Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is trying to be King Canute a thousand years ago to stop the rise of the tide in the way he is trying to stem the new tide in Malaysian politics after the 13th General Elections – growing support from Malaysians regardless of race for an end to the politics of race, corruption and abuses of power and their replacement by the politics of the Malaysian Dream rising above race, corruption and cronyism.
It is most shocking and outrageous that after 22 years as Prime Minister and after fathering Vision 2020 and Bangsa Malaysia, Mahathir should return to his racist roots during and after the 13th General Elections to foment racial conflict and tensions.
His latest racist fulmination that the 13th General Election is proof that the Chinese in Malaysia are out to oust the political power of the Malays and to dominate Malaysian politics is totally outrageous, reckless and irresponsible, and most unbecoming and unworthy of a person who had been Prime Minister for 22 years – and worst of all, a person who fathered Vision 2020 and Bangsa Malaysia.
Mahathir was already at his racist worst during the 13th General Elections when he made the preposterous and baseless allegation that I was contesting in Gelang Patah to create a “racial confrontation” and that I was inciting the Chinese to hate the Malays.
There was not an ounce of truth in Mahathir’s allegations.
But what was most significant was that Mahathir’s allegations failed to make any impression on the voters, particularly the Malay voters, as I could not have won Gelang Patah with a majority of over 14,000 votes without the support of the Malay voters.
Now Mahathir has come out with an even more proposterous allegation that the Chinese in Malaysia are out to oust the political power of the Malays so as to dominate Malaysian politics!
Mahathir has become the greatest enemy of a multi-racial Malaysia.
Let me advise Mahathir to stop being an inveterate racist and learn to be a Malaysian. I would even remind him of the Bangsa Malaysia objectie of his Vision 2020. Has Mahathir completely repudiated his Vision 2020 and Bangsa Malaysia concept?
While I am completey outraged by Mahathir’s latest racist fulminations, I feel nontheless encouraged that he is speaking to a diminishing crowd, for the results of the 13th General Elections is the best proof that the young generation of Malaysians, whether Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans and Dayaks, have become more Malaysian-minded than Mahathir, and they are spearheading a new political wave to demand an end to the politics of race and corruption.
What they want is a new politics of a Malaysian Dream which could unite all Malaysians regardless of race, religion or region, in a common national purpose to build a new Malaysia where all Malaysians can hold their heads high as proud citizens of a Malaysian nation where there is freedom, justice, good governance, prosperity for all Malaysians where the politics of race is a nightmare of the past.
This is why I say Mahathir is trying to be King Canute a thousand years ago to command that the tide should not rise – in the same way as he is setting his face against the rising tide of the politics of a Malaysian Dream and an end to the politics of race.

I doubt Mahathir would believe his own statement. He should not shove the statement down the throats of the Malays when he himself does not believe it!

“Dr. Mahathir Mohamad trying to be King Canute”? No way. They both “tried” stop the tides/waves for different motives/reasons. This story about King Canute (first recorded by Henry of Huntingdon’s 12th century Chronicle of History of England) believing that his command could hold back the tides is actually not to show the King’s vain foolishness but his wisdom.’ When his flattering courtiers claimed the King was so great that he could command the tides of the sea to go back”, Canute purposely brought his throne and seated himself on the seashore as the tide came in…The waves soon lapped round his feet heedless of his ‘command’. And Canute then made the point to everyone that though the deeds of kings might appear ‘great’ in the minds of men, they were however nothing in the face of God’s power! He said with humility the truth to his flatterers. That’s why he was King Canute the Great and why TDM could not be measured against him.

King Canute the Great.
King Mahathir the Crude.
That is the chasm , the great divide, the gulf that separates the continent of minds.
Humility vs mindless cockiness.
Humanity vs racism.

This Mammak is at his astute misdemeanor – proven an advocate of Bangsa Malaysia and ‘shiok’ playing the Racist card as his ‘mind’ goes devilish, ‘screwed-cunningly. All an attempt to stayed in the limelight, in view of coming Bumno EGM now.
To shut him up – just ask him to account for the Billions (from Wikipedia posting) he has /and stashed away. Also, the monies to bail out his sons’ companies, the Petronas contract given to his son. And the companies under nominees, the monies taken out to ‘own/establish’ A Bank by Diam. THe many other of his wrongdoings – all soley to plunder the country’s wealth and caused the diaspora state of what become of BolehLand now.
This Mammak is always trying to DIVERT attention away from his own-self and families
(from being filthy Rich, his past wrongdoings, and to stay relevant). Also, remember this Mammak is ONE TRAITOR by spawning, creating illegals “Malaysians” from selected illegals immigrants.
ONE PARIAH that’s all to describe this Mammak aptly.

He played the race card at all cost to become PM.
You can’t blame him trying his luck again…..may be for someone else.
Petty issue like corruption does not concern him.

The Chinese in this country already knows the Malays will always control this country. What they want to do is free the Malays from the feudal yoke of UMNO or anyone else because they believe that a a free Malay race, is their best chance of being treated the most justly..
This is essentially a debate of fatalist cynical Mahathir that not only UMNO but he himself knows what is best for the Malays always OR whether its best for the Malays to think for themselves.. The Chinese believe in the latter, Mahathir believes in the perpetual enslavement of the Malays under his half-breed colonialism..

Mr Lim,
Mahatir is nothing more than a racist trying to hide behind a cloak of respectability.
The number of Malaysians who no longer subscribe to the racial divide continues to grow.
Mahatir knows this and is doing all he can to prevent Malaysians from uniting against racism.
His protestations that he is no racist is laughable in light of his words and his deeds.

‘ ….. Mahathir is trying to be King Canute a thousand years ago to command that the tide should not rise …. ‘.
Let us be clear about the Great King Canute (Knud).
Knud, the King of Denmark, England, Scotland, Norway and Sweden was in fact trying to make a point.
He wanted to show his nobles and people that even though he is King, he is still human and has but limited powers and cannot stop the tide from rising.
There is someone above him who has supreme powers – GOD.
He said: “All the inhabitants of the world should know that the power of kings is vain and trivial, and that none is worthy the name of king but He whose command the heaven, earth and sea obey by eternal laws”.
From the day of the incident, his demonstration in front of his people, he stopped wearing his King’s crown and there is always a Cross with Jesus above him. He was indeed a Great and Humble King but is so often misunderstood.
(Perhaps Mahathir thinks he IS God and can command the people but we all know he’s but a crackpot now.)

During his 22 year tenure as the PM of Malaysia, Dr M had managed to suppress his racist inclination to the minimum. Had he been as racist as he is today, the Chinese would have suffered untold misery during his rule. Perhaps he was a pragmatic racist then. He would turn simple issues into a racial one, including corruption. When people voiced their opposition against corruption, he accused them of wanting to overthrow the country’s Malay leadership. He is really an expert at twisting facts.

And the only way in which the power of the interests can be undermined and their maneuvers defeated is by bringing home to the public the danger of its indifference, the absurdity of its prejudices, or the hollowness of its fears; by showing that it is indifferent to danger where real danger exists; frightened by dangers which are nonexistent.

Let us show a little kindness to the old man. Already into his ninety, so we cannot expect him to think and talk like other intelligent younger men. He is senile or ‘nyanyuk’ in Malay. And, how much longer can he keep on spouting nonsense?

UMNO/BN won with under 20% of votes!! This is the ultimate form of electoral cheating and is a blatant abuse of the democratic process!! PR should immediately form a shadow cabinet to run the country. I am sure majority of the rakyat will support this. One glance at the present UMNO/BN cabinet members and it is clear that a shadow PR cabinet with members of significantly higher integrity and respect can easily garner more confidence from the rakyat. Think about it PR!

Hello, Taxidriver.
Mahathir is not ninety yet.
Senile and nyanyuk, he is not.
As I have said, he is pure evil.
There is method and design in his madness.
This ol’ man is playing his ball fast and furious before he returns to His Creator.
What the Creator will do with him, it is anybody’s guess.
But Malaysians must STOP his madness before he drags all of us to HELL with him.
Again, there is method in his madness.
Like Satan, he would be laughing all the way to HELL if all Malaysians foolishly go with him.
So, beware, the wiles and poisoned darts of the evil predator.
