DAP harassed and hounded unjustly

Lim Kit Siang is rightly troubled that the DAP may not be able to contest in GE13 using the party logo – the rocket – because the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has issued a letter freezing the posts of all elected DAP leaders.

This sudden turn of events has very unfairly rendered the DAP secretary general incapable of issuing letters authorising selected DAP candidates to stand on the DAP platform using the party symbol.

This is clearly aimed at sabotaging DAP’s chances of scoring victories in the elections.

Malaysians would remember that just before this, the ROS had issued a letter to investigate the party elections and summoned two officials to appear before him two days before nomination day. Following outcries from various sources, he withdrew that letter stating that these officials can appear before him after the general elections.

Now two days before nomination day, he is at it again. He has once again issued a letter to the DAP not recognising the party’s elected designations. The intention is the same: to harass and hound the DAP just before the elections.

The DAP is bedevilled on many fronts. It has to contend with an Election Commission that is blatantly biased against the Opposition. The Commission is unable – or unwilling – to conduct free and fair elections. Its electoral rolls are padded with bogus voters that are intended to help the BN and put the Opposition at a disadvantaged position even before the elections.

We have a Registrar of Societies who is bent on putting the DAP in disarray. This is happening at a time when there are so many Umno branches that have not been registered with the ROS – but recognised by Umno and functioning as legitimate entities – without the ROS being riled up.

In 1988, the ROS rejected the application of Umno Malaysia submitted by Tunku and Tun Hussein Onn following Umno’s deregistration. But within three days, Mahathir’s Umno Baru was subsequently registered! The ROS is a partisan civil servant!

Not only that. Umno Baru eventually dropped the word ‘Baru’ and continues to pretend that it has an unbroken history of 67 years as of now. But in reality, the old Umno was buried in 1988 because of Mahathir. The Umno Baru of today is only 25 years old. But this deception was allowed because the ROS is beholden to Umno politics and the double standards treatment is the privilege accorded to Umno Baru.

The DAP has to contend with ridiculous lies and atrocious spin stories dished out daily by the mainstream media, radio and television to paint the Opposition as incapable, unintelligent and a diabolical bunch of politicians.

Now the Registrar has stopped recognising the elected positions of DAP leaders at the very last minute to cause confusion, create unnecessary difficulties and frustrate the will of the voting public. But unintelligently, he says that the DAP candidates can contest under their party’s symbol. To contest under the party symbol, the DAP secretary general has to issue letters of authorisation. How is it possible now?

When the party secretary general is not recognised as such, how can he issue such letters of authorisation?

Of course the secretary general’s letters cannot have any legitimacy following the ROS’ ruling that the party’s elected leaders are no longer recognised as such. This is a deliberate and calculated move to do the DAP in.

It is indeed a trap to snare the DAP. What happens when the letter is rejected as a bogus one on nomination day? It would leave the DAP candidates without a party and without a common symbol to stand under. Is this move meant to force the DAP candidates to contest as independents at the last minute? All these candidates will no longer be seen as DAP candidates.

They will have to stand under some incongruous symbols.

They will no longer be seen as a band of contestants belonging to a common party using a common symbol.

Malaysians are horrified and shocked beyond belief at the role played by this civil servant who is not capable of being neutral in carrying out his duties fairly and justly. He is being partisan – and openly so.

The DAP has the sympathies of all fair-minded Malaysians. They are revolted and outraged that at the eleventh hour a civil servant is attempting to throw a spanner in the works. Malaysians will not forgive the Barisan Nasional for this unscrupulous attempt to defeat the DAP even before the election takes place.

This is why a change of government is imperative and necessary. We must vote in a new government to put a stop to all these unethical activities and usher in a pro-rakyat government at the 13th general election.

DAP should be vigilant at all time as we are living in a lion’s den. DAP should anticipate this is forthcoming. In future this type of mistake should not have happened.

I tell my managers that you can’t avoid politics in any place but when someone break rules, lies and cheat often, its SIMPLY A MEASURE OF MEDIOCRITY.. People who are smart, great, good at what they do – lying, cheating and breaking rules is the exception, NOT habitual..

UMNO/BN rules breaking, cheating and lying, ITS JUST SAYS THEY ARE BAD AT WHAT THEY DO…

You know what, Madey just given Bijan a big slap, IbAliPerkasa is contesting PMas as independent candidate, BeEnd candidate was just standing in the nomination centre sucking thumb.

BumNo is screening its best drama.

In political campaign, it was Bush Sr. that first prominently applied the concept of ‘plausible deniability’ to political campaigns in eliminating his opponents. The general concept itself applied to govt was during the Kennedy era by the CIA. Bush Sr. as we know was in charge of the CIA at one time..

But Najib think himself smart by taking the concept a little bit more with Ibrahim Ali and Zukiflee Nordin. – Another example of influence of consultants he hire to do his thinking for him that is just simply a waste of money..

You can’t have plausible deniability if you have no trust. Even if you believe Najib’s numbers, UMNO/BN numbers are in the toilet, its not possible to deny anything this close…The classic uselessness of fee-gorging consultant.

Looks like they BumNo BeEnd is making a last minute u turn. BumNo bosses are scared by the overwhelming responses of the rakyat, its too dangerous for BeEnd if DAP is to use the moon logo :-)

BumNo’s next blunder is to deregister DAP after PR won Putrajaya.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng says the returning officer has accepted the party’s rocket symbol, adding “DAP shall contest under rocket!” I wonder if EC/BN/ROS would take future legal actions against DAP for “illegitimately” authorizing its candidates?

  9. #11 by kg on Saturday, 20 April 2013 - 9:50 am

Guys. the rocket logo is allowed to be used by DAP candidates, lets move on to help PR winning Putrajaya.

    • #13 by kg on Saturday, 20 April 2013 - 10:10 am

According to lawyer, once a candidate is accepted by the returning officer to use the logo, it is binding on the law, and nothing can change this status later.

  11. #14 by yhsiew on Saturday, 20 April 2013 - 10:10 am

There is no advantage to BN (in fact it could well be the loser) for not allowing DAP to use the Rocket symbol. That is why the EC accepted the symbol.

Remember Mamakthir said that Ibrahim Ali should be the candidate for BN. Najib pretended to have balls and named somebody else for Pasir Mas with the explicit instruction that he/she does not file his/her papers. Maybe Najib wants Mamakthir to know he is not only obedient, but he created history to have BN nominee purposely instructed not to file papers to prove his obedience. Is it boot licking?

After the elections Pakatan will have to sack the ROS, EC Chairman, MACC chief and replace the IGP and AG. Its not safe to keep them as they will use underhand tactics to help BN.

There are grossly dishonest and unprincipled people who are prepared to do anything…..it’s a serious matter when one is in position of power, trust and influence.

There is no place for these people in a modern, progressive and civilised society.

Najib proves to Mamakthir that that he follows Mamakthir’s order to allow Ibrahim Ali to run against others, for UMNO, even though he was Perkasa candidate. Najib has also unofficially declaredthrough his action that he supports Perkasa even though Perkasa is against 1Malaysia. It follows that Najib has no intention to implement 1Malaysia whatever that 1Malaysia meant to him initially. Najib is the alternate patron of Perkasa.

LKS’s masterstroke of going for PAS and PKR symbols does the trick ! More aptly the MOON symbol scarred the hell out of C4 with the ROCKET as the backdrop to land smoothly, touch down ! Whatever, nasi sudah jadi bubur – the rubicon being crossed ! This has clearly shown that PAS, DAP, PKR (DAP in between) demonstrated that whatever issues eg.”be it religious – more so, ” are just issues of parties’ principles and could be embraced / subjugated inherently – here, another day. Foremost, there exist THIS common AIM, OBJECTIVE to face, fight and overcome this Devil we know, Dumno in unison. DAP has to be commented for being first to cross the communal line openly by opting to put the party’s past history, struggle under PAS’s symbol. And also PAS and PKR to be commented for accepting this “way-out” promptly, without delay/fuss/hesitation. (Proven with all authorisation letters signed and good). Such decisive, sincere, effective leadership from Pakatan !
From now on, the line that separates DAP being just ” all Chinese ” and PAS being just ” all Melayu/Islamic ” has become more blur. Hence, more so the Chinese will vote for PAS and the Malays will vote for DAP when faced their common foe -Dumno.
It sure make C4 to think twice, no play-play /jangan main-main sini. But Dumno being Dumno still want to keep an open option for dirty/foul tactic later going by ROS kind of reponse. ( Sent at 10pm ! C4 really hope DAP not used Moon symbol, Big Tikus ! )

Umno is like a big schoolyard bully. You need to sock them in the eye before they learnt anything. Election Cheats are nothing but lapdogs. Wagging their tails for money and titles.
