Attorney-General’s decision to discontinue proceedings against the 12 persons on LTTE links most welcome

The decision of the Attorney-General Tommy Thomas to discontinue prosecution proceedings against the twelve persons for alleged links to the Liberation Tigers of Eelam (LTTE) with immediate effect is most welcome.

I look forward to the release of Negri Sembilan State Assemblyman for Seremban Jaya P. Gunasekaran, Malacca State Exco and State Assemblyman for Gadek G. Saminathan and other DAP members among the twelve as free men.

While welcoming the release of the Gunasekaran, Saminathan and others, DAP reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in any form and reaffirms it commitment to effect political change through peaceful, non-violent and democratic means and to eschew any resort to any violence or any form of terrorism.

Yes. This is way overdue. This should have been done last year. Anyway, better late than never. In line with this, can we convince Home Minster to de-gazette that clause that label LTTE as terrorist when they have been defunk for last 20 years? Also the Law Minister to table repeal of SOSMA. This must all go together. Please do these before AG/TT is replace come May 2020.
The other most important matter is Harapan Presidential Council meeting last night. Severe disappointment. TDM gets his way. That is bad for Harapan, and bad for Malaysia. He will use the remaining months to further wreck the Malaysian economy, make enemies of friends and try and get rid of Rocket and DSAI. Just you watch. AG/TT term expires in May. Sodomy 3.0 is not beyond evil TDM. Pakatan National is also not beyond TDM. How can you all ( unanimous it seems ) allow him to decide and to stay? That is a severe betrayal of trust. We shall pay heavily in GE 15.

The aftereffect of the AG’s move shows our country is becoming
more racial than working towards the truth. The home minister disagreed and the opposition members seem to be on the side of the race rather than the reading of the law.We have to get rid of the draconian laws and curb the powers of the home minister which were in tune during the rule of Umno.Time has changed and the even the kampong voters have learnt how to discern the truth from spin stories. The people are aware of how politicians and even the top civil sevants have become looters. We have to make the politicians the servants of the people and make them realise what they should and what they should not do.It is time politicians should be asked to step down if they make the wrong move against the common people which will enrich them. The government should not support the Sri Lankan government where the Umno warlords have vested interest. These arrested were punished for the act of stupidity of the elected members.

Are we kidding? Azmin and Mahathir just decided their personal ambition is above and beyond that of what was promised to the people of this country, Malaysia nothing more than feudal playground of Malay political elites that will ultimately destroy this country in racial and religo conflicts and they continue to spout this nonsense about reform, progress and religiosity?

I wish people will stop saying what Mahathir and Azmin doing as “smart” or “good”. It’s not. In fact it’s pretty bad. It’s abusive. It’s wrong. It’s short term greed and it will destroy us all ultimately.

What is “smart” is if Mahathir and Anwar found a way to turn the tables and keep PH in power. Otherwise it’s just abuse of power and trust and they are so proud of themselves
