Umno outsourcing extremism to Perkasa, says Kit Siang

By Shazwan Mustafa Kamal | The Malaysian Insider

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 — DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang today accused Umno of outsourcing its “extremist demands” to Perkasa after the right-wing Malay group demanded Barisan Nasional (BN) review its aid for the Chinese in Hulu Selangor.

The group had demanded the government reconsider its election pledges to the Chinese in Hulu Selangor because of the community’s poor support for the ruling coalition in yesterday’s by-election.

“It is very clear that Umno has outsourced its extremist demands to Perkasa. The voice of Perkasa represents (the views) of the Umno extremists,” Lim told The Malaysian Insider.

The veteran politician claimed this was a test for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on whether his 1 Malaysia concept of unity was actually practised or a mere farce.

“This is evidence of the failure of 1 Malaysia. The victory of BN in Hulu Selangor, is it the victory of 1 Malaysia?

“Perkasa’s demands are completely against the 1 Malaysia concept and undermining it entirely,” said Lim.

Lim stated that the onus was now on Najib as well as Chinese parties in BN such as the MCA and Gerakan to respond, and their response will be gauged to determine whether they were truly free to voice out their opinions or be mere “pawns” of Umno.

“The MCA, Gerakan leadership should demonstrate whether they are willing to be held to ransom by Umno (or otherwise). Are they mere pawns of Umno?” asked the DAP leader.

Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali said earlier today that despite BN’s success in winning the semi-rural seat from PKR, the Chinese voters had largely chosen to back the federal opposition.

“It is necessary for the government to delay any allocation and approval of projects for the Chinese community,” said Ibrahim in a statement responding to the by-election result.

He added that the government should also ignore all the demands made by BN members, the MCA and Gerakan, as the Chinese of Hulu Selangor had rejected the ruling coalition.

“They show no appreciation to BN government’s efforts, even though the BN government had to hurt the feelings of the Malays and the natives,” said Ibrahim.

“All their demands are fulfilled by the government but they do not know how to be grateful,” he added.

Ibrahim, an independent MP, had actively campaigned for BN during the campaign.

His Perkasa is fighting for affirmative action policies favouring Malays to be retained permanently.

In the by-election which saw BN’s P. Kamalanathan defeat former Law Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim by 1,725 votes, the ruling coalition lost badly in Chinese-dominated polling districts.

During the final campaigning days for the Hulu Selangor by-election Najib promised an allocation of RM3 million for a Chinese school in a new village.

The BN chairman also promised RM90,000 for the Ulu Yam Kwang Tung cemetery and more allocations for Hokkien and muhibbah associations in the area.

However the support level from Chinese voters was reduced from about 35 per cent in Election 2008 to less than 30 per cent yesterday.

BN’s victory was guaranteed by strong support from the Malay-dominated Felda settlements and villagers in rural Hulu Selangor.

Perkasa Ibrahim’s insensitive remark that the Chinese are ungrateful to the federal government will further dent Chinese support for BN in the 13th GE.

Lets see how Najib dare to twist his words and agree with Perkasa President..Ibrahim Ali….and why not…UMNO BARU is a racist party…and won by bribing Malays to stay like before…be racists and depend on UMNO BARU hands out.
Yes….lets see how MCA and Gerakan low class puppets fight to defend his own race.
Lets see how Najib practices his “1Malaysia”….he preaches.
Yes…divide to rule is Najib’s clear message.
Lets see he keeps his promises to the Chinese.
Lets see he keeps all his promises to give hundreds of millions to all poor farmers all over Malaysia…be fair and treat all Muslims equal.
If his actions and intentions in Hulu Selangor are not bribery and corruptions methods to win votes…I must be the biggest idiot to think that is so.
Najib said it was not bribery and corruptions…..as money was long overdue to the Felda settlers.
There are hundreds of cases with money long overdue to so many groups and projects…promised by UMNO BARU.
Lets see he keep all promises to all now.
I am sure…he is studying what are due to Sibu residents…right now..to repeat his devilish art and craft to win another by-election.
Unfortunately..Hulu Selangor Muslim farmers do not know how to take the money…rightfully theirs and vote for change in government. They do not know who ever governs must treat them well…or be done for. Why so…always UMNO BARU? Are they racists and hypocritical muslims……like Najib?
Certainly not. It is sad….in rural areas..there are still plenty who cannot think ..but vote like zoombies…being programed by Najib with one sided medias and TV news.
But the good news..at least 5% more Muslims in HS..voted against Najib.
Spending more than RM100 million and got a majority of 1725….and call that …a great victory?
He needs hundreds of RM Trillions…a 1000 billion… to bribe all in Malaysia and buy up the country….when 13th GE begins.
It can be done..and really cheap too.
Lets see he get the funds without stealing from tax payers and the natural resources ..belonging to all Malaysians.
At least we know Najib uses money to buy power..but it is a by-election.
What a great example he is showing to all Muslims in Malaysia…using money to buy innocent and less educated people.
Don’t tell me…stealing from Muslims to feed Muslims…also not sinful.
Leave it to Najib and UMNO BARU ministers. They are all trained to be double headed snakes…by the Devil…and so the Devil won..
Will the devil reincarnated…Mahathir please speak up to support his son?

Perkasa (or Perkosa) Ibrahim, does he realize that Chinese paid most of the taxes (beside petronas), thought fed govt should be grateful to the Chinese??
Dont forget one day petrol will run dry?

It is income tax time, according to Perkasa Ibrahim logic, maybe can all the Chinese ignore n not pay all these taxes??

Najib must walk the talk of the things that he promised in the New Economic Model if he wants to see support from the Chinese.

I believe many Chinese are watching carefully whether Najib is earnestly committed (in action) to the New Economic Model before they give their support to BN.

The Chinese have had enough of the NEP which is the main factor why BN failed to garner sizable Chinese support in the Ulu Selangor by-election.

The DAP said today it expected a tougher contest in the upcoming Sibu parliamentary by-election in Sarawak than that in the just-concluded parliamentary by-election in Hulu Selangor.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said Sibu as well as the three state seats within it – Nangka, Pelawan and Bawang Assan – were BN seats.
Let’s see whether Dap dare to put “non chinese candidate” to show that Dap is not a chauvinism party…..

Maybe Perkasa Ibrahim should demand that bn govt demand China n Taiwan take back all the Chinese in Malaysia within, says 36 months, Becos according to him these pendatang are ungrateful ppl,
May also further demand that if China and Taiwan do not do this within 36 months, then suspend all trade, cultural, relationship with them??
If China n Taiwan do that, then this Ibrahim should be very happy, then Msia govt do not need to spend anything on any Chinese in Malaysia.??

All Malaysians are on family….so said Anwar Ibrahim.
Be prepared to defend and die for your rights…if the evil forces are trying to be extremist to the highest order…..behaving unreasonable and arrogant to think Malaysia belongs to some UMNO BARU extremists only.
With the combined forces of all Malaysians…UMNO BARU racists and extremists will be the ones…chased out…if the battle of Royale do come into reality.
This is not 1969…where one can fool one race against all Malaysians.

Yes, Monsterball: “What a great example he is showing to all Muslims in Malaysia…using money to buy innocent and less educated people.
Don’t tell me…stealing from Muslims to feed Muslims…also not sinful.”
Take note that UMNO is not doing what Islam asks its followers to do – any kind of stealing is not permitted by Allah. And PAS has been rejecting to work with UMNO just because of that. So, Chinese of Malay is not PAS’s agenda – what we need to do is to install a non-corrupted government based on mutually accepted manners or good human interpersonal relationship & behaviour, disregarding of RACE (PAS will always believe that the true alquran teachings is the best standard for all human beings)… Thks!

The Chinese population knows all about Ibrahim Katak and Perkasa, but the minority component parties of BN choose to keep their heads firmly in the sand.

What? Extremism? Perkasa? What’s that? Really? Parties like Gerakan, MCA and MIC are exactly where UMNO wants them to be – deaf and mute.

The Chinese contribute 95 pct of tax revenues – so what ? You are all pendatangs paying rent. Us Tuans don’t have to pay rent. You don’t pay what you owe us in rental, you can go back to where your ancestors come from, you ungrateful people.

I beg to differ. Perkasa OWNS UMNO. Najib sold it to Perkasa in Hulu Selangor when he trashed his own program to win the by-election. Everyone in Perkasa will point to this by-election and tell Najib what right he has not to let them be corrupt given his own vote-buying or use of racism that worked.

This is the new game plan. It used to Umno play the role of perkasa and MCA/MIC play the role of community’s savers. After 308, MCA/MIC lost their ground and lost their audients. The old tricks exposure! Umno could not play role of villans and MIC/MCA could play hero, they play 1 malaysia. That‘s the reason for insurgent of so called independent katakpuru and Perkasa to fill up the vacuum role-play here. These groups play the villains, and BN, which is the components of Umno plays hero.

They dong-dong-chiang everyday and we are very confuse with the role of MIC/MCA now, they don’t have any role play now, not even a ‘kalefee’ nowadays…

Now, they try to hide the UMNO name totally and use Perkasa.

Was UMNO Youth also “borned” by DAP?
