PAS President, Hadi Awang revolts against the Yang di Pertuan Agong’s advice on political stability, the Sultan of Perak’s advice on eradicating corruption, and the Sultan of Terengganu’s decree against politicians speaking in mosques and suraus, yet he accuses DAP of anti-royalty when DAP supports all these objectives.

In the euphoria of PAS victory in the 15th General Election on Nov. 19, 2022, PAS has made three major errors.

Firstly, it tried to act like the moral police in Malaysia. Secondly, it ridiculed attempts by the Anwar unity government to help the poor and needy to meet their food needs and told lies and untruths, like Menu Rahmah could cause autism and cancer.

But these errors were overshadowed by the series of major errors committed by the PAS President, Hadi Awang, whose political appetite has grown with the alleged “green wave” in the 15th General Election, thinking he should be the 11th Prime Minister himself or the kingmaker of the 11th Prime Minister.

He alleged that the DAP was anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, communist, and lately promoting Islamophobia.

More than 14 weeks have passed, and despite constant reminders to substantiate his allegation that DAP was promoting Islamophobia, Hadi has not been able to do so.

Can Hadi name an Islamic prophet who used lies, falsehoods, and fake news to hurl allegations against his opponents?

But the greatest failure of Hadi when he was the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Middle East is his failure to report DAP’s alleged Islamophobia to the Organisation of Islamic Conference Islamophobia Observatory — if there was any basis on the allegation that DAP was promoting Islamophobia.

There is no truth to Hadi’s allegation that DAP promoted islamophobia. We have Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and Christians in DAP, and we want inter-religious peace, understanding, and tolerance where Malaysia could be, in the words of Bapa Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, “a beacon of light in a difficult and distracted world”.

For over half a century, DAP has fielded candidates from all ethnic and religious groups. DAP has never harboured a hostile thought for the Malays, Islam, and the Royalty.

But Hadi could be so unscrupulous as to charge the DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, and even promoting Islamophobia without an iota of evidence?

But PAS under Hadi had achieved what PAS under all previous PAS Presidents had never done — it became exceedingly rich to the extent that a PAS leader could offer to fund Bersatu for the six state general elections later this year.

Is this why the PAS leadership is equating corruption with charity?
