05/05/2010 12:31 AM

  1. #1 by Malaysian Voter on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 1:12 pm

The question was asked the other day, Apa lagi yang orang Cina mahu?

I would say that the Chinese want:
    1. No more NEP
    2. All Malaysians, regardless of race, have equal status and opportunities
    3. Therefore, no more Ketuanan Melayu, please!

How about if under PR, can we have:
New social contract to replace the current social contract? – Chinese can become PM; no such thing as Ketuanan Melayu; and, citizenship status, rights and privileges are not based on race?

  2. #2 by yhsiew on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 2:30 pm

If a non-Malay PM can bring progress, prosperity and peace to the nation many times more than a Malay PM, then he (non-Malay PM) is more than qualified to be a PM.

People should not make a big fuss over race and skin color which can hinder the nation from scaling to greater heights.

  3. #3 by Bigjoe on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 2:33 pm

We Chinese, already PM in Thailand, Singapore, Philippines already before. Vietnam, Indonesia, Burma, Australia, NZ maybe someday. But Malaysia, forget it.

  4. #4 by chengho on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 5:10 pm

Why everybody sound so racist ? anybody can become a PM not only malaysian chinese ; as long as you can get the majority support of parliment , even karpal can become a PM.

  5. #5 by monsterball on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 5:18 pm

    Glad Chengho got it right.
BN politicians are racists and others cannot fight them…as racists…to exposed the real racists?

  6. #6 by waterfrontcoolie on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 - 11:21 pm

We won’t get a OBAMA for the next 2 generations, whatever happen, the mind-set of the majority of the voters is just not ready. So, why talk about it? It is not just a waste of ink but create more Ali Ibrahim type to confuse the society. Without doubt, any leader who can bring progress should lead but for the time being I only hope that a more enlightened Malay leader who cares for the nation can take the lead. We have enough ‘negotiated tender’ over the past 30 years! Any practice or policy without being iopen to a third party scrutiny will be abused in ALL circumstances. So to my fellow Malay Malaysians, please be awaken, the other communities have no number to be the PM nor to rob you of your interest, we seek only that you elect good and sincere Malay leaders who can bring the nation to its former standing in the world community. Nothing more! rather than you elect leaders who keep on swindling you and than tell you that someone else has taken the toffees!! please wake up!! indeed we are all surprised that the Only MCA President who wanted to clean the stable was engineered out of his post!!!!
