The six state polls on August 12 will be a strong indicator of things to come in Malaysia — whether the nation will continue in the path of reform, to reset and return to the original nation-building principles of plural Malaysia that the nation’s founding fathers (which included the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak Hussein and Hussein Onn) have written into the Malaysian Constitution and Rukun Negara or whether our future is that of a divided, failed, and corrupt state in the coming decades.
