Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi should explain why security at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is so lax that it could become playground for foreign agents to assassinate North Korea leader Kim Jong Un’s half brother, Kim Jong Nam, 46.
As far as bad news for Malaysia on the world stage, the phrase “it never rains but it pours” is most apt.
Today, a Swiss newspaper gave a two-page spread to what it described as “Biggest Misappropriation of Funds in History”, referring to the international multi-billion 1MDB kleptocratic money-laundering scandal, in a coverage under the headline “LA FACE SUISE D’UN SCANDAL” which is google-translated as “THE SWISS FACE OF A SCANDAL” with photographs of the Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the company of Justo, Sturzengger and Di Caprio, with Najib described as “L’INSTIGATUR” (“THE INSTIGATOR”).
But all over the world, the headline news today is about the police manhunt in Malaysia after the half-brother of the North Korean leader was assassinated at the KLIA on Monday after being attacked with a chemical spray or needle. Read the rest of this entry »

There are those who say that Lim Kit Siang has betrayed the objectives and principles of the DAP for co-operating with Tun Mahathir to save Malaysia from a global kleptocracy and a failed and a rogue state, but they have not been able to give an iota of reason to substantiate their allegations.
Recently, this was given as one of the reasons for the defection of one DAP MP and three State Assemblymen in Malacca.
Their tune and song are no different from what UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers have been attacking the DAP.
For instance, the UMNO Minister for Rural and Regional Development Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri issued three days ago attacking me. It was a short five-paragraph statement but should go into the “Guinness Book of Records” for it told more than ten lies in five paragraphs.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is clearly a secret admirer of the US President Donald Trump, as he is emulating Trump in using tweets to spread his politics of fear, hatred and lies.
This could be seen by Najib’s tweet this evening:
“Lim Kit Siang is Pakatan’s de facto leader. DAP should stop trying to hide it. Voters know DAP has the most opposition seats and Lim Kit Siang calls the shots.”
I am reminded by Najib’s earlier politics of fear, hatred and lies when he tried to panic and scare the Malays into believing that if UMNO loses, I will become the Prime Minister of Malaysia as I am anti-Malay and anti-Islam and that the Malays will lose all their rights in the country.
There is one fatal flaw in the UMNO/Barisan Nasional campaign of fear, hatred and lies because of one great inner contradiction of their campaign – UMNO leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers accuse former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir of being my puppet and stooge, while MCA and Gerakan leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers say the opposite, that I have become Mahathir’s puppet and stooge.
UMNO/BN leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers should straighten out their propaganda campaign of fear, hatred and lies – whether Mahathir is my puppet and stooge or whether I have become Mahahir’s puppet and stooge. It is one or the other, as it cannot be both.
In actual fact, all these are lies and falsehoods – that Mahathir is my puppet and stooge, or that I have become Mahathir’s puppet and stooge.

I fully agree with the DAP PJ Utara MP, Tony Pua, that the Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Said Keruak is “completely untutorable” on the BMF, Bank Negara forex and 1MDB scandals, when Salleh could insist he was right and even brilliant to say that the Bumiputera Finance Scandal in the 1980s is worse than the ongoing 1MDB scandal as the government’s “real exposure” in 1MDB scandal is only RM1 million in its initial paid-up capital.
I tried to help Salleh understand the implications and magnitude of the 1MDB scandal, which for the first time in the nation’s history, has plunged the country into the international infamy of a global kleptocracy, suggesting three separate tutors for him for the BMF, Bank Negara forex and 1MDB scandals but it was in vain for Salleh was not prepared to be educated.
As Tony pointed out, Salleh is spinning a story that even the CEO for 1MDB, Arul Kanda has stopped spinning since a year ago – that the government exposure to the 1MDB scandal is only RM1 million, an incredibly naïve understanding of the 1MDB scandal which even students in schools would not be guilty of.
It is obvious that Najib’s Cabinet Ministers, not very outstanding in their IQs, also feel embarrassed by Salleh’s incredible naivetee, and have virtually given up on Salleh who has shown that he is “untutorable” on the BMF, Bank Negara forex and 1MDB scandals.
This was why the Cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday, discussed the possibility of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) or some official probe into Bank Negara forex losses more than two decades ago.
If Youth Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin was right on the Cabinet meeting, there was no mention not only of the current 1MDB scandal but also the BMF scandal more than three decades ago. Read the rest of this entry »

All Cabinet Ministers are guilty of colossal negligence and irresponsibility of the first degree when they could discuss the possibility of a Royal Commission of Inquiry into Bank Negara forex losses more than two decades ago but there is no mention or discussion of possible RCI into the current 1MDB kleptocratic scandal.
UMNO Youth Chief and Minister for Youth and Sports, Khairy Jamaluddin has said that the Cabinet will decide next week whether there should be an official inquiry into the Bank Negara forex losses in the early 1990s.
Khairy said the matter was discussed at the Cabinet yesterday and would be brought up again next Wednesday before a decision is made on the official probe.
Khairy has forfeited the right to represent the youths of Malaysia if he cannot voice out the views of all youths in the country that they do not want Malaysia to be known worldwide as a global kleptocracy as a result of the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal.

The Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Keruak should remember the adage “Little knowledge is a dangerous thing” when he blogged that the Bumiputera Finance Scandal in the 1980s is worse than the ongoing 1MDB scandal.
It is clear that Salleh’s knowledge of the BMF scandal and the Bank Negara forex scandal are most superficial, and I would recommend three tutors for Salleh to get full briefing about the BMF, Bank Negara forex and 1MDB scandals.
It is a pity that Salleh did not attend the Save Malaysia Roundtable in Damansara yesterday or he would have the benefit of DAP MP for PJ Utara, Tony Pua’s presentation on “1MDB – Kedudukan & Langkah Selanjutnya” and he would not have made the ludicrous claim that the 1MDB scandal was a minor scandal as compared to the BMF scandal. For many months, Malaysians going overseas have been faced with the embarrassing situation when asked which country they come from.
Once Malaysians had no problem in proudly identifying themselves as coming from Malaysia, but now they hesitate whether to answer the question as they would be confronted with embarrassing questions about Malaysia becoming a global kleptocracy, the infamous international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal involving the Prime Minister which have caused the closure of banks and imprisonment of bankers for money-laundering in other countries, MO1 and many other difficult questions.
Do we have a national strategy, involving the full support of the government, to counter Malaysia’s infamy and ignominy of being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy?
The silence and indifference of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, leaders of other Barisan Nasional parties, as well as the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang to the invitation to this Save Malaysia Roundtable is loudest answer to this question.

Four days ago, a Barisan Nasional leader issued a statement about “Disgusting, bankrupt Rasputins”, but it is obvious that this Barisan Nasional leader did not know what he was talking about.
But thanks to him, I thought of “Rasputin” in connection with the Federal Territories Minister, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s shocking proposal to make Penang a federal territory – which is not only undemocratic, unconstitutional but downright unMalaysian!
Tengku Adnan has not been his usual self since he made the startling proposal to extinguish Penang as one of the 13 states in Malaysia by making Penang a federal territory – which would mean no Penang state elections, no Penang State Assembly, no Penang State Executive Council and no Penang Chief Minister!
Adnan created “shock and awe” not only by making such a preposterous proposal, but in the stubborn and persistent manner he had been pushing for the idea in the past few days, as if his whole political career depended on its adoption and implementation.
Tengku Adnan made the proposal to make Penang a federal territory in an interview in conjunction with Federal Territories Day on Feb. 1.
When Adnan’s proposal encountered opposition and derision, he not only did not back off, but fortified his proposal by declaring the idea to make Penang a federal territory is to help the Malays, repeating the canard that the DAP-led Penang state government does not care about the Malays.
When Adnan came under further criticism for his misconceived views coloured by a most racialist mindset, the Federal Territories tried to salvage the situation and postured as a Malaysian leader by claiming that turning Penang into a federal territory can help make home ownership affordable to Penangites.
Quite remarkable political acrobatics for Adnan of “kapchai ban and no-ban” infamy, as Adnan is not known for agility or nimbleness. But now, he could perform political gymnastics in a matter of hours – giving Malaysians the right to ask who is the “master-mind” of the proposal to extinguish Penang as a state by making Penang a federal territory. We are celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Fire Rooster under the cloud of Malaysia regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy.

I endorse the call by the former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief, Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohaamed, that Malaysians must stand united against corruption, regardless of their political ideologies.
Speaking at a congregation at Masjid Al-Ikhlas in Shah Alam yesterday, Abu Kassim said that if corruption is used as the basis of politics, it will be difficult to resolve social issues.
More than anyone, Abu Kassim should know what he was talking about.
Abu Kassim became MACC Chief Commissioner on 1st January 2010 following the prolonged firestorm in a clear case of MACC political persecution resulting in the death of DAP aide Teoh Beng Hock, falling from the 13th floor of the MACC premises in Shah Alam on 16th July 2009, in a MACC investigation over allegations about impropriety in a RM2,400 purchase of flags for Merdeka Day celebrations by DAP State Executive Councillor, Ean Yong Hian Wah.
A Royal Commission of Inquiry in July 2011 found that Beng Hock had been “driven to commit suicide” due to interrogation by three MACC officers in a manner that was “aggressive, relentless, oppressive and unscrupulous” – which was nothing but a euphemism for murder.
To his credit, Abu Kassim tried his utmost as MACC Chief Commissioner to restore the professionalism and credibility of the MACC in his seven-and-a-half years as head of the anti-corruption agency, but he failed as the murderers of Teoh Beng Hock had yet to be brought to justice.

The first step to Save Malaysia from global kleptocracy is to end the “global pretence” that the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal had been resolved and ceased to be an issue.
This was what the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak had promised more than a year ago.
In his meeting with some 1,000 UMNO divisional leaders and selected representatives of NGOs on 14th June 2015, Najib gave an assurance that the controversy surrounding the state investment arm 1MDB will be resolved by year-end.
In his 2016 New Year message on 31st December 2015, Najib told Malaysians that his RM50 billion 1MDB and RM2.6 billion donation twin mega scandals had been resolved and were no more issues.
Najib could not be more wrong, as illustrated by the decision yesterday of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) ordering Coutts & Co., which is owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland, to surrender 6.5 million francs (RM29.1 million) in illegal profits from transactions linked to 1MDB. Swiss financial supervisor sanctions bank over lapses linked to Malaysian fund
Swiss authorities have accused Coutts, the private bank, of repeatedly ignoring internal warnings over its dealings with a businessman who has been linked to a plot to loot billions of dollars from 1MDB, the Malaysian state investment fund.
Numerous “high-risk” transactions were processed through a Coutts account opened by the Malaysian businessman in Zurich, including the use of $35m for visits to casinos and the purchase of luxury services such as chartering yachts, according to the Swiss inquiry.
Finma, the Swiss financial regulator, ordered Coutts to pay back profits of SFr6.5m, which were allegedly generated unlawfully. It is also considering enforcement proceedings against bank employees.

The Save Malaysia Roundtable of political and civil society leaders to save Malaysia from global kleptocracy and a failed and rogue state on Tunku’s 114th birthday anniversary in Kuala Lumpur next week is the best forum for the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his Cabinet to start the process to free Malaysia from the millstone of global kleptocracy.
This will make the Save Malaysia Roundtable doubly significant, not only on the occasion of the114th birthday anniversary of Bapa Malaysia, but to send out the clear message that the 2017 Chinese New Year of the Fire Rooster will be the only kleptocratic Chinese New Year in the history of Malaysia and that in the next year, the Chinese New Year and other national festivities would not be celebrated under a cloud of global kleptocracy!
Almost everybody is saying that it is impossible that Najib will attend the Save Malaysia Roundtable.
I agree that it appears to be quite inconceivable that Najib would attend the Save Malaysia Roundtable to save Malaysia from global kleptocracy and a failed and rogue state, as it would involve Najib’s preparedness – not seen up to now – to open up the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB kleptocratic money-laundering scandal to national and international scrutiny to prove that it is not a scandal at all, although the 1MDB scandal is making international waves and world headlines almost every other day.
The issue is whether Najib and his Cabinet are prepared to start the process to free Malaysia from the millstone of global kleptocracy, or whether they will go down in history as being responsible for Malaysia’s millstone of global kleptocracy and not prepared to do anything to remove such a millstone. The embattled premier’s cosmetic measures cannot conceal economic realities in the country.
The Malaysian economy has been put through the hoops. In spite of reassurances from the country’s beleaguered premier Najib Razak that the current economic turbulence is only a temporary affair caused by offshore factors, the evidence does point to the contrary.
Najib’s government knows this. It has side-stepped long-held promises to win Malaysia recognition as a developed country by 2020. And it has announced a string of statements and measures designed to either distract from these economic realities or aim to address them.
One revenue-raising initiative announced was charging Thai vehicles a fee for simply crossing their land border. That move has angered the Thai transport ministry which is now mulling a reciprocal tax. Read the rest of this entry »

It is now more than 58 hours since US President Trump, at 4.42 pm Friday Washington time, with a stroke of a pen signed the cruel and inhumane Executive Order against refugees and immigrants, creating world-wide turmoil and reverberations, with chaos and confusion in US airports and capital cities all over the world.
What is disturbing is that the Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his government are not part of this global outrage at the inhumanity and insensitivity of Trump’s executive order.
It cannot be that Najib and the Malaysian Foreign Ministry had been overtaken by complete surprise by such an executive order, as Trump had in fact been talking about such an inhumane measure since the GOP primary campaign last year, and Trump’s executive order against refugees and immigrants had in fact been leaked to the media several days before Trump signed the executive order.
Najib cannot blame anyone for asking why he acted with such alacrity when he lashed out at Myanmar and Aung San Suu Kyi on the Rohingya issue but is so tame and tardy when the Muslim world is revolted and outraged by Trump’s executive order against refugees and the 130 million people from seven Muslim-majority countries, viz: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen.
As a sign of growing political intimacy and collaboration between Najib and the PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, there is also conspicuous silence from the PAS leadership on Trump’s cruel and inhumane executive, completely out of character of PAS leadership which would have been the first to denounce Trump’s executive order.
Is this a sign of growing maturity and responsibility of the Hadi PAS leadership or just of closer political collaboration with Najib’s UMNO leadership? Read the rest of this entry »

Transparency International has released its latest rankings of corruption around the world and, as ever, there is little to cheer about in the Middle East, with five of the world’s ten most corrupt countries coming from the region.
The worst performer is Syria, which is ranked 173rd out of 176 countries, followed by Yemen, Sudan, Libya and Iraq. It is no coincidence that all of these countries are poor and war-ravaged, but even in the wealthier and more peaceful corners of the region the problem of corruption is generally getting worse rather than better. Indonesia has spoken. The Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has said that Indonesia, which has the world’s largest Muslim population, deeply regrets US President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban more than 130 million people from seven countries from the United States and to deny entry to all refugees.
Why is Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who mooted the proposal for a global movement of moderates, still silent about Trump’s executive order which had caused world-wide reverberations, with chaos and confusion in US airports and capital cities all over the world.
Trump’s seismic ban was enacted with a stroke of a pen at 4.42 pm Friday Washington time. More than 38 hours have elapsed, as it is now past 6.42 a.m. Sunday Washington time. Why is Najib still keep silent?

Wednesday, February 8, 2017 is the 114th birthday anniversary of Tunku Abdul Rahman, Bapa Malaysia and the first Prime Minister of the country.
I believe Tunku would be horrified that Malaysia has become a global kleptocracy and heading towards a failed and rogue state.
In fact, the second and third Prime Ministers, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein, would have been horrified by the trajectory of the nation under the sixth Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The fourth Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir, one of the two surviving former Prime Ministers, has already made his horror about Malaysia becoming a global kleptocracy and hurtling towards a failed and rogue state clear and obvious to all Malaysians.
I think there can be no better way to commemorate Tunku’s 114th birthday anniversary than to convene a roundtable of political and civil society leaders to save Malaysia from a global kleptocracy and a failed and rogue state.

We should stay focused on the big picture and, instead of harping on past problems, be more realistic and practical about issues such as racism, graft, and massive development projects.
There are just too many incongruous arguments going on in Malaysia today. I consider all these deliberate distractions and diversions from the more fundamental problems confronting us.
The first distraction is the assertion that Lim Kit Siang will become deputy prime minister should the opposition take federal power. There is nothing wrong in Lim Kit Siang becoming DPM if the situation warrants it. Why would the race of a person become an issue unless it is the embedded racism being voiced? Has racism become so entrenched in Malaysia today that even the racists are not consciously aware of their own behaviour?

Chinese New Year Message

The Chinese New Year of the Rooster in 2017, like all the national festivities in the country, will be celebrated under the cloud of Malaysia as a global kleptocracy.
The appellation of “global kleptocracy” is a stain and slur on the reputation and integrity of Malaysia and 30 million Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, gender or age, and it must be the common resolve of all self-respecting and patriotic Malaysians in the coming year to purge and cleanse Malaysia of the ignominy and infamy of being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy.
I wish all Malaysians, and just not confined to Malaysian Chinese, a Happy Chinese New Year with the resolution that 2017 is the only kleptocratic Chinese New Year in the history of Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »
