Surprise of surprises that there is a MCA Minister and leader who could bestir from their political comatose stage to notice current developments around them.
The MCA paper The Star today reported the MCA vice president Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha as commenting that “the ‘internal bleeding’ of Pakatan Rakyat is just the beginning of a more serious problem for the pact” and that “Normally, in medical terms, if there’s haemorrhaging in the brain, it will lead to a stroke”.
Thanks Kong for the concern, which must have been quite an exertion from a denizen of the “politically walking-dead” in Malaysia – the MCA Ministers and leaders.
Malaysians have ceased to ask why MCA Ministers have failed to pull their weight in Cabinet, as it is generally recognized that the “politically walking-dead” can have zero weight or input in serious matters of state – which is why MCA Ministers have nothing to say in Cabinet about national issues whether 1Malaysia, NEP, braindrain, corruption, galloping crime or recent issues as in getting the Cabinet to direct the Home Ministry to withdraw its appeal against the Kuala Lumpur High Court judgment of Datuk Lau Bee Lan allowing the Catholic weekly Herald to use the word “Allah” in the Bahasa Malaysia edition and to convene an inter-religious conference to resolve the “Allah” controversy; the exclusion of Chinese and Tamil primary schools in the selection of the first list of 20 high-performance schools or the Jakim insubordination and insurrection in organsing a forum for 800 civil servants last Thursday which openly defied the 1Malaysia concept.
DAP and Pakatan Rakyat will not be in denial like MCA Ministers and leaders. We are not afraid to admit to any internal haemorrhaging as such frank admission is the first necessary step and precondition to staunch the wound and not to become “politically walking dead” like MCA Ministers and leaders.
As PKR leader and Parliamentary Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, mentioned yesterday, there is afoot the Umno inspired plot involving Prime Minister Najib Razak to get PKR MPs and state legislators to defect by the Chinese New Year or to wrest a second state from Pakatan Rakyat, i.e. Selangor after the undemocratic, illegal and unconstitutional power grab in Perak which will mark its infamous anniversary on 6th Feb.
Pakatan Rakyat leaders who met yesterday recognized such “internal bleeding” and we are determined to staunch it so that PR will not join MCA Ministers and leaders in the zone of the “politically walking-dead”.

Its is OK for PR MP’s to have disagreement.This is to show that there is check and balance in a government.Well in BN it is different.All three main parties will sit down and divide how much the can screw the country and everyone in the party will be happy.Some sort like “you scratch my back I scratch yours”.Look at PKFZ, ministry of Transport(MCA) screws the country billions.Ministry of defence(UMNO) screws the country in sub and frigates purchase which does not work.Ministry of works(MIC) contract awarded to build MRR2 which needs millions to repair.This is just to mention a few cases.One thing that amuses me is that Malaysia is really a rich country.With so much of wastage the country is still not “bankrupt” yet.Maybe soon.When PR takes over the country after GE13 and there is only an empty shell.BN will screw the country dry.

The thing about Kong Chong Ha is that he has been a minister for quite a while now and yet don’t hear much now. Even throughout all the PKFZ and MCA mess, you don’t hear him talk much.
Now he want to voice an opinion on PR? Its either opportunism or desperation. You have to wonder if its both a small opportunity coupled with a lot of desperation. MCA is done for. They are around at the pleasure of UMNO President. The likes of Perkasa with Mahathir backing them is urging UMNO to go it alone and you can sense in the voice of Muhiyiddin, he is not beyond doing so.
Actually, if we can find an issue highly important for the Chinese that the Malays will oppose like the ‘Allah’ issue especially in education, we may just yet get the likes of Perkasa to pressure Muhiyiddin to make his move and the house of cards will fall apart…

I think there is a possibility, as you can see more and more MPs from the Pakatan are hitting out at each other. Latest one – Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng. The game here is simple. Blame your enemies for all the “messed” and then cross-over to the other component parties. This will give the public, especially their electorates who voted them in, to justify their cross-over. I see this as nothing but MONEY. Yes, “buy-over”, not “cross-over”. An attempted list of “buy-over” candidates by BN to form 2/3 majority in Parliament. If this happened, BN can pass any laws or amend the Constitution, being the objective to resolve the “Allah” issue as exclusive Muslims’ used. Problem solved. No need any inter-religious dialogue or inter-faith commission, as UMNO would received backlash from religious bodies like JAKIM or chauvinist NGOs like PERKASA which had the backing of Mahathir.
So you see, it’s all about killing 2 birds with one stone.

MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP & other component parties of BN no longer represent the interest of the rakyat. They fail to win the support of the rakyat in the last GE. They are no longer relevant in this new political climate.
Its filled with dinosaurs who were left behind with the evolution that has taken place in M’sia. These dinosaurs still cling to the old irrelevant ways, thinking they can still survive with it.
The so called balanced scale (dacing) of BN is now tilted one side to favour UMNO. The Alliance that won merdeka, that espouse equal partnership is now dead. The partnership now is UMNO dictates, component parties follows.
MCA should just dissolve from being a political party & become a NGO that does charity work. This way they can contribute more to M’sian society.

I think it is time for the leadership of Pakatan to take a firm stand on the common manifesto produced last month and supposedly endorsed by all PR parties. All PR parties should get a signed commitment from all its state and parliamentary reps for the common cause – and those who refuse or who openly contradict this common platform should simply resign from the legislatures.
Yes, they can refuse to resign like the case of Zulkifli Noordin – but then PR must cast these people into the wilderness, and let them be known as BN-friendly. Forget about maintaining the status quo, forget about denying BN the two-thirds majority in Parliament – all these can wait for 2013 when hopefully not every tom, dick and harry can be a PR candidate. We can wait till the next GE to do things right – but you must start weeding out the bad sheep NOW.

I note Anwar is playing too much politics selfishly.
Let all strength and weaknesses ….out in the open…with just enough time to straighten all things up…ready for 13th GE.
Anwar needs to show to Malaysians…he mean what he says and says what he mean.
He maybe after Malay votes….but he need not think or behave like any UMNO type of Malay leaders….cunning and twisting…and finding ways to win voters.

The sooner Anwar sees the truth…….the better.

I would suggest Kong spends time doing what he should be doing and to keep his own ‘house’ in order. If the majority of his members have some grey matter, he should be counting his hours into oblivion. don’t just collect your cut from developers who have failed to deliver the houses to the buyers in the specs agreed upon.

Frankly speaking,what’s there to talk about MCA,MIC Gerakan,Supp, PBS and UPKO .All these parties do not represent any more the people whom they claimed to represent. I think they are good only to ” angkat dua kaki ” { ADK} their master Umno.These “YES MAN” parties are like dead woods.PBS for example when they ruled Sabah, pretty lots of Kadazan/dusun/murut were holding various top state’s positions and now I can hardly find one under Umno/Bn. Why was it,the PBS allowed the almost complete changed of state’s top position to malays under Umno/Bn. PBS and UPKO top leaders should explain why ? Moreover,the KDM community are now being pressed and pushed into their kampongs,pretty lots of their youngsters could not find jobs,moved over to P.Malaysia and are employ in the low incomes jobs such waiters,PRO in pubs and hotels and SMI as labourers and operators. Their leaders should be ashmaned,take responsibility and resign.

On the whole, PR is actually in good shape. Unlike a year ago, the problem was unity and the fear was whether PR could even survive or not. That has passed and the coalition has shown remarkable cohesiveness despite coming from different ideologies. The problem now is saboteurs within the ranks and turncoats who may be enticed by Umno dangling millions in front of them and harassment with MACC behind them (the carrot and the stick).
This problem has affected mainly PKR as it is still a young party and many of its leaders were ex-Umno who brought along their Umno mentality. Taking action against MPs and assemblymen is never easy as it may mean losing a seat. Nevertheless PKR must act firmly to clean out the rubbish or lose public perception.
In 6 months time, PKR and PR may be stronger and more able to withstand Umno attacks. So PR is not bleeding, it is undergoing convulsions to clean itself to become better. I hope Kit realize it’s not that bad. The loss of public confidence is temporary and BN will soon hang itself again and pass the ball back to PR.

COMMENT: Pakatan doesn’t need an enemy to destroy it. It can self-destruct quite easily – thanks to coalition partner Parti Keadilan Rakyat!
The undercurrent that has been simmering for some time has finally surfaced with its Bayan Baru MP Zahrain Mohamed Hashim publicly lashing out at Penang CM Lim Guan Eng and accusing him of being “dictatorial, chauvinistic and communist-minded”.
The latest to join the fray is Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng who lambasted the chief minister as “a CM with no class.” He further castigates him by stating, “Whatever he cannot do, he blames it on the previous state government…he wants to portray himself as a Chinese hero…”
From the public’s perspective, there are several MPs in PKR who have taken public positions contrary to the stated aims of the party, thus undermining its credibility as a viable component of the Pakatan Rakyat.
Word has it that some of them are daring the party to take action against them. In fact, they are provoking the party to discipline them which would make it easier for them to leave the party.
Reason to jump ship
Their defiance is blatant and deliberate. This only gives credence to the belief that there are unannounced plans afoot to justify their joining the Barisan Nasional.
There is talk that Umno is trying to entice them to cross over to destabilise the Pakatan. Overtures have been made, it is claimed, to encourage this but it has not been revealed what the price would be. To be sure it must be hefty! It can go into tens of millions per head to provide sufficient inducement to whet the appetite of the greedy and make it alluring enough to abandon principles and ethics.
Having successfully subverted the Pakatan government in Perak, the BN especially Umno is now hard at work to achieve two immediate objectives.
Objective number one is to topple the Pakatan Selangor state government and take over the richest state. All it takes is for seven state assemblymen to be bought over and you have the Selangor state in your pocket!
Objective number two is to regain its traditional two third majority in parliament. Again, all it takes is for nine MPs to jump ship.
These objectives are achievable when they feed the greed of certain people with tens of millions of ringgit and corrupt them to switch party. This is how they will turn certain people into traitors and force them to commit treachery.
When it comes to ill-gotten wealth, unscrupulous people have no qualms in betraying the voters’ trust. These are people who have no character or ethics to fall back on and stand firm on moral grounds.
Let’s remember when treachery is committed it is not against the political party alone but in actual fact it is against the Malaysian voters and against democracy. Treachery is the betrayal of thousands of voters who had elected these people in good faith and put their trust and hope in voting for them.
Easy to buy a few reps
People fed up with the old politics wanted a change for the betterment of the country and that’s why they voted for a string of opposition candidates. If voters wanted to retain the tainted and corrupted old politics and politicians, they wouldn’t have cast their votes for these opposition politicians.
If ever these duly elected politicians now turn into renegades and turncoats, we must not only punish these traitors in the next round of elections but we must severely punish the party that encourages treachery.
When we give a simple majority to the Opposition, it is clearly possible to subvert our will through corruption. It is easy to buy a few representatives. But when we give the Opposition a bigger majority, it will be very difficult to frustrate the peoples’ mandate.
Let’s do a better job when the 13th General Election takes place. Let’s not only give the Opposition a better majority, it would be even better to reverse the roles and give the Opposition a chance to rule Malaysia.

The trouble we now have in penang and selangor is a three-fold one. One, federal funds are not coming quickly enough and if they do, in inadequate amount. Two, legacy of umno (i.e. corruption and abuse) is weighing down efforts by the new state government. And finally (and very importantly), pakatan may be present in the two states physically but umno has the remote control which it could use to good effect. And in umno’s terms good effect here must mean only one thing; i.e. sabotage pakatan government.
Still, my judgment is that despite all these hurdles, pakatan is not doing too badly.
