I discovered today another evil and lunatic example in the recent upsurge of fake news and hate speech to incite inter-racial and inter-religious polarisation and confrontation and why the government must take immediate action against such dangerous trash.
The following post on the social media accused the DAP as the real organiser of the Malay Dignity Congress, making use of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Bersatu.
Under the heading “KONGRES MARUAH MELAYU AGENDA POLITIK TERDESAK DAP MELALUI PPBM – MELAYU JANGAN TERJERAT”, it said among other things:
There was no such Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council discussion or decision in July which is pure lie woven from whole cloth. Yet the fake news/hate speech on this social media hinged on such a lie.
If such fake news and hate speech to generate doubt, suspicion, alarm and hate among the races so as incite inter-racial and inter-religious polarisation are not halted, Malaysia is heading towards very troubled times marked by division, strife and conflict among the diverse races and religions in the country, and Malaysia can forget about any vision to be a top world-class nation of unity, justice, freedom, excellence and integrity or to be a showcase to the world as a success story of the Alliance of Civilisations and not a basket case of failure from a Clash of Civilisations.

What is exactly Sdr. Lim’s point in all of these – the Malay “Dignity” Congress, Mahathir and Hadi Awang participation and in reality also UMNO but not Anwar?
Like it or not, the crux of the problem really is Malay leadership, political leadership in particular but worst its disporportionate role, especially religo-poltics in Malay lives?
Even worst, Mahathir continue his pioneering of Malay leader’s hypocrisy by denying he heard the main organiser threat to break the mythical “social contract” if the non-Malays do not accept that Malaysia belong to the Malay..
The issue is Malay political leadership hypocrisy. EVERY ranting Malay politicians are hypocrites, now adding religion to new heights, has always and continue to sensationalise myth that promotes division and hate instead of having real original contribution to lead their people..

Fake news gathers strength because Malaysians do not trust their leaders anymore. The opposition is merely fishing in troubled waters. We, especially Tun Mahatir, have given the initiative over to the opposition fake-news peddlers because we are, ourselves, mendacious in the things we say.
