All political parties, individuals and organisations complicit in the 1MDB scandal, like all the BN parties, PAS, Parliament Speaker and media, must repent and redeem themselves for, directly or indirectly, aided and abetted Najib Razak in the monstrous 1MDB scandal

The failure of the UMNO General Assembly on Sunday to adopt a resolution to condemn and sack Datuk Seri Najib Razak from UMNO for the international 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal is proof that UMNO and UMNO leaders continue to be complicit in the monstrous 1MDB scandal.

The 1MDB scandal will continue to be an albatross round the neck of UMNO and UMNO leaders.

Malaysians must thank Wanita Umno delegate from Batu Pahat, Masurana Samian, who wore a “MACC lock-up” orange-coloured T-shirt to the UMNO General Assembly on Sunday, as henceforth, UMNO and UMNO leaders are literally garbed in the orange-coloured MACC uniform!

But it is not only UMNO and UMNO leaders who must repent and make amends, all political parties, individuals and organisations complicit in the 1MDB scandal, like all the Barisan Nasional parties including MCA, Gerakan, MIC, the Sabah and Sarawak BN parties, as well as PAS, the Parliament Speaker and the printed and electronic media, who had been complicit in the 1MDB scandal, must repent and redeem themselves for directly or indirectly aiding and abetting Najib Razak in the monstrous 1MDB scandal. The political circus has come to town!

For eight months from August to March next year, the famed Moscow Circus is performing in ten cities in Malaysia, thrilling Malaysians with “dazzling and raw-dropping performances packed full of artistry, hilarity and world-class athletic skills”.

However UMNO and Barisan Nasional might have upstaged the Moscow Circus in the past few days with many “dazzling and raw-dropping performances” in their political circus!

Just to cite a few such super-circus performances:

1. UMNO President Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi in his inaugural UMNO Presidential speech called on members to remain patient and not to defect as they will soon be a hot commodity with the Pakatan Harapan which is expected to implode due to infighting. As a result, the Pakatan Harapan government can be dissolved at any time.

UMNO leaders who have assets worth over RM 100 million should declare themselves publicly giving the sources of their assets as a sign that UMNO is capable of reforming itself to fight corruption in Malaysia

In the past 22 years, New Zealand had topped the world 12 times, given the second ranking four times, and had never been ranked below the fourth place in the annual Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI)nfor the world – covering 180 countries in the latest index.

In contrast, Malaysia’s ranking had deteriorated over the years, ranging from No. 23 out of 41 countries in 1995 to the 62nd out of 180 countries in the latest TI CPI 2017 ranking

In the past two decades, other countries like Indonesia and China have improved by leaps and bounds in their anti-corruption efforts. Read the rest of this entry »

Singapore’s return to Malaysia of RM46 million stolen from 1MDB powerful reminder that unless MCA and UMNO leaders apologise and repent for aiding and abetting Najib in 1MDB corruption scandal, there is no future for MCA and UMNO

Singapore’s return to Malaysia of RM46 million unlawfully misappropriated from 1MDB and its former subsidiaries should be powerful reminder that the 1MDB global kleptocracy is not going to go away and unless MCA and UMNO leaders apologise and repent for aiding and abetting former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the 1MDB corruption scandal, there is no future for MCA and UMNO.

Efforts to recover other unlawfully misappropriated assets in the 1MDB scandal are ongoing not only in Singapore, but in many countries, including the United States and Switzerland and will continue to periodically catch international headlines and remind Malaysians of the criminality and moral turpitude of the 1MDB global kleptocracy. UMNO and PAS leaders should stop their delusion to justify the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in-the-making when the real intent of the unholy pact is purely for the selfish interests of UMNO and PAS leaders

UMNO and PAS leaders should stop their delusion to justify the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in-the-making when the real intent of the unholy pact is purely for the selfish interests of UMNO and PAS leaders.

A PAS leader has said that the PAS’ increased vote share at the Seri Setia by-election yesterday showed that further cooperation between BN and PAS was worth exploring.

He said Harapan’s popular vote had deteriorated whereas PAS had made significant inroads.

Would former MCA and UMNO Ministers in Najib’s Cabinet dare to claim that they are not responsible for Najib’s cover-up of the 1MDB scandal and failure to defend Malaysia’s honour to counter the worldwide infamy of a global kleptocracy?

When I campaigned for Wong Siew Ki, the DAP/Pakatan Harapan candidate for Balakong by-election in Selangor, in Balakong new village and Cheras Batu 11 yesterday, I said among other things that MCA did not qualify for the task of providing a check and balance against Pakatan Harapan as it has no credibility, unless it is prepared to reform and start over by admitting and apologisung for aiding and abetting former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak for the monstrous crime of corruption, like the 1MDB scandal, and condemn Najib over the scandal.

The MCA leadership has replied to my comment but it remained studiously and thunderingly silent about the global scandal of 1MDB.

Why is this so?

Dare the three MCA Ministers and the UMNO/MIC/Gerakan Ministers claim that they are not responsible for Najib’s cover-up of the 1MDB scandal and failure to defend Malaysia’s honour to counter the worldwide infamy of a global kleptocracy? Read the rest of this entry »

Like a breath of fresh air, Khaled is asking Najib to come clean on Jho Low

Its like a breath of fresh air on the acrid subject of the 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal – not only someone echoing what I have been trying to bell the cat with regard to the strange and extraordinary relationship between former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Penang playboy billionaire Jho Low, but someone from the UMNO leadership doing so!

Yesterday, UMNO Vice President Khaled Nordin said Najib and his family must volunteer any information they may have on fugitive businessperson Low Taek Jho so they may clear their names smeared with allegations relating to the 1MDB scandal.

In a statement, Khaled said it was the “responsibility” of the former premier and his family to do so. Read the rest of this entry »

Not just Najib but all UMNO/BN leaders who helped Najib cover up the 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal and did nothing to purge Malaysia of infamy of global kleptocracy are all on trial

Former Johor Mentri Besar Khaled Nordin cannot be more wrong when he said that it was Najib Razak alone who is on trial but not UMNO.

In fact, it is not just Najib but all UMNO/BN leaders who had helped Najib to cover up the monstrous 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal and did nothing to purge Malaysia of the infamy and ignominy of a global kleptocracy who are on trial.

This would include all the Ministers in the Najib Cabinet, the UMNO/BN MPs of the 13th Parliament as well as the leaders of UMNO and Barisan National parties.

When the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) filed what the US Attorney-General later described as “kleptocracy at its worst” 1MDB-linked assets forfeiture litigation in July 2016, which was later expanded in June 2017 to a 251-page indictment of embezzlement and defrauding of 1MDB funds involving the Prime Minister himself who was specifically described as “Malaysian Official 1(MO1)”, any self-respecting, honest and patriotic Prime Minister would have issued a point-by-point rebuttal in his own country without even recourse to any foreign court to establish not only his own innocence but refute the allegation that Malaysia had become a global kleptocracy. Annuar Musa should explain his racist, reckless but most provocative and incendiary speech which is circulated in a 1 min 58 sec WhatsApp video “Realiti Kerajaan Pro-DAP” on social media

The Sungai Kandis by-election should be a serious warning as to what is in store for Malaysian politics and nation-building in post-14General Election, if extremist, desperate and dangerous political elements are given a free hand to destroy the very fabic of Malaysia’s plural society.

While the Sungai Kandis by-election result is very clear that these extremist, desperate and dangerous elements are fighting a losing battle in securing majority popular support in trying to resort to the most rabid and provocative politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies, they are still capable of doing great damage to the fabric of Malaysia’s plural society if they are allowed a free hand to incite hate and baseless fears to create racial and religious animosity, hatred and strife in Malaysia.

Sungai Kandis by-election a double slap in the face for Najib and Hadi

Earlier today, I had asked whether the UMNO candidate for Sungai Kandis, Lokman Adam will get more or less than the combined votes of 19,091 votes which UMNO/PAS candidates totalled in the 14GE.

In the 14th General Election, the UMNO candidate won 11,518 votes while the PAS candidate polled 7,573 votes – totaling 19,091 votes. The winning PKR/PH candidate in the 14GE won with 23.998 votes.

The result of the Sungai Kandis by-election have been announced, and the winning PKR/PH candidate, Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni polled 15,427 votes while the UMNO/BN candidate Lokman Adam polled 9,585 votes, yielding a majority for Zawawi of 5,842 votes.

With the voter turnout at 49.4% as compared to 86% in the 14th General Election, the winning PKR/PH candidate polled 64% of the vote secured in the 14GH.

If the UMNO candidate, Lokman secured 64% of the UMNO votes in the 14GE, he would get 7,371 votes, leaving 2,214 votes probably coming from the PAS’ 7,573 votes in the 14GE, i.e. some 29% of the PAS vote in the 14GE.

The Sungai Kandi by-election result is therefore a double slap in the face for Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the PAS President, Haji Abdul Hadi Awang.

Najib had unprecedentedly campaigned very hard in Sungai Kandi by-election hoping for a political miracle that that can lead to a political turnaround of popular support for him. He also hoped to use the Sungai Kandi by-election to tell the country, and in particular UMNO chieftains, that he is a greater power than anyone in UMNO.

But Najib failed miserably on both counts, as Lokman could not get the 11,518 votes polled by the UMNO candidate in the 14GE, polling 1,933 votes less than the UMNO/BN in the general elections.

In the Sungai Kandis by-election, several PAS national leaders have as good as asking PAS members and supporters to vote for Lokman, but Lokman could not even reach 30% of the PAS votes in the 14GE.

Many thanks to Tajuddin for confirming that post-14GE, UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under Najib had launched a “scorched-earth” policy to take the vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies to an extremity never seen in Malaysia

I said at the opening of the DAP parliamentary service centre in Gelang Patah yesterday that we are in a new phase in politics in Malaysia in post-14th General Election, as UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak have abandoned all pretensions of moderation, balance and 1Malaysian attitude to sabotage the Pakatan Harapan government, hoping that the Pakatan Harapan government in Putrajaya and in the various states would not last the full term, crack and disintegrate to allow UMNO to return to power before 15GE.

I must thank the former UMNO Deputy Minister, Tajuddin Rahman (MP for Pasir Salak) for confirming that post-14GE, UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under Najib had launched a “scorched-earth” policy to take the vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies to an extremity never seen in Malaysia before.

UMNO is sinking lower and lower, day after day

New UMNO President and Parliamentary Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said in his speech in Parliament on Wednesday that May 9 was a tragedy and a nightmare.

Yes, it was a tragedy and nightmare to the UMNO and Barisan Nasional leaders, but to the overwhelming majority of patriotic Malaysians both inside the country and in the Malaysian Diaspora worldwide, it was a day of liberation, of hope reborn that Malaysia can be saved from becoming a global kleptocracy and be great again, as expressed by Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman during the founding of the nation to be “a beacon of light in a difficult and distured world” instead of being “a zone of darkness in the world of corruption and money-laundering”.

UMNO, the great political party of Onn Jaffar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein is sinking lower and lower, day after day, as in the past three days.

On Wednesday, Malaysiakini, in its latest microsite, revealed that in total, at least RM470 million went from 1MDB to various political entities through 102 transactions, excluding individuals, between April 2012 and August 2013.

Umno received the lion’s share, at RM417.4 million or 88.8 percent of the funds. The next biggest recipients were MIC at RM20.55 million, and MCA at RM16.5 million. Up to now, UMNO and the other BN parties have kept an indiscreet silence. Read the rest of this entry »

Why did the PAS/UMNO/MCA/MIC MPs return to the Chambers to be sworn in if they really believe that Ariff was improperly elected as Speaker of Parliament

I have been mystified all this morning – why did the PAS/UMNO/MCA/MIC Members of Parliament return to the Parliamentary Chambers to be sworn in if they if they really believe that Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof had been improperly elected as Speaker of Parliament?

Led by PAS MPs, the UMNO/MCA/MIC Members of Parliament, except for Khairy Jamaluddin and Anifah Aman, walked out of Parliament in the first few minutes of the 14th Parliament, which appears to set to tone for a most negative, divisive and destructive performance by the Opposition in the 14th Parliament – unless the various party leaders, including the PAS President, Datuk Seri Awang Hadi and the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi could give a cogent, reasonable and acceptable reason for such double standards.

If PAS and UMNO leaders cannot give a cogent, reasonable and acceptable explanation, I do not expect their MCA and MIC counterparts to be able to do so, and I shall not ask them at all.

Althogh I felt a sense of déjà vu with the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi staging a walkout of Parliament in the first few minutes of the 14th Parliament, I would advise them not to emulate the actions of the former Opposition blindly, that they must have cogent, coherent, reasonable and acceptable reasons for their walk-outs, unlike their ridiculous walkout this morning.

There is threat by Najib’s acolytes to mar the second day of the 14th Parliament tomorrow, which is the official opening of the first session of the 14th Parliament by the Yang di Pertuan Agong, based on fake news and false information in an attempt to revive the toxic but failed politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies spearded by UMNO/BN in the 14th General Elections.

Malaysians will judge whether these actions by Najib’s acolytes are designed to promote national unity or calculcated to incite imaginary fears to poison racial and racial relations which can only result tin greater racial and religious polarisation and national division.

Déjà vu – Walk-out by PAS MPs leading BN MPs in the very first business of 14th Parliament

Its déjà vu – the walkout by PAS MPs leading Barisan Nasional MPs during the first business of the 14th Parliament on the election of the Parliament Speaker.

Three matters are worth noting about this walkout, viz:

1. The Opposition walkout was led by PAS, with UMNO, MCA and MIC MPs meekly following suit;

2. Two UMNO MPs refuse to join in the walkout, Khairry Jamaluddin and Anifah Aman.

3. The sole MCA MP and two MIC MP tamely following the PAS-led first walkout of the 14th Parliament.

But the most significant matter is the seating arrangement for the Barisan Nasional MPs – the second placing for the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak which means that although Najib has resigned as UMNO and BN President for the disastrous electoral results of the 14GE, where BN was booted out of power and UMNO lost its role as the political party with majority support of Malay voters, Najib is still the most powerful force in UMNO/BN although without title or position. Najib is up to no good at the opening of Parliament

The statement issued by Datuk Seri Najib Razak addressed to the Minister for Human Resources, M. Kulasegaran not to blame him if Pakatan Harapan can’t decide on the Parliament Speaker is the best tell-tale sign that the former Prime Minister is up to no good at the opening of Parliament.

I thank those who had mistakenly congratulated me as the new Speaker of Parliament – as I will be a backbencher and not Speaker.

But there is no problem with the Pakatan Harapan deciding on the Parliament Speaker, as the primary challenge of the 14th Parliament is to take the steps to become a world-class Parliament, recognised by Parliaments in the world for its parliamentary reform and innovation, and not an infamous Parliament of a global kleptocracy. UMNO must learn the right lessons from DAP just as DAP must learn from the lessons of UMNO’s fall from a political party with clear-cut majority support of the Malays into a party securing only minority Malay support

Those who fancy themselves as the saviours of UMNO after UMNO’s historic defeat in the May 9, 2018 general elections, which reduced UMNO from a party enjoying clear-cut majority support of the Malays for 69 years since its formation into a party securing only minority Malay support, must draw the right lessons from DAP just as DAP must learn the lessons of UMNO’s fall from grace in the Malaysian political arena.

One of these “saviours”” has urged UMNO to emulate DAP although he immediately proceeded to distort the DAP’s objectives to resort to the politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies which had failed so miserably in the 14GE – and which is the very opposite of what the DAP had been doing for five decades.

UMNO “saviours” must learn the right lessons from the DAP’s political struggle for Malaysia to become a top world-class nation and not draw the wrong and wildly bizarre lessons which only exist in the fevered imagination of cranks and opportunists! Read the rest of this entry »

Agree with new Wanita UMNO chief Noraini that Ermieyati who resigned from UMNO should resign as MP for Masjid Tanah to seek a new mandate, but the Constitution should be amended first to allow Ermieyati to re-contest in such a by-election

The new Wanita UMNO chief Noraini Ahmad has challenged MPs who quit UMNO to relinquish their positions as elected representatives and trigger by-elections.

So far, three UMNO MPs have announced their resignation from UMNO to become independent MPs, namely Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hassin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal and Bagan Serai MP Noor Azmi Ghazali.

Noraini said:

“The decision by the three MPs, particularly Mas Ermieyati, to become independent MPs, is clearly a betrayal of the people’s trust who had elected them as Umno and BN representatives.

“Wanita Umno would like to remind Mas Ermieyati and other BN representatives that their position as MPs is not due to themselves but a combination of hard work by the party machinery and the people’s trust in Umno and BN. Read the rest of this entry »

Najib’s strategists have vindicated themselves – managed to win in the UMNO elections yesterday after they had been given a drubbing in the 14GE though it is likely to be a pyrrhic victory

Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s highly-funded strategists have at least vindicated themselves – managed to win in the UMNO elections yesterday after they had been given a drubbing in the 14th General Election though it is likely to be a pyrrhic victory.

As if to drive home the point that Najib is still a force to be reckoned with in Malaysian politics, Najib’s strategists went “for the kill” to deliver the message after the UMNO elections results were known last night that Najib is still the leading force in UMNO politics and to set the UMNO agenda in post-14GE with the statement on the pertinence and sagacity of Najib’s “bastardised” Malays prediction three years ago. Public Accounts Committee committed one of its greatest national disservice in six decades in allowing its 1MDB Report to be distorted as exonerating Najib from any wrongdoing in the 1MDB scandal

One of the highlights of the “live” UMNO Presidential candidates’ debate last night was the admission by Khairy Jamaluddin that one of his regrets in life was to accept the explanation of the 1MDB scandal.

Although he felt there were holes in the explanation provided on 1MDB, Khairy said he accepted the explanations as the investigations that was conducted by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) did not implicate the prime minister at that time.

This is in fact the greatest disservice of the Public Accounts Committee in six decades where, instead of revealing cover-ups, it helped to cover up the greatest financial scandal in the land. Read the rest of this entry »
