Call on all patriotic Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or politics to unite in 14 GE to “Write History, Create Miracle” to “Save Malaysia” from kleptocracy and hurtling towards a failed and rogue state

Tonight’s good crowd at the Bersatu Pribumi Ceramah Perdana is a good beginning for a nation-wide movement to “Save Malaysia” from now to the next General Election expected to be held this year, probably in September.

I call on all patriotic Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics, to unite in the 14GE to “Write History, Create Miracle” to “Save Malaysia” from kleptocracy and hurtling towards a failed and rogue state.

I said in Parliament in November that kleptoracy is a government of 3Ps – Pencuri, Perompak and Penyamun.

I do not think any patriotic Malaysian, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics, want Malaysia to become a kleptocracy and they become citizens of 3P kleptocracy.

I had put a question at the current meeting of Parliament asking the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as to what steps the government has taken to cleanse and restore the good name and reputation on Malaysia from being regarded as a global kleptocracy.

Unfortunately, instead of answering one of the most important questions confronting Malaysians today, my question was rejected by the Speaker, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia as violating Standing Order 23(1)© which states that “a question shall not contain any argument, interference, opinion, imputation, epithet or misleading, ironical or offensive expression nor shall a question be frivolous or asked seeking information on trivial matters”.

I do not agree with the Speaker as my question as to what steps the government had taken to cleanse and restore Malaysia’s good name and reputation as a result of being regarded world-wide as a “global kleptocracy” is a very valid and pertinent question – as this is the reason why Malaysians going abroad are ashamed of identifying themselves as Malaysians when asked which country they come from.

It is not argumentative, offensive or frivolous, but a question being faced by 31 million Malaysians, whether abroad or within the country.

In fact, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) specifically acted under its Kleptocracy Assets Recovery Initiative when it filed the largest kleptocratic lawsuit to confiscate over US$1 billion 1MDB-linked assets in United States, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

If MPs are not allowed to ask the Prime Minister questions about Malaysia’s infamy and ignominy at being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy, and if the government is not going to do anything to cleanse and restore Malaysia’s reputation, then the only option left is for patriotic Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or politics, to unite in the 14GE to save Malaysia from global kleptocracy.

This is not an easy job. There are many who have written off Opposition efforts to Save Malaysia from global kleptocracy, on the ground that the UMNO/BN government is so strong and the Opposition is so weak and divided, that there is no chance to topple Najib and the UMNO/BN Federal government from power in Putrajaya in the 14GE.

I agree that it is very difficult and uphill to oust Najib and topple the UMNO/BN Federal Government from Putrajaya, especially as Najib has the support of the PAS President, Hadi Awang, who has said that the issue of Najib, a Muslim, remaining as Prime Minister is more important than the issue of Malaysia becoming a global kleptocracy.

There are those who think that the best chance of change of Federal government in Putrajaya was during the 13th General Election on May 5, 2013 and that it is not possible to change the Federal Government in the 14th General Election as the opposition is too weak and divided.

I do not fully agree.

Let us look back only ten years ago, when the possibility of change of Federal Government in Putrajaya through the ballot box was universally regarded as unthinkable and impossible.

We have come a long way since 10 years ago.

After the 2008 “political tsunami”, no Malaysian regarded a change of Federal Government in Putrajaya as an impossible dream as it had become eminently possible, thinkable and do-able.

In fact, we would have achieved a change of Federal government in Putrajaya in the 13th General Election if the electoral system was genuinely fair and democratic.

Unfortunately, although Najib secured 47% of the popular vote, he was able to secure 60 per cent of the parliamentary seats, which enabled him to continue as Prime Minister, although as the first minority Prime Minister in Malaysia.

Many seems to have lost hope that there is a possibility of change in the next 14GE.

I do not agree. It is difficult, even uphill, but not impossible.

There is in fact no option for patriotic Malaysians but to unite to Save Malaysia from kleptocracy, unless they want to see Malaysia entrenched in trajectory hurtling towards a failed and rogue state.

It may be that it requires as good as a miracle to oust Najib and the UMNO/BN government from Putrajaya in the 14 GE, but it is not an impossible mission.

We must re-ignite hope among Malaysians that we are capable of “Writing History, Creating Miracles” in the 14GE to bring about change in the Federal Government in Putrajaya to Save Malaysia from a global kleptocracy and hurtling towards a failed and rogue state, which can only bring hardships and sufferings to our children and children’s children.
