It’s the supreme insult – if not felt by UMNO national leaders, whether former UMNO Ministers, former or present UMNO MPs, but definitely by the overwhelming majority of the UMNO State, Division and Branch leaders and its over three million UMNO members.
Never before had any PAS leader been able to deliver such a supreme insult to UMNO in the past 67 years since the formation of PAS in 1951, when all PAS could do was to play a very marginal role as compared to UMNO.
For instance, the recent 14th General Election was not PAS’ greatest electoral moment, for Hadi had led PAS to a trajectory of decline and his best electoral performances for parliamentary results in the 2004, 2008, 2013 and 2018 General Elections were a far cry from the results achieved by PAS under the previous PAS President, Fadzil Noor in the 1999 General Election.
UMNO always had many times more than PAS in terms of parliamentary representation – in fact, in the 1986 GE, UMNO had 83 MPs while PAS had only one MP; while in 2004 GE UMNO had 109 MPs as compared to seven from PAS.
But today, the upheavals and implosion in UMNO might result in UMNO having as many MPs as PAS, or worse, even having lesser MPs than PAS for the first time in six decades
This the backdrop where the PAS Vice President Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah could deliver the supreme insult of calling on UMNO to dissolve and for its members to join PAS – something completely unthinkable in the past 67 years.
But this situation is completely the making of UMNO leaders particularly for their shameful betrayal of the nation and the founders of UMNO by their blind endorsement of the kleptocracy of the former Prime Minister and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and in particular, the monstrous 1MDB corruption and money-laundering scandal.
The lack of remorse, repentance and contrition for their betrayal of the nation and UMNO’s founding fathers with their blind support for Najib’s kleptocracy and 1MDB scandal, however, pales into insignificance with the proposal by an UMNO Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam that Najib should be Acting UMNO President and Acting Parliamentary Leader while Zahid Hamidi takes “garden leave”.
The logic behind Adam’s proposal is unfathomable, but it demonstrates how lowly UMNO has fallen, how cut-off are the UMNO bigwigs from the grassroots, and there is no better confirmation that UMNO deserves the “supreme insult” from PAS.
May be Adam is right, as his proposal is the surest way to ensure that UMNO is written off, once and for all.

Never in a thousand dreams could we have dreamed that in Malaysian history since 1957, that DUMNO will disintegrate and PAS will be stronger than DUMNO. Who have ever dream that GE 14 will see PAS become the opposition leader and DUMNO reduced to rubble. But that is their business. We have to navigate and mind Harapan business. At the moment, Harapan is not doing too well too. We would have imagine that after 7 months, the man in the street have still not seen signs of the new Malaysia promised. In fact the opposite is truer. Ahmad, Ah Chong and Maniam in the streets see the same old racial rhetoric and the growing evidence of DUMNO 2.0 in the very party that they place their hopes on, for a policy to be based on needs and not on race. The racial element is growing stronger in Harapan day by day. As one race ( in fact with the fewest MPs at the moment ) brandish their brand of red shirts, those in blue, white and red and orange retreat. With each retreat, the Reds get more daring. When will the Presidential Council speak up, and put a stop to all these racism. Have we forgotten that in GE 14, Harapan had only 30% support from the Malays and almost 90% support from non Malays. Have the Presidential Council ever felt that the non Malays MUST NOT be ignored, even as they chase Malay support. It should never be either or, but both together. Should the non Malays desert Harapan and Harapan has 30% Malays support, GE 15 will be lost. Even as we see PAS getting stronger than DUMNO, we also do not wish to see Harapan becoming DUMNO 2.0. Please do not ever forget where your strength lies, Harapan and DAP. Never take the wise populace for granted. Whatever is given can also be taken away. Tun and Bersatu is a toxic brew. handle with care. Better still, either detoxify it or throw it away. Failing which, have nothing to do with them, and plot your own future for New Malaysia.

Fundamentally, how goes UMNO, that will also how PAS will go albeit slower.. People keep forgetting that before Nik Aziz took PAS into Pakatan Rakyat, PAS also was in also in a state of decline.
Look at the Republican party in the US, instead of focussing on fundamental of their founders they lost their ways and reduced to fear mongering and culture war due to political expediency..
UMNO lost its way because of political expediency. PAS is now increasingly also pandering to political expediency in race and religo issue.
So long as PH deliver economically, socially. It should still stay in power even if it makes mistakes. The political losses PH can afford is only as far as combined UMNO-PAS is also losing but at some point, they have not much to lose and so PH cannot lose any more. Right now. PH is losing more political capital than PAS is, it must stop losing..
