Zaki Yamani should retract and apologise for his social media posting as Malaysians do not want a hate culture in Malaysian politics or life.

I full support the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, who had asked netizen Zaki Yamani, who had tweeted a prayer urging for death for PAS President, Hadi Awang, to apologise for his post.

In my close to six decades in Malaysian politics, I had never harboured the hope that my political opponents would die.

I wish Hadi, who is receiving hospital treatment after his health started deteriorating since Hari Raya Haji swift recovery, and I also hope Hadi would mend his ways to stop spreading lies, falsehoods, fake news, and hate speech which could only polarise race and religious relations in Malaysia, and which is not helpful to ensuring the fulfilment of the wishes of the Yang di Pertuan Agong and various Sultans to see political stability and greater national unity in the country.

Hadi had alleged that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam, a communist and promoting Islamophobia, which are baseless and wicked allegations, which Hadi has not been able to substantiate despite being repeatedly challenged to do so.

I invite Hadi to join me in ensuring that there will be clean and honest politicking in Malaysia, and that the six state polls in Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will be witness to such clean and healthy politics.
