Najib wants Selangor, badly

MARCH 16 — There is a reason why Najib Razak is going to Selangor nearly every week: Getting back the country’s richest state is the minimum passing mark he has set himself in the coming elections.

Umno insiders say that Najib and his strategists do not believe Barisan Nasional (BN) can regain its two-thirds control of Parliament, but think that winning back Selangor will assuage Umno members and prevent a coup attempt against him.

And that is why Najib is using money like water in Selangor and spending nearly every weekend in some district there. And that is also why Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has reason to be worried about the sudden increase in the number of voters in constituencies in the state.

As it stands, Najib is confident that he will still be the prime minister and that he will do slightly better than Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. But not everyone in Umno believes that Najib’s advisors are giving him the right information, with some betting that anything between six and 10 parliamentary seats will fall in Sarawak, and that a good number of seats in Johor will also be lost.

On the flip side, Umno is confident that Kelantan will be retaken and Perak will stay with BN. Najib is due to visit Perak tomorrow and meet folks in Beruas and Ipoh, among other places, to convince them that his coalition is the best for the state.

But it is Selangor where Najib knows his fortunes lie. If the state remains with PR, Najib will have to look over his shoulders. A few days ago, he told the Selangor poor that they have to vote BN for poverty-eradication programmes to continue. Funny, where were these programmes in all the years that BN kept Selangor?

This is why you’ll see many reports of illegal sand excavations in Selangor. The newspapers are involved in making PR look as bad as possible. There will be cases of water problems, uncollected garbage and even social issues that will be blamed on Khalid Ibrahim and his cohorts.

All this for Najib and BN to look like saviours. Because Najib needs to win the country’s richest state and ensure PR will not use the wealth to expand their influence.

So Najib needs to sell himself and be seen with the people. As it is, there is a huge debate over who will be BN’s choice for a mentri besar if it retakes the state. Najib knows the history of most Selangor mentris besar. Even the most inexperienced unknown made sure he extracted more than sand from the state’s highest political and executive office.

Najib will keep visiting Selangor until its Election Day. And election day is when he is sure he can win back Selangor. It could be soon unless PR bucks up in their first term and do what they have promised.

This prime minister wants to win Selangor so badly and he might get it back unless the people remain vigilant.

Najib’s greatest stumbling block is lack of political will to reform. Being a wealthy state, not everybody in Selangor is after RM500. I believe many in Selangor (esp non-Malay businessmen) are longing for true reform. Najib’s own prediction, “If we do not reform, they will reform us”, may come true in GE13 – at least in wealthy Selangor.

It’s “you help me..I help you” over and over again.
Take the money. It’s Malaysian money…not from his personal account…and vote for change….period.
Notice after 12th GE..Malaysians are getting so many goodies…..besides threats and provocations?
    Every ideas are applied.

    GET IT CLEAR!!
If UMNO b and Najib.. cannot treat his own race..the Malays equally..how do you expect him to treat other races equally?

    Najib want Selangor…want Penang..want Kelantan..want Perak..want Kedah…etc etc etc.
    In fact he wants all.
Positive thinking realistically will produce positive results.
Positive thinking out of acting…is a dream.
    Check his moments…and actions.
Are they from a confident positive thinking man?

Honestly while things are going well for Najib & UMNO-Perkasa/BN in regaining Selangor, their advantages in a ‘cheat & buy’ election is just so much more.

There are not that many options available to PR. The danger is PR is under the delusion that its their work in running the state better is enough. Like it or not that is the reality of politics particularly Malaysian. PR advantage is still internet and social network and urbanisation more than anything else – these trend even inclusive of their good work can be checked in a ‘cheat & lie’ election.

If there are guarantee of PR doing better, it need to raise the sensationalism a notch higher particularly with the Malays and Indian votes.

PR Selangor need to drum the message of how much money they have saved/recovered during the last 4 years and ask Selangorian – do they want the likes of Noh Omar, Hasan Ali, Zukilfi Noordin, Ezam stealing their money and putting it in their pockets? – Because a vote for UMNO-Perkasa/BN is a vote for that..

The other possibly attack is to let them know more votes for UMNO-Perkasa/BN makes their vote meaningless by cheating – drum the fact that they are stealing their right to decide even BEFORE the election. A vote for UMNO-Perkasa/BN is a vote for cheating. Whereas a vote against them is telling them not to steal what is their right..

BBC: “Licence to Kill: When governments choose to assassinate.”

Yikes. Was Altantuya’s murder state=sponsored? How else can u explain missing immigration records, 2 police ‘bombers’ with no motive, VIPs communications with razak baginda & a hysterical Mrs screamin ‘razak doesn’t want to be PM?

Only God knows. And God must tell the truth….in His time.

Wanting is one thing but getting it is a totally different matter altogether. Man’s wants (greed) is unlimited whereas his ability and capacity to even grab it is a big question mark.

Najib has been known for his rapacious behaviour when he is denied any of his wants. Perak is an excellent example. When he was denied Perak during the elections, he just grabbed it covertly using questionable means.

Now that Najib has set his eyes on Selangor, PR should be ever vigilant to deny him what he yearns most. The only way is to ensure a transparent, accountable and people centric government. PR should endeavour to get a clean two-thirds majority which would thwart a coup d’ etat using frogs.

Najib can’t be sure of getting the votes of ALL UMNO members in Selangor. The well-informed and educated Malays know his indecisive, flip-flop governance and extravagant life style. They would not want to vote for a corrupted and arrogant UMNO government in Selangor.

MCA and MIC would be completely decimated because of their track record of conniving and condoning UMNO’s racist and hagemonic dictatorial rule.

Najib can dish out goodies as and when he feels like it but the people are not fooled. It is their money (taxpayers) that is being generously given out. Not money from Najib’s kitty. He even robs the people for his birthday bash and that of his daughter’s engagement function.

He turns a blind eye to all the financial scandals in the country. He even approves of the CBT committed in the NFC scandal. He exonerates a guilty party as sacrificing her position even though he knows her time was already up. He can hoodwink the poor, uneducated and brainwashed rural folk but not the educated ones in this internet-savvy era.

Well, Aah Jib Gor dream on. It is going to turn into a nightmare.

Maybe he wants Selangor back badly because he wants to put up his Taj Mahal for Altantunya at Puncak Alam….

Khalid should just put up a memorial there to remember Najib’s and Rosmah’s contribution to the state….

Harun Idris wanted Selangor badly and he created May 13. What would Najib do if he faces problems getting Selangor?

PM, since you lost Selangor in the last election, you planned to retake the State with the same BN gangsters? Inless, you have the audacity to starte anew, I believe all this is just sloganeering! The State is plagued by all BN State leaders who are only interested in grabbing what the State has! In spite of all the joint rfforts by the printed media to belittle Tan Sri Khalid, Selangoreans are better educated than the rest of Malaysians and they have also rejected thsoe printeed media. Hence your continuous sloganeeri g wil not bring any votes, unless have decided to take propoer actions; even then at the moment, BN may get some complimentary votes to ensure a more balanced Gomen. TO take over to lead, you must be dreaming!
