KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 — The DAP wants the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to act against websites spreading allegations that Lim Guan Eng’s son molested a girl.

DAP publicity chief Tony Pua said the party will submit to the MCMC a list of 34 offending websites and 200 pages of printouts compiled over the past three days for the regulator’s immediate action.

They include blogs by Papagomo and Bukit Gelugor Umno division chief Dr Novandri Hasan Basri, Pisau.net and Utusan Malaysia.

“Frankly speaking… they (MCMC) don’t need a report from us. Once they see something happening they can take the necessary action.

“But we know the way our MCMC works. Unless we file something, maybe they will work,” Pua (picture) told reporters in the Parliament lobby today.

Pro-Umno bloggers had claimed that Lim’s son had assaulted a 16-year-old schoolmate and tried to escape punishment by using his father’s name.

Penang Chief Minister Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, denied the allegations, saying he was furious with the “barbaric lies” made about his teenage son by “pro-Umno ferocious beasts”.

The DAP later said the picture of the purported victim used by pro-Umno bloggers was that of 21-year-old chess grandmaster Anya Sun Corke, who is studying at Wellesley College in the US.

On Friday, Corke denied ever having met or heard of Lim’s son.

Lim’s colleagues in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) also came out strongly in support of the DAP secretary-general against what they call “the lowest gutter politics” seen in decades.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday called on Lim to let the police to investigate the claims if he had nothing to hide.

moo says that a mere denial is not enough. Police must investigate.

Good. Jibbi merely denied knowing the mongolian girl. So why is the police keeping quiet/ Investigate-lah!!

If even the mother of Anya Ann Corke (Mei Sun) – a foreigner- has said that she would do all to protect her daughter including taking legal action against those parties propagating rumours about 21-year-old daughter, how could MCMC in conjunction with Cybersecurity Malaysia, an agency under the purview of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) not launch investigations on these blogs to spread falsehood? As regulator of the communications and multimedia industry, no action by MCMC implies either dereliction or selective execution of statutory duties under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act (1998) and the Communications and Multimedia Act (1998).

DAP should stop wasting its time. Pro-Umno MCMC is not going to do any probing.

///Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has praised the organisers of yesterday’s anti-apostasy Himpun rally for its orderly conduct.///–Malaysiakini

The Himpun rally was said to expect 1,000,000 turn out on the day. The organizers being good at the game must have recruited persons who are trained to perform crowd control. giving the ration of 20 to 1 for effective control to ensure orderly conduct, they will need about 5,000 persons. The rally show that 5,000 were in attendance. And they were certainly orderly since they were trained to be so.

It proves therefore that the people attended the Himpun rally were just the workers. Muslims are confident that the problem of apostasy had been overblown, and that is why they stay away from the rally.

Bersih would also be orderly walking the street if the police did not make them disperse and ended up as if they were on riot.
