Saya Melayu

The problems we now face does not only concern Perak, Kelantan, Penang and Selangor but the whole country. It does not only concern the Malays, the Chinese, the Indians but everybody who are Malaysians. It is not a concern for today, tomorrow, next week or next year but a concern for not only today but more important, of the future. The errors we make, the foundations we build and all that we do now will be there for posterity – to be judged by those that come after us. If we are not there to hear the verdict, our children will.

While the individual leaders within Pakatan Rakyat have long been in Politics their ability to govern and govern well is yet to be tested. But time favours them.

Time does not favor UMNO. The years of UMNO rule, while all not bad, has brought into question whether more of the same excesses are to prevail in the years to come?

“If Umno fails, the Malays fail and if the Malays fail the nation will also fail, this we cannot avoid (if it happens),” Mahyiddin.

The Malays have not failed UMNO !! Have you not won every General Election since the first one in 1959 – and winning all, bar the 1969 and 2008 elections, with two thirds majority everytime? Enough to do what you want in Parliment? Pass any law? Amend any exisisting one? No effective opposition to question your plundering and pillaging of the Nation’s treasures? Is that not enough time to champion the cause of the Malays or were you too busy championing your own self? From the Mata Mata who was robbing the poor taxi drivers of their hard earned daily earnings to our Prime Ministers whose family, relatives, drivers even bodyguards – robbed us blind !!

And now after winning 12 General election like Oliver Twist you say “ Please Sir, Can I have some more?” No you will not.

As a Malay I had wanted UMNO to represent the Malay interest. Not UMNO’s interest.

As a Malay I see no harm that the Chinese or the Indian can cause me. Do not tell me that the Chinese and Indians can be a danger to me because they are a danger to UMNO.

As a Malay I do not have a quarrel with DAP, Keadilan or PAS. Let them be and not make them my enemy because they are UMNO’s enemies.

As a Malay I see the richness that comes with the NEP being claimed by UMNO whereas it rightly belong to all Malays.

The Chinese, Indians and the others are not the nemesis of the Malays. They are citizens of Malaysia as the Malays are citizens of Malaysia. They never were or will ever be the enemies of the Malays. If the Malays are too polite then they are that because that’s the way we are. If the Chinese are good at business – then it is because they have had many years of doing just that. Was it not a Chinese who said “To grow rich is glorious!!” What a wonderful sentiment! If the Indians are having their own problems trying to keep up with the others then maybe they should choose better leaders to lead them.

But these are sweeping statements to illustrate the great divide that could be exploited by mischievous politicians for their own advantage. But it will not happen now because of The Times They are A Changing…

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside
And it is ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

Bob Dylan.

Everything that is right and reasonable points to the fact that the Malays in UMNO are men with vested interest and are not to be trusted. We cannot allow men in whom we have no trust to be in power. Let it not be said that the Malays do not have the resolve to effect change.

WE ARE DONE WITH UMNO.

I am truly and conscientiously persuaded that it is in the interest of the Malays and our country for us to do so. For, as Milton said, “never can true reconcilement grow where wounds of deadly hate have pierced so deep.”

What will now happen to UMNO? Ruin…it will be in ruins. The time for reconciliation between the Malays and UMNO is past. Hidup Pakatan Rakyat. Hidup PAS. Hidup Keadilan. Hidup DAP. As UMNO says:

” BERSAMA KITA TEGUH, BERCERAI KITA ROBOH! (UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!)

MERDEKA.

The mind of the Malay is warped, distorted, and archived into a realm of fear of itself and of others.

The fact of the matter that UMNO has become an insult to the Malays. The idea that the Malays cannot lead an alternative govt i.e., that they have no alternative other than UMNO is an insult to the race. The fact is its part of UMNO’s being to look down on their own race, its simply part of their ways. No political party is everything to a country or a race. Its simply unnatural because political parties like companies or individual are NOT fully accountable to stakeholders of the country, the people and have to be subjected to the forces of competition and laws..

It has come down to the for the sake of the country, the Malay race and other races, and even for UMNO/BN too, that UMNO/BN has to go. Its simply a matter of people taking back what belong to them and making their leaders accountable to them..

You are what you are when you consume solid foods.

You are what you are when you consume religious things.

    So where/what are you?

If I write on, it would be another Ooi, but let face it in JIM – as what is really JIM? Denial does not solve the crisis at cross road.

Saya Anak Malaysia. Anak-anak saya juga Anak Malaysia. Walaupun saya bukan Melayu hak saya sebagai warganegara Malaysia adalah sama dengan hak Melayu yang juga warganegara Malaysia dan sepatutnya tidak berbeza.

And the difference that we are reminded daily and whenever it suits the champions of Malay interests is ‘Malay Rights.’ So, we have in essence Malaysians more equal than others. And in so doing through an institutionalised system of discrimation that accords one group more rights than others even as we are all Malaysians, we are automatically also legitimising the creation of Malays who are more equal than other Malays. We Malaysians have jointly created an elitist group within the malay community who are in themselves more equal than the rest of us non-Malay Malaysians. And we are told in no uncertain terms, ‘shut up already, that’s our privilege.’

To Hussein Hamid, thank you for your message…but unless all Malays reject UMNO now, the curent value system, the instruments in the system, the continued handouts (one or two of which now include all Malaysians) reserved for Malays only, the current deepening of the wedge between the races will ensure that UMNO becomes stronger. We can see all the signs of UMNO laying the foundation for a charge to re-take everything they have deemed for the last 51 years to be their god-given rights.

HIDUP PAKATAN RAKYAT! But PR must be for all Malaysians. If it is pushed by Malays to champion only Malay interests, it will just be another UMNO.

And then, for the next 50 years we will again live in the political wilderness of racist politics, communal segregation and outright racism…under the guise of Bumiputra rights.

It was Mahathir that gave Malays a disease called dilemma, the MCA Chinese and other non-Malay leaders in BN simply help UMNO to prolong it.

Maybe we can’t blame it all on MM.
Many were willing to go along with his mega-projects that brought millions to the BN cronies.

If I have to recalled the fond memories of malays of yesteryears, I found them friendly, likeable and hospitable. Sadly, if one takes the UMNO malays as a measure of who the malays are today, they simply are arrogant, greedy and unislamic lot!
Their mindset is to get into the fast lane and bloat their wallets by using UMNO as a vehicle to richnes…thus, they are muslim pretenders living like maggots in a s#ithole.

Malays are not that stupid! They learn early that the non-Malays see this as an opportunity that comes once in a lifetime i.e. to break their hold over politics and the economy.

Umno has grown into a cult that’s consumed by greed and corruption. Over the years its members have plundered and abused the true rakyat, be they Malay, Chinese, Indian or other creeds. They only care for themselves, lining their own pockets. Since they hold power, they have at their disposal, all the instruments of state to make hay while their Umno sun shines. And like Oliver Twist, they still want more of the goodies.

To say they are fighting for the Malays is the biggest lie ever perpetuated by their warlords.

Their propaganda machinery in the form of Utusan Melayu and now Berita Harian and New Straits Times are doing the dirty work of spinning information that injects more fear into honest Malays that they are now under siege.

It’s almost the same game plan as was perpetuated by the Nazis. Thank heaven for the Internet that we now have a choice to find out for ourselves the information that we are deprived of by the Umno newspapers.

More and more Malays are beginning to see through the perfidy of Umno. Yes, the times they are a-changing.

In fact. it’s Umno that feels it’s under siege and that’s why they are trying all kinds of underhand tactics to turn the tide. Their agents are work in Perak, Penang, Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan. They are building Trojan horses and activating moles and so on to continue their hegemony over the rest of us.

Any attack on a people based on their race is villification and unjust. In many civilised countries it is an offence which carries penalites which include custodial sentences for such offences. Yet we are witness to one such comment at least on this site.

The attacks on UMNO as a political entity is justified as a form of legitimate expression or political comment.

It is not so when one crosses that line and attacks Malays with the use of phrases and terms such as the one that appears here that “the mind of the Malay is warped”.

It reminds me of the NH Chan analysis of the Perak Constitutional debate I have been compelled to analyse from Chan’s own material and to come out with a contradictor.

It is important that we balance our arguments rather than to raise such absolutist propositions that Chan and some contributors here tend towards.

Such self centred propositions do not provide for balance and is dangerous in such as tinder box environment Malaysia is gradually developing into.
