have been rewarded….let alone the strong culture of bullying, harassment and intimidation.
Generations had been taught these are good and successful ‘ values’.

The damn sucky losers need to cook up something to save their faces and blame others! Therefore, they need to find a scapegoat…

We know that the so called “Red Bean Army” is a complete fabrication, something spawned by UMNO to discredit and to demonise the Opposition, especially the DAP. DAP just does not have the resources to bank-roll such a large group of cyber troopers. Only UMNO has the financial clout to do such nonsense. However, I don’t see why the Opposition can’t have cyber troopers, if it can afford to pay them. After all UMNO has Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian and TV3 to spread lies about the Opposition. In a boxing match, does the BN expect its opponent to fight with only one hand? And where would the RM 350million allocation that UMNO has purportedly requested come from?

Gosh!! Did the Home Minister really bring up a mythical organisation in Parliament?
What next, Minister? A RM500million allocation to look after the welfare of fairies living at the bottom of the Parliamentary Gardens, perhaps?
And, yes, Minister, you guessed it right, I was NOT paid by anybody to write the above observations!! :)

This is your basic bogeyman trick to demonise someone or some organisation. They created some fictitious entity that is painted with a lot of negative attributes……terror, hateful and contemptuous inducing persona projected on to it. Fear , hate and contempt are emotional glue to make the picture stick in people’s mind.
This is then associated with the person or organisation that they wanted to demonise.
The key to the success of this operation is to convince enough people to believe in it and then it will take on a life of its own. There is a critical mass that has to be breached for such lies to have credibility.
Umno warlords had been well advised in their recent dirty trick operation.
Knowing this, how do you combat or fight with a bogeyman ?
Spiritual tradition suggest fighting lies/untruth with truth. But the sad reality is that a bogeyman lie is something you cannot pin down because the lie cannot be proven and the truth then cannot be revealed. Denying that it does not exist is not telling the truth. The truth is that the bogeyman is a lie created by umno attack dogs.
Truth can only be said in one way but a lie takes on 10,000 faces of deception.
Another way is of course to fight a bogeyman with another bogeyman. But DAP is too decent for this…which is a good thing.
PR has enough members to have the critical mass to ensure that the bogeyman lie is seen for what it is. That is perhaps the only protection open to DAP at this point in time.

THE RED BEAN ARMY

If the Red Bean army requires UMNO to spend RM350mil, we should not be that upset unless the government is providing the funds.
It might even be good for Pakatan if UMNO indeed wastes its money on such a frolic!
Meanwhile, the nation and taxpayers are being made suckers with more dubious deals by 1MBD

If there are 3000 Red Bean members, surely it is not too difficult for the UMNO lapdog PDRM and MCMC to catch at least one? And once detained, the PDRM can always use their patented “interrogation techniques” to extract a confession.
