Meaning of Port Dickson by-election: Solid endorsement for a New Malaysia and the vision of a New Port Dickson to restore its previous greatness as a premier tourist destination
The Port Dickson by-election on October 13 is important not only for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to return to Parliament in preparation for his becoming the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia as decided by the Pakatan Harapan leaders, but is an important building block of the New Malaysia the country has an opportunity to build after the reset of nation-building policies following the historic 14GE election on May 9, 2018.
The Port Dickson by-election on Oct. 13 has two major objectives: Firstly, as a solid endorsement of the building of a New Malaysia; and secondly, the vision of the building of a New Port Dickson to restore its previous greatness as a premier tourist destination.
The building of New Malaysia and the undoing of the corruption, abuses of power, injustices and repression of the past decades cannot be accomplished in one hundred days or five months, but is a sacred mission and task which needs the support of more and more Malaysians and may take a decade or two. UMNO and PAS leaders should stop their delusion to justify the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in-the-making when the real intent of the unholy pact is purely for the selfish interests of UMNO and PAS leaders
UMNO and PAS leaders should stop their delusion to justify the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in-the-making when the real intent of the unholy pact is purely for the selfish interests of UMNO and PAS leaders.
A PAS leader has said that the PAS’ increased vote share at the Seri Setia by-election yesterday showed that further cooperation between BN and PAS was worth exploring.
He said Harapan’s popular vote had deteriorated whereas PAS had made significant inroads.

One option MCA should consider is to close shop if the best it can do in the Balakong by-election is to keep its deposit (or secure 12.5% of total votes cast) even with PAS help
I am really surprised by the low standards and expectations of MCA leaders on the eve of the 60th MCA anniversary in their reaction to the Balakong by-election result.
For instance, the MCA Deputy President, the sole MCA parliamentary survivor in the 14th General Election and MCA master campaigner in the Balakong by-election, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong claimed success for the MCA outing, saying that MCA had gained a higher percentage of support compared to the May election.
Wee said MCA earned a higher percentage of support of almost 15 per cent compared to 10.7 per cent in GE14.
This is really pathetic. Read the rest of this entry »
Sungai Kandis, Seri Setia and Balakong by-elections are building blocks for the making of the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance to topple the Pakatan Harapan government before 15GE in 2013 and such ignoble efforts must be exposed and defeated
The Sungai Kandis, Seri Setia and Balakong by-elections in Selangor are the building blocks for the making of the MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance to topple the Pakatan Harapan government before the 15th General Election in 2013 and such ignoble efforts must be exposed and defeated.
UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has said that the entire UMNO leadership would attend the PAS Muktamar in Kuala Terengganu next week.
But I do not expect the MCA leadership would dare to be so brazen and blatant as to attend the PAS Muktamar, as it already speaks of great desperado on the part of MCA leaders that they could agree to PAS leaders appearing in MCA ceramahs in the Balang by-election for the sake of saving the deposit of the MCA candidate.
But why had UMNO given way to PAS in the Seri Setia by-election? Read the rest of this entry »
UMNO and PAS making use of MCA to “borrow a corpse to resurrect the soul” (借尸还魂) to build the new MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance to plot the downfall of Pakatan Harapan Government before 15GE
Yesterday, I asked three questions:
· Why PAS wants to help the MCA in the Balakong by-election;
· Why is MCA getting help from UMNO leaders who are continuing with their extreme and irresponsible politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies declaring that after the 14GE, the Malays have lost political power, that the DAP is the enemy of the Malays and Islam and that DAP wanted to abolish the Malay Sultans and set up a republic.
· Why is MCA so desperate that it has to seek help from the extremist and opportunistic UMNO/PAS unholy alliance to avoid losing deposit in the Balakong by-election?
All the answers to these three questions were answered yesterday evening.
In the Seri Setia by-election yesterday, UMNO and PAS finally got in bed together, with both parties campaigning jointly for the PAS candidate.
This unholy UMNO/PAS union was blessed by the MCA leadership, which was represented at the PAS Seri Setia by-election campaign when the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi spoke at the PAS by-election ceramah and even pledged to personally attend the PAS Muktamar in Kuala Terengganu next week. First three MCA Presidents, Tan Cheng Lock, Lim Chong Eu and Tan Siew Sin, must be turning in their graves at the new MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in Balakong by-election to cause downfall of Pakatan Harapan government before 15GE
The first three MCA Presidents, Tun Tan Cheng Lock, Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu and Tun Tan Siew Sin, must be turning in their graves at the new MCA/UMNO/PAS unholy alliance in the Balakong by-election to cause the downfall of Pakatan Harapan government before the 15th General Election so as restore the regime of corruption, abuses of power and mediocrity of the past.
The three questions uppermost in Malaysian minds are:
Firstly, why PAS wants to help the MCA in the Balakong by-election.
During the May 9 general election, the winning candidate from DAP and Pakatan Harapan Eddie Ng polled 41,768 votes while the PAS candidate polled 6,230 votes and the MCA candidate polled 5,874.
What is most noteworthy is that the PAS candidate got more votes than the MCA candidate, although both lost their deposits. Read the rest of this entry »
Official support of PAS for MCA in Balakong by-election reinforces my call to Balakong voters to come out in full force to ensure “One Vote to reject MCA, UMNO and PAS” on Sept. 8
The official support of PAS for MCA in Balakong by-election has reinforced my call on Sunday night for the voters of Balakong to come out in full force on the by-election polling day on Saturday, 8th Sept. 2018 to carry out a historic and national task by using their one vote to reject the irresponsible and opportunistic politics of MCA, UMNO and PAS.
Malaysians have just celebrated Merdeka Day on August 31, and it was a celebration which was never like it in the past six decades.
Malaysians who were unconcerned and even indifferent in previous Merdeka Days were excited about the birth of a New Malaysia, a land where every Malaysian can feel proud to be a Malaysian.
Although Pakatan Harapan has peacefully and democratically replaced UMNO/BN as the Federal Government of Malaysia, MCA/UMNO leaders and conspirators are doing their utmost to bring about the downfall of the Pakatan Harapan Federal Government before the 14th General Election by 2023, or even earlier, in two to three years.
Now joining these MCA/UMNO leaders and conspirators in this irresponisble and opportunistic conspiracy to cause the downfall of Pakatan Harapan government are the PAS leaders, who have shown their hands in their appearance in support of the MCA Balakong by-election candidate last night.
We have on the one hand the MCA leaders, who are accusing the DAP of selling-out the rights and interests of the Malaysian Chinese, while the UMNO and PAS leadrers are complicit in attacking the DAP and Pakatan Harapan of betraying Malay rights and interests. Read the rest of this entry »
Call for over 80% of the Balakong voters to come out in Sept. 8 by-election to vote for a New Malaysia and reject UMNO/BN plot to topple the Pakatan Harapan Government to return the UMNO/BN regime of corruption and abuses of power
DAP and Pakatan Harapan have fielded Wong Siew Ki as candidate for the Balakong by-election to carry on the great work of the late Eddie Ng as Selangor State Assembly representative for Balakong.
Although the Balakong voters do not expect Wong to be exactly like Ng, as Ng had been such an exemplary people’s representative that some voters say they will be satisfied if Wong can do 60 per cent of what Ng did, Wong’s hectic and punishing pace during the by-election campaign covering the constituency is a testament of Wong’s determination to do her best and to do better than 60 per cent of what Ng did.
In the recent Sungai Kandis by-election, the voter turn-out was below 50 per cent although during the May 9 general election, the voter-turn out in Sungai Kandis was 86%. In the May general election, the voter turnout in Balakong was even higher at 87%.
Wong has appealed to the Bakakong voters for a voter turnout on Sept. 8 of over 60 per cent. This is not high enough. I want to appeal to the voters of Balakong for a historic turnout of over 80 per cent, as the Balakang by-election has a national significant over and above than just electing the State Assembly representative for Balakong.
Malaysians have just celebrated Merdeka Day on August 31, and it was a celebration which was never like it in the past six decades. Read the rest of this entry »
Vote in the Spirit of May 9, 2018 to defeat UMNO conspiracy to plot for the collapse fo the Pakatan Harapan Federal Government in two years or at least before the 15th General Election
I call on the voters of Balakong to come out in full force to vote in the Balakong by-election on Sept. 8 in the spirit of May 9, 2018 to build a New Malaysia to defeat the UMNO conspiracy to plot for the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan Federal Government in two years or at least before the 15th General Election.
Malaysians want to end the corruption, abuses of power and injustices of UMNO/BN in the past few decades and build a New Malaysia, but this is not something which can be achieved overnight or in 100 days.
It is a challenge and task which will take years, and Pakatan Harapan does not want to rule for only one term but want to win the 15th and 16th General Elections to complete the building of a New Malaysia where the country can fulfill the dream and hopes of Bapa Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, to be “beacon of light in a difficult and distracted world”.
It is an open secret that the Opposition, led by UMNO and with the support of other opposition parties, are plotting for the Pakatan Harapan Federal Government to collapse and disintegrate to allow them to return to the corridors of power in Putrajaya. Read the rest of this entry »
Annuar Musa should explain his racist, reckless but most provocative and incendiary speech which is circulated in a 1 min 58 sec WhatsApp video “Realiti Kerajaan Pro-DAP” on social media
The Sungai Kandis by-election should be a serious warning as to what is in store for Malaysian politics and nation-building in post-14General Election, if extremist, desperate and dangerous political elements are given a free hand to destroy the very fabic of Malaysia’s plural society.
While the Sungai Kandis by-election result is very clear that these extremist, desperate and dangerous elements are fighting a losing battle in securing majority popular support in trying to resort to the most rabid and provocative politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies, they are still capable of doing great damage to the fabric of Malaysia’s plural society if they are allowed a free hand to incite hate and baseless fears to create racial and religious animosity, hatred and strife in Malaysia.

Five lessons from the Sungai Kandis by-election
There are at least five lessons from the Sungai Kandis by-election.
Firstly, it is one of disappointment, that the voter turnout was the historic low of 49.4%,
But it is not for the reason that UMNO leaders are giving to flatter themselves. The UMNO/BN Deputy President Datuk Mohamad Hassan claimed that the historically low turnout was a sign of protest against the Pakatan Harapan government as it showed that something was wrong with the government.
If Mohamad is right, then the UMNO candidate Lokman Adam should be the beneficiary with high UMNO/PAS voter turn-out in support of him. Read the rest of this entry »
Sungai Kandis by-election a double slap in the face for Najib and Hadi
Earlier today, I had asked whether the UMNO candidate for Sungai Kandis, Lokman Adam will get more or less than the combined votes of 19,091 votes which UMNO/PAS candidates totalled in the 14GE.
In the 14th General Election, the UMNO candidate won 11,518 votes while the PAS candidate polled 7,573 votes – totaling 19,091 votes. The winning PKR/PH candidate in the 14GE won with 23.998 votes.
The result of the Sungai Kandis by-election have been announced, and the winning PKR/PH candidate, Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni polled 15,427 votes while the UMNO/BN candidate Lokman Adam polled 9,585 votes, yielding a majority for Zawawi of 5,842 votes.
With the voter turnout at 49.4% as compared to 86% in the 14th General Election, the winning PKR/PH candidate polled 64% of the vote secured in the 14GH.
If the UMNO candidate, Lokman secured 64% of the UMNO votes in the 14GE, he would get 7,371 votes, leaving 2,214 votes probably coming from the PAS’ 7,573 votes in the 14GE, i.e. some 29% of the PAS vote in the 14GE.
The Sungai Kandi by-election result is therefore a double slap in the face for Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the PAS President, Haji Abdul Hadi Awang.
Najib had unprecedentedly campaigned very hard in Sungai Kandi by-election hoping for a political miracle that that can lead to a political turnaround of popular support for him. He also hoped to use the Sungai Kandi by-election to tell the country, and in particular UMNO chieftains, that he is a greater power than anyone in UMNO.
But Najib failed miserably on both counts, as Lokman could not get the 11,518 votes polled by the UMNO candidate in the 14GE, polling 1,933 votes less than the UMNO/BN in the general elections.
In the Sungai Kandis by-election, several PAS national leaders have as good as asking PAS members and supporters to vote for Lokman, but Lokman could not even reach 30% of the PAS votes in the 14GE.

Will the UMNO candidate for Sungai Kandis, Lokman Adam get more or less than the combined votes of 19,091 votes which UMNO/PAS candidates totalled in the 14GE?
I agree with Bersih that former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak had contravened the election laws with his FaceBook appeal this morning to the Sungai Kandis by-election voters to vote for the UMNO by-election candidate, Lokman Adam.
Under Section 26 (1) (a) of the Election Offences Act 1954, no person shall give any form of address, public or otherwise, on polling day, while Section 26 (1)(f) says that no person will canvass for votes by “whatever means.”
Will Najib be charged in court for violation of the election laws?

Many thanks to Tajuddin for confirming that post-14GE, UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under Najib had launched a “scorched-earth” policy to take the vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies to an extremity never seen in Malaysia
I said at the opening of the DAP parliamentary service centre in Gelang Patah yesterday that we are in a new phase in politics in Malaysia in post-14th General Election, as UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak have abandoned all pretensions of moderation, balance and 1Malaysian attitude to sabotage the Pakatan Harapan government, hoping that the Pakatan Harapan government in Putrajaya and in the various states would not last the full term, crack and disintegrate to allow UMNO to return to power before 15GE.
I must thank the former UMNO Deputy Minister, Tajuddin Rahman (MP for Pasir Salak) for confirming that post-14GE, UMNO leaders and cybertroopers under Najib had launched a “scorched-earth” policy to take the vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies to an extremity never seen in Malaysia before.

MCA and MIC should close shop and MCA should not contest in Balakong by-election if their leadership dare not even say whether they want the UMNO candidate Lokman Aman to win or lose in the Sungaki Kandis by-election
In the past five days, I had asked the MCA and MIC national leaderhips three times whether they want the UMNO candidate in Sungai Kandis by-election to win or lose on Saturday.
Now that PAS has officially urged support for Lokman, which a commentator had described as “the new normal for Malaysian politics” in post-14GE Malaysia, I am going to ask the MCA and MIC national leadership for the fourth and final time in six days whether they want Lokman to win or lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election on Saturday.
MCA and MIC should close shop and MCA should not contest in the Balakong by-election if their leadership dare not even say whether they want the UMNO candidate Lokman Aman to win or lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election on Saturday.

Sungai Kandis by-election a crucial test whether Najib has succeeded in equating Islam with kleptocray in Malaysia
Posted by Kit in Elections, Najib Razak on Saturday, 28 July 2018
The Sungai Kandis by-election next Saturday will be a crucial test whether former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has succeeded in equating Islam with kleptocracy in Malaysia.
It will also be a crucial test as to whether Najib’s irresponsible, vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, fear, hate and lies, which failed to make the impact he had hoped in the 14GE to ensure the victory of UMNO/BN in the 14th GE, have still traction in Malaysian politics. Why are MCA and MIC leadership shy to declare whether they want Lokman Adam to win or lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election
Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak continue to sing praises for the UMNO/BN candidate for Sungai Kandis by-election, Lokman Adam.
Why are the MCA and MIC leadership shy to declare whether they want Lokman Adam to win or lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election?
During his campaign for Lokman in Sungai Kandis by-election, Najib said Lokman was an authoritative politician, who is also brave, “a vocal character who is brave in voicing out his opinions” and “the kind of people needed in the (Selangor) state assembly to ensure a mature democracy”.
Do the MCA and MIC leadership agree with Najib about Lokman or do they dare to express their disagreement publicly instead of quietly sulking?
Come on, the MCA and MIC leaderships! Speak up. Do you want Lokman to win or to lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election? In either case, are you prepared to give the reasons?
(Media Statement (2) by DAP MP for Iskandar Puteri Lim Kit Siang in Parliament on Friday, July 27, 2018)
MCA and MIC leadership should declare whether they want UMNO candidate Lokman Adam to win or to lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election
The attempt by the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to downplay MCA and MIC’s “perceived lack of involvement” in the Sungai Kandis campaign by saying that MCA and MIC needed to be given time to recover their strength following the Barisan Nasional electoral debacle on May 9, 2018 only highlights the two-faced game and political opportunism of these two parties.
I had this morning asked whether MCA and MIC support Lokman Adam’s candidature in Sungai Kandis and whether they regard Lokman Adam as the model UMNO leader they want in post-14GE.
Najib sang Loman’s praise when he campaigned for Lokman in Sungai Kandis, saying Lokman was an authoritative politician, who is also brave.
Najib said Lokman was “a vocal character who is brave in voicing out his opinions” and “the kind of people needed in the (Selangor) state assembly to ensure a mature democracy”.
Do the MCA and MIC leadership agree with Najib about Lokman.
Surely, even if the MCA and MIC needed time to recover their strength organisationally and in terms of manpower following the electoral disaster of the 14GE, this cannot be an excuse to stop them from articulating whether they want Lokman to win or to lose in the Sungai Kandis by-election!
(Media Statement (2) by DAP MP for Iskandar Puteri Lim Kit Siang in Parliament on Wednesday, 25th July 2018)
Do MCA and MIC support Lokman Adam’s candidature in Sungai Kandis and do they regard Lokman Adam as the model UMNO leader they want in post-14GE
The Barisan Nasional candidate for the Sungai Kandis by-election Lokman Noor Adam insists that he is not a racist but do MCA and MIC support his candidature and regard him as the model UMNO leader they want in post-14th General Election.
Why are the MCA and MIC leaders keeping a deafening silence on Lokman’s candidature in Sungai Kandis?
MCA Deputy President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong is talking on all issues under the sun, but on three issues he has kept a strange silence, viz: Najib’s culpability in the international 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal causing unprecedented shame and infamy to Malaysia for being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy; the secret letter by Najib’s spy chief to the CIA five days before the 14th General Election asking for United States support if the results of the 14th General Election was close; and Lokman Adam’s candidature in the Sungai Kandis by-election and whether the MCA leadership regards Lokman as the model UMNO leader they want in post-14GE.
