Regardless of race, religion, class or culture, let us be Dr. Chen on Augst 1 and vote for a Malaysian Dream

This speech is dedicated to one of the greatest sons of Seremban and Negri Sembilan, Dr. Chen Man Hin.

Before his involvement in the founding of the DAP, Dr. Chen was well known as a medical practitioner who is colour blind, irrespective of race, religion or culture. A person who seeks his medical help will get free medical treatment if he or she was poor.

Born in China, Dr. Chen became a Malaysian who fought for justice and future of all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or culture.

Dr. Chan represented the Malaysian Dream, the dream that with unity, the talents and resources of Malaysia can make Malaysia great and world-class.

I have been to China several times but I do not feel at home. When the aircraft enters Malaysian air space, I feel home-coming.

We will be celebrating 69th Merdeka Independence and Malaysia Day in a month’s time.

Are will more Malaysian-minded or are we Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans and Kadazans rather than Malaysians? After 69 years?

This is the question we should ask ourselves.

We must not be prisoner of the past.
Are we looking into the future to make Malaysia a great world-class nation or are we trotting along to make Malaysia an inconsequential nation?

We have lost talents of all races, religions and cultures for a few decades. How can we keep them to make Malaysia a great world-class nation.,
Or are we fated to make other nations great through the emigration of our talents and skills?

The only moment when the tides of emigration may be reversed was after the 2018 general elections but it was short-lived.

But we must be realistic and have a long-term goal. The Malaysian Dream of uniting the talents and resources of all people in Malaysia, regardless of race, religion and culture cannot be achived overnight. We must have the stamina and long-term objective.

We must not give up the Malaysian Dream – with unity, the talents and resources of Malaysia can make Malaysia great and world-class.

The Negri Sembilan general election is a crucial test for Malaysian Dream.

I call on the voters of Negri Sembilan in all constituencies regardless of race religion or culture to honour Dr. Chen and become an activist for the Malaysian Dream to make Malaysia a great world-class nation.

Regardless of race, religion, class or culture, let us be Dr. Chen on Augst 1 and vote for a Malaysian Dream.
