Utusan Malaysia is not the Malay voice but the voice of Muhyiddin against Najib

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has sprung to the quick defence of Utusan Malaysia, the Umno official organ and the national daily which enjoys “unlawful” immunity and impunity for blatant offences whether against the Printing Presses and Publications Act, the Sedition Act or other laws in the land.

In response to public condemnation of Utusan’s incessant stoking of communal hatred and tensions, the latest being its call for a “1Melayu, 1Bumi” movement, Muhyiddin declared that Utusan Malaysia is the “voice and desire of the Malay community and also Malaysians in general”.

Muhyiddin is a picture of total absurdity in claiming that Utusan Malaysia is the “voice and desire” of Malaysians in general, when it does not even qualify to be the voice of the Malays.

No wonder that early this year the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) president Hata Wahari – himself a senior Utusan journalist until victimized and purged by the Umno official organ – blamed Utusan Malaysia editors for their “racial rhetoric” and “fanning racial sentiments” as causing the daily’s declining sale.

As a result, Utusan Malaysia nose-dived from one of the nation’s top circulation papers to a disreputable rag, falling from a height of a daily circulation of 350,000 to less than half the numbers – as Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) figures for the full year ended June 30, 2010 showed its circulation had dropped to 170,558 as compared to 181,346 the previous year.

The Utusan Malaysia editors are a disgrace to the profession of journalists and doing the Malay race and Malaysian nation a great disservice in continually, quoting Hata Wahari, “playing up racial issues and creating discord among the people of various races”.

If the police, the Attorney-General’s Chambers and the judiciary are efficient, independent and professional institutions to uphold the rule of law without fear or favour, Utusan Malaysia editors would have no time to edit the Umno daily but would be trudging up and down the court houses over a mountain of criminal charges round-the-year!

The Utusan Malaysia is not the voice of the Malays as right-thinking and rational Malays like right-thinking and rational Malaysians have been migrating away from Utusan Malaysia particularly to online media.

But what should really cause consternation is that Utusan Malaysia is at best the voice of Muhyiddin particularly at odds with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

How can Muhyiddin give endorsement to Utusan Malaysia’s call for “1Melayu, 1Bumi” when it is clearly an open affront and repudiation of Najib’s 1Malaysia signature policy?

Or is Najib Prime Minister for 1Malaysia while Muhyiddin is Deputy Prime Minister for 1Melayu?

Is Najib’s 1Malaysia only meant for non-Malays while Muhyiddin’s 1Melayu reserved for Malays?

After his open repudiation of Najib’s signature policy with his declaration “I am Malay first, Malaysia second” declaration last March, Muhyiddin’s open endorsement of Utusan’s “1Melayu, 1Bumi” call is Muhyiddin’s second unkind cut against Najib –
another open defiance and challenge of Najib’s authority and legitimacy as Prime Minister.

Dare Najib slap down Muhyiddin and force him into line to loyally support the 1Malaysia concept?

Is the Barisan Nasional Cabinet prepared to resolve this conflict and contradiction between Najib and Muhyiddin at Wednesday’s cabinet meeting this week, or will all the Cabinet Ministers from Umno, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SUPP and the other Sarawak and Sabah component parties dig their heads deeper into the sand to pretend that they are not aware of such open policy conflict between the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister – between 1Malaysia and 1Melayu?

History has shown that BN’s “divide and rule” tactic has helped the party to cling on to power for decades (this fact is well-acknowledged by political analysts). If Muhyiddin does not go against Najib, how can the “divide and rule” tactic be accomplished?

In the long run, the country and people will suffer under such tactic but BN will reap the benefit.

It is so easy for this Melayu First UMNO DPM to threaten Eunuch MCA…matter of fact MCA if they have marbles, shoud take one step further and demand the Home Minister slap the Sedition law ISA on the writer who made the racist comments. Let see how MCA will respond to this racist jerk!

This DPM statement, is either totally irresponsible or totally arrogant. This is exactly why we need to change the tenant at Putrajay. He totally disregards us, in his animosity to Najib to be one up. Of course spineless Najib is powerless to silence him. So we are doomed with this brand of UMNO politics.
Kit, you are completely right. Moulyou-din is fighting Najib and we are being kicked.
Friends, it is time to change the tenant at Putrajaya

I’m not a bit surprised that Moohidin supports Utusan’s racist articles knowing that he is not an intelligent person. Anyway, we cannot blame him for making nonsensical statements as he wants to make some noise… even if it comes out ridiculous. Definitely not a PM material but alas, for UMNO, it is the best that they have.

Jibby and Moo pintar main wayang kulit. I can see two scenarios here:-

    1. Both of them (thro dUMNO) are intent to deliver to (Malay)sians the “transformation” that they touted for. They 1st created 1Malaysia (and it’s Jibby’s job to sell it to the Rakyat) and over time, they water it down and transform the 1Malaysia rhetoric to 1Melayu (which PM delegated the job to Moo to sell to the Malays. With this transformation, Malays are happy and Chinese are happy too, semua go happy hour. That’s why dUMNO tells the Rakyat why UBAH when BeEnd can TRANSFORM.

    2. By doing so, both Jibby and Moo fulfill two sides of the coin, with the Chinese (and Indians as well as the dll) patting Jibby’s back as the good guy (1Malaysia) and Moo the bad guy (1Melayu) whereas to the Melayus, Moo is seen as the good guy and Jibby the best PM.

With such plan, Jibby and Moo hopes to break the RAHMAN prophecy and dUMNO gets to rule another 50 years.

    1. What do you expect the hapless cabinet members to do? They are there not representing anybody but to collect perks for themselves, period. So nothing will be discussed in the cabinet for sure.
    2. 1Melayu 1Bumi and I Malaysia are not in contradiction. It is a dual track strategy; good cop bad cop strategy that was used and reused since Tunku’s time when Singapore was part of Malaysia. 1Melayu is for right wing Melayu while 1Malaysia is for nincompoops. It remains to be seen whether right wings Melayu and nincompoops are majority in this country.

  13. #13 by tak tahan on Monday, 25 April 2011 - 9:56 pm

While Moo is playing the bad cop,he is thinking to himself ”to be the next good cop”.So outcome Jibby with no either cop.
Let them play the fire among themselves and at the same time the younger generation could see for themselves what a nincompoop the supposedly no 1 and 2 man could be.That’s is when the younger generation with the old ones together will boot them out by votes come GE.
The most crackpot government i have ever heard of..aiyoh..Hallo,i think they belong to the ministry of darkness.Open the door to the justice light to lighten up the darkness.

It is quite obvious that Utusan is backed by Moo by the way he is reacting to the MCA boycott call. Does MCA have the courage to quit BN and being a political eunuch to UMNO? I don’t think so as MCA politicians still need UMNO to milk the country.

It smells like, looks like and really is an intifada Muhyiddin is planning for Najib.

Looks like Najib is being squeezed in his vas deferens as Muhyiddin and Mahathir tugs at his scrot#um.

Maybe, Muhyiddin/Mahathir, this 2M, is preparing Najib for the abattoir. Moo………….

Many Malays are not reading Utusan Malaysia these days, preferring the cyber online news instead. The paper has lost its direction completely. It is bent on a suicidal mission and will probably die a natural death once circulation drops below the threshold level. As for Muhyiddin, he’ll have to publish his own papers after that to push his cause for 1Malay 1Bumi agenda.

My own believe is that Najib do not believe in much, so I would not say its Muhiyiddin voice against Najib. I think here is the bigger issue is how unintelligent is Najib to believe he can let such things be said without he making clear where he and his administration stand.

The PM of this country has overwhelming power of his office few chief executives gets. Such privillege comes with equally high responsibilities. The PM of a country job if first and foremost TO LEAD, not to make excuses and fake PR campaigns. Najib seem to think the privillege he has of his office is for his indulgence and making never-ending excuses i his privillege. He is showing every bit the prodigal child he is suspected to be.

Najib is the end of “RAHMAN”
and…the legacy is split off by the “MAN” from
“RAH”….and only a Devil can do that.
Since “MAN” consists of three Devils.

Now you now why ex Judge Ian said…Mahathir is the Devil Reincarnated.

I keep seeing this stupid scene in the local papers. Every time a group pic of some mca idiots was snapped for the press those idiots would inevitably hold up their respective forefinger (to signify the famous jibby hollow slogan).

Actually, I dont think I hv seen that many umno idiots doing that. As a matter of fact I dont think I hv seen any except maybe on in a while with jibby jib holding up his finger in a sheepish manner. I think it is not common for umno people to hold up their forefingers. They must have found the slogan disgusting or embarassing or even stupid.

So here is a classic case of jib throwing a line with hook and sinker and mca taking all of it in.

Are we seeing a fine display of a Urban Melayu mentality and the other a Kampong Melayu mentality?…both trying to outdo each other to justify UMNO survival as a racist political party!

At least now the no-balls MCA knows that in the corridors of power, they are several rungs lower than mickey-mouse Perkasa. Real shame this. From being a key player in the struggle for independence (Tan Cheng Lok, et al), the MCA has now descended into a bunch of self-serving powerless corrupt jesters in the court of Najib Razak, and now having to endure endless threats and insults from all the Malay-firsters, including Muhyiddin Yassin and assorted Perkasa goons and hoodlums.

Don’t bother about trying to get support from the Chinese. The few of you left who are still in Parliament are there courtesy of the Umno-sponsored Malay votes. Your real ‘tuan’ in Umno will pull the carpet under you.

So MCA (and for that mattter, MIC, Gerakan, SUPP), please go and hide – without Umno’s support, you are nobody. Only some of the dumb Chinese don’t understand this. The rest of us will be pleased if you just disappear.
Meanwhile, PM should watch his back before he got plug real good by his deputy.
