Warning to Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Jailani, UMNO/BN fake papers and “quinoa cybertroopers” not to play with fire by spreading fake news that I have criticised and attacked the Yang di Pertuan Agong

I want to give a warning to the Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Jailani Johari, the UMNO/BN fake papers like Berita Harian and New Straits Times and the army of UMNO/BN “quinoa cybertroopers” not to play with fire and spread false news that I have criticised and attacked the Yang di Pertuan Agong.
I understand that such fake news that I have criticised and attacked the Yang di Pertuan Agong had gone viral this morning.
It all started with the “fake news” published by today’s Berita Harian in the report ‘Kit Siang bersikap biadap, perlekeh titah Agong’, which among other things said:
Will MCMC order Raja Petra to remove articles on me which are full of lies and falsehoods?
Raja Petra Kamaruddin has complied with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) instruction to remove three articles on the website Malaysia Today regarding billionaire Robert Kuok which had had violated Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act by 10 am today.
The three articles were “Robert Kuok wants Chinese rule in Malaysia”, “Malaysian Insight funder fingered” and “Robert Kuok’s last chance at changing the government”.
Robert Kuok was not the only victim of Raja Petra Kamaruddin’s lies and falsehoods in his articles on Malaysia Today. Read the rest of this entry »
What credibility has Liow’s claim that MCA represents the Chinese when the top three MCA leaders have to depend on UMNO’s Malay votes to get into Parliament and Cabinet?
Although I had a fall in my Gelang Patah house, causing me five stitches on the right forehead and cancellation of my weekend programmes in Johor and Selangor – and I am not sure whether I would be able to attend tomorrow’s Parliamentary opening by the Yang di Pertuan Agong with the ugly blue-blacks around my right eye – I just cannot stand the MCA humbug, cant and hypocrisy at the 69th MCA anniversary yesterday.
MCA President and Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, should explain what credibility he possesses when claiming at the 69th MCA anniversary press conference that MCA represents the Chinese when the top three MCA leaders, i.e. the President, Deputy President and Secretary-General, depend on UMNO’s Malay votes to get into Parliament and the Cabinet? Najib government has finally come out of the cold, openly claiming that the 1MDB scandal is “fake news”, even embracing Jho Loh becoming his defender and apologist
Posted by Kit in Fake News, Financial Scandals on Friday, 2 March 2018
The Najib government has finally come out of the cold, openly claiming that the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal is “fake news”, even embracing 1MDB mastermind Jho Low becoming his defender and apologist.
The Minister for Multimedia and Communications, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak has out-Jho Loh even Jho Loh himself in asserting that there is no proof that the billion-ringgit Equanimity luxury yacht seized by the Indonesian authorities in Bali on Wednesday belonged to Jho Low.
This is because Jho Low had as good as admitted to the ownership of Equanimity yacht when in his reaction to the yacht’s seizure by the Indonesian authorities in Wednesday, the 1MDB mastermind accused the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) of “global overreach”.’
Through his spokesperson, Jho Low said:
“The US Department of Justice has stayed asset forfeiture proceedings in this case and has still not taken any steps to prove that any impropriety has occurred.
“It is therefore disappointing that, rather than reflecting on the deeply flawed and politically-motivated allegations, the DOJ is continuing with its pattern of global overreach – all based on entirely unsupported claims of wrongdoing.”
The superyacht, reportedly worth US$250 million (RM1 billion), is among several assets being sought by the DOJ for allegedly being acquired using funds it says were misappropriated from Malaysian state fund 1MDB.
The DOJ believes that at least US$4.5 billion has been misappropriated from 1MDB by Malaysian government officials among others and is looking to recover around US$1.7 billion of in assets allegedly acquired using these stolen funds.
The DOJ’s involvement was in response to the funds being laundered through the US financial system.
The DOJ has temporarily filed for a stay on the forfeiture of these assets, which is through a civil suit, pending a parallel criminal case.
Salleh said the furore raised over the seizure of the yacht is yet another failed attempt by the Opposition to mislead Malaysians using fake news’.
Salleh also said there was also no proof that funds from 1Malaysia Development Bhd were used to purchase the RM1 billion vessel, the Equanimity.
He said the source of the allegations was the DoJ civil suit, which had been on hold since last August.
Salleh said: “Until today, apart from bare allegations contained in the suit, the DoJ has not shown any tangible proof that Low is the actual owner of the yacht or that it was purchased with funds from 1MDB.
“Furthermore, the DoJ has yet to prove any of its allegations in a court of law, despite nearly two years passing since its sensationalised press conference of July 2016.”
Salleh’s statement is virtually a mea culpa by the Najib administration on the 1MDB scandal, and reveals the real character of the Azalina Committee on Fake News as no more than Azalina Committee to Suppress the 1MDB Scandal as Fake News.
(Media Statement in Gelang Patah on Friday, March 2, 2018)
We must not allow fake news to steal the next general election in Malaysia
In other countries, authoritarian leaders are using fake news to explain away atrocities and human rights violations as in Syria, Venezuela and even Myanmar.
Malaysia, however, is providing the world a new example where fake news are being used to explain away corruption and abuses of power, particularly the international multi-billion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal, which has been described by the United States Attorney-General Jeff Sessions as the world’s worst case of kleptocracy and earned for Malaysia the infamy, ignominy and iniquity of a global kleptocracy.
Has Parliament ever discussed Malaysia’s epithet of being regarded by the world as a global kleptocracy? Read the rest of this entry »
Call on Najib to give open apology for the four-day UMNO attacks on Robert Kuok and DAP and to explain why UMNO Ministers chose to believe RPK’s lies against Robert Kuok and DAP
I have met two senior Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) officers, namely the Chief Officer of Network Security and Enforcement Sector, Zulkarnan Mohd Yasin and Datuk Mohd Shafie Harun, Ketua, Bahagian Penguatkuasan dan Siasatan, to lodge complaint of violation of Communications and Multimedia Act in connection with the posting “Stop lying, Kit Siang. You got paid by Robert Kuok” which appeared on the website The Third Force (www.thethirdforce.net) on Feb. 25, 2018, which among other things said:
“1. Lim Kit Siang did receive funding from Robert Kuok
“2. The funding post GE13 was to the tune of RM100 million and handed in stages over the span of four years.
“3. The senior Lim is a closet evangelist responsible for activities by a group of radical evangelists, who, since the mid eighties, organised various activities to turn the Chinese against Muslims.
“4. For this reason and some others previously mentioned, he is positively anti-Muslim, anti-Islam, and without a doubt planning to effect a form of de facto Chinese rule in Malaysia.
“Now, assuming that Kit Siang does not respond to this article, we can take it to mean that he agrees with each and every point I’ve raised. Should he, however, deny the validity to all these claims, I dare him to trigger action pursuant to law against me, failing which we can safely conclude that he’s indeed a closet evangelist who not only received millions from Kuok, he’s positively anti-Islam and most certainly anti-Malay.
“Last but not least, I would like the ‘honourable’ Kit Siang to know that this article is being boosted to kingdom come.” Read the rest of this entry »
The gratuitous, baseless, malicious and savage attacks on Robert Kuok by UMNO cybertroopers, Ministers and leaders in the past four days is a classic case of “If you play with fire, you get burned”
The gratuitous, baseless, malicious and savage attack on tycoon Robert Kuok by UMNO cybertroopers, Ministers and leaders in the past four days is a classic case of “If you play with fire, you get burned”.
I welcome the statement by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, acknowledging that Robert Kuok’s accomplishment as a success story for the country and an inspiration for other entrepreneurs to succeed.
Malaysians breathe a sigh of relief that the completely unwarranted four-day agony, trial and travail which the country’s political process and nation-building underwent had ended, but the question is why the Prime Minister had allowed the whole ugly episode to drag out for four days, with UMNO Ministers like Datuk Seri Azalina Othman, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, and Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz and Deputy Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman stoking the fires of lies, fake news and false information, with the Prime Minister himself contributing to the whole ugly incident with his own statement about Robert Kuok.
But have the UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders really learned a lesson from the ugly episode and can Malaysians be given an assurance that the UMNO/BN leaders will not put the country’s political process and nation-building through another such an agony, trial and tribulation? The three MCA Ministers should raise the disgraceful episode of the gratuitous, baseless, malicious and savage UMNO attacks on Robert Kuok and ask the Prime Minister to tender a public apology to Kuok
Tomorrow is the weekly Cabinet meeting, where the three MCA Ministers should raise the disgraceful episode of the gratuitous, baseless, malicious and savage UMNO attacks on tycoon Robert Kuok and ask the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razaj to tender a public apology to Kuok.
The performance of the top MCA leaders in the past three days was just a crying shame and a dismal disgrace.
I said in Batu Pahat two days ago that in my 53 years in politics, I have not received a single sen from Kuok, whether directly, through his nephew James Kuok or anyone else. Read the rest of this entry »
Top MCA leaders must speak up strongly to ask UMNO to apologise for the crescendo of gratuitous, baseless and malicious attacks on tycoon Robert Kuok and not just come out with weak and insipid statements
My media statement from Kampong Raja yesterday morning that it will be an “eternal blot” to the reputation of MCA leaders if the three MCA Ministers dare not even ask the UMNO leadership to make an open apology for the spate of gratuitous and baseless attacks on tycoon Robert Kuok has had some effect but it is not good enough.
The top MCA leaders must speak up strongly to ask UMNO to apologise for the crescendo of gratuitous, baseless and malicious attacks on Robert Kuok and not just come out with weak and insipid statements.
This is because the attacks on Robert Kuok have increased in viciousness and malice, as illustrated by one UMNO Minister who piled abuses and invectives on Robert Kuok, denouncing him as a “pondan”; “ayam betina”; “coward with no testicles”; challenged him to return to Malaysia to contest in the coming general election and even to surrender his Malaysian citizenship. What are the reasons for UMNO leaders going bersek in making gratuitous, false and baseless attacks on tycoon Robert Kuok, even resorting to lies and falsehoods?
I cannot help thinking of the Greek saying “Those whom the Gods wish to destroy they first make mad” when I followed the mounting crescendo in the gratuitous attacks by UMNO leaders on tycoon Robert Kuok in the past three days.
I am utterly shocked that an UMNO Minister could even denounce Kuok as a “pondan”; “ayam betina”; “coward with no testicles”; challenged him to return to Malaysia to contest in the coming general election and even to surrender his Malaysian citizenship.
What are the reasons for UMNO leaders going bersek in making gratuitous attacks against tycoon Robert Kuok, even resorting to lies and falsehoods? Read the rest of this entry »
I have not received single sen from Robert Kuok in my 53 years in politics, whether through James Kuok or anyone else
The “fake news” machinery of UMNO/Barisan Nasional has been working overtime with the approach of the 14th General Election, which should be held in 80 days before mid-May.
The latest “fake news” is that I have received astronomical donations from tycoon Robert Kuok through his nephew, James Kuok.
In recent years, the false allegations made against me as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, communist, agent of foreign powers, have increased by leaps and bounds to reach unprecedented levels. Read the rest of this entry »
Everyday produces more proofs that UMNO/BN coalition arming itself with two new weapons for the 14th General Elections
Everyday, we are seeing more proofs that the UMNO/BN coalition is arming itself with two new weapons for the 14th General Elections – fake news and corruption.
Najib and the UMNO/Barisan Nasional coalition are the worst culprits in concocting and peddling fake news and false information, but the UMNO/BN strategists and propagandists want to weaponise the fake news issues with new legislation and mechanism purportedly to combat fake news, but whose real purpose is to harass and persecute Pakatan Harapan leaders and supporters over fake news allegations while giving the UMNO/BN leaders and supporters immunity and impunity for the fake news they concoct and disseminate against Pakatan Harapan.
The attack launched by UMNO/BN cybertroops on the social media posting a fake photo of Muslim Pakatan Harapan leaders eating at a table where pork is served is one recent example.
The photo shows state PH chief Mukhriz Mahathir and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu eating at a table where a roast suckling pig could be seen.
The Facebook user posted the photo on Tuesday, captioned: “Nak undi Cina punya pasal sehingga sanggup makan babi. #Undi Pas.” (Because they want Chinese votes, they would even eat pork. #Vote PAS.)
This is fake news, as the sucking pig had been photoshopped, and this could be easily proven when compared to the original photograph. Read the rest of this entry »
Three reasons why Najib and Hadi’s joint propaganda campaign of fake news and false information that DAP is the “devil” and that the Malays and Muslims are under siege in the 14GE would be proven wrong
There are three reasons why the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s joint propaganda campaign of fake news and false information that the DAP is the “devil” and that the Malays and Muslims are under siege in the 14th General Election would be proven wrong.
Firstly, the demonization of DAP as anti-Malay and anti-Muslim has passed its zenith.
It is the most disgraceful fake news and false information manufactured in the history of Malaysian politics indulged by those who wanted to perpetuate their political power at the price of a peaceful, harmonious, united, progressive and prosperous multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-lingual and multi-cultural Malaysia. Can the MCMC guarantee that the new law with 10-fold hike in penalties for “fake news” would be used against both “sharks” and “ikan bilis” in government including Prime Minister Najib and not just against dissent?
The MCMC chief operating officer, Mazlan Ismail has suggested that the current punishments under Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) be increased ten-fold from RM50,000 and one year’s jail sentence to RM500,000 and 10 years’ jail sentence.
Can the MCMC guarantee that such a law with 10-fold increase in penalties will be used fairly and impartially against all, regardless of their office or political affiliation, including the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers?
What is the use of proposing such a ten-fold increase if the MCMC cannot give a guarantee that nobody would be spared if guilty of concocting and peddling fake news and false information, including the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers? Read the rest of this entry »
Call on Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan leadership to make a commitment to conduct fair, clean and honest politics, including not peddling fake news or disrupting activities of opposing political parties
I find the explanation of the UMNO/BN MP for Johor Baru, Tan Sri Shahrir Samad to the latest blackmark to Malaysian democracy, the disruption of the visit of Pakatan Harapan leaders to Kampong Bakar Batu in Johor Baru on Saturday night, to be most lame, pathetic and disappointing.
Is “kampong customs” all that Shahrir can say to defend the rude and thuggish behavior of UMNO members who disrupted the Pakatan Harapan programme, which involved the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Johor Secretary and former three-term Johore State Assemblyman for Kempas, Datuk Osman Sapian, the PKR Johor Information Chief, Akmal Nasir, AMANAH Johore Baru deputy chairman Muadz Jamaluddin, two DAP Johore State Assemblyman namely Andrew Chen Kah Eng (Stulang) and Cheo Yee How (Pengkalan Rinting) and myself?
Can Shahrir explain what are these “kampong customs” which justify rude and thuggish behavior against the peaceful and democratic political visit of Pakatan Harapan leaders?
What is even shocking is the fake news that was immediately manufactured and peddled on Whatsapp yesterday by UMNO cybertroopers who accused Andrew Chen of attacking the Kampong Bakar Batu Malays as “sangat biadap dan kurang ajar” for the incident, when Andrew Chen had never said such things.
I call on both the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan leaderships to make a commitment to conduct fair, clean and honest politics, including not peddling fake news or disrupting activities of opposing political parties. Read the rest of this entry »
Najib and Hadi have formed an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truths”
The surreal world of “fake news” and “post-truths” have finally come to Malaysia, with the PAS President, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang showing his hand.
Hadi’s propaganda offensive in the past few days, echoing Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s baseless attacks on the DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, the dominant power in Pakatan Harapan with all other leaders, whether Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail or Mohamad Sabu as mere DAP puppets and stooges, marks an UMNO-PAS unholy alliance to induct Malaysia into the world of fake news and “post-truth”.
Undoubtedly, the Najib-Hadi duo would have top any “Fake News Award” in Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »
Will Hadi next say that Nik Aziz had endorsed Hadi’s support for “MO1” and Malaysia becoming a “global kleptocracy”?
PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang claims that the former PAS Mursyidul Am, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, had noticed before his passing that there were “problems” with DAP.
Hadi has joined the ranks of those who manufacture lies, fake news and false information when he claimed that the DAP had become arrogant because it had won more seats in 2013, “always fanning racial sentiments” which “led to racial tensions”.
Like UMNO/BN propagandists and cybertroopers, Hadi would not be able to cite a single instance to substantiate his lies, fake news and false information.
He has even swallowed hook, line and sinker the UMNO/BN propaganda that DAP was pulling Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad’s strings.
Will Hadi next say that Nik Aziz had endorsed Hadi’s support for “MO1” and Malaysia becoming a “global kleptocracy? Read the rest of this entry »
The abortive five-year conspiracy to ban DAP as a legal party is the biggest UMNO/BN Fake News plot in recent years trying to turn lies into “post-truth” and why Malaysians must beware of the Azalina Fake Committee on Fake News
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Azalina Othman , has finally brought out “national security” as reason for her Fake Committee on Fake News which comprise representatives from the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the Police and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia.
To Azalina, “national security” could cover a multitude of sins.
However, Azalina is unable to answer the simple question as to what “national security” she is talking about when the government authorities, whether the AG’s Chambers, Police and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia had been collectively negligent and impotent in being unable to tackle the mountain of lies, fake news and false information churned out by a multi-million ringgit UMNO/Barisan Nasional cybertrooper operation against the DAP and Pakatan Harapan.
Can Azalina explain what “national security” she is talking about with reference to the fake news by UMNO/BN cybertroopers that DAP is anti-Malay, anti-Islam, wants a Christian Malaysia, had a budget of RM100 million to RNM1 billion to fund a Red Bean Army (RBA) of 3,000 cybertroopers operating out of Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to attack and defame UMNO/BN – with the latest recent fake news that I was in a coma in a Singapore hospital waiting for my end? Can the Azalina Committee on Fake News ascertain whether allegations that DAP had spent RM100 million to RM1 billion before last general elections to maintain a 3,000-strong cybertrooper Red Bean Army was fake news or not?
The Azalina Committee on Fake News should find out what were the millions or even tens of millions of ringgit which UMNO and Barisan Nasional had spent on cybertroopers to manufacture and disseminate fake news in the country in the past five years.
An indication of the sums of monies expended by UMNO and Barisan Nasional on cybertroopers could be gleaned from the allegations made by UMNO/BN propagandists about the money the DAP spent on cybertroopers, particularly on the fictitious “Red Bean Army”.
Immediately after the last general elections five years ago, UMNO/BN propagandists went to town to allege the DAP funded a fictitious “Red Bean Army” (RBA) of 3,000 cybertroopers with a budget of RM100 million to RM1 billion in the previous six years to attack the UMNO/BN authorities and to defame UMNO/BN leaders over a whole variety of issues.
They even alleged that the RBA had two operational centres, one in Hotel Concorde in Kuala Lumpur and the other based in Komtar in Penang.
I recalled that when the UMNO/BN propagandists stepped up their barrage of lies, fake news and false information about the DAP-funded RBA, I led a team of DAP MPs accompanied by journalists to make a surprise visit to Concorde Hotel on the night of July 4, 2014. Read the rest of this entry »
What is the use of setting up the Azalina Fake Committee on Fake News when for over five years, the AG’s Chambers, the Police and Ministry of Communication and Multimedia had been collectively negligent and impotent to tackle the mountain of lies, fake news and false information churned out by UMNO/BN-funded cybertroopers?
A fortnight ago, the Director of Australian National University (ANU) Malaysia Institute, Ross Tapsell, said that Barisan Nasional is now winning the social media war, as it has improved its social media presence since Election 2013 and now has a stronger presence online compared to the opposition.
Tapsell said that BN had recognised its shortcomings in previous elections and has since effectively mobilised its resources to take on the opposition in cyberspace.
He said: “They have a far stronger presence on social media and on digital media in general in a variety of ways. There are far more pro-government blogs, websites, social media messaging in short there is a clear increase of volume compared to the 2013 elections.
“They know what they are doing this time around, they recognise the importance of new media and are engaged in a big way. Even the Prime Minister Najib has public said they had ‘lost’ the social media front in 2008 and 2013.”
Tapsell said: “The social media content coming out of the opposition camp is not as fiery as it used to be and is not gaining traction as compared to what is being put out by the government,” he said. Read the rest of this entry »
