Malaysians must be asking today whether they can accomplish next Wednesdy on May 9 accomplish what was intended five years ago today, 5th of May – to achieve a “3 in One” to change the Prime Minister, the Malaysian Government and national policies which allowed Malaysia to become and remain a global kleptocarcy?
When I was at the Sibu market walkabout this morning, a supporter approached me and asked whether it is true that Datuk Seri Najib Razak had resigned as Prime Minister so that Pakatan Harapan would not have a target to focus their attacks.
I told them this will not happen as Najib had studiously prepared the last five years to make sure that whatever happens, he cannot be dislodged as UMNO President and Prime Minister of Malaysia – and this is where the 1MDB scandal played a strategic role in Najib’s re-election plans, for 1MDB was to ensure that he would have an uninterrupted flow of money, what Tun Dr. Mahathir had described as “dedak”, to sweeten his path to re-election as Prime Minister of Malaysia.
But “Man Proposes, God Disposes”, and the 1MDB caper did not work out smoothly as planned, as although 1MDB managed to raise RM50 billion through debts, the !MDB “masterminds”, particular Jho Low, was unable to prevent the kleptocratic aspects of the 1MDB scandal from becoming public in the world – although the 1MDB scandal was studiously blacked out inside Malaysia and now even equated as “fake news” which is criminally punishable under the Anti-Fake News Act with draconian penalties of RM500,000, six years’ jail or both.
On looking back, it is now obvious that Najib had set up a decoy to ensure that the 1MDB scandal would not be a major issue of the 14th General Election by getting the 1MDB chief executive officer, Arul Kanda Kandasamy to embark on a daily nation-wide roadshow purportedly to give a full accounting of the world’s “kleptocracy at its worst” and in the process, to remove all the stings from the 1MDB scandal. Visit to eight states and 28 parliamentary constituencies in 7 days to urge voters to change the Prime Minister, Malaysian Government and national policies detrimental to Malaysians and Malaysia
In the first seven days of the 11-day 14th General Election campaign, I visited eight states and 28 parliamentary constituencies to urge Malaysian voters to make full use of the first opportunity in six decades to change the Prime Minister, the Malaysian Government in Putrajaya as well as national policies detrimental to the rights and interests of Malaysians and the future of Malaysia.
The eight states are: Johore (10 parliamentary constituencies), Negri Sembilan (3), Selangor (1), Pahang (3), Kedah (2), Penang (2), Sabah (4) and Sarawak (3).
Wherever I go in the past week, there is a thirst and hunger for political change which rises above race, religion, region and even political party affiliation to Save Malaysia from kleptocracy, racial polarization and exploitative economic policies like GST.
A silent but major theme throughout the 14th General Election is the 1MDB scandal, which has gone underground, especially after the passage of the Anti-Fake News Act and a Minister’s announcement that any report which is not verified by the government is “fake news” and criminally actionable under the Anti-Fake News Act which carries the draconian penalties of RM500,000 fine, six years’ jail or both.
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak is the No. 1 maker and peddler of fake news in country, but the Anti-Fake News Act will not be used against him – showing the double standards and hypocrisy of the UMNO/BN Government. Read the rest of this entry »

The single biggest issue in 14th General Election on May 9, 2018 is whether Datuk Seri Najib Razak continues as Prime Minister or is ousted from Putrajaya.
In four years, Najib has undone what the first five Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak, Hussein Onn, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Badawi, have done for Malaysia in 52 years – international admiration, respect and even acclamation for Malaysia!
Under Najib, Malaysia is the ridicule and scorn of the whole world as a global kleptocracy, as a nation whose leaders come from the four categories of kleptocrats – the four Ps of Pencuri, Perompak, Penyagak and Penyamun – responsible for a whole catalogue of corruption scandal led by the world’s “kleptocracy at its worst”, the multibillion dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal!

May 9, 2018 is the third time in Sabah history to return power to the people 1976 and 1985, when Sabahans “tukar baju”.
Historian Lord Acton has rightly said the “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely”, and this is best illustrated by the 55-year history of Sabah since the formation of Malaysia in 1963.
In the last five decades, we see the double abuse of power – firstly by the Federal Government which trampled on the rights of Sabahans in utter disregard of the rights of the people of Sabah as agreed under the Malaysia Agreement 1963; and secondly, the abuses by the Sabah State Government itself, even those which started off carrying the great hopes and aspirations of Sabahans for change and reforms which prompted the two great electoral results in Sabah in 1976 and 1985. Earlier today on my arrival in Sabah, I visited Tenom to campaign for the DAP Parliamentary candidate Noorita Sual (at the same time campaigning for the two State Assembly candidates from Warisan, Peter Anthony for Melalap and Haris Ongus for Kemabong) and to Keningau to campaign for the DAP State Assembly Candidate for Bingkor Peter Saili.
I have just come from Luyang campaigning for the DAP Parliamentary candidate for Kota Kinabalu, Chan Foong Hin, and the DAP State Assembly Candidates Phoong Jin Zhe (Luyang) and Tan Lee Fatt (Likas).

Five days to decide whether there will be the first change of the Malaysian Government in 61 years
This is the sixth day of the 11-day campaign for the 14th General Election. We have passed the mid-way point to the Polling Day on Wednesday, 9th May 2016.
The political landscape already looked quite different from the political configuration before Nominaton Day on April 28, 2018.
The 14GE is the first of its kind in Malaysia, for a combination of political events and forces had made it as virtually a Prime Ministerial direct election, with voters deciding not only on who is to be the Member of Parliament and State Assembly representative in their respective constituencies, but also who is going to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia – whether Najib is to continue in Putrajaya or whether the seventh Prime Minister will be Tun Mahathir to be followed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the eighth Malaysian Prime Minister.
This is why May 9, 2018 can be a very important historic one, to bring about three political changes in Malaysia – change the Prime Minister, the Malaysian Government in Putrajaya and the national policies which have impeded and undermined the fulfilment of the Malaysian Dream for Malaysia to be a top world-class nation; and for other states apart from Penang and Selangor, three further political changes: change the Mentri Besar or Chief Minister and change the state government policies which are detrimental to the rights, interests and welfare of the people. It is time that Malaysians return to honest, decent and civil politics about policies and programmes instead of the dishonest, indecent and uncivil politics of lies, hate and fear arousing primordial racial and religious sentiments of fear and hatred.
For instance, I have never accused the Prime Minister and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak of being anti-Chinese, anti-Indian, anti-Buddhism, anti-Christianity or anti-Hinduism and Najib, UMNO leaders and UMNO propaganda apparatus should stop making wild and false allegations that DAP and I are anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
Najib and UMNO leaders warn that if UMNO is defeated in the 14th General Election, the Malays in Malaysia will perish.
How can Najib and the UMNO leadership, who have dominated the government in the country for more than half a century, have such low opinion of the Malays as to believe that the Malays are so gullible that they could believe such trash and falsehoods churned out by the UMNO propaganda mills?

Five historic changes in 14GE on May 9, 2018
I call on the voters of Kedah to write history by bringing about five historic changes in the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018, viz:
1. Change the Malaysian Prime Minister;
2. Change the Malaysian Government in Putrajaya;
3. Change the Kedah Mentri Besar;
4. Change the Kedah State Government; and
5. Change the federal and state government polices which are detrimental to the interests and welfare of Malaysians.
I have just read the Malaysiakini report of a Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) survey which predicted that the Kedah State Assembly will be faced with a hung assembly following the May 9 polls.
According to Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani, who headed the research team, BN was predicted to win 16 out of 36 seats, followed by Pakatan Harapan (12) and PAS (8).
I conducted a straw poll immediately among the people who are here to attend the DAP ceramah, and there is incredulity and disbelief that PAS could win as many as eight seats, some thinking that it would be a miracle if PAS could win two seats!
There is also disbelief that Barisan Nasional could win 16 seats as it seems to be majority view that Pakatan Harapan can win more than half the Kedah State Assembly seats to form the next State Government of Kedah.
May 9 is therefore set to be a historic watershed in Malaysian History.
If the people of Philipines can change their President on May 9 two years ago, and the peop[le of South Korea changed their President on the same date last year, there is no reason why on May 9 this year, Malaysians cannot change the Prime Minister.

New Straits Times today carried an extraordinary headline: “Ask me anything, Arul Kanda tells DAP leaders” on the invitation of the 1MDB Chief Executive Officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy to DAP leaders to a townhall session in Penang to explain issues about the 1MDB.
Let me tell Arul – that he is at least two years too late. Furthermore, nobody is interested in Arul’s fairy tales about the 1MDB scandal, as the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, should step forward to account fully for the 1MDB “kleptocracy at its worst” which has landed Malaysia with the ignominy, infamy and iniquity as a global kleptocracy!
In the past 16 days, Arul was suddenly holding court almost everyday, purportedly seeking to explain the various facets of the octopian 1MDB money-laundering scandal.
I was surprised that Arul had suddenly become a daily publicity-seeker on the 1MDB scandal but now it is obvious it was all part of Najib’s 14th General Election strategy to pull the wool over everybody’s eyes, neutralise any Pakatan Harapan offensive on the 1MDB scandal and to remove the sting from multi-faceted octopian scandal of the 1MDB “kleptocracy at its worst” – to use the description of the United States Attorney-General Jeff Sessions.

If Mahathir is anti-Chinese, why MCA leaders were prepared to serve under him as MCA Ministers, MPs, State Excos and State Assembly reps for 22 years?
Midway in the 11-day 14th General Election, the MCA/UMNO/Barisan Nasional election campaign has take a turn towards greater irresponsibility and dangerous trend in the politics of race, religion, fear, hate and lies.
Lies and falsehoods had been spread to accuse me of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam to create fear and hate among the Malays.
Now, there is a new twist that Tun Mahathir is anti-Chinese by MCA propagandists.
Let me ask the MCA leadership to explain why, if Mahathir is anti-Chinese, MCA leaders were prepared to serve under him as MCA Ministers, Members of Parliament, State Executive Councillors and State Assembly representatives for 22 years?

A foreign visitor to Malaysia would think that China President Xi Jinping is contesting in Malaysia’s 14th General Election on May 9, 2018.
Xi Jinping is an outstanding leader and great President of China, but is he contesting in the Malaysian general elections, where his photograph on giant billboards is put up all over the country, when even the image of Malaysia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir is summarily and unceremoniously torn out from Pakatan Harapan election billboards by Election Commission?
The MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, should explain why he is putting up giant billboards of Xi Jinping in Bentong and in constituencies contested by MCA, and not billboards of the Barisan Nasional President and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Is this an admission that in his heart of hearts, the MCA President knows that Najib is the most unpopular Prime Minister in Malaysian history, responsible for the internationally infamous 1MDB money-laundering scandal which, overnight, turned Malaysia into a global kleptocracy and international outcast?
If so, why had there not been a single MCA Minister, Member of Parliament, State Assembly representative or leader who had dared to question Najib whether in Cabinet, Parliament or the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council or other BN forums in the past five years on the 1MDB scandal? Najib has no equal as the best actor in Malaysian political arena

Although the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has accused Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as the No. 1 actor, who should get an Oscar for his acting, there is no doubt that Najib has no equal as the best actor in the Malaysian political arena.
Najib has three acting roles in the 14th General Election:
Firstly, pretending that the international multi-billion-dollar 1MDB money-laundering scandal which had given Malaysia the infamy of a global kleptocracy does not exist, that Malaysia had not lost a single sen from 1MDB scandal, and that there is good governance and full public accountability in Malaysia.
This requires acting of the first order, for the whole world knows that 1MDB is the world’s “worst kleptocracy” to use the words of the United States Attorney-General, some 10 countries are investigating the 1MDB money-laundering scandal with several of them closing down financial institutions involved in the money-laundering scandal including several former bankers found guilty of money-laundering crimes and some serving prison time; and there is the evidence of the ill-gotten gains of 1MDB money-laundering gains like the billion-ringgit Equanimity luxury superyacht impounded in Indonesia in February and the RM144 million pink diamond necklace bought for the wife of “MO1”.
Najib even claimed that the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had cleared him of any wrongdoing in the 1MDB scandal but he dared not accept my challenge to a public encounter to quote chapter and verse to prove that the PAC report had indeed cleared him of wrongdoing – as what Najib claimed was a pure lie. Reject UMNO/BN on May 9, 2018 to Save Malaysia from a kakistocracy now that we have become a global kleptocracy

The 14th General Election will be the most important general election Malaysians have ever had to face.
It will mark the first time in our history when a former prime minister leads the Opposition into battle against the party and coalition he once led. In doing so, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has rejected his old party, Umno, and condemned it as a party that no longer fights for the interests of the Malays and Malaysians. He has accused Umno’s leaders as being greedy, corrupt, power-crazy, and serving their own interests.
Many Malays who still revere Tun Mahathir may now be convinced to vote against Umno for the first time in their lives. They may now see in Pakatan Harapan an alternative to Barisan Nasional (BN). This will spark a new voting trend for many Malays. And it brings hope to Pakatan Harapan. For we cannot ignore the fact that GE14 will largely be decided by the Malays.
At the same time, we must also take note that Malaysians of all races have never been so distrustful and contemptuous of BN than now. The 1MDB scandal has tarnished the country’s good name throughout the world, with billions of ringgit of the people’s money stolen from the fund, some of it going to a high public official known as MO1. Other scandals have emerged, like those involving Felda and Mara, which further show how untrustworthy the so-called protectors of the people have become.
After a long-overdue reign of 61 years, the BN government has become not only a kleptocracy (i.e. government of thieves) but also a kakistocracy (i.e. government by the worst). Read the rest of this entry »

The 14th General Election on May 9, 2018 is unlike all the previous thirteen general elections in the six decades of Malaysian nationhood, when voters elected the Member of Parliament and the State Assembly representative in their respective areas.
But in the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018, the 15 million Malaysians voters will not only elect their Member of Parliament and State Assembly representative, they will also elect the Prime Minister of Malaysia – whether Datuk Seri Najib Razak will continue as Prime Minister through a combination dirty electoral tactics, worst gerrymanderying in the nation’s history, and undemocratic laws and measures making a mockery of a free, fair and honest election, or whether Najib will be ousted from Putrajaya to be replaced by Tun Mahathir as the new Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the new Deputy Prime Mijnister – and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Has the MCA leadership, starting with MCA President Liow Tiong Lai, lost confidence in Najib that it is putting up Xi Jinping’s photograph on MCA election billboards instead of Najib?
The question swirling in the minds of Malaysians is whether the MCA leadership, starting with the MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, has lost confidence in the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, believing that Barisan Nasional would lose in the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018 that MCA is putting up the photograph of the China’s President, Xi Jinping on MCA billboards instead of that of Najib?
This is the latest sign of the political bankruptcy of MCA.
But what is shocking is the rude and inexcusable action of the Election Commission tearing out the image of Malaysia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad – the most blatant being the Election Commission’s action this morning cutting out Mahathir’s image from the billboard in Ayer Hitam, which had displayed the photographs of DAP/Pakatan Harapan candidate, Liew Ching Tong on the right, Tun Mahathir at the centre and the DAP/PH candidate for Yong Peng state assembly seat, Chew Pek Choo on the left.
I do not believe that the enforcement officers are happy at all in carrying out the most unreasonable and excessive orders to cut out Mahathir’s image from the election billboard, and the Prime Minister must explain why government servants are forced to do such an unpopular and unreasonable directive. The people of Buloh Kasap and Segamat join all right-thinking Malaysians to condemn the cutting out of the image of Malaysia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad from a giant billboard in Ayer Hitam, featuring DAP/PH candidate for Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency, Liew Ching Tong, Tun Mahathir and the DAP/PH candidate for Yong Peng state assembly seat, Chew Pek Choo.
I saw the photographs on Malaysiakini report on the cutting out of Mahathir’s image from the giant billboard half an hour ago, and I must confess that I was utterly shocked that such disrespect and contempt for the seniors and elders in the country could happen in so blatant and brazen a manner.
Let me say that it is not only the Chinese and Indians in Malaysia who are outraged at the contempt shown to Mahathir, I believe that the overwhelming majority of Malays in Malaysia will be equally outraged.

Just as Chinese in Malaysia do not perish without MCA, Indians do not perish without MIC, Malays will not perish without UMNO
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, said there is no Malay tsunami, but his actions belie his words.
He appears to be increasingly desperate that there will be a Malay tsunami, making him resort to the politics of race, hate and fear to an extent which had never been done by any Prime Minister and UMNO President before.
He even alleged that it is the DAP which is inventing the Malay tsunami.
But up and down the country, a Malay tsunami is in the making, and the question is whether the Malay tsunami will be strong and powerful enough by Polling Day on May 9, 2018 to dislodge Najib and the UMNO/BN coalition from Putrajaya.

The loss of one parliamentary seat and five state assembly seats on Nomination Day, instead of acting like a wet rag to dampen the enthusiasm of Pakatan Harapan leaders, members and supporters, will have the opposite effect of firing up their spirit and determination to work trebly hard to effect change of the Prime Minister, governments and policies on May 9, 2018.
Pakatan Harapan does not deny that the loss of one parliamentary and five state assembly seats on Nomination Day is a setback, but this is not the result of the choice of the voters but further example of the wholesale cheating, underhand and undemocratic tactics of the Najib administration to “steal” the 14th General Election so that he could stay in power as Prime Minister.
But Najib is very wrong if he thinks that the loss of one parliamentary and five state assembly seats will break the spirit of Pakatan Harapan for political change on May 9.
On the contrary, it will be regarded as a further but costly reminder that the stakes on May 9, 2018 are very high, that this golden opportunity for the first political change in the country in 61 years must not be wasted, for such opportunity is not going to return for a very long time. A Pakatan Harapan Malaysian Government will give priority to restore justice, freedom, rule of law and a clean and good government to Malaysians
If the Filipinos can change their President on May 9 two years ago, and the South Koreans can change their President on May 9 last year, the question is whether Malaysians can change their Prime Minister on May 9 this year.
If there is a change of Prime Minister on May 9, Datuk Seri Najib Razak will be the new Parliamentary Opposition Leader if he survives in UMNO, and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will be the seventh Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail the new Deputy Prime Minister creating history as the first Malaysian woman to hold this high post, while Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be set to become the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
This will herald a political change and a re-set of nation-building policies and directions in Malaysia, and Malaysians will again dare to dream and work to achieve the Malaysian Dream to make Malaysia a world top-class nation instead of as at present, hurtling in the trajectory towards a failed, rogue and kleptocratic state.
A top priority if Pakatan Harapan forms the new Malaysian Government on May 9 will be to set up a high-powered commission to find ways to get the million-odd best and brightest Malaysians who form the Malaysian Diaspora all over the world to return to rebuild Malaysia; and secondly, to ensure that the new generation of Malaysians do not have to emigrate overseas so that their capabilities and talents can find fulfilment. In the 13th General Election, DAP sent party strategist Liew Chin Tong from Bukit Bendera in Penang to Kluang and DAP woman leader Teo Nie Ching from Serdang in Selangor to Kulai.
For the 14th General Election, Yeo Bee Yin, who won the Selangor State Assembly seat of Damansara with a majority of over 30,000 votes in 2013, have left a very safe seat to contest in a risky Bakri parliamentary seat in Johore.
Pakatan Harapan has sent a Malay intellectual, Dr. Maszlee Malik from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) to contest for the parliamentary seat of Simpang Renggam and three-time winner of Asia’s Best Speaker Award, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, 25, to contest in the parliamentary seat of Muar.
PKR has sent its youth leader, Akmal Nasir, INVOKE Chief Resource Office and Executive Director of National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW) to contest the Johor Bahru parliamentary seat while Amanah has sent its national organizing secretary and long-time champion of the rights of Felda settlers, Suhaizan Kaiat to contest the Kukup state assembly seat.
