Former Inspector-General of Police, Tun Hanif Omar, has told Sinar Harian today that he is not senile, that he has got a good memory as he can still remember the Japanese bombing of Teluk Intan on 24th December 1941, when he was not yet three years old!
A person who is senile would not admit that he is senile, but I congratulate Hanif for having such a good memory. He is better than me as I could not remember what I did before I was three years old!
I had given Haniff 48 hours expiring around noon on Sunday to quote chapter and verse, date and place where I had made the preposterous and ridiculous proposal to partition Peninsular Malaysia into two parts, the West for the Chinese and the East for the Malays, for which he sent me to prison in 1969.
He failed to do so and his clarification to Sinar Harian today has not met my 48-hour deadline.
As I have already instructed my lawyer, RamKarpal Singh to initiate legal proceedings against Hanif, I would leave the matter in RamKarpal’s hands.
I would advise Hanif, however, that if he is not senile, then he should act as a responsible former IGP and not be an irresponsible former top cop by failing to take cognizance of the “scorched earth” policy of UMNO and PAS political opportunists and extremists in post-14GE exploiting the toxic and dangerous politics of race, religion, fear, hate and lies to new unprecedented levels.
He should realise that his cock-and-bull story that DAP wanted to partition Peninsular Malaysia into two parts, the West for the Chinese and the East for the Malays (where would the Indians go to?) would be fodder for the political extremists and opportunists in post-14th General Election, as illustrated by the 1min-58 sec WhatsApp video “Realiti Kerajaan Pro-DAP” carrying the most provocative and incendiary speech by the UMNO Secretary-General Tan Sri Annuar Musa to incite inter-racial and inter-religious animosity, hatred and strife in Malaysia or the speech by former UMNO Deputy Minister, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman at the Himpunan Melayu Bangkit purveying the lies that the Malays have lost political power, that the DAP-dominated Pakatan Harapan wanted to “Christianise” Malaysia and abolish the Malay Sultans to set up a republic.
Hanif has created a new cock-and-bull story and now wants everybody to believe that his cock-and-bull story that DAP wanted to partition Peninsular Malaysia into two, with the West for the Chinese and the East for the Malays, was based on a special branch intelligence report sent to him in his capacity as police chief-of-staff in the National Operations Council (Mageran) in 1969.
As I have said, if I or the DAP had proposed the partition of Peninsular Malaysia into two, the West to the Chinese and the East to the Malays, it would not have been kept a secret for half a century, for it would have been used in the last five decades against me and the DAP to show how divisive, destructive, racist and unpatriotic DAP and I had been in wanting to divide Peninsular Malaysia into two parts according to race.
Can Haniff explain firstly, why this so-called DAP proposal was unknown to DAP leaders as I had never heard of it; and secondly, why it had been kept a secret for half a century? Was it a secret only privy to Hanif and the Special Branch?
Will Hanif apologise for acting most irresponsibly as a former top cop in the country with his cock-and-bull story?
