The ‘class acts’ promoting Umno/BN

MARCH 25 ― In the past few weeks, there have been many luminaries who have been promoting the continued rule of Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN). Of course, all of them come from Umno.

Let’s see, we have had Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, of course. The wise man who says Malays have to save Selangor in order to save the Malays themselves. He would say that because he has never read the Federal Constitution, which talks of the special position of the Malays.

And Tun Daim Zainuddin, Datuk Ibrahim Ali, Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar. They all owe their positions and influence to Umno and BN. Why would they say different?

These “class acts” also all have something in common: They are part of a political system that promoted and celebrated excesses in power.

Now that they are no longer at the pinnacle of power, they have turned to advising Malaysians on what choices to make.

You can’t expect any of them to say anything different except that Umno and BN are the best for the country.

Because if anyone else takes power, these chaps are finished. We will now all that they have done while in power. That is something they don’t want us to know.

We can listen to their tall tales. Of how great Umno and BN are for Malays and Malaysians. But we should know better. These chaps are doing it for their own future, not ours.

They want to continue sleeping well at night at our expense. We can’t let that happen. For once, we need to sleep well too with the choices we make for the future of our country and fellow countrymen.

/// Malays have to save Selangor in order to save the Malays themselves.///

Only a racist would utter these words.

In 2008, Daim predicted UMNO/BN losses and kept a low profile even AFTER the result came out. He repeated refused to talk about the political going ons through much of the last few years. If he believe UMNO/BN will still win, why is so publicly supportive of UMNO/BN?

Having read Daim’s reasoning for supposedly prefering Najib vs. Anwar, its more about rejecting Anwar and not really about anything good to say about Najib. EVERY single one of his criticism of Anwar, can be applied to Mahathir. His conclusion of Anwar, COMPLETELY IGNORES the fact that Anwar, who took his almost-dying party from disastrous outing in 2004, and built the rainbow coalition of Pakatan and making it bigger than the sum of the parts – A FEAT much bigger and meritorious than Mahathir usurption of UMNO/BN from within of better known as “curi lampu ajaib”.. Anwar made his own “lampu ajaib”. If Mahathir is his hero, Anwar is merit far above Mahathir’s.

I am surprised why the writer has referred to these ‘expired politicians’ luminaries.
Does he honestly think their views can make a difference to the people, unless of course the hangers-on and uninformed and misinformed Malays and the BN cronies.
I urge readers to visit this site ( http://sakmongkol.blogspot.com/) to get the true story about why Daim said what was quoted in the NST.

“You can’t expect any of them to say anything different except that Umno and BN are the best for the country.”
Of course this group of elites, their families and cronies who have reaped the most benefits from the affirmative policies, leaving little to the Malays and much less to the non-Malays, would continue to shower adulation on UMNO till their last breath so that the status quo remains. They think that the benefits they have been enjoying so far are their vested rights and will go all out to resist political changes.

You want a world-beating soccer team? Well, play Pele, Maradona, Platini, Bobby Charlton, and other once-upon-a-time players. Make sure you find a place for them to store their walking sticks by the side of the field.
As for the ex-Alliance/Barisan “luminaries” that are being brought out from the moth-balled closet, we are indeed digging the bottom of the apple-barrel. Why can’t these fellows enjoy their easily earned (not hard-earned) money in peace, by the fire-side, pipes in mouths.

Only Chengho can tell so much with few words.
Chengho seems to be lost…without BN.
